It has a ton of air bags.
The "distress" handle helps you get in the truck, but if you are in an accident you have to lean toward the windshield and airbags to grab it, putting yourself in more danger.

Best SUV GM Built
The only thing wrong with this vehicle is ………………… GM stopped making it. Way more useful than any other SUV. Rides like a long wheel base Lux car, nice power ! Start building it AGAIN. I'll lineup tomorrow to order

Happy avalanche ownership.
With all the whistles and bells available at the time, it is like riding down the road on a couch. We take excellent care of the vehicle and have been rewarded with a very reliable ride. Over the years, it has kept it is value while still being a serviceable truck.

It gets good mileage which is important when one does a lot of driving.
I love the way it looks, handles in all weather. It has space for passengers and also for hauling cargo. I like the fact that I sit higher up, not like in small cars where you feel like you are barely off the ground. It is a safe vehicle slso.

Trump wins again!you know the pres rides around in "the beast" made by chevy
In a heart beat accept for mine I'll never sell or tread it. It's paid for and nothing is wrong with it service guys at my dealer want to buy it ? Rides like a caddy, garaged, doesn't go out in ice or snow or any time there is salt or chemicals in the road. It's a Goodwood a keeper?

2011 avalanche luxury truck.
Very versatile truck that drives like a luxury car. Comfortable as they come. This is my second one and would buy another if Chevrolet ever decides to bring it back. The creature comforts are more than adequate. Plus last but not least the 5.3 engine has more than enough power to get light to medium work done like pulling trailers or hauling plywood.

Great drive
Absolutely love my Avalanche! Comfortable to both ride in and drive. We have over 132,000 miles on it and no hefty repairs, just general maintenance. Beautiful color. If GM started making them again I'd be all for a new one!!!

Cracked Dash
Major GM problem with dash cracking. Mine started 30 days after purchase from local Chev dealer. Refused to fix it so the superglued it only for it to break again first cold weather. Very poor design and they know it. Concerned with safety issue in event of an accident and flying plastic debris.

Overall great vehicle no problems would suggest it to other buyers.
Overall the vehicle does its purpose for me. Nothing is really wrong with it besides minor things that happens to any vehicle. Reliably is great. Gets me back and forth to where I have to go. Comfort is not to bad could be better comfort with the seats.

Great road trip vehicle and off road.
Runs good can tow very well and good on gas. It is very roomy and fun to drive on long road trips. Driver cockpit is very comfortable and great music. The CD player is one of a kind it also has good power for a v6. I would recommend this car if your a truck guy.

The car that moves somewhat up the hill.
The issues with the car is found in the movement of the motor. Otherwise it drives really well and features many unique features on it. The air conditioning is also very useful as a feature. The car also moves a few feet at a time so that helps with the accessibility of it!

This vehicle has had many minor fixes and parts replaced.
The energy usage is not really environmentally friendly. The seats are comfortable, but difficult to adjust comfortably. Sometimes there are issues with opening and closing the doors and they very often get stuck. The air conditioning is average. Overall this vehicle is average.
accountCircle Tasha M
It has a very small seating area. It runs on very little gas.
It's very reliable. It doesn't need a lot of gas. It very crowded

I have had three avalanches, this one is the worst.
The chrome is peeling off the wheels. I have had to replace two door handles. Already replaced two ball joints one upper and one lower. The dealer is no help, runs up the bill and says it is normal. The paint is terrible last count it has 53 paint chips including the top of the truck.
