The fuel pump driver module is located on the 2001 Ford F-150 above and just ahead of the spare tire. It is attached to a steel cross-member with two fasteners. The aluminum base is very susceptible to corrosion being mounted againSTSteel. It is a good idea to check /test this part when having fuel delivery problems. The Fuel Pump Driver Module controls the voltage delivered to a vehicle's fuel pump. By controlling the voltage, the module maintains optimal fuel pressure and fuel delivery to the engine throughout its full operating range. Symptoms of a failing module all manifest in the performance of the engine. Difficulty in starting or a smoky start-up, stalling, or uneven running while idling are all signs of a failing module.

2004 was the first year with a fuel pump driver module. You can verify this by going to any auto parts website and trying to order one for a model year prior to 2004. If you want even more proof, look up a fuel pump driver module for a 2004 or newer. Believe me, if they existed, they'd be for sale.

Ok: Ford didn't start installing the Fuel pump driver module until the year 2004-2008. So if tour truck is2000-2003 it doesn't have one. The problem will most likely be the Fuel Pump ,which is inside the Gas Tank. But 1st check and make sure it isn't the Fuel shut off switch.it would be located either dead center at the very Bottom of the dash board just above the floor.or sometimes behind the back seat in the center. If the Red Button is up.Then it needs to be pushed back down to resume the Fuel to the Injectors.Bit thus switch/button will normally only shut off if your involved in some kind of accident. The other think you might want ro check is the ECI Module(The main ,Big module. To which I know that in my 2002 Ford Supercrew. Is Located behind the plastic kick plate on the passenger side ,inside the truck on the lower right passenger side. You have to pull the plastic cover off to get to it.whuch us held in place with plastic push Rivets. (To which can be reinstalled). If those two are not the problem.then your Fuel Pump needs to be replaced, that's, again inside the fuel tank. And to honest. Its way to much work.I had mine replaced several years ago. And it cost Approx: $1,000.00
