The traction control button on a Ford Escape can be found on the center console of the vehicle. The traction control button has a car on it that has s shaped squiggly lines beneath it. If You want to turn the traction control system off You will need to press and hold that button until You have an indicator on the dash that lets You know that it has been disabled. The traction control system in Your SUV is used to help it keep traction in low traction environments. This can include snow and ice, or driving off road. It uses the brakes to lock wheels that are losing traction so that they do not spin. If it is having problems I recommend having it inspected by a mechanic.

The TCS button on a 2012 Ford Escape is located just under your AC controls.

This is on the side of the shifter and can be used to turn traction on or off. It is probably better to leave it in the on system.
