The throttle position sensor in a 2008 Chevy Silverado can be found near the throttle body in the vehicle's engine compartment. This is a sensor that measures the amount of throttle input and gives that information to the throttle body so that it knows how much it should open or close. When there is a problem with the throttle body in Your vehicle usually You will notice a decrease in throttle response. That is usually a sign that the throttle position sensor does not know how much throttle You are using and so it is delayed and not working properly. Typically You will also get a check engine light on at Your dash if this is failing in the car since it will let the ECU know.

A throttle position sensor (tps) is a sensor which monitors an engine's air intake. The sensor is mounted on the spindle / shaft of the device, so that it can control the throttle position directly.
