My Chevy is a great truck it has plenty of power and its pretty fast it has a 5.3 liter vortec V8 its has plenty of room inside it can fit up to 5 people comfortably even more if you include how many could fit in the bed of the truck my truck has taken a beating and it still drives like a dream and it has over 160k miles on it it has had minimal motor work done to it amazing truck would not trade I plan on keeping it till it falls apart

Oh, the places we'll go
This is the second Silverado I've owned. I love this truck for an all purpose vehicle; I can do my grocery shopping or take my dogs to the dog park and moving things is a breeze! I haven't had any performance issues with it, and I get the oil changed and fluids check on a regular basis. I prefer the fabric seats over the leather. No special features, just a handy, reliable truck to get me from point A to point B.

The ac is excellent. It would literally freeze you out if you left it on.
I really enjoy driving this vehicle. Pros: The ac and heater are excellent. A lot of room on the inside and in the box. It gets pretty good gas mileage compared to other trucks. Cons: The motor has a slight lifter tick. This is because from 03 to present, Chevy used cheap lifters so after about 90,000 miles it begins to tick. Just a slight tick. Other than that it's a pretty good truck

Too many repairs needed on this
This vehicle needs repairs frequently but has lasted quite a bit of time. However for the value of the vehicle the repairs are so costly I wouldn't recommend it.

My truck and it is many uses.
Good truck runs well but I have issues getting in and out of it because of my recent leg problem. Also it drives well in the winter time because of the four wheel drive system and had a lot of room to hall stuff for home project sand has slot of pair to two items.

The good and the bad of owning a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado.
I have not had any problems. The only bad thing is it is a gas hog the body is starting to rust out a little bit because of the winter weather over the years. I keep routine maintenance on it changing oil brakes rotors.We had to replace the power steering coil and pump a few weeks ago.

Runs great have not ran into any problems besides that it's a gas water just like every other truck, the interior of course is not the best but could be updated with a couple things, pretty spacious in the front but in the back not very, love that it has an LS 4.8 engine can rev faster than the 5.3 but of course the 5.3 will push more

2005 Chevy Silverado 1500.
This pickup is the smoothest driving vehicle I have ever driven. I am very comfortable in it and have rarely had any problems. It is very reliable going back and forth between college and my hometown. I also like the power the vortex engine provides to easily pass people. I would recommend this vehicle to anybody.

My Chevy 2005 Silverado 1500 is probably the most reliable vehicle that I have owned. It is a 2005 and the only work that have had to do was the oil changes and changing breaks. In 2013 it had gotten a new transmission but that was from a different owner. This truck runs like a gem and I recommend Chevy to everyone that is ask about their performance.

Just an all around excellent pick up truck.
Very reliable, easy to work on and parts are reasonable. Gets great gas mileage. It has a 4. 3 v-6 and an automatic transmission that work great. The resale value is high. It has enough power to pull a medium sized trailer. It seats 3 people comfortably and the air conditioner blows very cold.

One heavy Chevy is a workhorse.
The truck is metallic grey, four wheel drive, automatic, 6 ft bed really good size to fit in tight parking spots, the four wheel drive works great, push button on the fly, does very well in snow, and can pull quite a bit of weight, it seats 6 passengers with plenty of legroom.

Works great for what it is made for.
I have got 180, 000 miles on my truck and never had to work on the motor, however with a 6 inch lift the suspension is not able to hold up and breaks often.

My Chevy Silverado truck it will hit a hundred if I need it to.
It is the vehicle that every man should drive. It hauls all the tools and parts for me to work on my motorcycles. It really stands out on vacation very comfortable on long distance trips. The truck looks great and I wouldn't trade it for any other. My kids and my girlfriend think it is a great truck to love to go riding with me any time I ask. We use it for our family vehicle still wouldn't trade it for any other vehicle.

I love the fact that the truck is red.
I have recently had problems with the electrical system(is). The vehicle LOVES gas, as it averages 15.1 miles per gallon. The truck has very comfortable seats, and rides quite smoothly. I miss having the radio, which is probably inoperative, due to the electrical problems.

Highlight of my truck it has over 280,000 miles on it and it is an 05.
Well for starters I am a 3rd generation Chevrolet owner from my grandfather to my father now to me. My truck has over 280,000 miles and still running strong what I love about Chevy is u can find parts anywhere and affordable another thing is it is easy to work on when I need too. It is an older model so I do not have any high tech stuff. I plan to upgrade to a 2020 2500hd soon. The trucks are really the most dependable longest lasting trucks on the road today.

I have always loved trucks, this one has given me no major problems considering its used and the mileage on it. Could be a different color but I love my Chevy. Seats could be softer, other than that I wouldn't change anything about my truck. Performance is fine when kept up with everything.

Easily My Favorite Vehicle I've Owned
I bought this vehicle used. I have upgraded the tires as well as the headlights and taillights. It drives and handles extremely well. The gas mileage is a little better than what I expected. I can get 16 to 20 city miles on a quarter of a gas. Highway miles are excellent. I've not had any major problems with the vehicle since I've owned it.

My 2005 Chevrolet pick-up has potential to be a great truck.
My 2005 Silverado 1500 Chevrolet pickup needs some tuning up. All repairs are minor such as handle for automatic window on passenger side, back door handle on driver side, seat adjustment handle on driver side, a/c does not blow cold air, tires and oil change.

My husband bought this pick up after a contractor returned it in 2005. He drove it till his passing in 2011, I have drove it every sense. Neither of us has had any problems with it, I did have new brake lines put on a few years back other than that just kept up with regular maintenance.

Don't pull out in front of me while i am hauling a trailer. It doesn't stop that fast.
It has been dependable. The engine still runs strong at about 200,000 miles. A few of the gauges don't work now. I've put it through alot. It hauls a trailer every work day. I'm beginning my search for a new truck.

Fantastic vehicle for first truck or family truck.
My family loves this truck. Its very spacious. Very smooth riding down the road. And the best part is that the gas mileage is great. It has power window and locks and also has the feature to control the radio from the steering wheel area. We also like that it has airbags that turn on determined by the weight in the passenger seat so when our son has to ride up front which isn't very often they wont turn on and cause injuries to him if something happen. It's a great vehicle and would recommend it to anyone.

Cons of the 05' Silverado
I like a lot about my truck except for just a couple things. One being the manifold. I do not like how the manifold is hard to get to. When replacing the headers, it's extremely hard to reach the back bolts on either side. Especially with the common problem of bolts breaking off in the head, it's very difficult to work on this when it's so hard to reach. The other thing I dislike about my truck is that the back seats have hardly any room underneath. They also fold forwards which is frustrating when needing to get under them but you have stuff in the floorboard. You must clear the floorboard first to fold the seat up.

Best pick up on the market.
My 2005 Chevrolet crew cab pick up is very comfortable and roomy. It has over 200, 000 miles and I have only had to do routine maintenance. The motor is very sound with no problems, as well as the transmission. I am very pleased with the quality of this vehicle. Considering it is a v8 I get great gas mileage of 19. 9 miles per gallon in everyday traffic and better on the highway.

Chevrolet reliability in used vehicle.
This vehicle was purchased used having been reworked from being a fleet vehicle. We have been very pleased with overall performance and reliability having only had minor repairs done in the six years we have owned. We like the size of truck for allowing us to see out clearly in all directions without straining.

Great Truck, Comfortable, Goes Through A Lot of Gas
The truck is comfortable, but it does go through a lot of gas. The truck hauls cargo and trailers very easily. I have high mileage: 280,000+ miles, and I haven't had too many problems, just buying a new battery, power steering pump, hoses, things like that. No big problems. It's a good truck with good ac and rides smooth. My only concern is the gas mileage.

Chevrolet Silverado extended cab moves really good over bumps in the road potholes and is good off-roading and we can tow other cars or a trailer we've had our truck for over 10 years now and it still runs great I kind of wish we got it a different color but other than that everything works great camping with the truck is fun all you really need to do is bring a mattress and just put it in the back and some blankets and you just sit up at night and stare at the stars me and my family we've all had a great time in the truck and now it is going down to the second generation it is built strong it is reliable we've always but for me Chevrolet they're great.

Overall performances the truck

Reliability with minimal upkeep.
The transmission has always had this clunk sound even from the first. We have 390,000 miles on this truck. We have replaced the motor, but the transmission is still the original one. The upholstery is in good condition with a small tear in the driver side seat.

It rides comfortably and handles like a charm even on our dirt road.
We live on a clay dirt road so when it rains it is nice to have the pick up truck. Our truck is 4x4 which comes in handy also. It rides comfortably. Our truck has over 300, 000 miles and is still ticking with no problem. It handles like a charm. We have had to change the starter on it once. If I were to buy another truck it would be this one. We have the extended cap which comes in handy with our child.
