It drives nice, it is not to bad on gas, and 4 adults can ride in it comfortably.
I like how comfortable it is. I like that it accelerates quickly, also how it looks. I do not like how the interior lights work.

I love my car! Some of the really good benefits are the space. There is so much room in my car, which makes it very comfortable. The car drives smooth and is still very nice. Some of the negative things are, it is beginning to rust pretty bad underneath. There is a slip in the transmission possibly.

Chevy Impala provides reliability.
The 2004 Chevrolet Impala is a great, dependable vehicle that gets above average gas mileage and majority of repairs are minimal and at least not expensive. A great vehicle for commutes to and from work or school while providing a satisfactory comfort level of travel.

It's a supercharged 3.8 L witch gives it enough power to get down the road and pass when needed.

Maybe be poopy but runs good.
Problems: normal problems with changing brakes and rotators, sway bar broke, car is rusting, passenger back door fills with water, paint comes off easy, lights dull, no actual interior lights. Runs amazing though it is a soldier. Leather seat are hot in summer.

Comfortable and classy Chevy Impala.
I haven't had any issues with the car. I have owned the car for almost 2 years now and have only taken it in to the mechanic for an oil change. It gets great gas mileage. I have taken it from Iowa to New Brunswick, Canada and returned it without any issues coming up. Very reliable! The seats are made of cloth which can make cleaning a little difficult, but I prefer cloth over leather regardless. It is a great vehicle to take on road trips! Plenty of room in the trunk and a reliable motor to get you farther than you could in other vehicles. It sits a little low to the ground, which means you have to be careful in certain areas, but it is a smooth ride! My friends and family have commented on the comfort and accessibility in the car, all positive comments! The defrost on the back windshield works perfectly and very efficiently. The car that I have has a remote start which helps a ton in the winter season. Heating and air conditioning work perfectly, and I have never had any problems with either. Space wise, the Impala is a great vehicle for a small family or for about 4 adults to comfortably share. I love the fact that the trunk has room for an extra tire and is concealed with a tarp like cloth so that I can fit more into the trunk of the car!

I like the feeling of safety when driving it since it handles really well in the icy Michigan winter season.
I like that it has a smooth ride and a spacious and comfortable interior. It handles well in all seasons. It has comparatively good gas mileage. It is getting old, however, and little things are starting to go wrong with it.

I put a new engine in it about 5 years ago, so the mileage that shows in more than is on the engine
It's very comfortable and easy to drive, but the ignition keeps messing up and I have to wait 10 minutes before it will start. It appears to be a common problem with this make and year.

It was a great value. I think that if you are going to buy a car you should get your money's worth from it, and this car provides that in a reliable transportation.
I like the size of the vehicle - it is not too big and not too small. I can fit three friends comfortably in there, as well as their bags. I can shop at the store and get large items without having to worry about not being able to get it all home.

The most important thing would be that it has only had normal maintenance and nothing major.
The Impala was bought new in 2004 and has held up much better than any other car I have owned. And that includes other Chevy's. The car has 68000 actual miles and has only had tires replaced, rotors and drums replaced, and normal engine maintenance.
I have owned this car for awhile now and I enjoy the reliability the most. I have had minimal problems and basic repair needs such as brakes, cosmetic repairs. The parts needed are affordable and easy to get. The performance of this car has been awesome as well. I have driven this car in cold, snow, rain, heat and any other weather conditions and it has performed exactly how a car should. With lots of room on the inside it makes for a comfortable ride. I have recently driven this car from Ohio to Texas all without stopping and the entire ride was smooth and comfortable. As far as features. I have an automatic car starter which is very nice during the cold months along with heated leather seats. My one and only issue with this car is that it leant not have an auxiliary cord. Of course one can be put in and since has been but it would have been nice to have to begin with.

Otherwise my car has lasted me along time I but now I am starting to have a bigger family with my son and daughter so I need something bigger. The 2004 Chevy impala is an overall great car to own.
I bought this as a used car and I absolutely love it. I have only had one issue so far and that was the wire to the starter was loose. I got the hubs and brakes replaced when I bought it. The back struts also need to be replaced. The bottom trim rusted off but overall I am very happy with this car. Lots of space inside and very comfortable ride.

My caris gold colored, which I think is ugly. There is a crack in the front bumper and was is an accident before I bought it. It shakes some whenat speed. I want to replace it.

Long lasting, low maintenance.

This car is sturdy. I feel safe when driving it and when I was rear-ended I didn't take any damage and other than some scrapings of the paint on the bumper the car handled it well as well.
I like that it is sturdy. And since it is my first car I have a lot of positive feels for it. I like that it can fit at several people in because I can give people a ride. I dislike that it is a larger car and that it is heavy. The gas mileage leaves much to be desired. The car looks like a car for someone older than I am as well. It doesn't fit my vibe. I'd rather have a smaller more compact vehicle that looked a little more modern.

Chevy impala is a luxury at a great price.
I love my car. I have had no major issues with it. Smooth ride on long distance travels, great gas mileage and comfortable seats. There is plenty of legroom in the front and the back seat. The trunk space is huge! Plenty of room for your needs. The CD player and radio has great sound, also with amp in the trunk. Overall the impala is a great car for a family or a single person.

It is pretty low maintenance, has a really large trunk, fairly comfortable seats if you are not going on a long trip. Has a reasonably smooth ride and good handling. Does not get good gas mileage though, only about 18 mpg. And it is a little difficult to get in and out of if you have some mobility issues.

Over 10 years with the same car
It has a good engine. The 3.8 The coolant elbows were a bad design but since I put the metal ones in it has been ok. I just replaced the sway bar with a newly designed one. I have about 200,000 miles on it so that's not to bad. It gets better than average mpg on the highway. Easy 30

It is a very reliable car, it has made a good college car because of the mileage it has and the reliability. It is very spacious and you can comfortably fit a lot of things in there. The trunk is also very roomy so you can transport things without having to take two trips.

This car has one of the best engines around.
The body is starting to accumulate a lot of wear and tear. Other smalls things are starting to need to be replaced in the vehicle. That being said, it is 14 years old, and I live in the Midwest. So I am not really surprised. Everything else runs great! I believe this car is built very well.

Older Impala but still running.
Really love my Impala, my aunt gave it to me when she purchased a new vehicle. It gets great gas mileage and drives and rides smooth. Only problem I have is the passenger windshield wiper gets stuck and will quit working and we have had this fixed several times and it will do it again without warning.

Better new with low mileage.
My vehicle has shown issues with exhaust, locking ignition, struts and shocks issues. When researching fixes for said items, I have found that these particular issues are very common with my specific make and model. In my experience, Chevy sedan models tend to have functional errors like these. My experience is based on the current ownership of my vehicle and past vehicles that I have owned. However, each experience I have had has been with a higher mileage car, not a new purchase.

My Chevy impala runs great. I fortunately have not had to put a lot of money into it. I make the usual wear and tear trips to the mechanic, brakes, muffler, oil changes etc. The one negative I have noticed is the underside is quite rusty. I guess that is to be expected in NY.

Its gold with 4 doors with brown interior.
Power steering transmission leaks oil and transmission fluid drinks a lot of gas. The interior gets hot fast and the check engine light stays on. It drives smooth the transmission just leaks and causes it to slip. The battery is weak so sometime the radio do not come on.

I have a problem with my blinkers. Sometimes they will work and sometimes not. When I adjust the wheel they seemed to act up. Other than that it drives good. It rides a little rough sometimes. Love the sunroof. Also love the fact that I can pop the trunk from the inside.

Impressive impala with over 200,000 miles (mostly highway).
Overall has been very good - only very minor repairs. The transmission hesitates sometimes but have not had to replace it. You just have to gently accelerate. Average gas mileage - good a/c - comfortable ride. It has plenty of trunk space as well.

Great used vehicle couldn't ask for any better
I purchased the vehicle used and it has been a great work car. It has almost 200k miles on it and still runs and drives good. The gas mileage is still around 26 miles per gallon. The inside is roomy, comfortable and the ac works perfectly. Trunk space is large which is nice as well. Have found that parts are reasonably priced. Only having to replace the water pump in the year I've had it. Great purchase very reliable.

My car is a 6 cylinder supercharged. Chevy does not make it any more. To me I have a classic. She's had routine service and repairs and runs good for a car her age. I like my car a lot because she's never stalled out on me outside of the repairs. Highway drives are smooth sailings.

Uncomfortable Cramped Driver
Vehicle is extremely difficult to get in and out of. Also the space from the seat lowered as far as possible to the ceiling is not a lot. My head always hit the top. Steering wheel doesn't move very much so the up is still in your lap. If you were 5'3' and weighed 125 you would fit fine. Obviously we are not.

How to override the passlock system to be able to start the car

First experience with a Chevy impala.
I bought this vehicle from an older couple once I wrecked my previous vehicle. There were no problems when I first purchased it. Frequent oil changes and making sure everything is okay is keeping it on the road thus far. Its a 4 door has great air conditioner and heat. Gets pretty good gas mileage. It has heated seats and sometimes the driver seat doesn't heat up. Just recently had a tire put on it. Just wish it got better gas mileage. Have had problems in the past with it running hot but got that fixed. It has 6 seatbelts. It doesn't have child safety locks on the back doors.

I am not so in love with the interior color, which is light brown. My car gives me great performance. Gives me good mileage per gallon. This vehicle is perfect for a midsize family.
It is a smooth ride with less than desirable seats. The car sits very low to the ground but the power and dependability are second to a whole lot. Ir is not a luxury vehicle by far but it gets the job done and has plenty of room for a family of four.

My Chevrolet Impala has good gas mileage and still runs good after fourteen years.
Even though my car is 14 years old and still runs good. It has maintained its good looks. It is easy to drive. I have no complaints about my car.

The interior of car is plush seats that take little upkeep! The color is great.
It is a comfortable interior. The color is a gold to grey color inside and out. Haven't had much with it. Keep it clean change oil and whatever needs changing! Good size car four door plush interior that has held up good! Really been very reliable car that I have had.

Chevrolet Impalas has been very reliable.
Very reliable. Has had no problem other then the basic wear tear of the vehicle. Has hit 2 deer and has only needed light touch ups, the parts were easy to find and not very expensive. It gets good miles per gallon about 26, however, does go through a lot of oil.

The most important thing people should know about my car is its drivable.
What I love about my car is that it drives really smooth and everything in the inside works. I do not like that the car sits low so every time I come across a bump, I have to drive slow.

The shortcomings of the Chevrolet Impala
The Chevrolet Impala is pretty good in the city having pretty decent mileage but on the road it is a very rough ride, the only time that you get a smooth ride as when the road itself is very smooth if there are any small divots in the road you feel every single one and on the regular the alternator tends to go out every 2 to 3 years.
