2000 Impala work car comfort and reliability.
I drive my 2000 Impala to work every day. It is reliable. I have to drive around 80 miles in one trip to and from work. The car is comfortable to sit in. Which means a lot to me after driving an hour to work. Working 12 hrs and then the hour drive home. I haven't had any major problems with the mechanics of the car. It is in excellent condition.

Well built machine. When cars were made out of heavy steel.
My car is 18 years old and is getting worn down. Its starting to have a lot of wear and tear for the age. I have no problems starting it every morning.

The car was 2500 and I got it for 2300. The seller was a nice man.
My vehicle was totaled so I had to find a cheap car. I found one on Craigslist. So far so good.

The car is worth the trouble if you really want a simple car for a first time car or something to last.
The 2000 Chevy Impala is a dependable car that will manage to get you where you need to go with plenty of space and comfortably. It does take a lot of gas, but it can manage.

It's not a bad car I got it used and it had the problems before I bought it.
Trunk is busted so you have to hold open, I have no door handle on the passenger rear door. Chipped pint in places. Blinker issue.

An interesting detail about my vehicle is that it still runs nicely.
It is old so it really does work well. But the comfort of the car is limited, as well as the sound system. No Bluetooth. No back up camera. It needs more technology added within the car in order to have a more reliable drive. Also, the tires are small and I've had several flats already it seems to me they are made poorly.

For an 18 year old car, it runs very well.
Issues with the windows. The motor went out in. All four windows. The battery didn't last long, the air conditioning doesn't work.

Reliable and Roomy for Road Trips!
It is very low to the ground, but besides that I don't really have complaints! It is a reliable car that I have taken on many road trips. As long as you keep up with regular maintenance, it should hold up well!

Reliable
I own a 2001 Impala and nice looking. Black with gray interior. A 3.8 is good on gas fairly decent on power and it takes me every where do far without any problems. I' ll give it a 7 1/2 for over all transportation.

Its start up every time so I'd say it is a pretty good car in comparison.
I like it because it last long. It was very affordable unlike other cars. Low maintenance and safe for the family. Has really good mileage on it.

It always runs great. Fun to drive.
I love my car. It runs great. Good on gas. Fun car. Lots of legroom. Never had to fix anything on it. Big trunk. Easy to maintain.
accountCircle Steve P on October 24, 2020
That its reliable! It hasn't left me stranded or required any major repairs.
I like the good gas mileage, dependability, and low cost repairs. There's nothing that I dislike, other than the fact that it has high miles on it.

This car is great on gas. Plenty of space.
Well first off, the car is not mine, it is my roommates. What I like about it is that it is good on gas. I like how small it is but doesn't seem small when I am inside. I love the sound system that it has in it and how I am able to hook my cell phone I to it. I do not like the fact that it's constantly getting flat tires, the parts are expensive to fix, there is too much play in the steering wheel.
accountCircle kimberly S on September 14, 2020
There's no back ac and no way to put an infant car seat belt under the seat.
I like the make and model. I didn't choose the car but i like it. It's really roomy and comfortable. It's good for taller people as well. It's good gas mileage and saf. But compared to the new cars It's trash.

Our 2000 Chevrolet Impala has proven to be a very reliable car overall.
I like the fact that we paid $3000 for the car in 2015 and it is still (mostly) going strong. I do wish it was somewhat larger though as my partner's wheelchair takes up 2/3 of the back seat and our crutches take up most of the front passenger seat. Since my orthopedic doctor now wants me to be in a wheelchair too, we are going to be struggling to figure out how to fit both wheelchairs into the car. Mine will have to probably go into the trunk but that will take up most of the space that we would normally use for groceries.

I think the most important thing about my car is the gas mileage, even 18 years old, it gets about 28 highway/23 city.
My vehicle gets great gas mileage, especially given its age. The interior is nice. The radio works wonderfully. There's plenty of trunk space. The only problem I have with it is that the bright lights won't stay on, but the former owner broke that, it's not the car's fault.
accountCircle Renaie B on August 1, 2020
That it is a Chevy if course and the parts are fairly inexpensive to repair
It is a really reliable vehicle I absolutely love having the heated seats and spacious seating the only problem is that it does just die on me but I think it might be my battery cables need tightening
accountCircle Dishon H on July 23, 2020
That we've had it for 11 years and it still gets me where I need to go with 256,000 miles
Gets good gas mileage and is reliable. Recently had to change the engine out and other parts but it has high miles.

Its an 5. 10 condition. Need to upgrade a small tune up.
I really don't like it but I like it because it takes me everywhere. Sometimes it needs to go to the mechanic.

2000 Chevrolet Impala-a money saver.
Nice designs with spoiler, leather heated seats, power windows and doors. Extra large trunk, highway mpg between 27-32, roomy back seats and leg area, low maintenance, comes in a variety of colors, heavy enough it gets around good in snow, radio controls on steering wheel.
accountCircle Collin S on April 21, 2020
The Chevy Impala is basic and sturdy.
The Chevy Impala is a basic and what you would want in a car, it has a radio and that's about it. The car is 18 years ago and to this day it is still running. It has traveled to Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Texas, and all over new Mexico, so it has a ton of miles on it. That being said the car is starting to have engine problems such as a leaking coolant from a crack I cannot find.

My car runs very well for a 2000 model no motor problem or nothing has a slight tear in driver seat was like that when I bought the car not long ago. It has a flame on. Side for bloody effects

Done previously in the other question
Impalas were more for the performance of the car than comfort.. Ls 3.8 liter is by far the most durable and reliable car in my opinion.. These la are cheap to fix, easy on gas.. My ls impala is green, tan interior, has a sunroof, cassette and CD player.
accountCircle Desiree S on March 19, 2020
It is a Chevy and that is a decent brand. It is easy to fix but it is always in the shop.
It is an old car but it drives. I have to do a lot of work on it a lot. I wish I had something newer and easier to fox

The 2000 Chevy Impala is a reasonable car all around.
It is a comfortable car and fairly reliable. I have started having some issues with it, but that is expected since it is nearly 20 years old at this point. It has features that you would expect from the time. It has fairly good gas mileage. On average I usually end up getting about twenty five miles to the gallon. Most of the issues I have had with it have involved the transmission. I have had to get it replaced once before and it is just starting to have issues once more.
accountCircle Michelle M on January 6, 2020
It has been in a crash and cost a lot to fix but I got it for cheap.
I like that it gets me places. I do not like that the air conditioning is broken and the radio does not work. I do not like that the check engine light is always on.
accountCircle Abigail Y on December 15, 2019
Although it is old it is very reliable.
I like that the vehicle is reliable. It has an easily repairable engine and I can do much of what I need to by myself, however I strongly dislike that the power steering fluid is underneath the engine and I need a long nosed funnel to check or add to it.

2000 Chevrolet Impala: a car you will love.
My 2003 Chevrolet Impala has a few minor problems. The dashboard lights do not work at night. The traction active light comes on when the abs warning light comes on. This is an indicator of a speed sensor not working. The car runs great. It has a 3. 8 engine. It has a fast acceleration and a very smooth ride. It gets between 19 to 23 mpg. It is front wheel drive and drives great in all types of weather. It is a full size car with seating for five. It is an automatic. Has air conditioning, power seats, and a radio/cd player that can be operated from the steering wheel. It has power seating and windows. This is my third Chevrolet that I have owned. It is a good car to drive.
accountCircle MELISSA H on November 16, 2019
It has good gas mileage, it has automatic headlights on/off feature.
I like that it has good gas mileage. I hate that it is old and unreliable. I also hate that it is only front wheel drive and does not have enough clearance to go into wilderness roads.
accountCircle Marcy D on November 9, 2019

My car is a very spacious family car. Rides good and good on gas. It overall is a good car. I had one just like it before put over 270,000 miles on it. They are very durable cars. I would really recommend getting a Impala they are great. Never much trouble to go wrong.

My car needs work done, but it is reliably enough for me.
My car needs a tune up, driver seat does not move at all (forward, backward, up or down) my back right door does not open. It was that way when I bought it from a previous owner. All in all, its reliability is ok, it gets me to where I need to go.

The Chevy impala LS is an easy car to like. There isn't anything bad about it.
This vehicle is very safe. I have very few blind spots in it and feel completely in control of the car. Seat warmers are great and stereo is awesome. Would recommend to any new drivers. Easy to control and is predictable. Headlights could use some work but not horrible.

Its an older car so has maintenance issues, it's a fairly reliable car for in town drives, wouldn't take it for longer trips.it's big and comfortable nice smooth ride. Sound system is good and gets good miles per gallon. Cheap fixes because there are many cars like it out and about so parts are cheap

Just love the body style & pick up. It is not shaped like a box like a lot of other cars. Has a large motor but still gets decent gas mileage.

It has made me learn and study more about cars and their defaults.
It belonged to my uncle who passed away last year and was given to us to get around. Right after he died the car had an engine fire and repairing it has been stressful. I replaced the intake, got a tune up. The motor-mount has to be replaced. Causing the vehicle to shake while at the red lights. The turn signals and horn don't work properly. The power-steering fluid hardly stays. And the wire to the engine gets loose. I have to take apart the battery every time I turn off the car or it will not start.

My Alero has a sport suspension and a good engine and the steering is great! There are still a lot of them on the road, which attests for the quality of the make.
My vehicle is actually a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero but you didn't give me that choice. I LOVE my Oldsmobile Alero!! It's really too bad GM stopped making Oldsmobiles. It was the best car they've ever made. We've had Ninety-Eights, Eighty-Eights, Cutlasses, Achievas and Aleros. My Dad had the Chevy Impala and it was alright but not an Olds. Now he has a Cadillac. Personally, I don't like bucket seats and I don't like some of the sight lines in the new Chevys that I've test driven. I had a recall incident with my Alero that I took care of before the recall and GM did not reimburse me nor stand behind their product. Great way to treat members of the "GM Family." Customer service was actually rude.
