2008 Dodge Grand Caravan Owner Reviews & Problems
Reviews For Dodge Grand Caravan
After 10 years, some electrical issues, but engine works great.
I feel it is comfortable to sit in, enjoy the seat warmers, the dual ac/heat regulators and our manufactured television has been great for the kids to watch movies on long trips. Our vehicle is hitting 10 years old and we have had some electrical issues. A wire broke to open the left side automatic door, but it could still be manually opened. We had it repaired. The automatic hinge for the back hatch door had also broken from wear and was re-welded and broke again, but still can be manually opened and closed. It has never left me stranded and it gets regular engine upgrades, oil changes, tires changes and tune-ups.
Family friendly reliable minivan.
I love the stow away seats, this allows me to have plenty of room for hauling large items like a sheet of plywood, bikes and lots of boxes that saves me from renting a truck. Two features on this model I am not happy with is the middle windows do not go down for the people in the back to get air, and there are no air conditioning/heat vents so you have to rely on the front vents to cool or heat vehicle. Over all this is a very good vehicle for a family plenty of room and so far reliable, I have 120, 000 miles on it and still going.
The grand caravan is a live, work and play dream come true.
My grand caravan has the stow and go seat option which is great. I am a weekend musician and I can move a lot of equipment in it. I bought the van used and have had very little problems with it over the last 3 years. The automatic sliding doors are a bit hit or miss, but it is not a major concern. It is reliable, comfortable, and easy to drive for a fairly large vehicle. Gas mileage is acceptable. Great sounding stereo and very comfortable seats.
Dodge grand caravan: plenty of convenience, power, and ease of handling.
The Dodge grand caravan has been an excellent vehicle for someone who must drive frequently for work. The passenger area is roomy, though the third row seats are a little cramped. The stow and go seats are great when you need to haul cargo, and are easy to operate. The van handles well. I have driven in many different terrains from mountains to desert without any problems. The v-6 engine gives it plenty of power without using too much gas.
Drives well, but eats through brakes.
My favorite thing about this vehicle is that it handles really well. It does not feel like driving a van. I also like the fold-flat third-row seating; I have helped friends move with this van when a truck wasn't available. It can carry a lot. Unfortunately maintenance can get really expensive. The brakes are too small for the amount of vehicle, so I have to get a whole new set of brakes about once a year, which is incredibly pricey.
Spacious, comfortable, side and rear windows open which is great.
I love our van. It has been reliable, it is comfortable for the whole family. The seats fold into the floor which is great! I was able to fit a whole couch in my van! There is a place to charge phones or hand held games near the rear seats. That comes in handy for the kids, especially on long drives. There is plenty of room in the very back for bringing groceries home. The middle seats recline and the headrests are adjustable.
I think other should know that my Dodge caravan is very dependable.
The Dodge caravan takes up and uses to much gas per week. Another issue would be the radio/time display, I'm not a fan of the design and the overall design scheme. The say goes for the heating/cooling system design scheme. There is not an option to totally disable the system, so there is always wind blowing a all times. Despite all this the Dodge caravan is a very comfortable car to both drive as well as be a passenger in.
This van is a safe and comfortable vehicle. It performs really well and I feel very good about driving it.
We bought this vehicle from Garber Auto in Green Cove Springs, FL, and we use this dealership for maintenance, as well. We also bought my husband's 2018 from there. I love the features included in my van: heated seats, bluetooth enabled, satellite radio, etc. It also has the stow and go feature. The vehicle performs really well. I've driven many vans in my life, but I must say that this one is the best, by far.
My experience with my Dodge minivan.
I bought this vehicle used a couple of years ago. It had close to 180, 000 miles on it. Since then we've put about another 40, 000 miles on it ourselves. I have yet to have any problems with it. We maintain the oil changes on the regular as well as the air filter. Occasionally, we'll put fuel additives, but other then that, it has been maintenance free. It is been a smooth ride since we got it!
It had leather and heated seats both in the front and middle seats.
It has a lot of computer problems. It is in the shop for maintenance all the time. The tire pressure light and the check engine light is always on. It had to get an emissions exemption sticker when it got inspected this past time. I do not think that I would purchase this vehicle again even though I did like all the bells and whistles it had and it was very comfortable to drive.
