Maintenance
2001 750il sport package// a must in routine maintenance. It’s like you take care of it. It does the same with you. Heater hose was my biggest problem. As for performance. There’s nothing like it. Top quality ride. And Comfort. The V12 model is super quick and crazy fast. I believe still it’s From 99-01. Was the best performance models. Long trips are fun. (If maintenance is up to date.). You have to commit yourself to one if going to purchase. Parts are not cheep. (Recommended getting into a BMW CLUB) for cheaper maintenance cost. It really is the ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE.

Bang for your buck, luxury on a budget.
Extremely comfortable and roomy. Smooth riding. Luxurious. Lots of power. Plenty of trunk space. Cold air conditioning. Very reliable. Great value. I enjoy taking this car on long road trips as well as just cruising around town. Decent gas mileage for a v8.

Fast Car, smooth ride, plenty of room
Smooth riding, fast car, low to the ground comfortable to ride in. I love that the seat belts are opposite to normal makes it easier for a child's car Seat the best feature is the automatic windows on all windows in the car. The mileage could be better but not bad for a bigger sedan

Maintenance/knowledge of BMW
I have a 2001 sport got it from a neighbor who paid 4500 but didn't know anything about it. Fortunately I worked on BMW's and the dealer for 18 years and have owned all models even the ones not sold in north America imported 2 from Japan. There amazing cars but you must keep up with maintenance and have some knowledge of how they operate. The car was sitting for 4 years and had some rust on the rockers unfortunately the previous owner bought it new from a dealer I knew so I got the entire history of the car single driver rear seats were never sat in the leather still had the rough white powder from when it's new the arm rest emergency kit where never used unfortunately the guy never bothered to spray corrosion inhibitor to the undercarriage so there was surface rust on allot of the parts. After a week of owning it I changed the oil and it was d***y think nova good sighn that was lack of maintenance and sitting too long after 2 weeks the chain guides broke I spent 5 days tearing down the engine to replace it overall after suspension tires and still needs body work and some paint I can't complain 800 for the car .I drive 700 kms on a weekend with no problems I've done this several times. My point is the people who owned it previous didn't take care of it only reason why this happened. Even though it's the nicest model BMW built. Its reaching up there in age so its either I keep spending money to replace old parts or rebuild it entirely and keep it as a weekend car what most people do. These cars are going up in value. And finding another one with cosmos black and tobacco interior with chrome trim inside is very rare. I almost got my hands on a purple and amethyst carpet with ivory seats purple piping. Unfortunately the guy blew the engine and transmission but it was still worth it. Had a really ugly body kit on it but any dont complain about and 18 to 20 year old vehicle these cars were built to last compare them to a new car today it has everything folding mirrors blinds pdc giant have screen and the ones in Europe have active cruise back in 97. Cars only came with these features in the last 5 years I'm not included front side and curtain airbags 12 speaker sound system telephone hand controls steptronic transmission with manual where are you going to find that for 2 to 5000 for a decent one .

Literally, falling apart.
There are things, literally, falling off of the car and breaking without being touched. The front turn light fell out and was hanging by a wire. The ashtray on the driver's side rear door broke and no one ever used it. The slide out cup holder mechanism, when slightly tapped, flew completely out and we can't get it back in. The front BMW emblem has come off at least twice. The window mechanisms have broken on two different windows. That's all I can recall off hand but I'm sure I could list more.

This vehicle although comfortable, when traveling with children, great on gas.
This is the second BMW 740i that I have had in a row, and I liked the classic luxury sedan best. My second / current 740i is a sport version, and I can feel the difference, it drives less smooth, and feels less luxury. If I were to buy another one, I would definitely choose the original 740i model, without sport enhancements.

The overall comfort is the best thing about this car it has premium leather seats and luxury functions like back massage and lumbar support
My Bimmer is an excellent car for its age! It needs a bit of work here and there but overall a very solid car. It runs very smooth and can keep up with the best of them!

Best car I've ever owned!
Bought my 740iL 18 years new 2 weeks ago, and other than minor cosmetics and a wheel alignment, it runs like new. All the motors work for the sunroof, seats, side view mirrors and steering wheel.I have owned 13 Volkswagons over the course of my life, and I think those were preparing me to drive this. When they say it is the ultimate driving machine, please believe them. This is way more fun than a VW, and being 6ft tall, there is enough room for first class seating.

It drives really well and will get you where you need to go, as long as you take care of it.
I like my vehicle a lot. Before this BMW, I had another 740i, and it was my first BMW, and I loved it. This one is the sport edition, and I don't like it as much as the first.

My BMW that I bought to take to school.
It is just really old and run down. It makes a weird noise when I drive it and the gas mileage is bad. It is rusty and does not drive well in the winter. We bought it in bad shape but that is probably because it is 18 years old. It is just a car for college so it is not the worst thing in the world it is just not a good car in general.

Class Never Goes Out of Style.
Reliable, great performance, powerful, roomy, great sound system, good on gas especially on the highway. Classy looking car. Power seats, door locks, moonroof, cruise control, power seats, tinted windows. Power door locks, touring package, smooth riding vehicle

The 7 series has the most comfortable seats i've ever sat in. They have lumbar support and cushion and headrest tilt. Even the back seat is so roomy and comfy
I love the 7 series BMW.....Roomy, smooth rides, you need to keep up on the maintenance for them to last.

Why I like my 2001 BMW 7 series.
I love my car. Besides it being older and needing some cosmetic repairs inside it is great. I get great gas mileage. Right around 30 miles a gallon. My car is room roomy and luxurious. Besides being able to drive over 500 miles on a full tank of gas it does not hesitate to sit you back in your seat if you press the gas pedal to hard. Overall, BMW did a pretty good job with my 740il.
