Texas edition Silverado crew cab is the Lone Star.
No problems. Well maintained and serviced. Change oil frequent. Balance tires. Check fluids frequent. Wash and clean interior to meet standards. Performance is responsive to demand. Reliability has been consistent other than changing out the battery. Comfort is Texas edition. Features are responsive in the Texas edition.

It makes odd noises but it is reliable.
I have nothing to really complain about it. I have had some issues with the brakes and I constantly have to change the oil but other than that I do not have anything negative to say about it. Besides this odd noise that it keeps making. Even though mechanics couldn't figure out what it was.

Luxury and usability in one package.
No real problems, just routine maintenance and tires. Been a solid vehicle for years. Interior is nice, leather, all the bells and whistles. Nice balance of a luxury vehicle on the inside, with all the benefits of having a truck for towing, hauling..Etc.

Great and very reliable truck.
Great reliable truck. I keep up with regular maintenance and thus far over 100,000 miles and have never had any major issues besides normal wear and tear. I have used it to tow different trailers and pulls with no problems, the brake controller is very responsive.

Ignition issue and wheel/axle issue.
The key ignition gets stuck and I have to jiggle the key many times in order for the ignition to start. Apparently this is a recall issue and I am waiting to hear back from the manufacturer. Also many of these pickups have a squeaking noise that comes from turning and it is common on the early 2010s models.

Chevy Silverado is a beast.
My 2012 Chevrolet Silverado is a beast. It is taken me back and forth all around the country and I have never had an issue with it. My only complaint is that the road noise is pretty loud. I have never had any performance issues. It sure is a gas guzzler!

Drives smooth, especially over bumps and uneven roads. Rides comfortable well.
Does not work well when you have children that are in car seats and when having to get groceries or will have shopping bags in truck. There is not enough room for both child and shopping items inside of truck. Also, the doors and parking are an issue when trying to get child out or in truck and the way the doors open.

2012 Chevrolet Silverado extended cab.
It has a great build, has been easy to maintain, is very reliable, has plenty of space in the bed, and has just about all of the features you wouldn't want in a work truck. It does not have the fuel efficiency that newer trucks have but it is been great so far.

Super reliable truck to fit all of someone’s needs.
Absolutely love it. Had it for about a year now and haven't had a single problem with it. Over 110,000 miles but runs like it is under 50,000. Only problem I have noticed is with the Florida heat some of the stuck on panels are starting to pop off a little but that is a relatively easy fix. All around a highly reliable vehicle. Of course it is going to guzzle some gas but it is a truck it is to be expected. Out of the 4 vehicles I have owned this one is definitely my favorite. Highly recommend Chevy and specifically Silverados to anyone looking for a new vehicle, one that can take a beating and just keep trucking along. The flex fuel compatibility is a plus but I hardly ever use it. Basic maintenance is also really easy if you are one that prefers to do oil changes and brakes yourself.

If I could do it all over again I would.
It is a truck. To say I use it as a truck is a lie. I use it more as a car that gets really bad gas mileage, but I still do love it. The few times I used it as a truck, it did its jobs wonderfully. It has a good amount of room and makes me smile. If I could I wouldn't buy it again though.

Love the interior and black color of it.
It is very reliable I have had it for 3 years and it has never broke down. I do drive a lot though so I have put on quite a few miles but it is still running good. The interior is great. Black leather seats are nice and have nothing wrong with them even after 3 years. The outside has some rust spots but that is to be expected. Overall it is a great truck and I’d recommend it to anyone!

Trucks do more than minivans.
Chevy trucks are one of the most reliable trucks on the roads today. As a mother of two, my Chevy truck makes me feel safe and secure traveling anywhere with my children. I am also able to pull a camper, how many groceries, sports equipment and many more things, without infringing on seating room. It is an all around vehicle for any job.

Trucks are great to add customizations to and really personalize it.
My 2012 Silverado is amazing. I have had it for about 6 months now and have had no issues with it at all. It tows everything I have needed it to and actually does pretty well on gas mileage. One of my complaints with Silverados is the rusting that happens on the rear wheel quarter panels. That is something pricy to fix, but with the truck being 8 years old and it never being placed in a garage I would consider it to be handling well for the weathering it has seen.

It has the most room that I have ever seen in a truck.
My vehicle is great, I just love it. The major problem that I just do not understand is that the traction control and stabilitrak will not turn on. Plus, the oil pressure gets low when the oil life is under 10 percent. I believe it is a oil lifter valve.

Chevy truck was an awesome buy!
A comfort that would have made getting in a bit easier would be a handle to haul yourself up into the truck on the driver's side. There's one on every other door except the driver's, and crawling up into it can be a chore. The gas mileage is great, can go for a week or a week and a half without having to fill up.

Chevy Silverado provides good value.
Reliable and durable. No mechanical issues at 85,000 miles. Wish the gas mileage was a little better and that the interior was more susceptible to sweat. Like the tinted windows it came with. Have a few minor issues with seat belts and locks and center console.

Great size and runs great. The upholstery, dashboard controls and electric window controls, however have worn out too quickly. This has never happened in any of our previous vehicles, even our other Chevy trucks.

Pros and consignment a Silverado truck that I own.
I love my truck it has 4 wheel drive and it has a lot of room and fits comfortably several people I has fog light an a push bar an it does really well on gas. It has low mileage an it has a rhino bed liner the only bad thing is the fact it does not have step bumper to get up in truck.

Big enough for a man and small enough for a woman.
This truck is perfect for us. We have kids and the back seat is spacious enough for a car seat and all of our things. This truck is extremely reliable and very good on gas. It rides smooth and is quiet. We have taken in on long trips and it is very comfortable. I highly recommend anyone to buy this vehicle. Females too, it is a big truck but small enough for us women to maneuver!

Chevy Silverado is the best.
I have not had any problems as of today and I have been pulling a 30 ft travel trailer with it for over a year and a half straight. It has been dependable and reliable. I bought it used with only one owner and only 14,000 miles. I am now at 30,000 miles with no anticipated problems. It can take the fuel as well. Gas mileage isn't bad, about 15mpg. Pulling trailer it's at about 7-8 mpg. Not a lot of bells and whistles but more than enough to meet my needs.

General Silverado review.
The only thing I've had to fix was a wheel bearing which I was informed is fairly common. Other than that regular oil changes and tune ups. The turn button 4 wheel drive is nice especially in the winter. I was a ford guy until I bought this truck. Love it.
accountCircle Matthew H on February 12, 2021
2012 Silverado z71. Highly recommend.
The truck has amazing power train. Like most gm vehicles the window regulators begin wearing out after around five years but are not very expensive to have replaces. The display on the radio and clock has also gotten occasionally blurry but tapping it clears it up. It is rated for 14 miles per gallon city and 21 miles per gallon highway I believe. After 90k miles I average 15.7 miles per gallon. The motor has plenty of power. The truck is plenty fast and does a great job hauling weight. With the tow haul mode engaged I had no trouble pulling 2 tons of pellets for my stove. The four wheel drive works great as well. Even on ice I can drive normally as long as I leave extra space for braking since four wheel drive does not help with stopping on slick surfaces. I plan to keep this truck until it just cannot go anymore and I fully expect that to be another ten years or more. If you take good care of it this truck will last a very long time. I work in an auto shop and I have seen many of these come through for basic maintenance. Typically they are all in good running order even well over 200 thousand miles. I also wrecked mine and it was considered totaled by the insurance but I bought it back. Significant wreck and the damage should have been much worse. But the truck also did a fantastic job of protecting me as I came out of it unscathed.
accountCircle Grace G on February 5, 2021
Chevy Silverado dependable, stylish and practical.
The Silverado is a reliable truck with a luxury feel to it. I get about 18 mpg with mostly highway travels. My truck is 6 years old and with regular oil changes I have not had any major issues. Take size into consideration, if you are not used to a large I would suggest try parking it on your test drive to see if it is for you. I have driven buses before and there are tight beach cities that can be a headache to park . I have also used my truck to move several friends and it has never let my down.
accountCircle Zach W on February 3, 2021
My work Silverado, mostly good.
I often have issues with the airbag system warnings. Additionally the traction control often has issues as well as the stabilitrak. Most of the time if I park on a hill I get error codes in regards to stabilitrak and traction control. Once I am on flat ground my truck has no issues.

Sharp sporty lines for a truck.
Great truck, but not as solid as the older models, and not as good in the snow. Very easy to drive for a big automobile, lots of room even in the extended cab edition. Would like to see less electronic options, particularly the windows, they always fail after about 5 years.
accountCircle Mandy B on January 29, 2021
I particularly love the hands-free calling and easy to use 4 wheel drive.
It drives great and will pull just about anything I need it to. The seats are very comfortable as compared to both ford & dodge. Love my Chevy Silverado pick-up!
This truck is a strong, dependable vehicle with very little maintenance required. It has a spacious interior for an extended cab, easily accommodating six passengers, a fold-down center front console with tons of storage, and provides a smooth ride. The only drawback is that the seats do not offer a lot of low-back support so long road-trips are not the most comfortable.

There are really no problems except for the normal wear and tear that a vehicle goes through during normal operations. Since I have owned this vehicle I have not had any real problems with the operation of it. I have maintained a diligent upkeep on it such things as regular maintenance, the changing of fluids regular tune ups on it and immediately replace and or repair anything that appears to need addressing.

The vehicle is very exceptional, nice interior, very reliable but there is one problem. This 2012 model was equipped with suicide doors for the extended cab. While I love that you can open it flat against the truck making access a breeze over time the seal has become an issue. This is the best truck I have ever owned. It is very comfortable, easy to drive and rides very smooth. The engine runs great and have never had a problem. I have never had a problem in all the time I have owned it. The parts are easy to get if you need them and it's very easy to fix. It's not real good on gas but it's worth it because it runs great.

From the steering wheel you can almost control everything.
Back seat is too small. Although the front of very roomy. The radio is not touchscreen but the speakers are great factory. The gas mileage is great compared to older modern Chevy Silverado. You only have to change the oil every 5,000 miles instead of 3,000 if you use the right oil that is recommended.

I love it. It is a very comfortable ride and very reliable in all weather.
I love the looks of it and how reliable it is. It came with many options and we were able to add more. It does use a lot of gas as expected but would be nice if it was more fuel efficient.

Very reliable and comfortable.
It is a very reliable and durable truck. I have had it for about 2 years now and it is been good other than a few tire changes, but that is any vehicle really. The seats are comfy and the ac works pretty good as well. All around I'd highly recommend it if your in the market for a pickup truck.

My quick thoughts on the 2012 Silverado
It's a great truck ,rides smooth ,it has all the necessary features for light commercial use. It could use more inside storage space.

It does the job - towes well and hauls everything
The size and comfort of the truck is nice. It has pretty good gas mileage and reliable

The good the bad and not so ugly.
The truck runs great. Obviously not great on gas. Suspension is fine. Single cab interior is good with enough room and meets my needs. The body is stylish with a great front end. I would prefer that a leveler was standard format for these trucks. The multiple upgrades should be commonplace in these vehicles and standard for the price of this vehicle.

Lots of power and fun to drive.
My vehicle is very reliable. I love the performance and all of its amazing features. It is also a very comfortable ride. This is a great vehicle for work or for family. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone. Lots of power and fun to drive. I absolutely love it.

Silver bullet hauls everything from home projects to weekly groceries.
As a shorter person, it is hard to see over the steering wheel at times. I wish the seats were able to move up towards the ceiling of the truck. I love all the cup holder options! It is perfect for when my family travels and we all have water, coffee, and smoothies.

While a little simple on the inside, it is still a workhorse and nice truck.
It is spacious on the inside. The dashboard is nice and simple, but a little plain. It has a digital speedometer in the same area that has the odometer, oil life, trip a, trip b, etc. But you can only see one at a time. It is a great truck for working, to get me places, and run errands.

It is a vehicle that I would recommend to truck lovers and looking to upgrade.
It runs great and very good on highway miles on gas. It also has a nice traction when roads are wet. Power windows and locks. Good sound system too. Very reliable vehicle with no wear and tear even with high mileage. I like the extended cab feature that it has also.

Reliable trucks. . . Chevrolet.
Always have had Chevy trucks. Very reliable. This is the first extended cab and really like that. Pretty roomy in back seats. This has been a very reliable truck. Would highly recommend Chevy trucks. Always have liked the body style of the Chevy trucks from year to year.

Lifted on rims supercharged, and fast af.
Very reliable, the only complaint I have is my current job and having to use it. Other than that it a great truck. Leather seats would have been a great option. Also had to reinstall speakers because they were blown. Does have to service trans after 150,000 miles. Great decision.

I love the engine. It's great for a truck. It's just too big.
It has the same engine as a Corvette. I feel as if that's interesting

Dependability and reliability.
My 2012 Chevrolet Silverado is by far the best vehicle I have owned. Dependability and reliability are it is most important qualities. Gas mileage could be a little better but the truck still does decently well in that area. My biggest problem with the truck is the electric wiring shorts out from time to time.

Very shiny and reasonable gas mileage
Like everything about my truck. Great handling and comfortable ride.

Full size truck with plenty of space to do anything life throws at you.
I absolutely love my Silverado. Haven't had any mechanical issues, every reliable, plenty of room in the front and rear for family members or friends. Only downside I can think of is gas mileage in the city but that is to be expected with a full size truck.
