Practical, Safe, and Agile-- 4/5!

This car is great for getting around! I've had to replace the engine (under warranty) because the previous owner was very hard on it, but have had absolutely no problems with the running of the car now that the rebuilt engine has been installed. There are intermittent issues with the wiring on the rear windows, and on occasion the windows will not go down as desired due to the wiring problems. New parts such as headlight casings have been fairly easy to install without a mechanic, making most basic repairs fairly manageable as far as time and effort, and more affordable than other cars I've owned. The moon roof had a track issue when I bought it, but since the dealer installed a new track there have been no leakage issues with the car. All the features are easily reachable from the driver's seat, making it a decent drive. I would have preferred a central control panel such as I had in the Saturn Ion I owned prior to buying the Cobalt, but the driver's side console is not as bulky as other cars I've driven and so doesn't block viewing through the front windshield. Visibility is high in this car, and the automatic mirror adjustment controls from the driver's side door make it easy to change even when driving if they need to be moved for broader sight lines. Overall this is a great value for the money, the only major issue is that the gas mileage isn't the greatest (but still not a gas guzzler). I'd definitely buy this as a first car for a new driver, I feel very safe inside the design, it's maneuverable enough to dodge idiots looking at their phones instead of the road, and the gas mileage while not the best is definitely good enough to still be practical.

Great long lasting vehicle for individuals

Bought car with 5600 miles on it now has 256789 miles. I drive it daily because it uses very little gas. I have had to take it in for 2 recalls the seatbelt and power steering. I faithfully keep up routine maintenance. I have replaced battery once, a front wheel bearing, and the drive belt was loose and I replaced alternator. It's a 5 speed 2 door coupe makes a great work car but don't recommend this make for individuals with children not much leg room in back seat and awkward for anyone over 3 ft to climb in and out of. I use this vehicle to run errands and to drive to work but also to take my 3 dogs to vet or parks because my senior beagle and my smaller dog can get in and out easily with my 113 pound rescue pit already in the back seat. I live in a country setting and even on wet or snowy roads it handles very well. On steep hills sometimes covered in mud I have never had any power loss even with the high mileage on it. Its 13 years old I drive through a small stream to get to my home and it has one small spot starting to rust on the inside of fender but in my state they use salt/cinder heavily on our roadways.

2005 Chevrolet Cobalt--Base Model with silver paint and cruise control

I have had my car for 4 years now, and I have not had any significant problems with it. I've just had to do the standard oil changes, air filter changes, and tune-ups. It has pretty decent performance. It has really good gas mileage--if I take a 4-hour trip, it only uses about half of my gas tank, which I think is really good. I do feel, however, that you have to press really hard on my gas pedal to get it to go faster, but that's my only performance issue. I have the base model, so there were no special features, but it has the gear shift in the center console and it has a pretty neat dial for the windshield wipers that lets you change the speed on the different settings. The trunk is also very large, so it can hold a lot of groceries or items. The car is very comfortable, but I do find myself slowly slipping down in my seat, so periodically I need to readjust myself. Overall, though, I love my car a lot and I find it very reliable.

2005 Chevy Cobalt: reliable but lacks comfort

The performance of this vehicle has been good during the time I've owned it. I purchased it used and I have had very few problems with it at all! The only issue I have encountered was a need to replace the battery and it overheated once. Both of those things occurred within the 5 years I have had the car. In that way it has been very reliable! However, the seats are not very comfortable and the car was definitely not made for larger people as it is very compact. The car also does not come with an aux cord compatibility, which is understandable for the time the car was released. This car receives good gas mileage and it gets me where I need to go.

GREAT gas mileage and fast like a sports car

I like the mileage per gallon I get out of it, It's cheaper to drive. I like how it gets up to speed quickly, like a sports car. It's the perfect size for us as a couple, yet when needed, we can still fit 2 or 3 people in the backseat. The one thing I don't like is, since I had my leg amputation, I have been unable to drive it since there's not enough room on the floorboard to maneuver my feet to be able to reach the gas pedal, but I do have an adapter now for left foot usage, I just need to get out and practice using it. Therefore when my dad's estate is settled, I will be buying a bigger vehicle, but will still keep the Cobalt

My cobalt is my baby I love her and hope she rides forever.

I bought my car 5 years ago for only 4,000 already seen its days, so I thought. With over 200,000 miles on her she's still driving just fine. It will be a hard car to get rid of she's done good for me. Always been reliable never had too many problems just had I replace the brakes. I use it to get back and forth from work mostly. Driving about an hour round trip. I love the radio and speaker system. But it has roll down windows which I am not too fond of. I am looking for a new car at the moment because it is time but I will keep my cobalt in case of emergency.

- Thalia D

It has been the most reliable and low maintenance car I have ever owned.

Since the purchase of my 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt in 2005, it has been very reliable. It is very easy to maintain and the performance is still very good. I love the stereo sound in my car. I have encountered no problems with my car except for two recalls which had to be attended to. This is the first Chevrolet I have ever purchased and it's the only car I have purchased and have kept for this long without any problems. It drives just as smooth now as it did when first purchased. My next car will definitely be a Chevrolet!

A review of the 2005 Chevy Cobalt

2005 Chevy Cobalt is an okay vehicle. It seems to have a lot of electrical problems, where check engine lights and other lights such as the airbag will come on. This typically happens when it's rainy outside. I personally do not like the two door part of this car, I would rather a four door as it would be easier to get in and out of. Lastly, I do not like the alarm system. My FOB broke and I don't have enough money to replace it, so every time I open my door the alarm sounds because it can only be turned off by the FOB.

My cobalt and our journey.

The car is smaller so it helps navigating around the city. I am a bigger guy and the interior is snug to me but not uncomfortably so. The auto locks in the car have also stopped working as well as a weird electrical system that if someone slams my passenger door or trunk the tail lights and dash lights go out. Most likely just old wiring after a pretty normal wear and tear on the car. Other than those problems the car has needed little to no work and has gotten me to around 125k miles without major repairs.

- Kevin D

Perfect for a family of four, dependable, very good on gas mileage.

My car has been very dependable, car parts aren't expensive, and very good gas mileage. It's the perfect size for a family of 4. Rides comfortably also. It's equipped with multiple airbags not just in the front. Trunk is also bigger than you would think. The back doors have child lock that you can easily turn on or off. Also has 3 of the pieces that car seats with the hook in belts hook up to in the backseat. I have been very satisfied with the performance and reliability of my cobalt. Glad we bought it!

- Page S

The Chevy Cobalt is a relatively good car if you take care of it.

The Chevy Cobalt is a relatively good car that has a few weird quirks. The battery is not located under the hood, but it is in the trunk. There is no dipstick to check for transmission fuel. You have to take it to the dealer to have them check it about every 75 thousand miles. The bumper is a bit fragile but that car overall is strong if you take care of it and do regular oil changes. I have about 188 thousand miles on my car and it still runs fine.

- Lisa D

It is a very reliable vehicle and it has lasted for quite some time.

It has lasted a long time, we already have over 150k miles on it. The ac could work better and not leak so much condensation and our power windows stopped working for some reason. Gas mileage is pretty reasonable and it only costs $30 to fill the tank completely when it is on empty. Other than the issues with the ac and windows I do not see much else wrong with the vehicle and the fact that it is still running after so many miles is pretty awesome.

- Austin B

Even as it ages, it's still a very reliable car.

The car is a 4 door 2005 Chevrolet cobalt. It has around 70, 000 miles on it. Kept up with basic maintenance, there have been no issues or problems with the transmission. I have had some of the usual issues that cobalt's seem to have. Mostly with struts, the ignition switch and a few minor electrical glitches. The car still runs like new and always manages to get around 40 mpg on the highway. Its vary basic in features but, very dependable as well.

- Destiny C

It's a cheap car, but still gets you to the places you need to go.

I like AND dislike the cobalt for the same reason. It was/is a cheap car. Many things stopped working within a few year of owning it. It also had some recalls, however I feel like you get what you pay for. It has lasted me many years, and gets me where I need to go. Even if things like the speakers stop working, windows won't roll down, back door won't open, etc. it's still running after all these years, and that's what matters to me.

- Don R

Perfect day to day vehicle

Reliable car, great daily vehicle. Base model had decent features. Very comfortable car for day to day use. Never had to commute very far, so I mostly enjoyed the stereo, good air conditioning, and plenty of room. Great storage in the trunk. Was my first new car and I've owned it for nearly 15 years with minimal money spent to maintain it. Easy to clean and the 4 door was great for driving with passengers.

Chevrolet cobalt 2005 LS performance review

This Chevrolet cobalt is overall a lovely car for a college student. Great gas saver and reliability is out of the chart. I rarely have motor problems but it does come with AC unit. Tends to leak inside when I use the AC all day but overall it is a great car and I don't spend much on it. It's doesn't have many features since it's an LS but it does drive extremely well and can bring me to LA and back

- Samuel L

2005 Chevy Cobalt LS A/C and Heat works! Bluetooth as well! New Stereo in it

This car is a trooper, but comes with a lot of problems. My check engine light has been stuck on, my no traction control light is stuck on, and my no abs light is stuck on. My alarm goes off every time I open a door and my doors unlock and lock by themselves. This car sucks, and continues to let me down. But it does run and drive good, drives pretty far w no problems so I guess it's okay

- Princess S

Dependable and reliable transportation.

I have never had any major problems with my 2005 cobalt, I love the way it rides, it's smoothness and reliability. Due to some recalls I'd take my car in for the required work but never had an issue with my car. I am still driving it and do not even want to ever let it go for an alternate car. It looks good even the paint is original. Gas mileage is great too, want to keep it forever.

- Isabel A

This has been a dependable car that has given me very few issues over the last 5 years

I like that my vehicle has been dependable, is paid off, is a nice color, and still in good condition. I dislike that some of the features no longer work. For example, the cruise control, auto off on turn signals, and settings 1 and 3 on the fan. I also dislike that it is a 2 door car....I have a toddler and have a hard time getting her in and out of the car seat in the back.

- KIM P

Besides the recalls this car has needed minimal basic repairs even at the age of 13 years old at this point.

This make is a basic. It is comfortable and gets me around town. There have been several recalls on this car but was handled in a timely fashion. Downfall of this car is it is basic and at this point 13 years old. I have had problems with the blinkers going out every year and the light bulbs needing to be replaced due to water seeping into tail light. It is a durable car .

- Lisa L

Great smaller reliable stylish car.

Only problem is the paint started peeling off way too early. It dives very good. This car also drives very smooth and really low to ground. The. Tires for this car are very inexpensive and seem to wear well and I noticed that I keep very good tread on this car and these tires for a lot more time than any other car or truck or SUV that my family has ever had.

- Christy B

Small backseat. A little hard to fit car seats.

A basic car. Does not do well in cold weather or snow. We've had issues with the traction control and battery draining for no reason. We're a family of 4 with 2 kids in car seats. It is a little small for a family car (hard to fit car seats in). We make it work. The trunk is nice and roomy though. So far it has been a decent car and not too many problems.

2005 Used Chevrolet Cobalt

I bought the car from a used lot for just above 1000. It runs perfect for the price we paid for it, it has some issues such as the drivers side door panel being busted, no a/c and the transmission is faulty, but it still runs. So for anyone looking for a reliable car, I would go with a cobalt, just have someone look over it beforehand.

- Connor B

It's a super reliable car

It's a super great car, it kinda just keeps moving no matter what. I've had it for about nine years now and everything that happens to it it just keeps moving. It has been through a ton of accident and it just keeps moving. I love this car. The paint started to peel off but it's ok because it's a car that gets me from point a to point b.

- James R

My vehicle is white, small and good on gas; the best car I have had.

I love small cars, my car is white and small and holds for extra people outside of myself and it gets me to point A to point B and I just love it so much. It is really good on gas I can put five dollars worth and still be good on gas for the rest of the week. I feel like if you need a car to start off with this is the right car for you.

- A A

Older cars have great gas mileage.

Its very small. It gets me from point A to point B but I love the gas mileage. I fill up about once every two weeks. I purchased it used so I did have to update the tires and brakes within a year of owning it. Seeing as it is more than 13 years old though, that was expected. I would definitely purchase this car again (in a newer make).

- Mackenzie C

The battery is located in trunk, it is a reliable car.

My car may not have newer features, but it is very reliable. We just recently put new tires on. The battery is located in the trunk. I would like the trunk to be more spacious. I would also like a darker color for the seats. I do know that it is hard to work on because you need to remove the front bumper to get to replace the lights.

- Betty J

Best car to get around day to day and even long road trips!

This vehicle is my 3rd car I have owned and the only one that I haven't had multiple problems with. A few years after I bought the car I had a few issues with a transmission axle but it was taken care of under warranty. Only other issue I ever had was a leak in the ac. Over 125k miles on it now and still a great, reliable little car!

- Amber D

Great starting family vehicle and still stylish.

The car we have is a bright metallic orange in color and has a sunroof. So far we haven't had any issues. Changing parts a pretty easy till it come to the clutch that is a little harder. The sunroof is great and no leaking issues. More spacious than my mom's Subaru. Can comfortably take out and put in a rear facing carrying car seat.

- Sue M

The Chevy cobalt is exactly what I need in a car.

The only problems I have faced with my car have pertained to its older age and the number of miles on it, the car itself is exactly what I need. It is a simple vehicle which meets my needs as well as giving me enjoyment as I drive it around for leisure and a peace of mind while I am driving in more harsh conditions out of necessity.

- Kelly O

The great gas mileage you get

I haven't had any issues with my car besides the usually wear and tear like brakes, oil changes, and updating the fluids. I do love the car is dependable and very secure. It's big enough for a small family. The only thing I would change would be the types of headlights used on the vehicle they don't cover enough of the road at night

- Dave L

My 2005 Chevrolet cobalt.

I bought my car as a last resort. I have had it for nearly 2 years and I can honestly say it is by far the best vehicle I have ever had. The previous owner kept up the maintenance on it so there are nearly no problems. We had to change the alternator recently but other than that, I would recommend this particular vehicle to anyone.

- Jessica M

For all the problem I hate it for I also love it is small and perfect for me.

My car does have some serious problems the parts constantly break on it. There are constantly recalls for my car. It has engine problem. Oil problem its constantly needs to be serviced because of all of it problems. So far both of my axles have broken both wheel hubs the rotor on the drivers side and it goes through gas constantly.

- Michael P

A few recalls but overall a great buy!

Overall, the car has held up well over the past 13 years with a few exceptions. The most aggravating thing about owning the car is that it has had multiple recalls for different reasons. Other than that, it is been reliable and the heated seats and sunroof are great features. I haven't had to replace any major motor parts.

- Amy W

a good beginner for a mom with 3 kids interested in cars

the lights on it tend to blow easily due to no draining system so have to drill a small hole in the bottom but other than that I love the car even though it is second hand to me. The seats are comfortable to me and the back seat is nice and roomy but it is a tight squeeze if you try to fit 3 car seats in the back.

- Brittany P

It is great with gas, great with long distances.

My vehicle is completely reliable. There is only minor issues I have had. The tires have gone flat multiple times. But it is very efficient with fuel, it is very easy maintenance. It is a good car for long travels as it does not waste much gas. The ac unit works amazing and the cooling system works like a charm.

- Sarah J

Because the car is 2005, it lacks today's technology, but it does the job well.

This is my first car so I cannot claim to be the most knowledgeable, but I do really like my car. I have had it for two years and the only issues I have had with it revolve around the fact that the car is 15 years old and has an abundance of miles on it. The car itself has been just what I need; transportation.

- Kelly P

Reliable car, with a few caveats.

My 2005 Chevy Cobalt is reliable, but it has had it is share of problems. The cool air/heat does not always work properly and I have had issues with the alternator. The most frustrating issue is that the body paint has rusted all over. I like the crank windows, 4 doors, and small size. But, overall a solid car.

- Clare B

The Cobalt is a great reliable car that has lasted for 13 years and counting.

The Chevy Cobalt is a great little car. As it is 13 years old, it has had some typical problems, but has been very reliable overall. The engine light is stuck in an on position, most likely something electrical and has had some work done over the years. I would recommend this car if it was still being produced.

- Bethany N

Chevy cobalt 2005: best of the best.

This vehicle has been mine since 2006. The only tweaks made were car lights and window switch. . This car is truly perfect for someone who is looking for a reliable, easy to use car. The seats are soft and cozy for road trips. The features are pretty basic. But it has everything you need. I highly recommend.

- Serena Q

Gas mileage is awesome at 23 min 36 max.

Stalls due to electrical problems but I bought it used. Been pretty reliable. Had it about a year now. I really love the car. Easy to maintain. Parts are inexpensive too. Gas mileage is awesome. Low enough to the ground that it is easily accessible for my older pets. Kid loves it as well. Heater works great.

- Martha S

It's an older model two door with some body rust but the frame is still in good shape and the engine still runs smooth.

I purchased this vehicle used after my old car died. I'm used to something a little bigger than just 2 doors but since my kids are grown now, I've gotten used to the smaller size. Lots of trunk space. It's a 2005 so there's a bit of rust but it's all cosmetic so it doesn't bother me. Engine still runs great.

- Bernadette G

It's an inconvenience for me and my family we really would like a new car.

The reason I hate my car so much it mysteriously broke down on me after no warning whatsoever I put well over two thousand dollars to try and fix the issue and its still not fix I visited well over 5 different mechanics shop and nobody knows what the problem is also had several different recalls on vehicle.

- Clark S

Steel blue, 4-door Chevy Cobalt.

The car does not have automatic windows. The car is comfortable. It speeds up very nicely. I have yet to have very many problems with it. The trunk is very large. The radio sometimes does not work very well. The bass is inconsistent. Overall the car handles very well. It can sometimes be loud, however.

- Laura E

My first car: not disappointed.

I bought my cobalt used with a lot of miles. I have had to put a lot of money into it due to common cobalt problems when they get old like burning oil, timing chain issues, etc. But overall I love my car. She drives smooth. It is small enough, it is cute. It was my first car so of course I am attached.

- Leah C

Reliable transportation from point A to point B. Great starter car.

Gets good gas mileage. Back seat is tight in area. It is great the back seat folds flat. Hugs road well with my unrated h rated tires. I really love the way it looks when cleaned up good. It has always started and is kept outside all the time. Uses 1 quart of oil every 1500 miles. I use full synthetic.

- Gee P

Cobalt? Maybe right for you?

It was purchased used from a friend. At the time, we did not know there were several recalls in the works. I still have trouble with the ignition switch. There is also an unknown leak from an unknown place which gets the driver side floor/carpet soaked. Gas mileage is good. A/C only works on 3 levels.

- Valerie W

Very small loud car, with roll down windows.

The rotors are bad but it is a reliable car, it has working ac and heat. Small car perfect for a small little family, it is a nice working vehicle, with very low mileage and nice performance. Semi fast car with working windows and mirrors, spacious trunk, and low fuel cost. Amazing fuel economy car.

- Andrea L

Cobalt blue and blue. The color is arrival blue and it age makes me feel blue.

The check engine light comes on and no one can tell me what’s the problem. Nationwide garages or the dealer. There is a hole from a tear in the back of the driver's seat. It looks great when cleaned up and I enjoy driving it. I have installed premium tires on it and it helps in handling the road.

- Gustavo P

All in all I've been happy with the vehicle.

The performance has generally been great outside of oil changes, new tires, new battery, what I wish I would have included, would be automatic key clicker. The car really needs a new paint job, but other than that it's been pretty good. I had to put new front lights in, they became stormy looking.

- Marcia C

Chevy Cobalt: nice reliable car for all ages.

Drives fairly well. The one I own has manual windows so on a nice day it is sometimes inconvenient to drive because I cannot roll down the passenger windows. It also does not have a middle console for storage. Other than that the car is reliable. A different make would include automatic windows.

- Clare C

It is great on gas and it gets you from point A to point Be highly recommend.

The car is really good on gas, it is a smooth ride and it is not to big but then it is not too small, I highly recommend a Chevy cobalt for your first car it was my first and I am still happy about it it’ll last me a long time, I have put over 2, 000 miles on it and I cannot wait to add more.

- Trenton D

Great car at an affordable price!

My car has had some mechanical issues. But once they were fixed it has been quite reliable. It has material seats that I do not like because they stain easily. They are hard to keep clean. The gas mileage is good. Overall it is a great car! I would recommend the Chevy cobalt to other buyers.

- Joy B

It handles kind of jittery these days, but it gets you where you're going.

It's older and getting to be on its last legs, but it's held up remarkably well. The fabric on the car's ceiling seems flimsy, and has developed many holes over the years, and the lock to the driver's side door sank into the door recently, but all the expensive parts are still running well.

- Rachel M

2005 Chevy cobalt, the good, the better, the best.

Its new to me but seems great! It's cute and silver and a coup. It has great gas mileage and good pick up. I love the way it looks. Very cute. It drives very smoothly, breaks very quickly it turns very easily. It is actually very fun to drive. I will be keeping it until my son can't fit.

- Lindsey N

My wonderfully amazing car.

My car runs amazing. It gets up to speed nicely. It has been in an accident before I bought it but still run nice. I love my car. I come from a family of Chevy owners. It's amazing on gas. No problems driving or running. Average mpg 33. I can normally get 420 mile to a full tank of gas.

- Kimberly N

gas mileage is awesome, very fun car to drive. Very comfortable ride.

The Chevy cobalt is a reliable vehicle and also good on gas. I was currently in a wreck and the thing still drives. Passenger and trunk room are very limited though so if you are a traveler, you may not like this. Also the radio is outdated as well, no CD player and not Bluetooth ready.

- tammy R

2005 baby blue Honda accord,

I have a blue Honda accord 2005 that is very good condition, ac runs, brakes are pretty good, new transmission, just changed oil last week, and about 2-3 months ago I got new tires for it, so it is practically a new car just mileage it has 129000, but other than that it is a good car.

- Jacob P

Good everyday car- good on gas

Car is great for everyday use. Good on gas and has been reliable. The inside design is simple... no power locks or windows. That is a con for me, but for the price it is expected. Seats are comfortable and the air conditioning/heat is great. Would recommended for an everyday car.

- Sara A

Chevy cobalt review for 2005.

My vehicle is very reliable. It gets me from place to place. It is easy on gas. The performance of the car is excellent. It is a safe car for a family. It has a good sleep system. The seats are comfortable especially for on long rides. The air conditioning works extremely well.

- Devon N

The pros and cons of owning a Chevy cobalt.

Being only a two door makes getting in and out easy especially for my patient, its getting good gas mileage, it drives smooth, although it's a 5 speed its really easy to change gears I would recommend this car to an older owner who does not have kids. But likes to travel a lot.

- Karen T

Its been reliable and its lasted for almost 15 years.

The Chevy cobalt has been a really good car since it only has 246,000 miles. Not major problems but has had several recalls from the factory. Wish it had cruise control. It doesn't have power window or doors. It's a 4 cylinder. It's good on gas and the parts aren't expensive.

- Cheyenne T

Blue car with tinted windows I love it.

Runs smoothly. Needs catalytic converter. Been having the vehicle for about 2 years now. I really love this car it is so nice and it drives like a champ. The paint is ok condition for its age. Fast and furiously good car I wash it often and make sure it is shined it is blue.

- Ken G

2005 white Chevrolet cobalt.

I absolutely love my cobalt. The seats are not that comfortable but it is not too bad. It is very good on gas, my average driving through town a lot is about 25 mpg. Highway driving I get around 30 if not more. For a little car it feels very spacious. It is just what I need.

- Laney C

Great gas mileage. Great first car

In the past 3 years, it has needed close to $2000 in repairs. From transmission issues, wiring issues, suspension and other issues. Other than that, good car. Great first car. Just be cautious when buying. Repairs are not cheap due to it being major stuff that needs fixed.

- Dawn B

My vehicle has heated seats and a sunroof.

I drive it to work (35 miles one way) and back home everyday and it's never gave me issues. The only issue I had was one I first bought the car the shifter was already broke but the dealership fixed it for me. Other than that I've gotten good gas mileage and no problems.

- Abby M

Chevy Cobalt is a good vehicle

It's reliable, hasn't broken down once. Gets good gas mileage. Nice storage space in the trunk. There are no handles to get in or out of the vehicle though. I've also had a few problems with the air pressure gauges. Everything else seems to work fine. It's a good car.

- Will S

Well kept cars that still perform.

I don't really have any complaints with my current vehicle. I am satisfied for now. Other than minor maintenance and upkeep it's not really given me many problems. It nearly runs as well as it did when I purchased it. I would recommend similar vehicles if I was asked.

- Angel H

I love how it drives - I wish that it was holding up better lately.

I used to love my car. Recently: the fuel line rusted, turn signal spring broke, defroster stopped working, hole in exhaust, vent controls are hit or miss, throttle body has been needed to control, has trouble starting if recently shut off, brackets on sunroof broke.

- Amanda L

It is a great car with seat warmers, digital air temp and mileage.

It is a reliable family car. Enough room for the kids in the back. Easy to get car parts when needed. It has sensors to tell you when something needed to be changed or looked at. Has seat warmers for when we have cold days. All in all great car. Get a Chevy cobalt.

- Nicole G

Used 2005 Chevy cobalt, in good condition.

Right arm shoulder needed to be replaced alongside the left shoulder arm. The computer part pcm also had to be replaced, we bought the car used and mechanics still said it is a good car to have despite the problems. It is a good car to have on gas, mileage is great.

- Rox M

Very nice performing vehicle.

Very reliable. Good gas mileage. Not too many problems with it so far. Very light car, drives easy. Has satellite radio. Battery connectors are in strange spots though. When jumping a car have to put one cable on the battery and the other completely somewhere else.

- Liz H

Love defrost and efficient.

It is very efficient, reliable and comfortable. It is very easy to handle. Defrosts quickly, especially the back window. That will be real handy during winter time. I for one, do not like to stand in the freezing air and snow. Just to scrape ice off all my windows.

- Morgan L

Gets good gas mileage and doesn't burn oil

It's compact, good on gas, am/FM radio, automatic, great color, goes 25 miles to the gallon, ac and heat work great, keeps you updated on air compression in tires, great seating, a full tank of gas goes a long ways, wipers work great, has two cup holders for drinks

- Linda E

It's a nice color. Cobalt blue.

For the most part my car is great. The radio doesn't work but it could be worse. Other than that is reliable and good on gas. The air works great. It's comfortable to ride in and drive. I don't know what else to say. It's a decent car considering its age and all.

- Hannah B

Consistently Starts So Far

The air conditioner leaks, the stereo can't handle loud volumes, and the car sometimes acts like its died because the lights will turn out and sometimes the car will even just stop accelerating. This is all probably due to the age but it does consistently start.

- Oliver S

Buying a vehicle as is instead of new.

I really enjoy my Cobalt, but it probably would have been nicer if I got it from somewhere else and not from a place that you buy it as is. So it has some problems, but all cars do, especially used ones, so you kinda get over it. Overall, I like my car though.

- Cassandra B

The biggest POS I ever bought.

Well I bought it about a year ago from guy that just opened up a new car lot in town. Turns out the interior was so messed up I need to replace it. I had all 4 rims replaced. Motor mounts, head gasket. . . etc.. You name it I probably fixed it. Overall a pos.

- Tanner W

Car is good on gas and miles.

All we had to do for the car is get new spark plugs and brakes nothing else except when we had to get a new belt for the car the car is good on gas and miles it has a big trunk and the battery is in the trunk as well it fits quite a bit of room in the trunk.

- Casey K

2005 Chevy Cobalt Summary

Pretty reasonable little car for what it is - great on fuel economy. Inexpensive on repairs and tired. Has a weird emissions issue, which causes the check engine light to be on frequently, but no one can figure out what the issue is! Doesn't affect driving.

- Stacy M

Clean and sufficient vehicle.

It runs good no problems whatsoever. Room for four people. Plenty of room for groceries. It gets me from point a to point b with no problems. It gets good mileage on gas. The seats are nice and comfy. The sound system is excellent. Its clean and sufficient.

- Lori C

I love my Manual transmission Chevy cobalt!

It's very comfortable and easy to drive. Very reliable I have had no major issues with it so far. The car comes with a CD player, air conditioning, and heating. The car has lots of trunk space. Although the inside of the car is small because it is a coupe.

- Dakota W

Reliable, comfortable Cobalt.

I haven't had any problems with my Chevrolet Cobalt. It is a reliable car. It is good on gas. Even with it being a smaller car, there is still plenty of legroom in the back seat. The sun roof is nice on a sunny day. The only complaint is it being a 2 door.

- Jodi B

The 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt has been a very dependable car.

While it more recently has been having some mechanical issues (due to high mileage and age), it has been very dependable car. It hasn't needed much work beyond standard maintenance until recently. It would have been nice to have power windows though.

- N H

Unsatisfied due to (assumed) manufacturers error

I bought my car pre-owned, and it has had problems with overheating. The coolant constantly runs very hot. I have had to replace the alternator, all the hoses and the battery three times. Recently all windows but the front driver side do not roll down.

- Jordan G

It's important to know that it has been a great car for the least amount of money that it cost.

I like my car because it is sporty looking and because it's silver it doesn't show a lot of dirt. It is thirteen years old and only has a little over 69k miles on it. I have hardly had any problems with it since I bought it. It has been a good car.

- Connie W

It is small in the back seat, especially for all or large people.

Hugs the road with the premium tires I use. Good gas and work car. Looks great when clean and waxed. Needs new struts. Has a hole in drivers side near bottom top of seat. Has a hole from right heel in drivers carpet. I've been very happy with it.

- Gus P

The car is very reliable.

My car may have a few dings and dents but it is very reliable, I went up to Jefferson city with it once and I made it there and back with no problems. My car does not have no heat or air but the other good things about my car make up for all the bad.

- Kayla C

It's a sporty car for those that like cars that have some get up and go, and great on gas.

I like that it gets good gas mileage so we don't have to fill up as often. It has some get up and go so we can keep up with traffic.the seats are comfortable. it's hard to drive for my wife due to her leg amputation, no leg room down by the pedals.

- jean j

The gas mileage is good and it has been reliable.

My Chevy cobalt is an overall good vehicle, the gas mileage is good, there is a lot of trunk space, and it has been very reliable. My only real complaint is that it sits too low to the ground and is uncomfortable to get in and out of.

- Greg C

It is only a two door so sometimes it is inconvenient when more people are with me.

Everything is perfect with my car, it is a two door automatic and it is perfect for a girl who does not really care about car stuff because it is very low maintenance. If cars lasted forever I would have this car forever.

- Allied B

It was good value for the money.

We get great gas mileage with this car. It is compact, so easy to park. Also it is very easy and comfortable to drive on distance trips. However, at times it can be too small if we have lots of stuff to haul.

- Kay W

It has been involved in a serious recall due to the ignition switch.

I like that it is easy to drive and gets good gas mileage. I like that it is fairly low maintenance. I wish it had more legroom for back seat passengers. I also wish it wasn't part of so many recalls.

- kristi m

Great on gas but not a family vehicle

This car is so great on gas and has lasted myself and my family for several years and still has lots of life left in it. My only complaint would be that it's a bit too small now that we have 3 children

- Hayleigh J

Great compact car for space and mileage

I love the Cobalt because of the compact size of the car, while still having plenty of room for travel. The car mileage is terrific for being 13 years old now, and the body of the car looks the same.

- Saranda P

Electrical system has been known to be faulty. I have already had to have that replaced.

It has been a good car up till it gets older. So many things have have broken down on it,in a short time, Even with regular maintenance on it. The underneath of it is rusting more than a car should.

- Tonja J

It is good on gas and easy to drive. Comfortable to ride in.

It is good on gas but seems to be prone to mechanical issues. Belts are constantly breaking or coming loose. This causes other issues such as the water pump breaking and in turn the radiator going.

- Christi H

It's a huge life line for me. Would not be able to survive without. Really does the job and drives nicely

I like that it's decently roomy for a compact car. Don't like cup holder placement and the fact they still drinks all the time. Decent gas mileage. Could have better compartments & center console.

- Jessica M

Owned used for past 6 years

I have owned my car for 6 years. I bought it used with 43k miles on it.It has had only 2 manufacturers recalls. I keep up to date on all maintenance and never had any performance issues as of yet

- Juaquin G

It is a really good car. Even though it's an old model it's great.

Honestly I really don't have anything at all to complain about my vehicle. It gets me from point A to B. Plus it wasn't that expensive when I got it and it has since then been in good condition.

- Dav F

It is an older car but so far it is reliable and gets me to and from work.

I have a 2005 Chevy Cobalt that I drive daily. We got it used and have had very few problems with it. We have had to replace the blinker switch on the steering column because it broke off.

- Kim E

She can accelerate quickly because she drinks a lot of gas.

I actually have a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville, which wasn't an option. It's really long and silver, and it's a V8 engine. I like how it runs smoothly, but I dislike how much gas it drinks up.

- Daniel C

It is quite reliable to get me from point a to b. That is why I bought it.

I like the outside look. It looks almost new when waxed. I like the way it fits me and handles. I dislike the hole in the driver's seat. I dislike it is missing a hubcap and antenna.

- Gustavo P

That it is a car I enjoy driving and it serves me well.

Though it has an automatic transmission, that is all that is automatic on my car. The doors and windows are all manual. It is small enough and economical enough for the things I do.

- Anne W

It is dependable and gets good gas mileage.

I like to has a stick and gets great gas mileage. I dislike that it's getting rust on the body and I wish it had a backup camera. I could take out the ands to make 4 sentences.

- Ricky W

Fun, Little, gas saving machine!

This vehicle has been very good to have over the year with minimal issues. The only problem I have had is the check engine light for the EVAP system which was a small repair.

- Travis S

It is a very reliable vehicle that is great in snow for being a small sedan.

I like the size of the car, as well as it is efficiency with gas. I do not like that my car does not have automatic locks or windows. I do not like that the car feels 'old'.

- Christin W

Highly recommend this model.

This car is totally built for long-term use. Got mine for at least 5 years. No problems except lights recently needed to be changed. Overall, it is great. Highly recommend.

- Serena Q

Great gas, workable problems

Although the Sistine belt had to be replaced, the faulty alternator was covered by the company. Other than that we've had no problems with it and it gets great gas mileage!

- Deanna K

Drives well. Its small. Good gas mileage.

I don't have power windows. And the security is not right. . I bought it used and they took the original radio out of it. The security goes through the original radio.

- Natasha S

I like to keep my car clean.

I love the size and the four doors make it easy to drive with friends. There's a lot of trunk space for travel as well. It drives really easily. No complaints at all.

- Megan B

Always reliable with little or no repairs needed!.

Has awesome gas mileage. Runs great even with over 200,000 miles. Is too small. Hate that the battery is in the truck and the cost to replace is very expensive.

- Melinda L

It runs amazing and I could never part with it because it's loyal to me and I'm Loyal to it.

I like how convenient and how great it runs to be 13 years old. It does not give me to many issues. I don't like how I have to manually roll the windows down.

- Ladajuna B

It's a 2005. I can't expect much.

There's nothing automatic about it other than the transmission. Crank windows, mirrors, seats. CD player doesn't work. Can't adjust the rearview mirror.

- Shaina F

It is not as dependable as the other Honda's I have had.

I love how it drives. How quiet it is when you are driving it. And I especially love how good on gas it is. Very dependable vehicle for me and my kids.

- Jann A A

That it is well worth the money, if you chose to purchase it.

It is 4 door, it is roomy and it is cheap on gas. It wasn't expensive when I purchased it.. And it is automatic, so my 17 year daughter can drive it.

- Beverly O

Cobalt 2005 small compact vehicle.

The cobalt is a very good purchase. I do not like the two door, but to each their own. It has been really good to me. It is just a really small car.

- Amanda C

Performs well for an older model, with little maintenance.

Drives great. Good MPG. The only neg thing is the wiring. Having problems with power windows and door locks. Not a fan of the battery in the trunk.

- Debra C

My car is very easy on gas. The chevrolet cobalt is an excellent choice when choosing a vehicle.

I like that my car is economy size. I also like the convenience of having four doors. I like that it is a 4 cylinder, economically works out great.

- Starlet S

It has battery in trunk very poor design.

It has been reliable and gets good gas mileage. Detest battery in trunk and 2 door. Has glitch with alarm system has been good car for about town.

- Caroline M

Take good care of it. Like the back window.

It's been pretty good all these years, and the main thing its in working condition, what I do not like is the inside seats and flooring needs new.

- Marcia C

Recall out for airbags not deploying I suggest you get them fixed.

My car is standard and front wheel drive handles great until the snow hits I have great mpg for the year I normally get about 32 mpg on average.

- Mike M

Very reliable little maintenance

I have not had any problems with it. It does not get as good gas mileage as was promoted but very few repairs on it except for factory recalls.

- Suzette H

Goes into limp mode often, the rear defrost does not always work.

Like the small design, dislike it seems to have electrical and computer problems, I had trouble finding a rim when one of mine had gotten bent.

- Alicia D

Short people will have a hard time reaching the pedals.

I like it for dependability but it's starting to rust and I don't think I like the handling it is very tight steering seats are uncomfortable.

- David B

Sometimes starting is a job too

Ignition problems multiple times, passcode problems, other than that, miles is great and what sold me on the car, and the reason I still have

- LaDeen M

This vehicle is very reliable, parts are easy to find and cheap to repair. Good for travelling/driving long distances.

It is reliable to get back and forth to where you need to go. It drives really smooth, only problem is that it is 2 door instead of 4 door.

- Shannen S

It is a small sedan car good for starter cars

I have put a couple grand into fixing the car and they are all expensive fixes. I want to keep it due to all the expenses and get an suv.

- Renee D

I would want others to know that my car has been a good car for me to drive.

I like my car because it has lasted me a long time. I do not like that it does burn oil. I hope to get the car to last a few more years.

- Amanda G

It gets good mileage and has a good sound system.

I don't like how low to the ground it is. I don't like that it is a coupe. I like that it shows how many miles it gets to a gallon.

- Angie D

Good gas mileage. Never makes a noise.

No complaints. Car runs like a charm and never had an issue. Would definitely recommend Chevy to start making the car model again.

- James C
