Family friendly and very roomy.
The dash is cracking but other than that I love it. It has never been in the shop. I have only had to replace the brakes on it once. It has good wear on the tires due to the alignment. It has lots of room and cargo space. It does not get the best gas mileage.

Best workhorse, family year round vehicle out there.
It is a very smooth ride and is 4 wheel drive. Love that the seats are comfortable for long road trips. The back is very large for transporting just about anything a pickup truck could carry. Has great entertainment system for kids in the back seat without driver/ front passenger having to hear too.

Great car for hauling people and stuff!
The storage in the suburban is really huge even with 8 people in the car. The third row seats are not comfortable for adults but great for kids just not kids in carseats.

The onstar feature can help if I were to get in an accident.
Love my 4x4 Suburban, the performance is great. Digital gage board lets me know when I need an oil change by percentage, when my tire pressure is low or if one of my doors is open. It has a backup sensor, onstar and sirius built in. I cant connect my digital phone to hear my playlist, make calls and plays DVD. The Wifi earphones can let me children hear their movie while I can hear my music. Lots of space inside.

This vehicle is easy to maintain and parts are readily available.
The brand Chevrolet is my favorite and is the only brand I have gone back to after trying many others. The Suburban is large enough for projects and you can see what is happening in the traffic patterns around you. The repairs and parts are easier than other cars. The 4 wheel drive comes in handy in bad weather.

Built in DVD player, touch screen/Sirius XM.
We love all the room our suburban has. Having a growing family and 2 dogs, it is been an incredible fit for our family. Additionally, the built in DVD player has been amazing for traveling with our little one. We cannot recommend our suburban enough to anyone looking to upgrade to a SUV.

Awesome vehicle in every way.
I have never had any major problems with my 2013 Chevrolet suburban lt. It has been very reliable, and not bad on gas. Definitely enough space for a growing family of seven persons, with a comfortable enough ride to be happy on a road trip. I currently have one hundred and fifty thousand miles and I believe it's going to go another two hundred thousand before it needs to be replaced. Overall it's the most reliable vehicle I own.

Smooth ride. My family and I love this vehicle.
My family and I love this vehicle. Two seats in the middle fold completely up and makes it easy to clean and easy for passengers getting in the back. Smooth ride. Not real good on around town gas mileage.

So far, no issues—but leaves me feeling they are around the corner.
We got the upgraded suburban with all the bells and whistles, which actually makes me nervous for when things need to start getting fixed. Luckily, that hasn't happened yet. I don't use a lot of the features such as navigation and such. There is more cargo room than a lot of other SUVs we looked at but that means the third row seats are very cramped. Luckily, my kids are still small enough it isn't too big of a deal. The vehicle doesn't feel solid to me, and I don't know why. I feel like at any given time, something is about to go wrong. Just a feeling, but one I never had with my Toyotas.

Does not feel sturdy or quality.
It does not feel like a sturdy vehicle to me. The interior and trim details do not feel sturdy or high quality. Things like console cracks, knobs falling off, arm stitching coming undone, rubber seal around the door coming off, etc. All things that I know will happen as it ages but just seems like I have had other vehicle makes that have been older with less of these issues. There are also some engine type quirks that drive me crazy and make me feel like it is quickly approaching death: I sometimes have to really give it a lot of gas pedal to get it going or sometimes feel a surge of acceleration after pressing the pedal down. Our vehicle is regularly serviced and inspected and supposedly has no problems, but its quirks make me nervous.

Honest truth on your suburban.
I love the size of the vehicle it's great for lake trips and outdoor activities. But on the door side the gas mileage is horrible once it drops below full and the stereo system is sub par. The kids get a kick out of the TV and definitely helps keeps them occupied on road trips.

Not as reliable as the Suburban I owned before
It's been ok but I hate the fact that it costs me a lot of money and wastes my time to fix simple things like headlights where I once was able to fix it myself at home. And it has not been as reliable as my previous Suburban has. I have had to get work done on it quite often. Also, the interior is a little cheaply made compared to my previous Suburban. I'm somewhat disappointed. And I'm not sure if I will purchase another Suburban when the time comes.

A good car that got bad toward the end
We had a white Suburban LT that we got 1 year old used in 2014. I loved it when I first bought it, but it slowly got worse. I liked all the cargo space but disliked the fact that the 3rd row seats didn’t fold into the floor. The car had horrible acceleration despite the huge V8 which took a lot of gas. The kids liked the DVD player which was good for long trips. The leather seats were comfortable, but the fake wood trim was hideous. Car was hard to drive and park. Eventually there started to be rattles everywhere. Super annoying. Around 100k miles, there started to be tons of problems. Brakes had to be replaced multiple times, but they still made this awful squeaking noise. Headlights constantly went out. Driver door panel broke and had to be replaced. Fuel system had to be repaired. It was a nightmare. Eventually I was fed up with the all problems and traded it earlier this year. Oh, and good luck fitting it into your garage.

The pros and cons of the suburban.
I love the size of my suburban for the convenience of how many people it seats and how much cargo I can fit in it. I do not find it easy to drive. It feels as though it is always carrying a heavy load. The suburban is expensive to drive because of the low gas mileage.

It is a decent car to buy used.
My car runs like normal car and is a 4 wheel drive with decent horsepower and fuel economy. It can carry lots of people and is very big making it sometimes hard to park. I would say it is a decent car though but does not hold its resale value. It also has powertrain grade braking.

Very comfortable and reliable, handles great in a snowstorm and I actually prefer it to a pickup. The gas mileage could be better, especially in city. But overall, a very pleasant vehicle.
I like to keep it clean and carpool often to try and offset the mileage issue.

Overall good reliable vehicle. Some minor issues.
So far this vehicle has been reliable. Love the black leather interior. Has alright gas mileage. Like having the sensors for backing up. Lets you know when you are close to an object. Have been having issues with the tire sensors. And the struts. Also the tail light electrical has given us some trouble. Had to rewire it.

Family friendly large SUV.
The suburban is a great size for our family of five. It is been perfect for road trips and traveling. The seating area is roomy and comfortable for our kids and pets to spread out and the back has the room we need to hold all our luggage and gear. We love the heated seats in the front and middle rows. Unfortunately it has it is drawbacks, the engine has had to be rebuilt and it burns a lot of oil.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Tom W.

Sturdy, well handling, smooth ride, nice trim. Seats are comfortable in the leather trim. Room enough for the family of 7 and our daily junk. Oh yeah, gas mileage is very commendable for a vehicle of this size. I may get another one.

likeFilled Caleb G.

It has a good suspension that provides a smooth ride, produces little noise, has two in-car screens for movie entertainment, lots of trunk space, a rear-view camera, decent fuel efficiency for a sports utility vehicle, and impressive reliability.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Tom W.

This vehicle has issues with the electrical Circuit at the lights. The daytime running lights only one at a time. And the back tail light does not know what it wants to be. Bulbs keep blowing shortly after being replaced. I have seen several other suburbans with the same lite issues.

dislikeFilled Caleb G.

The main cons are its large size (making it more difficult to park), its lack of space in the back row (it is uncomfortable for any adult to sit in), and the handles have a peculiar tendency to break if you are pulling them while locking the car.
