It does great in all types of weather including snow
I love the dependability it has and that it does well in all types of weather

LOVE my Chevy Silverado!!!
The vehicle has a Tamara airbag that needs to be replaced. Other than that the truck is amazing. If or when it finally dies (it has over 300,000 miles on it and is running strong) I will purchase another Silverado

It's a typical, but very comfortable truck.
It is a very comfortable vehicle. Typical maintenance is easy and is affordable. It is not an expensive vehicle to drive. The only thing I have an issue with is the cloth seats. Unfortunately, you need to have seat covers if you have children, as that are very hard to keep clean. Other than that it is a great vehicle and I love it.
accountCircle Michael K
Great truck. Does not have a ton of extras. But can get any job done I need.
Ok on gas. Has a wide turning radius so parking can sometimes be a challenge. But I love my truck. Have done basic maintenance. Brakes rotors. New tires. Have had some issues with it sticking in 4wd but have found a trick online to fix that. Not a lot of storage inside and could use a better stereo. But no problems hauling my camper or going down an icy road.

Well built and reliable, would buy another one for sure.
The ltz package is a very nice trim level. The truck has the 6.2 liter engine with 20' wheels. Very comfortable ride. Also has the tow package and transmission cooler which really helps. I drive about 50,000 miles a year and would buy another one.

I am in love with my Chevy!
The truck is very reliable and very comfortable. Hopefully this will be my last Chevrolet pickup. I have always bought Chevrolet pickups and this one has been my favorite. Plenty of room in the extended cab of the truck. I put a leveling kit and bigger tires on the truck and it set it off.

The family getaway. Always feel safe on road trips.
I love my truck have not had any major problems with it.. Just simple take care of it as kept me on the road. Me and my family have took several safe trips on the road..Never have had a issue with the ac / heat. Also great on the gas! I highly recommend this truck..

That it's sturdy and reliable and should last a long time
The extended cab makes it easy for groceries, extra people just like have a car but with also having the bed you can carry a whole lot more. It rides comfortably and maintenance isn't pric9

Chevrolet issues with a used vehicle.
I bought this truck used and have had many mechanical issues it the short time I've had it. The service light was on before I ever made my first payment, then problems with the oil pressure unit and was told this model was bad for that. I bought this truck because I was in need but regret the decision.

Power steering is hard to turn when cold.
I keep having my fuel pump to go out. And it is very upsetting to have to drop the gas tank to replace it otherwise it is a dependable car. Never had problems until three years ago bb every since then I had to replace it on three different occasions.

It is a good work truck and with the right accessories it can look even tougher than it already does
Do not like that its a single cab and the locks and windows are manual. Also, had to have many repairs already. I do like that it's tough looking
accountCircle Brittany H
It is not fuel efficient at all.
I like that it is attractive, powerful, with lots of features. I dislike the gas mileage. I wish it had more room as well.

Overall a very good truck.
Does not get gas mileage it was suppose to get. Rides good lots of room, foot room on drivers side not enough.
accountCircle Pedro P
The comfort of the drive in my pickup is great, and has great response.
The truck is fine and drives well, but it is to small for what I need as far as towing and cabin space. Gas motor is not quite what I am looking for either, I want a diesel engine so I can boost my toruń capacity. I believe the outside door handles need to be better made, I have the chrome ones and the are actually plastic, so yea my son has broke a couple already.
accountCircle Jessica C
For the most part l like my car.
It has a blower that does not work all the time. One of the mirrors is broken. It also has some rust on it. The car is older and does not get a lot of gas mileage. I like the heated seats also it has a lot of storage in the back on the whole car itself.

It is very reliable. I have not had any major problems with it. I have only had to change the battery headlight and door handle.

No major recalls on this vehicle. It is very reliable compared to other makes I have seen. Parts are not too expensive and the maintenance is pretty easy.

accountCircle Cheyenne B

Yes. Occasional transmission problems, gear shifter problems, defrost problems, ball joint problems.

accountCircle Brandy M

Yes it is reliable. We have not had any problems and is good on gas and mileage. We have not had any problems so far with our truck.

accountCircle Velvet H

Very reliable vehicle. No major issues with motor. No issues with any of the electronics. Only major expense was a new set of tires.

accountCircle Lisa D

Yes, very reliable. No problems, other than the regular wear and tear on a vehicle. The only issue I've had is the extended cab doors try to swing shut after opening. So whatever is supposed to hold then open doesn't work properly.

accountCircle Kayla P

No I have had no problems outside of standard maintenance which I have done by my Chevy dealer twice a year

accountCircle Pamela H

I have not run into any issues with the truck, no. I believe it is very reliable, but it does take a lot of gas.

How Does the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Compare to Other Trucks?

Based on owner reviews, the 2011 Chevy Silverado ranks 7th out of 15 full-size trucks, putting it in the middle of its class. One of its closest competitors is the Ford F-150, which has better safety ratings, and a higher quality interior. Both trucks have similar reliability ratings, and can tow nearly the same weight. Ultimately, choosing between the two comes down to brand preference, since they are both great trucks.

Another competitor is the Ram 1500 series, which has a more comfortable driving experience, and a better technologically-advanced interior. Where the Ram loses to Chevy is in reliability, since it will not last as long. Between the two trucks, the Silverado is the better choice since it is going to spend less time in the shop.

My 2011 Silverado LTZ is AWESOME
Bought this truck new, have 136,000 miles. Just bought serpentine and AC belts with new tensioner and pulley, but upon inspection the old ones still look pretty good, so will delay install until spring. No major repairs on this vehicle, other than usual maintenance items (tires, brakes, shocks). I did upgrade the radio with a Pioneer unit with wireless carplay, works great with the bose speakers/amps. Also, at 100K, like my previous 2002 Tahoe, the drivers seat cover and foam was breaking/broken down, so I replaced both, OEM on the seat cover (matches pretty good) and got aftermaket foam, which is stiffer. I also had to repair the drivers side lumbar support - easy DIY - and that has lasted a pretty long time so far..... I was wanting a new car with adaptive cruise control and all the other new gadgets, but with the current state of new car inventory, went with the upgraded radio and will drive this truck to 200K..... That is my plan!

Still gets me to where I need to be!
After about 130,000 miles the transmission needed to be rebuilt and the radiator replaced because the rpm kept jumping. Even though I took very well care of the vehicle it still had these problems. The heater also is not operating very well at the moment. It tries to turn on but will not.

Chevy silverado pros and cons.
Intermittent problems that I wouldn't consider normal wear and tear. Uses some oil between oil changes. Very comfortable for long trips. Overall fairly reliable. Ability to tow and work the truck when needed. Would consider buying another silverado in the future.

The Chevy Silverado 1500 lt is capable of any job you'd need to get done.
The truck runs great, performs just the same in the heat, cold, goes up hills great, goes down hills great. I pull my boat just fine and the gas mileage is not great but it really is not bad for the area I live in. The trucks air conditioning and heater works fast and powerful within moments of turning the vehicle on.

I like how the exterior looks, in my opinion it looks better than the new models.
Best purchase I made was buying a Chevy Silverado, I do not regret buying it because it does not give me any problems. I bought the car with 70k and it is now on 140k and had no issues whatsoever. The only thing I recommend is buying a newer model for example a 2015 Chevy Silverado would be a great purchase because of the looks. I heard that year model the ax goes out but that can be fixed.

Runs like a beast. Love the 4x4 I use it often. I haven’t had any problems out of it yet. I have had it for six months and have put 6 k miles on it. Very good on gas. I usually get 420 miles to a 25 gallon tank of regular unleaded. By far the best truck I have ever owned.

Very reliable. Comfortable with a decent sized back seat. Bed that can hold a huge tool box if you work in construction or iron work. Haven’t had any out of the normal issues. Does take a lot of gas. Not a ‘family’ vehicle but definitely a good work truck or for someone with a kid or two.

This has been the best truck ever. I have not had any problems out of this truck I have not ever had to put it in the shop. I have only had to change the oil as regular maintenance. This truck is a very smooth ride it drives well in all weather. It is a must have.

My Silverado is a nice truck. It runs great and does not give me any problems.
My truck does not have all the bells and whistles, but it runs beautifully. It is getting up there in the years, and needs a bit of work, yet it is made it through one crash and protected my family and I from the crash. It has comfortable seating, and enough room for 5 people. One problem is that it does not have a USB port, but other than that it is great.

Great all around vehicle.
There is some rust starting to establish itself under the wheel wells of the back bed especially. I have added chrome fender flares to cover some of it up. Plastic chrome handles on doors have a tendency to break. Need to check bolts on exhaust manifold periodically as they have a tendency of unscrewing themselves, however they are really easy to get to and with a little loctite they should stay right in. I am very pleased with the truck overall and the performance of the engine is great.

Very smooth riding truck with easy steering wheel controls.
Overall the truck is very smooth riding and comfortable. It alerts whenever you have a low tire or any issue, I love how you can connect your phone to your truck with Bluetooth. Another thing I love is the steering wheel radio controls it makes it easy when you are driving to change the radio station or turn down the music.

The only thing I would change is id get the 4 door instead of the 2 doors & a little bit longer bed, other than that it's been a perfectly reliable truck has mo never left me stranded, actually every1 calls me to rescue them, it gets awesome gas mileage just a all around great truck,I also left the stock tires on I didn't go put big tires on it just because it was a truck.

Over all my truck is very reliable, and a very sharp truck to drive.
It is my baby, I get fairly good gas mileage, it is very reliable I like the comfort use it to drive to FL every yr. I do not like the placement of the door handle it hits me in the knee. All that I need to do is reg maintenant. The bed liner is a truck saver.

Four wheel drive Chevy great handling.
Not great on gas mileage but handles very well have over 200,000 miles on it. It is four wheel drive so it gets me around in bad weather I would recommend this type of truck for the fact the four wheel drive handles well if you need to haul stuff you have the capacity.

My truck has the 4.8 v8 Chevy engine in it.
I have only had two problems with my 2011 Chevrolet lt 1500 Silverado. Which was corrosion on my fuse box chasing the fuel pump not to work and start, and needing to place a sway bar, and a great set of tires due to uneven wear because of the warped sway bar.

Why I love my truck. I really love the 4 wheel drive.
I really love my truck. It has a bench seat so we can fit more people. It has a long bed which helps with hauling things. It has a 5 disc CD player with built in Sirius radio. It drives really nice not like a field truck and it has 4 wheel drive which is awesome cause we get alot of snow.
accountCircle Shawn J on April 2, 2021
No frills but gets the job done.
Not too many features compared to the ls version. Has everything you need for a pickup. Has 4 wheel drive so can go anywhere I need it to. Wish it had some more power. Feels sluggish getting onto a freeway and affects gas mileage. Could be the rear end gearing but sits at about 2000 rpms under highway speeds which kills the gas mileage.

Very reliable, some problems.
My family bought this vehicle used in 2016. It has served as a work truck in heavy off road areas. There have been several problems over the years, as what happens to every vehicle. Recently, as of 2019, there has been an increase of problems due to its extensive use. Even with this, the problems are usually easy to identify and fix. So far it has proved to be a very reliable vehicle, which is to be expected from a Chevy.

It is a great truck to drive, very useful.
Truck rides really good, nice comfortable interior, engine could be more powerful (5.3 liter v8). No major issues since I've owned the truck. Fuel economy is about average for a full-size 4x4 pickup truck, I'm averaging about 13-14 mpg city and 17-18 highway. The truck does have active fuel management to help with gas mileage also. I have the LT trim level and it is nice for what it is, carpet power seats, remote start, parking sensors, adjustable pedals, etc.

The Chevy Silverado is perfect for people who want to own a truck that also have a small family. We are able to fit a total of five people in the truck, two up front and three in the back. The truck is a great starter truck if you have never drove one before. The seats are very comfortable though for short people the seat does not move up very far. Drives very well easy to handle. I've had my truck for 6 years, it's runs very well, fits my family very roomy. Has built in DVD player, great radio, nice interior color, also has running board that come in handy very easy to maintain also has handles to hold on to, very family friendly I would highly recommend.

Practical for hauling, economical for running around, and comfortable commuting.
Great practical vehicle and comfortable to drive. Multi-functional cab when seats are up. Basic stereo features. Lots of storage space. Reliable and safe with plenty of legroom in the front and back. My only wish is the ability to open the back window.

Spacious reliable full size truck.
Great truck. Haven't had too many issues. Oil sensor is faulty and have had to have that replaced two times. Rust becomes an issue around the wheel wells after a few years of use. Very reliable overall. Feels very safe and having the choice of using regular gas and e85 is a nice feature. Rides comfortable for a full sized truck. Crew cab is spacious and easily fits four grown adults comfortably. Have used to tow a pontoon boat on a weekly basis and have never had any issues doing so.

Great truck. No major issues.
I haven't had any major problems with my truck. Just a few small maintenance things such as having to change the thermostat. I also had an issue with the emissions carbon filter. Otherwise my vehicle runs great. The doors have an issue where they do not seal all the way so you can hear the air rushing as you drive.

I receive compliments on the condition of my vehicle.
Purchased vehicle new and all 190000+ miles are mines. During the time of ownership I completed scheduled oil change. The only major repair was to replace the motor at the five year mark with mileage of 150000+. All other repairs are accident related. I love my vehicle.

Chevy Silverado issues and praises
It runs great, I've had issues with the transmission (that is normal for that year of Chevy) but other than that it's been a great and reliable vehicle.
