It is a very reliable vehicle that is great in snow for being a small sedan.
I like the size of the car, as well as it is efficiency with gas. I do not like that my car does not have automatic locks or windows. I do not like that the car feels 'old'.

Steel blue, 4-door Chevy Cobalt.
The car does not have automatic windows. The car is comfortable. It speeds up very nicely. I have yet to have very many problems with it. The trunk is very large. The radio sometimes does not work very well. The bass is inconsistent. Overall the car handles very well. It can sometimes be loud, however.

Good car, gasoline economic, good performance, the only problem i have my model doesn't have electric windows.

It has been involved in a serious recall due to the ignition switch.
I like that it is easy to drive and gets good gas mileage. I like that it is fairly low maintenance. I wish it had more legroom for back seat passengers. I also wish it wasn't part of so many recalls.
accountCircle Lisa L on March 16, 2021
Besides the recalls this car has needed minimal basic repairs even at the age of 13 years old at this point.
This make is a basic. It is comfortable and gets me around town. There have been several recalls on this car but was handled in a timely fashion. Downfall of this car is it is basic and at this point 13 years old. I have had problems with the blinkers going out every year and the light bulbs needing to be replaced due to water seeping into tail light. It is a durable car .

Is 13 years old and still dependable! Don't like that I've had to replace the turn signal lights 10 times!

Practical, Safe, and Agile-- 4/5!
This car is great for getting around! I've had to replace the engine (under warranty) because the previous owner was very hard on it, but have had absolutely no problems with the running of the car now that the rebuilt engine has been installed. There are intermittent issues with the wiring on the rear windows, and on occasion the windows will not go down as desired due to the wiring problems. New parts such as headlight casings have been fairly easy to install without a mechanic, making most basic repairs fairly manageable as far as time and effort, and more affordable than other cars I've owned. The moon roof had a track issue when I bought it, but since the dealer installed a new track there have been no leakage issues with the car. All the features are easily reachable from the driver's seat, making it a decent drive. I would have preferred a central control panel such as I had in the Saturn Ion I owned prior to buying the Cobalt, but the driver's side console is not as bulky as other cars I've driven and so doesn't block viewing through the front windshield. Visibility is high in this car, and the automatic mirror adjustment controls from the driver's side door make it easy to change even when driving if they need to be moved for broader sight lines. Overall this is a great value for the money, the only major issue is that the gas mileage isn't the greatest (but still not a gas guzzler). I'd definitely buy this as a first car for a new driver, I feel very safe inside the design, it's maneuverable enough to dodge idiots looking at their phones instead of the road, and the gas mileage while not the best is definitely good enough to still be practical.

Cobalt? Maybe right for you?
It was purchased used from a friend. At the time, we did not know there were several recalls in the works. I still have trouble with the ignition switch. There is also an unknown leak from an unknown place which gets the driver side floor/carpet soaked. Gas mileage is good. A/C only works on 3 levels.
accountCircle Marcia C on February 28, 2021
All in all I've been happy with the vehicle.
The performance has generally been great outside of oil changes, new tires, new battery, what I wish I would have included, would be automatic key clicker. The car really needs a new paint job, but other than that it's been pretty good. I had to put new front lights in, they became stormy looking.
accountCircle Don R on February 15, 2021
It's a cheap car, but still gets you to the places you need to go.
I like AND dislike the cobalt for the same reason. It was/is a cheap car. Many things stopped working within a few year of owning it. It also had some recalls, however I feel like you get what you pay for. It has lasted me many years, and gets me where I need to go. Even if things like the speakers stop working, windows won't roll down, back door won't open, etc. It's still running after all these years, and that's what matters to me.

The Chevy Cobalt is a relatively good car if you take care of it.
The Chevy Cobalt is a relatively good car that has a few weird quirks. The battery is not located under the hood, but it is in the trunk. There is no dipstick to check for transmission fuel. You have to take it to the dealer to have them check it about every 75 thousand miles. The bumper is a bit fragile but that car overall is strong if you take care of it and do regular oil changes. I have about 188 thousand miles on my car and it still runs fine.

Has issue with alarm going off upon entry. Pretty basic car. Fairly decent gas mileage. Wouldn't recommend.
accountCircle Kevin D on January 12, 2021
My cobalt and our journey.
The car is smaller so it helps navigating around the city. I am a bigger guy and the interior is snug to me but not uncomfortably so. The auto locks in the car have also stopped working as well as a weird electrical system that if someone slams my passenger door or trunk the tail lights and dash lights go out. Most likely just old wiring after a pretty normal wear and tear on the car. Other than those problems the car has needed little to no work and has gotten me to around 125k miles without major repairs.

I actually have a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville, which wasn't an option. It's really long and silver, and it's a V8 engine. I like how it runs smoothly, but I dislike how much gas it drinks up.

My cobalt is my baby I love her and hope she rides forever.
I bought my car 5 years ago for only 4,000 already seen its days, so I thought. With over 200,000 miles on her she's still driving just fine. It will be a hard car to get rid of she's done good for me. Always been reliable never had too many problems just had I replace the brakes. I use it to get back and forth from work mostly. Driving about an hour round trip. I love the radio and speaker system. But it has roll down windows which I am not too fond of. I am looking for a new car at the moment because it is time but I will keep my cobalt in case of emergency.

My car may not have newer features, but it is very reliable. We just recently put new tires on. The battery is located in the trunk. I would like the trunk to be more spacious. I would also like a darker color for the seats. I do know that it is hard to work on because you need to remove the front bumper to get to replace the lights.

Chevrolet cobalt 2005 LS performance review
This Chevrolet cobalt is overall a lovely car for a college student. Great gas saver and reliability is out of the chart. I rarely have motor problems but it does come with AC unit. Tends to leak inside when I use the AC all day but overall it is a great car and I don't spend much on it. It's doesn't have many features since it's an LS but it does drive extremely well and can bring me to LA and back

A good beginner for a mom with 3 kids interested in cars
The lights on it tend to blow easily due to no draining system so have to drill a small hole in the bottom but other than that I love the car even though it is second hand to me. The seats are comfortable to me and the back seat is nice and roomy but it is a tight squeeze if you try to fit 3 car seats in the back.
accountCircle Austin B on November 14, 2020
It is a very reliable vehicle and it has lasted for quite some time.
It has lasted a long time, we already have over 150k miles on it. The ac could work better and not leak so much condensation and our power windows stopped working for some reason. Gas mileage is pretty reasonable and it only costs $30 to fill the tank completely when it is on empty. Other than the issues with the ac and windows I do not see much else wrong with the vehicle and the fact that it is still running after so many miles is pretty awesome.

My car has had some mechanical issues. But once they were fixed it has been quite reliable. It has material seats that I do not like because they stain easily. They are hard to keep clean. The gas mileage is good. Overall it is a great car! I would recommend the Chevy cobalt to other buyers.

This vehicle is my 3rd car I have owned and the only one that I haven't had multiple problems with. A review of the 2005 Chevy Cobalt
2005 Chevy Cobalt is an okay vehicle. It seems to have a lot of electrical problems, where check engine lights and other lights such as the airbag will come on. This typically happens when it's rainy outside. I personally do not like the two door part of this car, I would rather a four door as it would be easier to get in and out of. Lastly, I do not like the alarm system. My FOB broke and I don't have enough money to replace it, so every time I open my door the alarm sounds because it can only be turned off by the FOB.

Great long lasting vehicle for individuals
Bought car with 5600 miles on it now has 256789 miles. I drive it daily because it uses very little gas. I have had to take it in for 2 recalls the seatbelt and power steering. I faithfully keep up routine maintenance. I have replaced battery once, a front wheel bearing, and the drive belt was loose and I replaced alternator. It's a 5 speed 2 door coupe makes a great work car but don't recommend this make for individuals with children not much leg room in back seat and awkward for anyone over 3 ft to climb in and out of. I use this vehicle to run errands and to drive to work but also to take my 3 dogs to vet or parks because my senior beagle and my smaller dog can get in and out easily with my 113 pound rescue pit already in the back seat. I live in a country setting and even on wet or snowy roads it handles very well. On steep hills sometimes covered in mud I have never had any power loss even with the high mileage on it. Its 13 years old I drive through a small stream to get to my home and it has one small spot starting to rust on the inside of fender but in my state they use salt/cinder heavily on our roadways.

I love the fuel range.i really like the large trunk.i like almost everything about my car.the only thing I hate is the seat belt on passenger seat always locks up and feels like a straight jacket
Great everyday car to ride in and great fuel range!

The Cobalt is a great reliable car that has lasted for 13 years and counting.
The Chevy Cobalt is a great little car. As it is 13 years old, it has had some typical problems, but has been very reliable overall. The engine light is stuck in an on position, most likely something electrical and has had some work done over the years. I would recommend this car if it was still being produced.

Great starting family vehicle and still stylish.
The car we have is a bright metallic orange in color and has a sunroof. So far we haven't had any issues. Changing parts a pretty easy till it come to the clutch that is a little harder. The sunroof is great and no leaking issues. More spacious than my mom's Subaru. Can comfortably take out and put in a rear facing carrying car seat.

It was good value for the money.
We get great gas mileage with this car. It is compact, so easy to park. Also it is very easy and comfortable to drive on distance trips. However, at times it can be too small if we have lots of stuff to haul.

It is low maintenance and gets fairly decent gas mileage.
No Bluetooth, no automatic windows, no cruise control but it gets me where I need to go and is low maintenance.

GREAT gas mileage and fast like a sports car
I like the mileage per gallon I get out of it, It's cheaper to drive. I like how it gets up to speed quickly, like a sports car. It's the perfect size for us as a couple, yet when needed, we can still fit 2 or 3 people in the backseat. The one thing I don't like is, since I had my leg amputation, I have been unable to drive it since there's not enough room on the floorboard to maneuver my feet to be able to reach the gas pedal, but I do have an adapter now for left foot usage, I just need to get out and practice using it. Therefore when my dad's estate is settled, I will be buying a bigger vehicle, but will still keep the Cobalt

It gets good mileage and has a good sound system.
I don't like how low to the ground it is. I don't like that it is a coupe. I like that it shows how many miles it gets to a gallon.

Drives well. Its small. Good gas mileage.
I don't have power windows. And the security is not right. . I bought it used and they took the original radio out of it. The security goes through the original radio.

Fun, Little, gas saving machine!
This vehicle has been very good to have over the year with minimal issues. The only problem I have had is the check engine light for the EVAP system which was a small repair.

A few recalls but overall a great buy!
Overall, the car has held up well over the past 13 years with a few exceptions. The most aggravating thing about owning the car is that it has had multiple recalls for different reasons. Other than that, it is been reliable and the heated seats and sunroof are great features. I haven't had to replace any major motor parts.

This vehicle is very reliable, parts are easy to find and cheap to repair. Good for travelling/driving long distances.
It is reliable to get back and forth to where you need to go. It drives really smooth, only problem is that it is 2 door instead of 4 door.

It's very dependable. I've had minimal problems with it.
I like that the car is dependable. I don't like that my car only has 2 doors.
