The 2009 model of the Ford Focus does not have a cabin air filter fitted as standard equipment. Vehicles without cabin air filters typically have a plastic mesh that prevents leaves and other foreign objects from entering the HVAC system. This mesh is part of the vehicle and does not need to be changed.

It's in the passenger footwell. You need to drop the fuse box and remove the bracket. Filter is upright, behind a plastic cover, with 4-5 screws. Filter is about £12.

Yes they do its directly behind the heater controls, accessed via the rear of fuse box.

They do have a cabin air filter! With LHD you need to remove the accelerator pedal, with RHD you need to remove the fusebox on the passenger side

I have just googled & replaced a cabin/ pollen filter in a 2009 Focus (handbook useless). I just wish Ford hadn't made it so goddamn awkward!
