Long lasting American made no major repairs in 18 years
We have had this truck for 18 years , never had to put any major work into the engine runs great still , body rots quickly and gas is only 12 miles per gallon

Amazing truck with room for 3 car seats that gets up and goes every time!
We love this truck! We have flex sealed the exterior and interior. Put new wheels and Tires Plus light bars on the front. It's an old truck with 230,000 miles on it and will still start up and go every single time. Because it's old and has so many miles it's time for an engine rebuild but other than that this truck is a champ! It's 2 doors and we have 3 children with the oldest being 3. Yes it is kind of a pain lifting them over the seats to put them in their seats but even the kids love this truck.

Amazing Dodge with almost 235, 000 mi.
I absolutely love our old Dodge! Its a 2000 Dodge RAM 1500 with almost 235, 000! Everyday and every mile added astounds me if it were a diesel it would be barely broken in, but for a gasser it's amazing! That is why I love doge with regular maintenance an some part replacements like ball joints tie rods brakes rotors etc.. They will just keep going and going! I know that truck will start up every day and get me to wear I need to be, and will continue doing so for many more miles.

Understand automatic transmission
I bought used 2000 dodge ram 1500 with 5.9 engine in 2019 and had transmission troubles and learned that almost all people have transmission trouble and some even get them professionally rebuilt and still at some point have transmission troubles again .. Mine shifted down out of high gear going down the road and sometimes seamed like did want to shift to next upper gear .. I was determined and found there are switches on rear end and front end as well as inside transmission.. I replaced 3 switches in trans by dropping trans pan first , ( still no change ) then idle control switch ,and still no change and when I replaced map sensor it been shifting fine now and thatbeing a year later.. I decided dodge has alot of switches that feed your computer even to the extent it shift at a certain speed.. Keep reading in dodge ram forum and change switches and 98 % of the time you will finally change the right switch and you find it will then shift like it should once you hit the right switch that feeds information to the computer it will shift like it should.. I think dodge linked a lot of switches that control your transmission in to the computer on dodge ram trucks , so you have to bring it back to dealership.. I bet they charger slot of people for a transmission rebuild that wasn't needed.. Best I can tell you if you trans filter is clean and your fluid is not brown , or smell burnt then it will be a switch giving you the trouble with shifting. . I was about to get rid of my truck because of shifting problems , but I was determined and kept changing e very switch related to shifting and I found it and it shifts fine ever since..

Lower consume of gas it's like to dont need to change
It's the best vehicle to land a ride it's operative to go home to go work and land my kids to school.

That is is very safe and sturdy. It doesn't look very nice, but it has never left me stranded.
Very little mechanical problems with it until the mileage started getting really high, but then we had to replace several things at once.

She's a beast! She will get you out of the deepest rut in a dirt road but gentle enough to carry a baby
It is a single cab truck. I love the size of it (or height I suppose). However after growing a family it isn't practical anymore

I love my Dodge Ram truck
My truck has been pretty reliable over the years, I have not been gentle with it. I have used it for hauling, towing, farm use, construction use and personal.

The most important thing about my car is that it only fits two or three people

Best vehicle I've ever owned
Best vehicles I've ever owned reliable engines tough and strong. Body style is sleek and appealing. Functionality of inside the cab and under the hood are great. Easy to have a bunch of people for traveling. Strong enough for leisure drive or off-road driving

Bad transmission in these vehicles.
Expensive repairs, nice driving truck, not so great gas mileage, comfortable ride, great for hauling stuff.

Rams rule, great truck, great power, great room, good comfort.
My 1500 is the most reliable vehicle I have at this time. Mechanicals it is as sound as you can get and for comfort the driver's seat is great on long trips. Gas wise it is an expected mileage of a truck so you f you want great mileage buy an electric car!
accountCircle Gustavo L on October 9, 2020
It is useful, not fast, uses up a lot of gas.
It is very useful. The mpg is terrible. You can haul loads of things in it, very good when my family wants to go camping. It is not a good family car though, very big and hard to drive.

Durable and dependable Dodge.
I bought my truck used. It had 135, 000 miles (actual). She had a small oil leak. That 5. 9 magnum engine lasted for 6 years under my ownership. The original engine lasted for 14 years with very minimal work. I replaced the engine with a used one and it has lasted 16 years, including original truck and mine. I would rate Dodge as having one of the best built engines on the market today.
accountCircle Kayla J on August 28, 2020
It was a straight pipe truck
I had to junk it today due to a punctured radiator and shattered caliber. Other than that the truck was fine but I couldn't drive it home from where I was at. I was in an accident yesterday. I rear-ended someone due to them slamming on their breaks because they didn't want to get a red light ticket. The truck was fine until this happened.

Nothing real interesting about my truck a normal ram 1500
I love my truck it's the best it runs really well like it should there are some little problems like needing breaks oil change nothing to magre wrong with it. I would say dodge trucks are the best out of all trucks they never break down and can pull about anything in everything you want to and fun to go out mudding in.

Dodge RAM 1500 review. Spacious and comfortable.
I like the power it has, it is spacious and comfortable. I like that we can haul quite a bit in the bed and it pulls really well. I don't like that you can hear the road noise. I don't like that it doesn't have many options and some of the things like cup holders and the cubby under the air conditioner controls are in the way if you have cups in the cup holder.
accountCircle Lee N on July 7, 2020

Runs smooth. Needs tons of work.
When bought the truck's dashboard was cracked. The gauges didn't work. We were told there was nothing wrong with it. Were sent pictures and it seemed it was fine. The pictures were old pictures. We do not drive it as much because it is a regular cab and we have a baby. It needs a lot of work done to it.

Good old comfortable truck still going in 2018. Dodge trucks are reliable !
I love it, except that I need a 3:4 ton truck. That is the problem, it cannot pull my 5th wheel which complicates everything. It has a cab which my 3 dogs comfortably ride, although I wish the back window could be opened. It is comfortable. I feel safe being in a Dodge RAM.

Decent and long - lasting.
The main selling point is its reliability. In comparison to our other vehicles, it has had far fewer problems. On the other hand, it makes slightly wider turns, and it is easy for long hair to get stuck in the seat belt. The biggest problem is the ac, which only works in short bursts before fading out.

Our Dodge RAM 1500. A truck that drives like a plush large SUV.
Our Dodge 1500 ram pickup is an extended cab which give us loads of space inside, as well as the highly useful bed of our truck. The draw back of this great truck is only one and that would be the consumption of gas but other than that it drives and handles like a large SUV. We chose this truck because not only the spacious cab and bed, it is dependable ( knowledge due to owning one before it, which we regretted selling). It handles our towing demands our hauling demands and looks great and handles great going down town or out on highway or way out in the country. We would recommend every busy consumer out there that needs the space, as well as the ability to haul tow push and pull. And wants a comfortable plush ride while doing so needs to own a Dodge RAM 1500. Its like owning a fancy car with the power and might of a great truck.
accountCircle Kimberly W on March 21, 2020
It is just a work truck nothing fancy.
It is a work truck. It is been reliable for most part and comfy with the leather seats. The parts are a bit expensive if something tears up. It is kind of wobbles in the road back in forth with the steering. It is a heavy vehicle j do not like that.
accountCircle Tyler C on March 2, 2020
A few negative qualities, but good overall.
Pros: has had the least problems of all the vehicles we've owned; it's been the most reliable and durable. Cons: the ac has never been functional for more than a few months. If you have long hair, it will get caught in the seat belt. Does not have much in the way of legroom.

It is worth giving a try.
It eats gas but does well in snow for rear wheel drive, heater is hot, does the job if you maintenance it on a normal basis, had replaced only air filters, oil, spark plugs and wired, oil of course every 2500 miles. Like I said it does like gas, but gets the job done, bed is enough size to haul a lot.

The highs and lows of mid 90's Dodge trucks.
Truck lasted fifteen years of hard work and still ran. The seats were comfortable, but the body rusted out pretty early. It did have issues with the brake lines rotting out, but that was after almost sixteen years of common wear and tear. The truck ran smooth, but had issues in any other weather besides sun and warmth.
accountCircle Lisa H on April 30, 2019
It's a truck and can transport a lot of other things that can't be transported with a car.
Now that it's getting older a lot of things are starting to go wrong with it and it's costing a lot to keep it running. I had a 2015 Malibu but someone t boned me on 7/11/18 and I just haven't bought a different car yet.

accountCircle Lo K on February 5, 2019
Just talking about RAM trucks!
The vehicle is very powerful. Has a lot of torque and yet it drinks a lot of gas. Since it is an older vehicle it actually burns a lot of oil. I do love the v-8 motor but would prefer the v6 to save more gas. I have been looking at the new RAM trucks lately. I intend on test driving one to get the overall feel and look of it.

2000 Dodge ram 1500 extended cab 4x4 with 297,000 miles
Routine oil change along with changing spark plugs, plug wires, and air filters help prolong engine life. Doing this helps keep your vehicle reliable for years. The comfort of the 2000 dodge ram 1500 extended cab 4x4 is great on trips up to 5 hours of driving. This 2000 dodge is the slt edition and is a 5 speed manual transmission. Features include heated mirrors which is really great in the winter months. Electric windows and door locks malfunction and need repairs. The plastic dashboard is a downfall, it cracks and breaks and makes an annoying rattle. The power train and 4 wheel drive in this truck is really exceptional. The 5.2l v8 has power you need but is hard on the gas driving in cities or around town, little better on the highway but still really poor. The body is stylish and holds up against rust fairly well. I bought this truck used with 290,000 miles on it and would definitely buy a new one of the same make and specs.

Solid, Reliable Truck
I bought my 2000 Ram 1500 in 2002, with 24 thousand miles. It has the V6 engine, which pulls strong enough to suit me. I get about 17-18 mpg in mixed driving and 19 mpg on highway. Sixteen years later I still own the truck. I only drive it when I need to do work or hauling — currently has just 104,000 miles. I have had very few repairs other than routine maintenance. Had to replace the fuel rail for injectors about 5 years ago, and replaced a leaking brake line 2 years ago. One other repair that was not costly. Has original suspension and rides fine, even after my having over-loaded the truck a few times with gravel. Rust has been the biggest problem, especially above wheel wells front and rear. And paint is very shiny until the plastic-like coating comes off and leaves it looking like primer, on hood and roof of cab. I hope to get over 150,000 miles or whatever it will go until major problems. Truck has been so good that my brother-in-law bought a new Ram truck after only having Fords and Chevy trucks. V6 engine has always had a somewhat shaky idle, even when tuned up, but I hardly notice it. It is comfortable and does everything I want it to.

Rust, but it's very reliable, It a strong truck and has a lot of get up and go. I would get it rustproof.. The ride is good for a truck. It offers a lot of room and the sound system is good. The anti lock brakes are nice as is the 4 wheel drive. That helps out in the wintertime.

Love my dodge ram 1500. Very reliable. I pull a lot of different types of trailers and never had any issues. It pulls them easy and doesn't notice the extra weight. The only big issue I've ever had is having to replace sensors in the transmission. Other than that it's just normal maintenance. It handles very well and has a better turning radius than my Saturn vue
