It is a very comfortable ride and very dependable.
I have had my car "Bessie Lou" for 13 years and I have never had a better car. She and I have traveled many miles and many roads and she is always dependable, comfortable and reliable.
accountCircle Frank e
I would say that it is a great car for the family, and it does not drink much gas.
I think it was the last year they made them, anyway they are great on gas, they are pretty quick for speed wise, and very reliable, hardly had any trouble with it except the paint on body rusts pretty quick.
accountCircle Shellie J
It needs new rotors and brakes. It will also need a new windshield cause The previous owner busted it out
I just bought the van. I love the fact that is has plenty of room for car seat and the tall people in my family

Fun to drive and great on gas
The engine is difficult to work on (accessing the plugs and air filter are a nightmare) however this V6 punches hard, handles great and provides a smooth and super comfy ride. I took the 3 bucket seats out made a huge difference in fuel economy! 1000+km to a tank :)

It is great on gas mileage.
I like the space in the cargo part. I like the good gas mileage it gets, I like the easy driving and the comfortable seats and ride on long trips. I like the style and I like the overall size.

Nice family vehicle. Easy to get in and go.
No major issues other then normal wear and tear from being drove around. Have had to replace the exhaust line, brakes, rotors, air filter, oil change. Also have to replace the suspension, spark plugs and wires, thermostat and sway bar assembly. Have the normal wear on the power windows. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. Might have to replace the switches. Also have a power sliding side door. Which is really nice with kids. Makes getting in and out a lot easier as it also has the safety feature so it wont open if the car isn't in park. And it wont close if there is anything in the doorway.
accountCircle Linda E
It is the deluxe model with power windows and doors. I am very short and the power seat moves great for me to see out. Also the back seats can be removed completely.
It has a built in air hose for filling your tires!
accountCircle Linda H
The good gas mileage. They should know it is a very dependable vehicle.
I like the good gas mileage. The easy handling. The open space. The wide windshield to aide in better vision.

Too many repairs. Brake lines, fuel lines need replaced. Door locks dont work. Rusting very bad. Like the low mileage.

It's a ok family van if you don't travel much
The van is very space age. Can sit 7 people. It's a smooth drive but is a gas hog. The thermostat goes out easily and often. The driver seat is electric and goes up and down. You can lay down the last role of seats for more storage in the back which the back is already space age.

Chevy venture pros and cons
The Chevy venture is very comfortable, has plenty of space and is dependable. The downside is the battery is in the worst spot. You have to take a part off just to remove the battery. It also has a lot of electrical issues. The power windows go out, periodically it will have issues cranking for no obvious reasons and the little DVD player shorts out.

Seats fold down for more cargo space.
No room to put anything in the cargo area. Drives ok. Very hard on braking system. Needs better armrest. There needs to be more windows that open up other then the drivers and passenger. White is a bad color for these vans. Kids like the van they just miss the TV's in the van. The van I bought was just basics.

My 2005 Chevy venture for you.
Vehicle has plenty of room for all the kids and plus extra room for storage. Windshield is huge so it's extremely easy to see there it. Doesn't not go up hills very well but could be from being so old. I really like the van but could use a newer gen van. The heat is amazing I turn it on and not even 3 mins later it's nice and toasty in there.

Mom van used for hauling kids and groceries in comfort and not crowded. Plenty of legroom
Like the stability of the van. It is very reliable. But the bottom rockers rust out. Other than that fine.

It has to keep working well, as we do not have money for a replacement!
It is good transportation, roomy, easy for my husband to get in (he had a stroke). Ride on, ac and heater works great. Due to the size of the inside take time to warm up in the winter. It has over 177, 000 miles on it. I feel it is doing very well for it is age and number of miles it has on it.

It's a simple car that gets you to your destination. It has been a good car for us.
I love the space in the minivan. It seats 7 people comfortably, has built in car seat, and removable seats for cargo. Gas mileage was not too bad.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Elsa C.

It has seating for 7. It has bench seating with leather interior, it has rack n pinion steering, power brakes, and a navigation system with a drop down television and touchscreen radio. It also has great gas mileage, with a sunroof and tinted window front and rear.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Elsa C.

It's more of a soccer mom vehicle, it has rust and it's over 10 years old, it needs tires, a ball joint, and brake rotors. It's not an everyday vehicle. One of the airbags is inoperable, along with the fact that it needs a switch to operate the rear power windows the automatic door in inoperable as well.

Yes it's a great reliable vehicle. The cost to fill up the gas tank is quite a bit but I would still highly recommend this van.
tammy h.
Yes. Its big and convertible with more than enough space for the entire family. It has room for everything you need. You can bring your animals and all their accessories
Sarah D.

How Reliable Is The 2005 Chevrolet Venture?

It's very reliable,I haven't had any mechanical issues. The sunroof gives it a good look..As well as the sports rear bumper.
Eric C.
Not really everything seems to work pretty well it just cost a lot to fill the gas tank. Other than that there are no issues with this vehicle.
tammy h.
Well its old and rusty and the air conditioning doesn't work. But it still gets me from point a to point b
Destiny L.

Is The 2005 Chevrolet Venture A Good Value?

I bought it used for $2500. That was a very good price being that the vehicle itself had only 90,000 miles on it.

I think it's a good value of course it would be great if it cost less but it is a great value if this is what you need.
tammy h.
I don't remember how much it cost but it has lasted me so I'm going to say that it is a good value for the money yes
