Peppy and capable v6 engine comfortable and quiet cabin smooth handling.
Its high speed car so fast it's good to all of things. We were impressed by its ride and handling balance. The all wheel drive rdx also beat its EPA fuel mileage rating in our mpg tests. The Acura rdx crossover comes standard with led headlights. Its quality so great.

Acura rdx drives like a magic carpet.
I love the back of the mirror and the alerts that do not let you go into the lane with oncoming traffic. I love the heated seats%. I love that I can change the temperature so easily for myself but the passenger can have their own temperature level. It is a very comfortable ride.

Love the way it handles and drives.
I love the way my car handles and the size of it. It is not a ton of technology to where it is overwhelming. The seats are very comfortable and adjustable, up and down. There is plenty of power in this vehicle. I love that it has a sunroof and it is not loud like some other cars.

The color and shape are sleek.
Maintenance costs are high. It is very reliable. Smooth running and powerful. Luxurious interior with power everything. The technology works well and is well integrated. I do not like the windshield wiper set up. Wish it was automatic. Also, I would like to install a starter fob.

Never but another Acura. The sensors go off for no apparent reason. The dealership won’t do anything about it unless they witness it happening. My car is reliable it takes me to and from where I need to go.
I previously owned a mdx, I do miss the extra space. I also do not like that even though I upgraded my car by a few years it still feels a bit more basic in comparison to the previous car I owned. It does not have a lot of tech features including side motion sensors.

Not enough space and has transmission problems.
It is a pretty good car, however it has had some transmission problems and I would never buy another Acura or Honda after owning this car. I would also like more space. The back is smaller than I would like it to be. I had a Toyota rav4 before this car and it had more room.

Its handy and good to use. One of the best SUV's I have been using. The car is super comfortable but it has slight jerks on the roads. Interior is good with better space and comfort. It gives a good mileage. It is worth for its money. I would recommend people to buy this mid range SUV.

What Do Critics Say About the Acura RDX?

  • Consumer Reports says the 2017 Acura RDX doesn’t push the envelope but offers a very nice driving experience with high owner satisfaction scores.
  • Edmunds rates the RDX at 4.3/5, enjoying the passenger room in the rear seats, but doesn’t like the distracting touchscreen.

What Common Problems Does the 2017 Acura RDX Have?

Common problems found on the 2017 Acura RDX include the navigation system freezing, slow gear changes, along with warped brake rotors. Overall, these problems are generally minor compared to other luxury SUVs on the market, leading to lower repair costs as it ages.

Navigation system freezing is the most widespread complaint on the 2017 RDX, showing up in the first 2,000 miles. Usually, the problem is simply caused by a software issue. There are updates for the stereo system software which improves the reliability. Most dealerships will install the updates for free, while some charge around $50.

Slow gear changes have also been reported at around 15,000 miles. This is also a software issue, usually. Most dealerships will update the transmission software for free, while some charge around $100. There are some rare reports of damage to the gears in the transmission, but those problems are usually covered under a warranty when it has low mileage.

Warped brake rotors are another complaint from some 2017 RDX owners at around 10,000 miles. If you are heavy on the brakes it can lead to additional heat building up which causes the rotors to warp. Replacing the rotors costs around $550, depending on local labor rates.

There is only one recall on the 2017 Acura RDX, which is better than other compact luxury SUVs. It covers an incorrect information label, which Acura will replace with the correct label for free.

How Long Will the 2017 Acura RDX Last?

A well-maintained 2017 Acura RDX can last around 250,000 miles, which is longer than other small luxury SUVs including the Mercedes GLC. Regular annual maintenance costs are lower than other SUVs, according to data provided by Repair Pal, at $466 per year.

As a used 2017 Acura RDX reaches 100,000 miles, and depending on the vehicle history, owners should be prepared to replace the fuel door release actuator for $175, A/C refrigerant pressure switch costing $375, along with the water pump which costs $600.

What Engines Come In the Acura RDX?

Under the hood, you’ll find a 3.5-liter V6 engine that delivers an impressive 279 horsepower at up to 23 MPG. This engine is mated to a very smooth six-speed automatic transmission. It is also capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in around 6.2 seconds, which is reasonably fast for a luxury compact SUV.

What Colors Does the Acura RDX Come In?

How Comfortable Is the Acura RDX?

The 2017 Acura RDX is widely recognized for its comfortable and luxurious interior. Equipped with high-quality materials and well-crafted features, the cabin offers a top-notch ride experience. The seats are well-padded, supportive, and designed with premium leather upholstery, which adds to the overall comfort and aesthetic appeal. The vehicle seats five people, and both rows provide ample head and legroom, making it suitable for both short city drives and long-distance journeys.

Regarding ride comfort, the RDX excels with its smooth and compliant suspension, absorbing most road imperfections and providing a serene ride quality. The cabin is also notably quiet, thanks to effective sound insulation that keeps wind and road noise to a minimum.

How Much Storage Space Does the Acura RDX Have?

The 2017 Acura RDX is a versatile luxury compact SUV that offers substantial storage space. Regarding cargo capacity, it boasts an impressive 26.1 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats. This is more than enough space to fit everyday items such as grocery bags, suitcases, or a stroller. If you’re embarking on a larger shopping spree, the rear seats can be easily folded down, expanding the cargo area to an even more generous 61.3 cubic feet. This space is enough for larger items such as a bicycle, a small piece of furniture, or several large suitcases for those long vacation trips.

Moreover, the interior storage compartments of the 2017 RDX are also well-designed. There are door pockets, a large glove box, a deep center console, and under-floor storage in the cargo area to conveniently place your small items like mobile phones, water bottles, or notebooks.

What Are the Differences Between Years?

The second generation of the Acura RDX was introduced for the 2013 model year.

2015: No significant changes from previous years.

2016: Upgraded front grille, refreshed headlights, new touchscreen, and more safety equipment.

2017: No major changes from earlier years.

2018: Offers the same features as previous years.

2019: Fully redesigned for the third generation with new styling, technology, and engines.

2020: No major changes after last year’s redesign.

2021: Limited-run PMC edition model introduced.

How Does the Acura RDX Compare to the Competition?

The 2017 Acura RDX is a very nice compact SUV if you’re looking for some entry-level luxury features paired with the reliability you would expect from an SUV that is a Honda at its core.

The Acura MDX is a larger SUV offered by Acura which costs around $3,500 more. Passenger room is better in the Acura MDX, while the Acura RDX offers a sportier driving experience. We recommend the Acura MDX since the added practicality is worth the money, although both are very similar choices.

The Honda CR-V is another SUV which is available for around $2,500 less. Both the Acura RDX and Honda CR-V are built on the same platform, although the cabin is nicer in the Acura RDX and the engine is more powerful. We recommend the Acura RDX for most buyers since the extra luxury is worth the money.

Transmission issues
I recently bought a used 2017 Acura RDX. Beautiful car and really there is a lot I like. But a few days I got it, on our first trip out of town I started getting warning lights for “check transmission” and “check blind spot system” as well as a blinking”D”. The lights cleared once the car was turned off. Took it to Acura but they didn’t find anything. The lights showed up again on our next drive out of town within 10-15 miles. The car is once again in the shop waiting on a new torque converter. They’ll look at the blind spot system once the first part is fixed. There are only 40000 miles on the car. Not sure what to think on how this car is going to hold up in the long run. But I hope this note helps someone else for diagnosing a potential problem.

The Acura rdx is a good SUV. It is agile and fun to drive, and its engine packs plenty of power while returning great fuel economy estimates. Its comfortable interior offers plenty of space for passengers in both rows, and the cabin is stuffed with high-quality materials. The rdx does have some blemishes, however. It has a below-average predicted reliability rating, and its infotainment system, while packed with great tech features, is not as user-friendly as many competitors’ systems.

The accurate Acura rdx summary.
Most of the time, the car functions as stated but sometimes, especially on off road occasions it has the tendency to act up. Thankfully, it does not get too bad and whatever damage is done is easily rectified but I just wish this issue was brought up prior to purchase. Very comfortable interiors and top of the line entertainment system.

Overall great, but lacking technology upgrades.
I enjoy my Acura rdx. Mechanically it has been great and I have had zero issues with it. Maintenance is important and I find it seems to run better on the suggested premium gas, so factor that in as you are considering your next car purchase. The biggest complaint I have is that the technology on the back of camera is low quality for a higher quality car. Other 2017 SUVs have much larger screens and better guidelines.

My Acura experience as a car buyer!!
My Acura drives really smooth whilst speeding up. Although maintaining high speeds makes the car a bit bumpy at times overall the quality of this car is very good and I would definitely recommend. There is no reclining seats in the Acura, which lowers my overall rating and the ac quality is not very good. For example when having your car parked and not moving not much air comes out but when you move and sipped up more air blows out.

Performance and gas mileage are great!! Travels great and have plenty of room traveling with a one year old child. So far so good! I can fill up my car with less than $30 and that is about 21 gallons. Very smooth driving and soft engine. The gas and brakes are very sensitive.

It's a great ride and a manageable size. The price is worth it.
I like the size of my vehicle. It's high enough up that I can see and yet I do not have to climb into it. I like the way it handles on the road. I feel safe. There are really no complaints about it.

This is very positive company. This performance is very good.
Acura is the best car company in my life. This have no problems. Every rdx is powered by a 272-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission and either front- or all-wheel drive (or 'sh-AWD' in Acura-speak). The a-spec version we tested had a responsive gas pedal at low speeds, and it pulled away from stop lights with authority.

Reliable, kid friendly, luxury.
Drives like a car but has all of the conveniences of an SUV, never any issues, spacious backseat. Large trunk, great for people with babies or children.

It drives so smooth and has good pick up. It is very peppy. Also good in the snow
I love the sleek look and the interior. I love the smooth ride. It has a lot of features that I like. It is very room for a small suv

Acura rdx is a nice vehicle.
It drives good and is nice looking. The gas mileage isn't the best but I drive around alot. I love the sunroom and the 4 wheel drive. It is very comfortable. I've only had it 2 months so I haven't had any performance issues just yet. I love all the features on the steering wheel and the seat adjusters.

Acura SUV highly recommended.
I bought this car two years ago. A had the same make previously and never had any issues. Very safe, spacious and reliable car. Highly recommend to my friends, employees and family. I am looking forward to upgrading my car for the same make but newer version.

Basic review on outer view of car.
Reasonably comfortable, a little large for myself a petite woman, but useful up to date technology. Gas per mileage pretty decent, scratches easily on paint. Good amount of adjustable features and seat position for comfortable view of road while driving.

Acura rdx. White. Sunroof. Technology.
No problems. I love my car. I have had my car for about 6 months and cannot complain about anything. My car drives great and a lot smoother than my last car. I dislike having a car payment but I am happy to have a reliable car to drive. Acura makes great cars so I wanted to stick with them.

Very little road noise and comfortable to drive.
I have had no problems with the vehicle. I find the vehicle comfortable to drive as it drives like a car but sits a little higher. On the highway I like that there is very little road noise which has not been my experience with other cars. This is my third Acura that I have purchased since college and will continue to purchase them in the future.

My Acura rd. Is by far 1 car I will hold onto 5 more years.
My Acura rd. Is sporty and a very comfortable ride, so far no problem with my car and had to oil change maybe like 3 times out of like 1 year and 6 months, economical in gas so I would recommend this car to anybody.
