2011 Chevrolet Malibu Owner Reviews & Problems
Reviews For Chevrolet Malibu
Great for road trips: comfortable, reliable and efficient.
I have not had any problems to date and my Malibu has 45k miles on it. The gas mileage is great and the car is comfortable for long road trips. My Malibu is perfect for commuting to and from work. The backseat is big enough to transport my two dogs and 7 year old step daughter. The a/c is always ice cold and heater warm. It has power windows and power locks. It has an AutoStart feature which I love, especially on cold days. I can heat my car from my living room. The trunk is extremely spacious, so my family always takes the Malibu when we go shopping. It fits two large suitcases and a carry on suitcase easily, so it's always the car we take on road trips. We like that its fuel efficient, comfortable and spacious. Another feature I really like is the fact that it stores oil change history and tells me when I am due for an oil change. I can also see how many miles are left before I need to refill my gas tank. The headlights have a feature where you can choose auto lights or manual which I like. The seats are power operated so you can move the seat forward or backward with the push of a button which makes it easy if different drivers of different heights need to switch off driving. This car has been very reliable and I am very happy with my purchase. I do not plan on trading it in or selling anytime soon.
193,000 miles with only 3 non major parts replaced due to wear and tear!
I have owned this car since early 2012 and it was used with 39,000 miles on it. Amazed by the car with the 2. 4 liter engine and the power it produced. It has been completely reliable to me with highway and city miles. The car now has 193,000 miles on it with very little repairs. All parts have lasted on this car factory wise except: left wheel hub bearing, exhaust manifold. Of course the tires and brakes and battery have had to be replaced but that is normal wear and tear. This car has been extremely comfortable and still is. Drives like its brand new! Very easy car to maintain. The interior is phenomenal! Has heated seats and automatic air conditioning, leather seats, great stereo and nice steering wheel controls for radio and cruise control. Overall opinion about this car is that it is extremely safe, comfortable and extremely reliable. Will definitely be buying the same car but never of course!
Was a Malibu the right choice?
It might have been that it was an impulse buy; I got in a wreck with my 2001 Malibu and I knew I liked my 01. I did talk my dealer down a little bit, but I agreed on a car without doing much on a background check and it was overpriced. Since I've had my car over the last 2 or so years I have dealt with its' constant bipolar attitude. It goes through moments of feeling like it does not want to accelerate or maintain speed, during cold weather constantly gets put into limp mode(spelling?), which is where three separate codes pop off on the dash, and then cuts my power to the engine. This can has proven to be kind of dangerous when doing it on the highway as I cannot reach speeds over 25mph. It is been a nice town car, but with where I live and my particular career it is been slightly unreliable and worries me.
Sedan with comfy seats, slick body on the outside and tailored to how you want.
My 2011 Malibu was the perfect choice for me. I love the space from front to back and even the trunk space is very spacious. I have AUX cord and CD player access, which is ok but I do wish it had Bluetooth. Having to fuss with the cord while driving is no fun. It does have compartments on the dashboard which I love and it does have a middle console you can adjust back and FWD to fit your body. Only downfall the cup carriers in the front are too small and will only fit one unless you have 2 small cups or bottles. I really love this car otherwise from the long slick body of the outside of the car, to the spacious inside of the car. Good interior seats are comfortable and the wheel is perfect. Overall I would buy it again and again.
Luxury and safety coexist in this vehicle~.
I purchased a 2011 certified pre-owned Chevy Malibu and have had no problems with it at all! The luxury feel of this full sized sedan goes way beyond the price paid. With the ltz package that I have there's just about every bell and whistle that was available at that time. There is plenty of interior room, even in the backseat! The trunk has ample cargo space and with the 40/60 split backseat gives even more options to carry your cargo. I feel very safe in this vehicle. It has all of the expected safety equipment. In addition, I like the sight lines I have in this vehicle. The seat can be adjusted in such a way that it boosts me up to get a perfect view all around. I would highly recommend the 2011 Chevy Malibu!
Chevys are great family cars.
It's a great vehicle, ran into a few minor problems such as the door locks had messed up but that is common on these models of cars. It's great on gas mileage. Most definitely a very reliable car, great for small families or traveling. It is also a very comfortable ride, I have drove it to travel and it's a very smooth ride. The inside is very spacious and easy to keep clean. The parts for the car is also very affordable and easy to find. Very durable inside and out. Sometimes in these models you have to watch the transmission but I haven't had any trouble in mine so far. It's just an all around great car. There are more pros than cons when looking to buy this vehicle.
This car is reliable and low maintenance for a reasonable price.
The Chevrolet Malibu is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. I purchased mine used with sixteen thousand miles pre-purchase, but it has never given me any trouble. The size of the sedan is average for it is vehicle range, but it is still enough room to fit a family of four average adult sized people. The car runs smoothly over long traveling distances and makes short work of the everyday stop and go of urban driving. While my vehicle did not come with all the bells and whistles of newer models, the interior is well suited for an everyday use car and the reliability and low maintenance more than make up for any shortcomings as related to no GPS or fancy radio.
Quality and comfy, yet slightly problematic.
I have really enjoyed my car. It has good gas mileage in the city and on the highway, runs smoothly, is quiet, and has a good built in speaker for the radio. It has several seat features such as heated seats, auto adjustable seats, and comfortable headrests that make it stand above the rest. The car is set high enough that the driver and passengers do not feel as if they are sitting on the ground which also maximizes comfort. It is easy to both drive and program. However, the rotors and brake pads on this car seem to wear down faster then they do on many other cars.
Built for comfort and easy on gas .
So far the car's performance has been pretty good . Love the fact that the seats are comfortable enough for long trips . Seat belts fit over my shoulder and not across my throat like most cars . What I don't like is the computer system in the car . Seems I am having to go get it the check engine light reset a few times a year . Tire low light always registers the wrong tire . If battery goes low the whole computer system goes crazy . Car shakes and sputters , every warning light comes on across the dash . This seems to be the norm with this model.
I feel like I have a high end car for a very fair price.
I love my heated leather seats (especially in the colder months), love my remote start, love my bose sound system, love the interior design, love that the car is spacious inside without being a large vehicle, exterior is nice for a 2011, and the headlights work very nicely. A few things I dislike: lack of sunroof, many issues with A/C not working properly, seat belt locks up a bit too easily often times, issues with not being able to adjust the volume using the steering wheel buttons (occurs more often when the car is hot).
