4dr, Silver SUV w/cruise control that is great on gas.

2005 Ford Escape XLT

Silver, 4dr SUV that I found to be a reliable daily driver. Good on gas, typically taking 20$ to fill up from 1/2 a tank. Cloth seats that stayed warm in the winter and cool in spring/summer. Has cruise control, power windows, multi-disc CD player, two 12v adaptors, and is equipped with anti-theft. The back opens up two ways - just the window and the whole door with separate handles for both. The trunk is very roomy, and even has a cover to hide anything you put back there and leave it. Unfortunately, it is not removable so if you have anything large you want to put back there, it makes it difficult to work around sometimes. Only issue I have with it is the back windshield wiper is so small that it clears off just a tiny spot that it is almost useless, and I don't like that the car alarm doesn't go off when someone pulls the handle while it is on - it apparently will only go off after it has already been broken into which I find kind of silly.

Overall, the price to maintain and fix the car is not worth it.

2005 Ford Escape XLT

There are a lot of problems with the car. It has 3 oil leaks, the drivers side mirror broke and can not be used. On top of that the lining of the car is falling apart. The fabric is peeling from the roof, the vinyl is peeling from the doors. The gas mileage is terrible. I get probably around 15-16 mpg. I have to fill up at least once a week if not twice. With the price of gas the car is just too expensive. As for the positives, the car handles pretty well. It accelerates easily and drives smoothly. The car is easy to sleeping for long trips and can transport quite a bit as well.

Roomy reliable small SUV.

2005 Ford Escape XLT

My tan 2005 ford escape is the best vehicles I have ever owned. It has 4 wheel drive and all the room of a bigger SUV but is still small enough it does not use a lot of gas. The 6 CD changer is great for long trips and the sunroof is perfect for the lovely spring days. The pm the steering wheel controls for cruise control os convenient and safer option. The downside is there is a significant rusty area under gas tank which seems to be common for year and model. The plastic on bumper and down the sides fades and cracks if you don't regularly keep oiled up.

My 2005 ford escape AWD has 200k miles on it and still runs like it is new.

2005 Ford Escape XLT

This is an all around great SUV for an individual or family. It is all-time four wheel drive which is good during the winter. It is very comfortable to drive around town, on dirt roads or on long trips. . My escape has just over 200,000 miles on it and the engine and transmission are still very strong. I trust it and will continue to drive it until I cannot anymore. . The only problem I have had with my escape is that I have to replace the wheel bearings and hub assemblies quite often.

2005 ford escape. This is a SUV and easy to drive in and out of traffic.

2005 Ford Escape XLT

I find my vehicle hard to steer because I recently broke both shoulders. I did not have a problem prior to then. I find my vehicle just the right size for me, it is comfortable and reliable. It has all the features I need such as remote control side mirror controls, fog lights, abs brakes. I use a rollator for mobility and it fits easily in the storage area behind the seats.

Compact SUV great for a small family.

2005 Ford Escape XLT

The seats are not very comfortable on long rides. It is very noisy as if a window is always open. It rides more like an off road jeep than an SUV and there is not a lot of room. Performance wise it is okay. Not much power especially up hills. It is been reliable so far for it is age. It is great if you want a small SUV that is good on gas and you do not go away often.

My favorite thing about my car would be the reliability of the 4wd.

2005 Ford Escape XLT

I absolutely love my car and would recommend it to anyone. It has done well performance wise, it is always very reliable and has never let me down. It is very comfortable and roomy. The only thing I think I would say as far as features go, is that not having a auxiliary plug in stinks but we have found ways around it. The 4 wheel drive is amazing as well.

- Elizabeth J

For all it's faults, the four wheel drive works well!

2005 Ford Escape XLT

It doesn't get good gas mileage, the road noise is loud, when it's locked, sometimes the anti-theft will go off, the seats aren't comfortable on long road trips. It is fairly reliable to go from point a to point b. Haven't had an issue with the four-wheel drive. When it goes into four wheel drive it's seamless.

Family friendly, four door SUV. Great for all kinds of trips and adventures

2005 Ford Escape XLT

I like my car because it is big enough to hold an entire group and fit all of our stuff for a road trip. It has a thing where it will kind of stutter when I press on the gas sometimes. Like it acts like it is not going to move but then it does. It is not a deal breaker, I still really enjoy driving the car.

- Rebekah B

The quality and performance is amazing.

2005 Ford Escape XLT

Have not had any problems. I bought my escape second handed in 2016. It is still going strong. I've got around 160.000 miles approximately. I never liked fords before. But when I purchased my escape everything changed. Now that's all I would choose. My next vehicles will be a ford escape.

A home on wheels no matter the weather.

2005 Ford Escape XLT

Went in the hole worth less than loan. Good but sucks 4wd is not manually turned on it is automatic like AWD. Body is decent it is durable and reliable. I worry my tranny will go but that's my fault due to lack of oil changes. I would get something more 4wd able if shopping in the future.

Cute little SUV, good MPG and lasts

2005 Ford Escape XLT

I love my car, but I bought it used so it wasn't in the best condition. It has to be manually locked and unlocked because the locks gave out. The ride is super smooth though! I love that it's a small SUV that fits 5-6 people comfortably. I recommend this car to someone for sure.

- Bren D

I love luggage carrier on top and running boards. Great vehicle.

2005 Ford Escape XLT

Very reliable good gas mileage sporty yet fits family. Very comfortable perfect height for short person. Automatic seats windows mirrors. Can lay back seats down for more space. Has sliding counselor so no one can see what is in the back. Can either open back window or full door.

Ford escape reliable SUV with great gas mileage

2005 Ford Escape XLT

This vehicle has always been reliable for me. The gas consumption is wonderful. The back seats fold down and it has a ton of storage. It has plenty of power and it's a great overall vehicle. Other than basic parts wearing out I have had no problems and the car is easy to work on.

- Rhiannon D

Comfort & economy at the right size.

2005 Ford Escape XLT

I have had no maintenance issues. It sits high as an SUV, this is good for me (I have back issues). I like the size, easy to park & turn. Seats fold down, plenty of room. Decent gas mileage (around 26 on highway). It is comfortable on long trips. It also has fog lights - bonus.

- Gerri W

The 2005 Ford Escape has a durable frame that also is very manageable in weight.

2005 Ford Escape XLT

The 2005 Ford Escape is a good, reliable vehicle. It has been running great condition since it had been purchased. The only issues that I am experiencing are the steering column makes a creaking noise when I turn the wheel. This problem only showed up with in the past month.

- Alex D

Loving my vehicle that is easy to drive, park. And travel.

2005 Ford Escape XLT

Works great. Smooth ride, comfortable, reliable. Love the rack on top. Can use there or pulled down on back at side of vehicle. Leather seats, cruise control, am FM CD holds 6 CDs, seats 5 people comfortably. Love my ford escape, cruise control, rear defog, fog lights.

- Crystal M

Reliable car, a few flaws in design though.

2005 Ford Escape XLT

There are no vents for backseat air conditioning, no auxiliary cord connection, and the back seats are slightly uncomfortable. The car itself is really reliable and I would definitely recommend it to those who do not mind the lack of luxury it sometimes shows.
