The 2009 Chevy Silverado 2500HD is equipped with a cabin air filter behind the glove boxAnd under the passenger side dash. You will need to unbolt the glove box to access the CAF housing. Many consider a cabin air filter to be an integral part of a healthy environment, keeping the interior of the truck free of dust, dirt and allergy-causing pollens. A filter also works with the HVAC system of a vehicle to protect its fan and ducts from clogging or damage. When servicing a CAF, keep in mind it must be changed as part of a routine maintenance schedule, and while this interval varies based on make and model owned, Chevy recommends every year or 10,000 miles for the Silverado.

You will need to use a screwdriver to remove the outer housing of the glove box and behind it you will find the location of the cabin air filter. This is the same on all silverado trucks.
