The 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 lasts around 250,000 miles with some minor belt and transmission software issues. At $25,900 to $50,401, it’s a good value for a dependable truck with a high towing capacity.

likeFilled The Good
The cabin is very quiet for a truck, the steering is responsive and the Chevy MyLink stereo system works great.
dislikeFilled The Bad
Braking distances are longer than other trucks, the suspension is firm on rough roads, and the base engine is weak.

2018 Chevrolet pickup - ltz.
I have no problems with my vehicle, since the day I bought I have nothing but enjoyment, I have others Chevys before and honestly this one is the most comfortable riding one I have ever had love all the features, leather seats, automatic retractable side steps.

Perfect for those everyday needs so long as you are not hauling travel trailers.
Back seat is a little small on the double cab, so if you plan on having passengers back there often I'd go for the full crew. The ride is smooth and comfortable. Haven't had any problems with engine or any other. I have a bed cover and average around 24 mpg.
accountCircle Dana P
It has the high country package on it and it was well worth it high travel.
I bought my truck new. And I have had no major problems with it. I haul trailers and work with it. Travel and lots more. It is a very reliable truck and would buy another one as soon as this one is outdated. Fully loaded and well worth the extra money.

Ford customer service was horrible so I went Chevy.
Really smooth ride with a lot of interior space. Very dependable with any job I am given to perform.
accountCircle Sue W
The truck handles really great and I feel safe in it.
Only complaint that I have is I wish it had an area between the front seats, on the floor, where I could put my purse without it falling over when I turn a corner. So far, I am really happy and have no other complaints about the truck

Best performing company on the market.
The 2018 Chevrolet 1500 lt is an amazing truck. I have owned several chevrolet’s in my lifetime and there quality is above and beyond any other companies out there. The back up camera is amazing and truly helpful when backing into tight spaces by yourself. This is by far my favorite vehicle I have ever owned from looks to performance there simply is not one better.

Great truck. For hauling, work and family.
Great power on the truck to haul. Doesn't eat a lot of gas. Only detail is that when you drive on freeways engine goes to 4 cylinder which make the truck jump a little. Other than that it's a great truck for work or go out with the family and friends. Highly recommended.

I would not buy another.
The fuel sending sensor goes out every time we get the winter blend gas. The drivers sear is wearing out at 18,000 miles. It's a nice looking truck. It runs well but the gas guage is a 900.00 fix you can count on yearly if you live where it's cold. I should have stayed with a toyota.

The body style is beautiful
No problems, just wish it had better gas mileage. It runs So great it is a awesome vehicle I love it, it's just a little too big but the backseat is too small. I have a baby so the car seat doesn't always fit too good in the backseat. But other than that I have no complaints on the Silverado.

Engine light Problems
We bought a 2018 chev Silverado LT First 500 km we had trouble with the navigational system it disappeared. We had 5 km leftbefore warranty went off and the dealer did nothing for us. Then the engine light came on and we figured out it was on in relation to the cap less fuel opening but not sure what’s causing it. We have to get the code removed every time we fuel . We tried putting foam over it to protect it from dirt but still it’s acting up.

Starter went bad at 49000 miles. I have heard from others that the starter is a known problem. Bought a new truck to avoid this type of problem

Crew cab, plenty of room for 6 passengers
Chevrolet crew cab, has electric windows , with 4 wheel drive, cargo area has sprayed on bed liner, room enough for 6 people to sit comfortably. Silver in color and is a good crew cab truck. Interior is cloth seats. Has air conditioner and cruise control . It's ok on gas and has good power for the engine size.

2018 chevy Silverado 1500 crew cab v6
My chevy truck is nice dependable vehicle. Started with the base model v6 and its good on gas mileage .....although I have the crew cab I really need that space or the double cab. It has ample room for a small family but I need more room. The v6 engine ha surprised me this far but haven't towed any weight with it as of yet
accountCircle Mike B
It is big, if I hit another vehicle that vehicle may be in bad shape.
The Silverado is black crew cab. I like that it is new and dependable. I think it is bigger than I like vehicles to be that I drive. I bought this for my wife, but I am primary driver.
accountCircle Eric C
Small things I do not like about my Chevy.
I enjoy this vehicle but it tends to shake when it accelerates above 75 miles an hour. I have also had issues with the starter remote start and manual key start. Apple CarPlay is inconsistent and seems to be in conflict with the factory electronic a cluster. I think bedliners should be standard and all pickup trucks. Have also found that some of the interior features are poorly manufactured for example the eyeglass/sunglass holder is broken in hardly gets used at all.

Worn-out serpentine accessory belts are the most widespread complaint from Silverado owners in the first 15,000 miles. The original belts on the truck tend to wear out quicker than many other brands. Replacing the belt costs around $250, while some owners choose to upgrade to a stronger belt which lasts longer for around $350.

Difficulty changing gears is another issue mentioned by Silverado owners at roughly 10,000 miles. There are software updates for the transmission control module which improves its performance. Most dealerships will update the transmission for free, while others may charge around $100.

A/C system issues have also shown up on some Chevy Silverado models at around 70,000 miles. The air conditioner condenser is known to fail, leading to a situation where it doesn’t cool the truck. Replacing the condenser costs around $1,200, depending on local labor rates.

There are 3 recalls on the 2018 Chevy Silverado, which is fewer than many other full size trucks from the same year. The most serious recall covers the vacuum pump, which causes the brake pedal to feel heavier. GM will reprogram the vacuum pump on affected models for free. The other recall covers the electronic brake control module, which Chevy will also reprogram for free.

How Long Will the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Last?

A well-maintained 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 series can last around 250,000 miles, which is about 100,000 miles less than the top-rated Toyota Tundra. Regular annual maintenance costs are similar to other full size trucks according to data provided by Repair Pal, at $598 per year.

As a 2018 Silverado 1500 series reaches 100,000 miles owners should be prepared to replace the PCV valve for $100, A/C drier assembly costing $600, as well as the stabilizer bar links which cost $200.

accountCircle tim c

The 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 lt is very reliable. As of now I have not noticed any problems with the truck, however with the factory rim size I noticed that the car start to veer and lift I believe that the rims are too small for trucks.

accountCircle Scott B

I have a 1999 Silverado with two hundred thousand miles on it. A little rusty but it runs great. I hope I have the same luck with this one.

accountCircle jo s

It is very reliable in every way you can imagine. Since the purchase of this vehicle I have not have any issues or problems with this vehicle. It operates smoothly.

We recommend the Ford F-150 since it’s a bit cheaper to own long term, although both are very good trucks.

The Ram 1500 is a competitor, which is available for $2,000 less. I DO NOT THINK THE ARTICLE ON THIS TRUCK IS ACCURATE
This 2018 Silverado has issues with the transmission that gows way beyone "minor repairs". It cost me $5,400.00 to replace the transmission 1week after I bought it. NOT WORTH THE MONEY AT ALL. I would NEVER recomend this truck to anyonefor any reason. The replacement FOB can't be programed for some reason. The gaas mileage drops to about 9mpg on many of them for no apparent reason. No one knows how to fix it so its stuck at only 9mpg with a little over 100k. Miles. Thats going to make it even more expensive to get to 250,000 miles which is an inflated estimate on the longevity of this heap...

My 2018 1500 Silverado has 105,000 and the transmission needs to be replaced. I only pulled a light motorcycle trailer twice with it. I baby the truck. 8,100 for a new transmission. Of course the warranty expired at 100,000

I love the new technology!
I have only ever owned Chevy trucks so I obviously love it. I feel safe and comfortable in my truck. I really love the updated technology features in my truck. My favorite one has to be the ability to stream the playlist from my phone to the speakers in my truck. The cab is also bigger on the newer model and I really like the extra room, especially since my kids are getting bigger. I also like how I can check the oil life that I have remaining until my next oil change.

Chevy Silverado 1500 double cab.
Great dependable truck. Looks great, rides smooth. A little more leg room and padding in the back seats would be nice. As well as more plug-ins for electronics. We have a topper on the back for transporting items and the family dog. A rear window that opens would be useful.

Driver's side door bolt keeps loosening. Other than that I have had no problems with this pickup truck. It is comfortable, and reliable. Our perfect family vehicle.
My husband and I recently purchased our new truck due to our first child arriving earlier this year. We wanted a more reliable vehicle for our family. We needed something that would last us for the years to come not only as our primary family vehicle, but also for all our other needs as well. We like to camp, so pulling a trailer was a necessity, along with our many trips to the hardware store for our continuous home renovations and house/lawn maintenance chores. We could not be happier with the performance, practicality and comfort this vehicle has provided us.

I love the power and performance that it gives. About the only thing I do not like about it is the gas mileage. But, you cannot have both. I love the big captains chairs, and there is lots of room to move around in. The stereo system is good, and the truck bed is very large.

My truck is perfect for traveling is why we choose it.
My Chevy truck is very reliable. My truck is Spanish, easy to maneuver, not a gas guzzler and it has great gas mileage. The bed size is great for hauling and use of reclining and is easy to climb in and out of. Not a lot of maintenance. It has space for storing. Not to mention all the added features such as charging and connecting devices. Convenient features on steering wheel and on dashboard. Most of all convenient for traveling.

Minor issues with interior features.
Overall, I have had very little issues with this truck. I have a back seat center seat belt that the plastic cover will not stay on. It pops off each time I raise the seat to access the storage under. I also had an issue with the inside rear view mirror that became loose and it wasn't easily identifiable how to correct the issue. Those are my primary complaints.

Chevy Silverado is a great truck.
The only problem I have with this truck is how big it is. I am not used to driving large trucks so it will come with time. The performance is very nice. The back up camera is very convenient and makes backing up easy. The hands free Bluetooth is very helpful.

Love the truck but!!!
I Have had 4 Silverado's the most recent is a 2018 and they are great trucks BUT!!! Every one of them has tail light issues. Water and crud gets into the directional light sockets and corrodes the contacts. If you are lucky you just have to replace the bulbs every month or so but sometimes you have to change the entire wiring harness. When will GM do something about this?

I love my Silverado. Only problem I had was the ac converter going bad but got fixed for free under my warranty. I live where there’s a lot of snow and have yet to get stuck. Great work truck - basic but comfortable.
My boyfriend recently bought a 2018 Chevy Silverado. It is a basic work truck, but the interior is very roomy and comfortable. There's also lots of compartments for your keys, wallet, phone, etc. And the center console folds up to make room for an additional person. Its 8 foot bed allows him to transport large appliances, furniture, drywall etc. And has spare room for a truck bed toolbox. Overall we are very pleased with our new Silverado!

I am absolutely in love with my 2018 Chevy Silverado Texas edition. I love walking out to it every day and the sheer sound of the engine firing puts me in a good mood. The trim is also very nice. Although I wish I had opted for the ltz with bucket seats, the lt trim allows for a folding center console if I ever need it. Finally, the black Chevy bowtie on the grill and tailgate are bad to the bone.

This is by far my favorite vehicle I have ever owned from looks to performance there simply is not one better.

Good on gas rommie for the family.
I runs great no problems. I love the look and all the room I can fit my whole family with comfort. It's really good on gas.

It is very dependable and has only required scheduled maintenance.
I love the look, styling and features of my ltz truck. I compared vehicles for months and chose this truck due to the combination of its looks and user interface. My only complaint is that the motor is not as strong as I wish it was.

Lots of room for my family, friends and my pets and lots of space to haul just about everything!
My Chevy Silverado will haul anything I need to haul! Has enough Room to haul me, my dog,my riding lawn mower and a lot more with no problems.

Chevy Silverado 2018 review.
I drive a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and it is amazing. It drives insanely smooth, you don't even feel the road, the interior is a little cluttered with a bunch of buttons but you easily get used to it in time. Overall amazing truck I love it. I strongly recommend buying one.

Excellent truck very reliable was the best purchase I ever made.
Before I bought my Chevy truck I test drove the ford and tundra trucks and the Chevy truck was the most comfortable and it drives like a Cadillac. When towing anything I push the tow button and it goes from an 8 cylinder to a 4 cylinder with the same power just using less gas.

Remote start, heated seats, great service and it looks and rides great.
Great horse power, heated seats, good gas mileage, good looking and we have had great service from the dealer. I would say it is the second best auto I have ever owned. I also have a 2005 that has 300,000 miles on it and it is the best auto I have ever owned.

The truck rides very smooth. The backup cam is great and makes parking the truck possible. The only downside is the MPG, which is to be expected with a truck.
I have small children and their safety is always the most important thing to me. I feel safe when I am in this truck. The additional OnStar features that can create alerts when there is an accident increase the feeling of safety.

22 inch chrome rims, flashy truck with good handling.
The truck itself runs well. I never had any trouble with. There are some cosmetic issues but that was 100% my fault and not any fault of the vehicle. It is flashy and looks cool. I enjoy how it handles. It pulls smaller to medium sized trailers/boats/campers without any issue.

Bigger Car Bigger Space Bigger Kid Smiles
I love how comfortable the car is. I have 2 kids and I used to drive a Prius but both of my kids are in car seats so that made the car feel very tight. Now with all the space in the truck my son, sitting in a booster seat, has enough leg space, and we can actually fit someone else in the back seat with them. I also love feeling safer that god forbid anything happens but if it does were in a bigger car so an accident would feel less impact.

It's a beautiful reliable rugged beast that I love.
Great hauler. Comfortable ride. Beautiful truck. Reliable.

Good hauler and puller that rides great.
My 2018 Chevy Silverado double cab lt zl1 is a good hauler and transportation vehicle. I love the color and the sheen. It pulls a great amount of load and hauls a lot. I added a tonneau cover and spray in bed liner. Oh, and got weathertech floor mats and mud flaps. I like the look of the 2018 Silverado.

This truck is a great multi tool. Family truck and work truck.
Engine and transmission operates smoothly. Even for a heavy weight truck it accelerates very well. Steering and handling is responsive. I have had a few electrical problems as far as some of the buttons not lighting up due to loose connections but it was an easy fix.

Dependable Silverado 1500.
The 4 door crew cab Silverado 1500 custom is by far the best truck I have owned. It is spacious, the interior/ features it offers are nice. It was no problem towing a trailer. The backup camera is very clear which makes it easy to park at night time in crowded areas.

Chevy Silverado the go to work truck.
It has led headlights, an amazing Aerial view backup camera, small steps built in the back bumper. Led Bluetooth touch screen radio. Comes with the tow package. A new bonus I recently learned was the hill assist mechanism. It can comfortably fit 6 if needed. If ever I were to have an oil leak the motor has a failsafe system so it will not allow me to start the truck with oil and if the oil’s to low it’ll shut it off.

The 25 mpg. When I take trips.
I like the liftgate that comes down slowly. Also I enjoy the quiet ride and the Wi-Fi option. I love the gas mileage on the trips at about 25 mpg. I also like the 110 volt outlet. I like the 6ft 6 in bed but it came with less legroom for the rear seat.

Nice comfortable 4 wheel drive truck.
The vehicle itself is nice. There is just a couple of things that can be changed. The four wheel drive knob is in the wrong place, it should be moved and changed to something else. Also there should be an icon on the info display to tell you that you are in 4 wheel drive.

Super Chevy Silverado 1500.
My Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is an amazing vehicle that I purchased for a great price. The truck is a very comfortable ride that has all the features that I needed and wanted in a vehicle. I plan on keeping this truck for eight to ten years or until it gets to around 200,000 miles. I know it will last because I have had great experiences with Chevrolet on previous vehicles and I maintenance my vehicles regularly (every 5,000 miles). I love this Chevrolet Silverado 1500.

The seats in the back flip up so you put stuff there.
I do not have many issues with my 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Lots of room. Very spacious compared to any pickup truck I have ever had. Love it a lot, would buy another one at some point when it gets old. Really good, love it so much and would recommend to others.

2018 Chevy Silverado is a great vehicle.
Great vehicle. Comfortable seats in front and back. I wish this did have adjustable foot pedals however. The seats in the back are great for car seats and booster seats. It is a really smooth ride. The electronic displays for the radio is a great size. It is really helpful when using the directions feature.

Chevy Silverado still breaking her in.
Paint peeling in truck bed after 1 year, gets good mileage and can tow just about anything. Higher than a ford wife has hard time getting in.. Would like if the rear window opened but all and all can't complain. Drives great and has plenty of pick up.

Buy a Chevrolet Silverado.
Love the power of the v-8 and the full eight foot truck bed comes in real handy the back up camera makes it very easy to back up a trailer because you can see it right in front of you the heat and ac unit is the same as user in larger cabs so it arrives at the proper temperature in a very short time.
accountCircle John R on February 14, 2021
Very good truck and anyone would be happy to own one.
Well it could get better gas mileage even though it shuts down from 8 to four cylinders. The ride is better than any pickup I have ever ridden it. Quality workmanship throughout the truck. The red color is very eye-catching going down the rode. The best part of the truck is the features.
accountCircle Emma V on February 13, 2021
The rearview camera and a 7-inch touchscreen are now standard on the Silverado.
This vehicle is automatic, super spacious, great for towing, hauling and excellent performance. I've had my Silverado for about 6 months now and it's been the best vehicle I have owned. I haven't had any problems with it. I love when we go camping, fishing or tubing, we are able to pack & haul everything that we need plus more! I would definitely recommend to anyone in need of a truck!
