The 2017 BMW 3 Series lasts around 200,000 miles with some brake wear and fuel injector issues reported. At $26,990 to $55,944, it’s expensive, but worth the money for a fun sports sedan with a reasonably luxurious interior.

The car looks good and handles very well.
The car is amazing to drive. Strong engine and the handling on the road is perfect. I really cannot think of many negatives besides the gas mileage is not that great. The trim is very classic with a good mix of modern technology. This is a car in which you will absolutely love.

A cool feature is key fob has a key that locks the glove box.
I am constantly on the road because I travel for work and so having something entry level sporty but also luxury us amazing. It is got a great audio display. It is definitely for smaller body people. My friend who is 6'4 has a rough time with leg room. I do not like that there is no unlock button for the doors except on the key. Great sunroof except it takes some time getting use to the two clicks to get something to happen.

Best car! Fun to drive, stylish and fun!
No problems! Smooth ride. Quiet running car! Heated seats are a must for the east coast winters! Keyless entry and all around great vehicle! I would recommend BMW to anyone looking to purchase a reliable, fun, great looking vehicle, inside and out! Perfect!

It is very reliable and attracts.
What I like about the car is that it is easy to drive. I like how smooth it is. I also like the look of the car... What I dislike is that it is basic. No rear view c camera and the seats are leather ( too hot in the summer and too cold in winter)..

BMW 320i is one of the best car. The performance is very good and satisfying.
It runs in a crowded class, but the 3 series is one of the best. BMW practically invented the compact luxury car decades ago, and today's 3 series advances that heritage. The petrol line-up kicks off with the 320i, a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 184hp and 300 nm of torque. It is capable of completing the 0-62mph sprint in 7.1 seconds and will go on to reach a top speed of 149mph.

The car is great in the snow and is very economical on gas. I absolutely love the car

I owned BMW 320i sedan. It is a superb car. The comfortness it gives is great.
First, if I talk about my car's performance, it is really have a good mileage. And as it for brand value, BMW provides comfortness and various features that makes the driving more smooth. The ergonomic design helps to sit painlessly. I can rely on its service. After sales service is good, BMW here again prove its mark.

For a BMW, this car leases much cheaper than other cars of lesser standards.
The car is really nice and drives easily. There is enough room and it comes with a sunroof. The gas mileage is also pretty good. I don't really have any complaints about it right now.

Excellent BMW 330 Xin series.
Excellent luxury sport vehicle. Fun to drive, no problems but expensive to maintain that is why I leased. Beautiful interior and color and performs nicely. Gas mileage is excellent even for an all wheel drive vehicle. Dealerships are helpful when you need maintenance.

Check your care of your vehicle because of the year.
Right now my car does not have any issues. I get the smoke check when its suppose to be for. And I check it before it gives me problems. And also take it so they can turn the tires around every season as well too. I recommend to every new driver to always check it before other things happen to it.

Name: BMW. Model: series-3. Buy: 2017. Model number: 320i. It is very good car.
It is a very good car to drive my experiences do not say it out loud but there’s now an economy version of the BMW 3 series sedan. Well, a more economical to buy and drive version. It is the 320i and it comes with a slightly less powerful version of the 2.0 liter engine found in the 328i and a 36 mpg (highway) EPA rating..It is a very good car.
accountCircle Vito B
BMW are crack a jack of the lack of de way, I just wanted to say hey.
This car sucks, it only was useful one time then it broke down on me because I didn't pay for it to be repaired when the seller said it was in perfect condition, I never thought I would get such hollow realization until I thought about getting it and trying my best to get it and when I have it, I will be the best character on there.
accountCircle gail s
This is a safe car that is still fun to drive. It gets good gas mileage while still having the power to push you back in your seat.
I like that the vehicle is a lease and that I do not have to worry about any maintenance on it. It's comfortable and gets good gas mileage. It's small enough to fit in parking spots. I do not like paying the bill every month. I've found a few things in this particular car to be cheaper made than the previous one I had. That's discouraging to see the company cutting corners.
accountCircle Kendall S
The BMW 320i needs more storage!
The storage room and in the vehicle is very minimal. There should be more room for everyday items. I will not be getting another 3 series for this reason. I also do not like the radio display. Also, the glove compartment could be bigger. It is an expensive car and should feel like one.
accountCircle Itai I
It runs in a crowded class, but this 3 series is one of the best.
There's still no problems. It is also giving top-notch performance. Also, it got a good looks and build quality. Not to mention, it is also quite comfortable. This one also is a all rear-wheel drive, with the exception of the xdrive all-wheel-drive model. However, if you do look after them they should be perfectly reliable.

What Do Critics Say About the BMW 3 Series?

  • Consumer Reports says the BMW 3 Series is still a benchmark for a small sports sedan, with good owner satisfaction scores.
  • Edmunds rates the BMW 3 Series at 4/5, enjoying the sharp handling, but doesn’t like the limited storage space for personal items.
  • Kelley Blue Book users give the BMW 3 Series a 4.5/5, praising the luxurious interior, but owners don’t like the lack of advanced technology.

What Common Problems Does the 2017 BMW 3 Series Have?

Common problems found on the 2017 BMW 3 Series include excessive brake wear, clogged fuel injectors, along with check engine lights. Overall, these problems are similar to many other luxury cars on the market, although since it’s a German car repair costs are higher than many competitors.

Excessive brake wear is the most widespread complaint on the 2017 BMW 3 Series, showing up in the first 15,000 miles. If you brake heavily, the front brake pads tend to wear out quicker than in some other cars. Replacing the brake pads costs around $300, while a new set of rotors can cost over $600 if there has been damage.

Clogged fuel injectors are another problem mentioned by some 2017 3 Series owners at around 50,000 miles. Cheap fuel, in particular, is known to clog the relatively small high-pressure injectors in the 3 Series. Replacing the fuel injectors costs around $1,200, depending on local labor rates.

Check engine lights have also shown up on some 2017 BMW 3 Series models in the first 35,000 miles. There are dozens of reasons a check engine light may turn on. The best way to determine the source of the problem is by using an OBD-II scan tool to read the computer for codes. From there, repairs can cost $10 to $1,000, depending on the problem.

There are three recalls on the 2017 BMW 3 Series, which is similar to many other cars. The most serious recall is for a high-pressure fuel pump failure which can cause the engine to stall. Other recalls include a coolant leak in the EGR module, which increases the risk of a fire. BMW will replace the parts on affected models for free.

How Long Will the 2017 BMW 3 Series Last?

A well-maintained 2017 BMW 3 Series can last around 200,000 miles, which is shorter than the long-lasting Lexus IS. Regular annual maintenance costs are a little lower than some other entry-level luxury cars, according to data provided by Repair Pal, at $460 per year.

As a used BMW 3 Series reaches 100,000 miles, and depending on the vehicle history, owners should be prepared to replace the brake pressure sensor for $275, the crankshaft position sensor costing $450, along with the A/C refrigerant lines which cost $800.

How Is the Technology?

Standard entertainment technology is good, with a 6.5-inch display. Optional upgrades include a larger 8.8-inch screen along with a more powerful stereo system.

There is no standard advanced safety technology on the 2017 3 Series.

Optional driver assistance features include:

  • Automatic high beam headlights
  • Head-up display

The blue book fair purchase price ranges from $26,990 to $55,944, making it more than a Volvo S60 or Cadillac ATS. When new, the price range was $33,450 to $64,000. What Colors Does the BMW 3 Series Come In?

How Comfortable Is the BMW 3 Series?

The 2017 BMW 3 Series is often praised for its high level of comfort, making it a pleasurable choice for both drivers and passengers. BMW has always put a strong emphasis on delivering a luxurious experience, and this model is no exception. The seats are ergonomically designed and are adjustable in multiple ways to suit individuals of various sizes. Upholstered in premium materials, these seats provide superior comfort during long rides and good support for spirited driving.

Regarding ride comfort, the 3 Series delivers an impressively smooth ride, absorbing most bumps and road imperfections with ease, thanks to its well-tuned suspension. This characteristic provides a relaxing experience even on longer journeys or rougher road surfaces.

Moreover, the cabin is well-insulated, successfully minimizing wind and road noise, which adds to the overall serene driving environment. The climate control system, too, is highly efficient, maintaining a comfortable temperature within the cabin irrespective of the outside conditions. Notably, the 2017 BMW 3 Series offers plenty of legroom and headroom, even for taller occupants, which significantly contributes to its comfort level.

How Much Storage Space Does the BMW 3 Series Have?

The 2017 BMW 3 Series, known for its blend of luxury and performance, also provides a significant amount of storage space for drivers and passengers. The trunk offers a capacity of 13 cubic feet, which is fairly standard for a small luxury car. This space is quite substantial, allowing room for practical items such as a couple of suitcases for a weekend trip, a baby stroller, or even multiple sets of golf clubs.

For those occasions when more space is needed, the vehicle’s rear seats have a fold-down feature, significantly expanding storage capacity. This allows for the transportation of larger items like a bicycle, a flat-screen TV, or larger furniture items. Additionally, throughout the cabin of the 3 Series, there are numerous compartments, pockets, and cup holders designed for easy storage of personal items like smartphones, water bottles, and small handbags. So, despite its sleek and compact design, the 2017 BMW 3 Series proves to be a practical vehicle with ample storage space.

What Are the Differences Between Years?

The sixth generation of the BMW 3 Series was introduced for the 2011 model year, and will be replaced by the seventh generation starting in 2019.

2015: Standard Bluetooth audio added to all models, with heated front seats available as a standalone option.

2016: Minor exterior styling changes and updated interior changes, 335i model renamed to 340i.

2017: Standard M Sport package on 340i models, wireless charging and Apple CarPlay are now standalone options.

2018: Minor adjustments to packages and standard features.

2019: Fully redesigned for the seventh generation with new styling, engines, and technology features.

2020: Six-cylinder engine returns for the M340i model.

2021: New 330e plug-in hybrid introduced, wireless Android Auto integration offered.

How Does the BMW 3 Series Compare to the Competition?

The 2017 BMW 3 Series is a great compact luxury sedan, although you trade some of the most high-end interior features for better handling and performance than most of the competition.

The BMW 4 Series is another popular small car from BMW which is about $1,500 more. Both the BMW 3 Series and the BMW 4 Series are very similar to each other, while the 3 Series is a sedan and the 4 Series is offered as a coupe and convertible. We recommend the BMW 3 Series since it’s more practical, although both are very similar, and it comes down to personal preference.

The Audi A4 is a competitor which is available for about $1,000 less. Where the Audi A4 stands out is with a stronger all-wheel drive system, while the BMW 3 Series is a bit more responsive and fun to drive. We recommend the BMW 3 Series since it’s more exciting to drive, yet it’s worth testing both to see which you prefer.

BMW review: features that make it comfy.
This car is very comfortable and is great on gas mileage. It is reliable and has many features to help guide you on a day to day basis. For example, it has a back up camera which comes in handy when I need to back into spots or parallel park. It also has seat warmers for when it is cold outside and you need to warm up. I haven't really had any problems with the car. I am prone to flats and love that I have run flats so it takes the worry of how I'll get somewhere after getting a flat. And love the feel of the car. It is comfortable but sporty. I also love the different features like the eco mode so I can save on gas.

All around good and enjoyable vehicle.
My vehicle is safe, fun to drive, and very reliable. BMWs historically are poor when it comes to interior design and storage, but it all balances out to have such an enjoyable car. Additionally, routine maintenance and service at the dealership is usually a pleasure and world class.

My vehicle is BMW series 3. It look like modern and luxury.
Sometime my vehicle door cannot adjust properly. Adjust the door striker on the door jamb if necessary and sometimes air condition performance is not good. Warning lights. A warning or check engine light is the most common issue for vehicle problem. But everything in vehicle good and I satisfied my vehicle.

It is a good car and easy to control.
It balances sharp handling with a ride quality that won't beat you up. Engine choices offer power, smoothness and fuel efficiency. Interior is upscale and spacious, with logical, easy to use controls. But storage for small personal item is limited. It has no more technology.

The driving is smooth and relaxing.
My car is wonderful! The driving is very smooth and relaxing. The seating is very comfortable and nice looking. The dashboard is very clean looking and well designed. The car is a little bit of a high maintenance. Usually there’s nothing wrong with it or not many issues going on.
accountCircle Yvette R on March 10, 2021
It looks really cool and it's comfortable.
This car is really good, modern and provides good performance. But it is not efficient, the spare parts are costly and always not available. Otherwise the car is pretty good. Seats are comfortable and music system is satisfactory, if the spare parts were available and was not costly it could be better.

It can be your best decision to buy BMW 320i comparing other options available!
I personally liked my BMW 320i sedan for its powerful engine performance. Agile handling of this luxurious car is pretty impressive for me. It has spacious cabin what makes it comfortable for daily uses. And its intuitive infotainment system is so good that I suggested a lot of my friends to buy this beauty with the beast without wasting any time on watching other luxurious cars review on internet. Though I liked this model but I also acknowledge that it has some features which I personally didn't liked that much. I think 320i sedan has some black of proper safety issues. Also comparing to other options with this price it is engine should have some more to give. However I still think BMW 325i sedan is one of the best choice for it is price range and available options. Rest is depends on your choice, what you prefer, what you want in your car, and also what you want other people to think about your car choice. Think and decide what really matters to you!

This is best car I ever use. I love this car. I love my car design. It give me best performance and stability. I give best oil on my car so that it gives me best engine performance. This car good enough to shoot me 0-60 km on average 6 seconds. If I will buy a car I will definitely buy BMW car again.

I just want to say my is fantastic. Overall the car has a great performance.
I love my BMW. It drives well. I love the handling. I have had no issues with my car. It is very comfortable with a very stylish interior. The navigation is great too. It has the real time traffic information too with commuting. The sound system is also so great.

I got better service. I love the brand very much.
My BMW is an x3. It is by far the best car I have had since my last x3. I needed to drive a Cadillac and Acura to really appreciate the BMW. It drives smoothly and with power. It has great gadgets and a wonderful sound system. After five months, it appears to be getting between 24 & 25 mpg. The seat are really comfortable and there is plenty of room in the back. I looked at a Cadillac xt4 but my golf clubs wouldn't fit - they do in the x3. The blue paint is beautiful. I really enjoy this car and feel very safe when I drive it.

Great car for a busy family.
It's A great car: fast acceleration, comfortable seats, unique design, fluidity of driving, lots of space (always load it with lots of groceries), the only downside is the security system: the back doors block when you get out of the car. Also the feature of hands free trunk opener do not really work.
accountCircle Rudy R on February 16, 2021
It's a safe ride, comfortable, easy to drive and park has eco friendly mode.
It's a smooth ride, great on gas, and the dealership where I bought it takes care of us, on oil changes, car washes and even offer you a ride if you need one.

Beautifully crafted piece of German engineering.
I love my car. It runs so smooth you almost feel as if you are floating down the road. Super convenient and especially helpful that it tells you exactly what is wrong, if anything, with the vehicle. So specific, in fact, it will tell you exactly where you have a light out: ie. Which side, headlight or brake light or running light.

Comfortable, attractive, safe to ride.
BMW 320i has long been a popular entry-level prestige machine and, with its good looks, build quality, and engineering, it is not hard to see why. European cars often get a reputation for being unreliable when people used to driving basic Japanese cars do not take them for a service or drive them like a farm vehicle.

BMW 3 series sedan. Beautiful headlight and indicator.
Overall it is good. I just love this. It has advanced technology device system that in 2017 it is the only car to have this features. Reliability is very good. It gives the best mileage. And very comfortable that everyone will love this model. This was the best model in 2017.

I love my BMW - never fails always reliable and dependable.
I have no problems with my BMW comfortable stylish. I only wish it would use regular gas. Interior is very comfortable considering it is not a big car, I know that my car is very reliable and know that considering I lie in so. Fl and the temperature has been I the high 90's my air conditioning never fails and, y car will be cool in a minute or so.

Interior leather is cream while the exterior is black delivering a clean look.
My vehicle has had one previous owner, but has never had any problems with engine wear and tear or maintenance beyond oil and gas. I would recommend this car for anyone who wants a luxury feel. With a sporty drivability. Not only is it fast in sport mode but has an eco function that allows for gas saving ability.

Safe, reliable, comfortable vehicles.
The car is very safe. It drives well in all elements. It had a eco option as well as ad sport option so adaptable for every driver and condition. The leather seats are easy to care for and are comfortable with many sitting positions. The fold down seats allow me to pick up and transport larger items that would not normally fit in a sedan. Road noise is minimal.

I love how luxury and sophisticated the overall look of the vehicle.
The BMW x3 performance is excellent. The steering on the vehicle is smooth. Not a very comfortable vehicle for long trips, the appearance of the seats it beautiful how ever the seats are not very soft. I love the speed warning setting, the eco friendliness, the digital display of the speedometer, however I dislike that it does not come with remote start.

My car drives very smooth and I haven't had any problems with it. The seats are really comfortable and you can set the driver seat to your specifications. The gas mileage is very good too. The Bluetooth feature comes in handy for hands free driving and very nice.
