It's overall versatility.

The Avalanche was built on the Suburban platform and therefore is extremely comfortable, especially on long trips. It seats 4 comfortably and can squeeze 5 when required. It came with rear video entertainment with headphones which is good for families. The convertible bed is perfect for the DIYer who occasionally needs to transport plywood, studs, and even the occasional appliance or lawn mower. And the lockable/weatherproof bed cover allows secure transport of tools, groceries, etc. It handles well empty, loaded, and towing; and, the shift on the fly 4wd makes it great in the snow. The only complaint I have after 13 years is the poor gas mileage of the gasoline engine which was the only option. It would be 5+ stars with an economical diesel engine. Since they stopped manufacturing them, I will keep mine till the engine dies and then put in a modern diesel.

My dependable and easy to maneuver truck.

It rides really good on the road. With increase in gas it costs about $60. 00 to completely fill up, but lasts if you do not have far to travel to and from work. I keep my oil changed and tires checked and rotated at each oil change. I am a stickler about maintenance, so if something goes wrong on the panel board I address it immediately. I like my truck because I can use it to haul off things and pick up furniture. It is really not a lot of room in this vehicle. Two can sit up front and three in the back. That's it. I like the dual heat/ac controls and it lets you know the percentage of life on your oil before its time for a change. I have never had to use the air bags so I am not real familiar with those.

Long-lasting & dependable vehicle.

Even though my Chevy avalanche has over 200, 000 miles, it is still very reliable and dependable. It is comfortable and easy to drive. I feel safe driving a truck, especially when it comes to winter driving. I like knowing it has four wheel drive when it is needed. I also like knowing I can do more with a truck than I can with a car, such as pulling a trailer, and hauling more things in the back.
