2008 Blue Ford Escape Review

2008 Ford Escape XLT

I've loved the space inside the vehicle, without it being a huge car. Overall, I've been very happy with this vehicle and the comfort and durability. It's lasted us several years and it's still kicking. It's not without its problems though. The biggest problem we've had with the car is something with the steering column. It's like the wheel wouldn't catch and when turns were made it wouldn't register and made much wider turns, but that has been fixed for years. The next biggest is something wrong with the ignition. Sometimes it can take me 10 minutes or so just to get it started. Its something with the part where the key is inserted and sometimes it just doesn't line up correctly. We've also had a problem with the fans not working unless they're on full blast and a problem with the hinges breaking on the back liftgate window. Since it is older, there aren't nearly as many features as newer cars (like bluetooth, rearview camera, etc.) but it still does everything it needs to!

This vehicle is a solid investment.

2008 Ford Escape XLT

I love this vehicle. It has always been dependable. It has had a few minor problems, but all basic maintenance. My particular vehicle has had several battery replacements. Has a slight oil leak that started a couple years ago. The car was 8 years old when this started. It handles well in the snowy weather. I don't have 4 wheel drive but I do have the traction control which is nice. I do love having electric windows. Very nice option when you are the main, only driver. Gas mileage is decent for the year of the car. My car is not the flex fuel version as I didn't want to pay another 10 grand to drive a flex fuel. I did upgrade to the leather seats which has been a decision I have never regretted. I do not like the fact that ford decided to put some sort of sponge above the rear fenders. This has caused the fender on my left rear side to begin rusting. However my right rear fender doesn't show signs of rusting.

I love the space and rocks on top of my car. Love the lift of the vehicle.

2008 Ford Escape XLT

I love my escape because of the space in the car and the racks on top. I can lay the back seats flat and fit a bunch of stuff inside. I can also put kayaks or luggage on the top rack. I've had the car for about 5 years now with little to no problems. My sunroof did break and I haven't gotten it fixed due to the cost, I really miss having it though. The ac works great and cools the car down fast. Because it's a ford it's easy to work on and fix. It's easy to change the oil and oil filter. It was easy to find seat covers so I wouldn't damage the fabric since I put my dogs in the car. I live the life of the vehicle so I am not low to the ground. I like the electric windows and the control of the car. It has powered steering and cruise control. A decent speaker system with satellite radio and a CD player. Overall I am very pleased with the car.

The luxury like a jeep without paying the jeep price.

2008 Ford Escape XLT

The 2008 Ford Escape XLT AWD is a wonderful Vehicle for anyone. I look at my vehicle like a mini Jeep. It's cheaper than a Jeep but also gets you where you need to go just like a Jeep. One Problem I have noticed with my vehicle is that it started doing this weird ignition thing where it wouldn't engage the starter when the key was rotated. About the second or Third attempt is usually when the car starts. But that's the only issue I've encountered. Other than that if you are looking for a nice family vehicle that's also friendly on Gas then this is your car of choice.

Good CD good drive comfort for legs.

2008 Ford Escape XLT

It like small SUV, it keep running if I keep up with maintenance oil changes and things like that, it run smoothly, keep me running in winter storm, hot days it great air conditioning run well. No problems. It reliability comfortable, affordably trustworthy car lot back room to pack thing in, lot leg room, radio,CD for all your music can hook up for phone use, heat work well amazing no wear and tear clean car, you can adjust seat, put seat down carry extra luggage 4 door cars extra cargo easy for car seat.

- Lillie B

My Ford escape is roomy and drives very smooth.

2008 Ford Escape XLT

II like the look and it has a smooth ride. It is roomy inside but I wish it had better storage. The glove box is tiny and the center console it's very big. I have the 4X4 V6 and it's not enough engine for it. The acceleration is very slow so I would suggest getting the V8. I hate the when you use the back wiper the fluid just runs down the back all over your vehicle. A small lip on the window bottom to funnel it a few inches away would be better than having the marks from the fluid down the back.

- Kim M

2008 Escape is reliable as a new car.

2008 Ford Escape XLT

It's compact so fitting into parking places is always easy. It also has comfortable seating and storage so I never need to worry about not having enough room for road trips/ extreme grocery shopping trips. I dislike that I go through gas like crazy even though I drive 2-3 days out of the week for maybe a max of 30 minutes in total in each day. It does require me to keep up with maintenance so that I don't fall behind and feel like I'm paying a lot of money at once for tires/oil changes/rotors/etc.

Great family car with bonus of non radio listening option.

2008 Ford Escape XLT

Ford escape is a decent car, I love the compact size it has along with the spacious trunk. My kids love the sunroof so that they can look at all the clouds and stars. It has a great performance as long as routine maintenance is of course kept up like every other car on the market. It has the standard features like most cars, but my absolute favorite is the CD player and the aux cord plug in system so I do not have to always listen to the radio.

- Jennifer J

Great truck that is comfortable, easy to drive, and lots of room.

2008 Ford Escape XLT

The vehicle drives wonderfully. The only problem I have run into is rust problems. Wheel well and trunk door has rust. But it drives like a dream and have had no giant problems. My car has almost 90,000 miles on it and still is going strong. The seats are very comfy and leather. Also when you put that back seats down there is a ton of room for groceries or pets or whatever you have. The colors are really great too, mine happens to be blue.

Tough car and perfect size

2008 Ford Escape XLT

I did not love my Ford Escape initially as it was a hand me down, however, the car has proved to be very reliable and has stood the test of time extremely well. I am rough on cars but the Escape has held up to my demands. It is the perfect size for me and my large dog is very comfortable in the back when I put 60% of the backseat down! I am able to pack a lot of stuff into the car when traveling or moving

- Libby C

A tall man's crossover SUV.

2008 Ford Escape XLT

Well built little crossover SUV no major issues since taking ownership in 2014.. Normal wear and tear upkeep cost just wish the gas mileage was a bit higher I average 24 to 27 miles to the gallon. Power is good for what I need with plenty of cargo space to haul array of things. It is roomy with good legroom for me being six four without feeling cramped on a long drive.

Wonderful 2008 Escape truck for travel

2008 Ford Escape XLT

I love that my car is very comfortable for traveling. It drives very well in different conditions. For example we went to Colorado in winter and drove up the mountain and in icy conditions and we didn't have any problems with it. I did have to replace the ignition switch about 3 years ago which I thought was unusual but other than that it has been a great car.

- Gabriela Z

My 2008 ford escape with fold down seats it is big enough to hold a tall dresser.

2008 Ford Escape XLT

I have had mostly minor issues with it, such as timing belt, and I need a new ignition switch, but other than that it has been fairly reliable the only problem is I have a large family and it only seats 5. Cake it is decent gas mileage as long as you do an oil change and tune-up regularly. It drives smoothly, and I've been happy with it for the past 3 years.

- Christine H

Ford escape runs great and I love my car.

2008 Ford Escape XLT

I love ford, I always have. My escape runs great, gets decent gas mileage and is the perfect size vehicle. It runs great and has a lot of room inside! I keep up on the maintenance and I haven't had any big issues. My car is over 100,000 miles and it still runs perfectly! I just use synthetic oil. We go on a lot of road trips and it always is reliable.

- Breanna B

This vehicle has an abundance of space and it is quite comfortable.

2008 Ford Escape XLT

The 2008 Ford escape is a very reliable vehicle. It has been very dependable and comfortable. It has quite a large back storage area. The rear seats are adjustable and can lay flat to accommodate larger items. It has great gas mileage and can actually travel a bit longer after '0' than most. It has a display to track oil changes and fuel needs.

- Amy L

2008 Ford Escape, a dependable car, it can tow trailers and other needs.

2008 Ford Escape XLT

it is an older car so it naturally has some issues. I have experienced some issues with the framing and oil leaks. But otherwise a dependable car. It has lasted me a long time so far, now it does have a lot of miles on it so that also comes into play with things starting to not run correctly, but up until that point everything was great.

- Taylor R

...The most reliable... I truly enjoy driving it.

2008 Ford Escape XLT

Even though my ford escape is 11 years old, and has high mileage, it still runs smooth and quiet. With regular maintenance service it has been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. My escape is good on gas, and roomy enough for passengers and cargo without being too big, or using too much fuel. . I truly enjoy driving it.

- Cora J

very dependable. Overhead interior light has been an issue from the start

2008 Ford Escape XLT

Haven't had any issues with the vehicle. I keep up on the maintenance and it gets me where I need to go. No matter if it's states away or just around the corner. There have been times that the sun is shining in the windows just right that I can't see some of the things I'm looking at, or the sun is reflecting back into my eyes.

- Beth M

Overall excellent SUV affordable and reliable. Very solid.

2008 Ford Escape XLT

Excellent all around vehicle. Very good fuel economy, decent pick up speed, good solid ride. Good in snow. Does rust around rear wheel wells. Had to replace door actuators and a couple window brackets at around 7 years old. Rides very well on the highway but slight vibration for a few minutes exceeding 80 mph very maneuverable

- Phil F

My ford escape 2008 is a red car. It has a built on rack on top of the car.

2008 Ford Escape XLT

I like being up high with the view of the road. The seats are not low so I do not have to crouch down. I feel safe driving in this car. The back seats go all the way back flat with the trunk. It has 4 wheel drive which is nice for off roads. The gas mileage is not too bad it is not very expensive compared to other cars.

- Jade P

I love my easy to handle, good looking, travel ready ford escape.

2008 Ford Escape XLT

My ford escape is very dependable, has had few major repairs. It is comfortable, especially on long distance driving. Like the power adjustable driver seat and steering wheel, the intelligent four wheel drive and the sun roof. It is easy to get in and out and appreciate the back for loading groceries or almost anything.

- Tania L

Decent car if you have money for repairs

2008 Ford Escape XLT

The ford escape is very comfortable and drives nicely. It is an older vehicle though, so it has had to have a lot of repairs. I have gotten new tie rods put on and also just had an issue with an oil leak. I've had to repair the axles and the ball joints on my tires. I've put more money into the car than it's worth.

- Katie L

No overly interesting details, but it's a perfect compact size.

2008 Ford Escape XLT

I enjoy the size and ease to drive of this car. It's decent on gas too, I drive 100 miles a day on a rough road and it makes it through. However, I feel like it seems flimsy at times and often had something wrong with it that I need to take it to the garage for, such as wheel bearings and sway bar issues.

- Angelina P

Ford Escape: Reliable As Heck

2008 Ford Escape XLT

I quite enjoy the Ford Escape. It is a reliable car, even when I am driving 60 miles a day to work on the highway. This is definitely a car I would trust to get my most loved friends and family members to get anywhere. I have not had a single problem with it and I have had it for about 6 months now.

- Melanie C

Seats are a different material and extremely hard to clean.

2008 Ford Escape XLT

Seems there is always a problem with breaks. Transmission had to be replaced in my case. There were times at first where I was happy to have my car, but I feel if I had a newer or different car I would enjoy that it runs more smooth. Would have made a different purchase after knowing these things.

- Lauren E

Love how everything still works great and nothing breaks and lasts a long time.

2008 Ford Escape XLT

It's a great car for moms who have children. Runs really good and doesn't have any problems. Very long lasting car if you take care of it. Good gas mileage, very easy to get around in. Sound system, breaks, ignition, windows, keyless entry code all still works for being over 10 years old.

- Casey C

Great for winter time and rough roads

2008 Ford Escape XLT

Great vehicle I've had it for about 6 months and I love it too much! Great for winter time considering it has 4 wheel drive and it is great for off road adventures but can have some underbody issues with rusting. Sometimes needs a bit of work but I never regret buying this vehicle.

- Kori-Anne P

My Green 2008 Ford Escape

2008 Ford Escape XLT

My car is very reliable. I have had the car for four years and had two previous owners. It currently has 170,000 miles and is still going strong. My only complaint with the vehicle is that it is rusting around the wheel wells. I have had few problems with the 11 year old vehicle.

- Morgan D

4 wheel drive, can tow trailers

2008 Ford Escape XLT

21mpg,4 wheel drive automatic, CD player, radio, new hood new windshield, good in snow and ice, fold down back seats, has a recall, fits 5 people, has a hitch, pulls trailers, reliable, 122000 miles, gets better gas miles on long drives, good tires good small family type car

- Kayla L

2008 ford escape in detail.

2008 Ford Escape XLT

I own a 2008 ford escape. It drives pretty good, but we have had problems with the transmission twice. It is an older model, so I am about ready for an upgrade. The truck has about 150 thousand miles on it and has been heavily used within last couple of years.

- Shelly P

Sporty vehicle that is perfect for a family of four.

2008 Ford Escape XLT

I love the sporty look and the Escape is a sharp looking vehicle. It is easy to drive and seating is comfortable. I do sometimes regret though not getting something with 3rd row seating to accommodate more people. But overall it is perfect for our daily needs.

- Jessica K

Very long lasting, dependable vehicle

2008 Ford Escape XLT

I have had no problems with my Escape. It has been very dependable. I love the many features it has and the features I upgraded, for example the sunroof. My Escape has held up with two kids over the years. I have no complaints. I love the room we have inside

- Amber E

Four wheel drive best on the line.

2008 Ford Escape XLT

It is the best truck you can ever buy. Four wheel drive is like no other. You will not go wrong buying this truck. Love at first sight. Very strong truck. Never has failed me. Will never buy another truck. Ford stands behind its name. Great handling. Love it.
