The V6, 2008 Ford Escape. A family SUV, with 22-30 mpg.

The 2008 Ford Escape, is a wonderful family SUV. It is a AWD Vehicle with the V6 transmission. It has been a reliable vehicle that cranks every time I have needed it to. My kids love it because the vehicle itself, has a lot of room in it. The way the 2008 Ford Escape is laid out, makes it a comfortable SUV for the whole family. They have so many features packed into the dash layout, with audio input, 6 disc CD changer, air conditioning, heat, and an option for locking in positive traction. On the dash, there is also a screen for the temperature outside, as well as the direction in which you are traveling. I would say the 2008 is an awesome SUV that gets 22-30 mpg and is a great everyday economical compact family SUV.

Looks aren't everything always do your homework when buying any used car.

I love the way the escape looks inside and out. However, I believe that my specific vehicle was driven hard prior to me purchasing it. The throttle cable attached to the gas pedal broke the first week after purchase. At times it seems to lose compression and does not have the get up and go that a v6 should offer. The '4 wheel drive' is confusing and is supposed to just kick in when needed. New tires are a must to get out of slick or muddy situations. Bought this vehicle because of the '4 wheel drive' but next time I'll just buy a truck.

I can escape anywhere! I love my ford escape!

My 2008 ford escape was bought used from CarMax in Raleigh NC some 120,000 miles ago. It has seen a lot of hard driving to and from work over the past nine years. It has been driven a number of times to the mountains and along our Outer Banks. I enjoy driving my escape because it fits me and comfortable. The sunroof and heated seats are handy for their respective seasons. I have sworn to myself that I will continue driving this vehicle until the wheels fall off. I love it that much!

Great 4-wheel drive vehicle.

Currently the only issues I have with this vehicle are the heat and a hole in the exhaust, which leaves my check engine light on. I like my escape because I feel safe driving it. I feel this car is really reliable, we have problems only pop up occasionally. My car has leather interior and a sunroof, a 6 disc CD Player. There is enough room for 2 car seats. Has a big back end, I am able to get a lot of groceries in the back. My car takes unleaded gas.

Fully loaded Ford Escape. Compact SUV with a lot of room inside.

The escape handles like a car. It's just the right size to fit into most parking spots. It accelerates at a good speed. It has no blind spots. All the extras in the car are a bonus. I especially like the backup sensors. The transmission had problems at the start, but soon worked out well. We keep up with the maintenance and now have over 100k miles. It's a great car in bad weather too. And mountain driving is not a problem.

Reliable SUV with 4 wheel drive

My Ford Escape has been a relatively reliable vehicle. I like that it is a 4 wheel drive vehicle and that it is spacious for my family. I would say that my only complaint would be the most. I make a lot of trips to the gas station, so if you're looking for a fuel efficient car this isn't for you, unless going for the newer year models. Other than that, I enjoy this vehicle and would purchase again

Ten years of carefree and comfortable driving with regular maintenance.

Comfortable heated leather seats. Roomy cargo area. Reclining and electronically adjusting seats. All wheel brakes. Great visibility all around. This car has been great for 11 years, with the usual replacements of brakes and muffler along the way. It now is developing exhaust and oil leak problems and I will be replacing it soon. Up until now, however, I loved it.

Ford escape window issues.

The performance, reliability and comfort of the ford escape is great. One problem we have had is all the power windows have broke at some point and have needed replacing. One window has failed us twice. Major inconvenience when you are driving down the road and the window goes down and will not go back up.

Ford escape: gets you where you need to go.

It has problems with the tires. The pressure gauge is always saying they are too low and the traction on the tires is bad as well. It is comfortable though and reliable. Only thing is it has an oil leak but a very small one. The control center often says oil life low, oil change required, etc.

Great audiophile sound system.

Has great features. Sunroof, audiophile high tech sound system, leather seats, in dash navigation system. It has 140000 plus miles so has some problems. Motor shakes, had to replace 3 motor mounts, transmission is failing, it vibrates really bad. Needs shocks struts tie rods ball joints.
