What's New

Changes to Ford’s 2018 Edge crossover SUV are mostly cosmetic. A new SEL Sport Package is offered this year with blacked-out headlight bezels and Magnetic Metallic paint covering the grille, mirror caps, 10-spoke 19-inch wheels and rear spoiler. Inside, unique cloth seats with suede inserts augment Copper Sands appliques.

The Ford Edge is so comfortable. The seats are set for heat and cold. . Fit me exactly. . We have a black one, and it is beautiful. Not to big, and better than most SUVs. . The Edge is a car for people to enjoy and get all the benefits from a supercar. It pulls well going up hill, and does not jerk as some cars do. Going back down hill, is as smooth as anything you have had. . . It turns tight and smooth. I would buy another one, if I had to go out and buy another car. Ford makes a remarkable vehicle.

Ford Edge Titanium Leather-trimmed seats and ambient lighting .instantly set the Edge Titanium ($35,930) apart in this group. It also comes with the SYNC 3 infotainment system, an 8-inch touch screen that recognizes swipe and pinch gestures, enhanced smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, a 12-speaker Sony audio system, HD Radio, and two USB ports. Both front seats feature heat and 10-way power adjustments, and a hands-free liftgate is added.

The 2018 Ford Edge is a super smooth vehicle. The features that you get for the price compared to the higher-end models is unbeatable. It is sleek and powerful. This vehicle has so many standard features that the higher end models do not have such as the Ford Explorer. For example auto unlock when the key fob is in your pocket and you touch the handle. It locks the same as well. Keyless entry. Keypad. Backup camera.

Safety Recalls (3)

Power Train > Automatic Transmission > Torque Converter Jun 10, 2018
Report Receipt Date:
Jun 10, 2018
NHTSA Campaign:
18V390000
Summary:
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Ford Edge and 2017 Lincoln MKZ vehicles. On vehicles with 2.0L gas engines and six-speed automatic transmissions, the torque converter weld studs may have been inadequately welded.
Consequence:
If the torque converter weld studs fail, the torque converter will not be connected to the engine flexplate and the vehicle will lose the ability to move, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy:
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the torque converters, free of charge. The recall began on July 5, 2018. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 17S16 (S2). Note: This recall is an expansion of recall 17V-427.

NHTSA Campaign:
18V548000
Summary:
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2018 Ford Edge, Lincoln MKX, 2019 Ford Flex, and Lincoln MKT vehicles. The power supply cables at the starter and the alternator may not have been properly secured, possibly resulting in an electrical arc.
Consequence:
An electrical arc can increase the risk of a fire.
Remedy:
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the alternator and starter motor power supply cables to verify that they are properly secured, correcting them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began September 26, 2018. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 18S25.

Report Receipt Date:
Sep 10, 2018
NHTSA Campaign:
18V612000
Summary:
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2018 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX vehicles. These vehicles may have door striker bolts that are shorter than intended. Consequence:
If the doors open in the event of a crash, there is an increased risk of injury.
Remedy:
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the door striker bolts, free of charge. The recall began October 18, 2018. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 18C06.
