The 2012 Chevy Cruze 1.4 fuel filter can be found in the fuel sending unit that is located in the gas tank. It is part of the entire assembly and You will need to remove the top cover from the tank to access it. The fuel filter is used to prevent debris from getting into the fuel lines and then into the injectors. This helps protect Your engine and the rest of the fuel system. In the past filters were placed on the bottom of the car in line with the fuel system, but that was a weak spot where leaks could develop. If You notice a loss in fuel pressure that could be a sign of a clogged filter not letting enough fuel through the pump.

Look inside the frame rail on the driver side to locate the fuel filter for the 2012 chevy cruze.

It’s on the right side of the motor towards the front it’s a big black cap sticking out then you take a 24 mm socket with a long extension and ratchet and turn it left until it comes plum loose then you grab ahold of it with your hand and pull it and the filter cartridge out together then pull the paper oil filter off then snap your new one on the same way it came off and there is a oil ring around the cap if it looks good you don’t need to change it but your new filter has a new one in the box that it came in but always take and put a little bit of oil on your finger and rub it around the oil ring so it seals right when you screw the filter and cap back on and that’s how you do it
