Models also known as Trim Levels, are used to identify a vehicle's level of equipment or special features.
This is one tough little truck. I travel over rough roads that often needs 4 wheel drive. I also use it around the farm for hay, hauling, etc. I have only had to do the bare minimum maintenance on it. It is just the right size for me.
It is very roomy on the inside for being a midsize truck. I love that I can have a truck without having to pay as much in gas every month. And there is plenty of back seat storage for tools, extra fluids and jumper cables.
It is reliable. Great value. 4Wd so you can go off road. Very good in the snow. Since it is a crew cab there is plenty of space. You can tow and haul things with it. The engine is a 3.5 Volvo engine which is plenty of power and also not a gas guzzler as it gets 16 mpg around town.
Good gas mileage, enough room to be comfortable when carrying 4 people, still have the option to haul items, sunroof, tough little truck when it comes to keeping the driver safe. Mine has 200k+ miles on it and has not needed any major repairs.
Its four wheel drive so I can go off road and into places where I go fishing. It is very dependable, not bad gas mileage for a truck. So far I have 150,000 miles on it so it does last. It is mechanically sound.
First off I like that fact that it is a small size pick up. Has a great bed size can carry many thing. It gives me really gas mileage I drive 55 miles round trip to work and home and fill up once a week.
Good gas mileage, fairly low maintenance cost. Simple enough to work on yourself. Great color options. Decent size rear seat. At this point it is old enough that I do not worry if it gets a scratch or a spill inside of it.
The gas mileage is bad. Only 15 miles to the gallon so any trip I make to town is at least 2 gallons or more. The model I have is minimally equipped so there's nothing fancy about it. But despite that, it is a shame they do not make this model anymore.
The engine runs hotter than any vehicle I have ever driven, without mechanical issues, causing the fluids to prematurely burn and be replaced faster than any other vehicle. The wiring harness for the blower motor for the ac also burns very fast and needs to be replaced every few years.
I can't see any cons with it other than it is a little smaller than a half ton pickup which may not be big enough for some people who prefer a bigger truck. Also it is limited as to how much you can haul and how much you can tow.
After 10 years, I do not have any cons for this vehicle. The vehicle has been a reliable and safe vehicle for myself. I have traveled all over Tennessee, North Carolina, Florida, Georgia and Alabama with this truck with no major issues occurring. All things that have needed to be replaced were maintenance wear and tear.
I cannot think of any cons that come to mind about having this truck. It has been a tremendous vehicle. So other than maybe getting a bigger sized truck there is really no cons that I have experienced.
I do not like the fact that it does not have much towing capacity because the engine feels somewhat small for the size of the truck. Have had to replace ignition switch. It is common for them to fail and truck will not start.
I wish it had a sprayed in bed liner. The 2006 3.5 i5 engine is a little finicky. The changed the engine in 2007 or 2008. That i5 was lot better from what I have been told. The original radio is very old as well and would need to be updated.
The 2006 Chevrolet Colorado has an average owner rating of 4.33 out of 5 which ranks it #8 of 13 other Compact Pickup Trucks.
