SUV car without the size (also don't buy salvage cars)

2009 Ford Escape XLT

I bought this car because I loved my last car, a 2007 Ford Escape, and wanted a similar one. I love how great it is in the snow and how much cargo space I have. I also love that though it's an SUV, it doesn't feel like one. I love that I can park in almost any space, size-wise. The issues I have aren't so much related to the make and model, rather that I bought it as a salvage (though the sellers didn't tell me that prior to purchase) so I've had issues with their sloppy repairs. Such as they didn't prime the paint so it's peeling off the back. They also repaired the wiper fluid hose using a Bic pen canister. Other than things like that, I love this car as it's great in the snow.

This vehicle is great overall!

2009 Ford Escape XLT

I love my vehicle. It is very roomy. It has great sound. It has great gas mileage. It is stylish. It is comfortable and it also fits 3 small car seats side by side. It has had a few issues. I had a brake problem that caused them to fail but I fixed the issue before it caused any accidents. It also has a key ignition issue. It is wore out and it very hard to get it to start. It has a lot of play in it. I have to replace that part but that isn't a big issue. The vehicle drives well and has good power to it. Overall it has been one of my favorite vehicles.

Lots of cargo space. Reliable, dependable and smooth ride.

2009 Ford Escape XLT

It is a good compact SUV that drives nice and seats 5 comfortably. Large storage space with spare under the vehicle. The gas mileage is better than a large SUV but is not made for lots of city driving. It drives loud but smooth. I like the cup holders and center console. I am short so like the seat and steering wheel adjustments. It is dependable and reliable with great cargo space. The only real complaint is the loud ride, I have to turn stereo up louder than I would like and it is difficult to have a Bluetooth conversation because of noise.

Ford escape: practical car.

2009 Ford Escape XLT

The ford escape is incredibly reliable and sturdy car to meet all of my needs. I live in New England where the weather can be unpredictable, and the escape gives me the opportunity to go about my day without any worries about the car having trouble getting through rain or snow. It drives comfortably and is a very practical car. With over 150,000 miles on it I have been forced to get some maintenance work done on the car, but because it is a ford it is always easy to get it take care of.

Problems with 2009 Ford Escape

2009 Ford Escape XLT

This car has advantages, but also has its defects. The major problem is with the power steering assist control module. I is located on the steering column under the dashboard. When it fails it will cost between $800 and $1200 to get it replaced. Another problem is the tire pressure indicator system, which doesn't indicate which tire sensor is bad. You have to go a tire dealer to have it replaced and cost $95 just for the sensor.

2009 Ford Escape XLT 4WD Premium Wheels, Factory color changing interior lights.

2009 Ford Escape XLT

Has leather seats, towing package, moonroof, 4WD, backup sensors. Runs and drives well. Has 238,000 miles on it and still running strong. Dislike that the back brakes are drum and not disc like the front. Does need some suspension work now, but not upset cause the car has such high miles. I have not towed anything with it so can't comment on it's ability but overall a great car, love the look of it, comfortable and roomy.

Very Well Traveled Ford Escape!

2009 Ford Escape XLT

Overall I love my vehicle, (Ford Escape 2009) I travel so much and I have put almost 250,000 miles on it with very minimal issues. It is great on gas and it's roomy and comfortable inside! Recently I had a leak in my gas tank, but it was easily fixed. Wear and tear is going to happen on any and every vehicle over time, but I'm very happy with my Ford and how long it has lasted me.

Very dependable & comfortable

2009 Ford Escape XLT

There have been no major problems to be fixed. It has been very reliable. It is comfortable to travel long distance. It gets around well in the winter even being a 2wd. The sunroof is a nice extra feature. One major downfall is with the cloth seats. They hold water spots. When a raindrop hits them or condensation from a bottle of water or soda gets on them, they leave a mark.

The spacious 2009 ford escape XLT.

2009 Ford Escape XLT

The ford escape XLT is an amazing vehicle to own. It is very spacious with foldable rear seating. Wonderful for kids or dogs! The sunroof is large and very accessible. The vehicle itself has good gas mileage and drives smooth. The air conditioning is cold and the heat gets sweltering. But once again the spacious room of the vehicle helps disperse air throughout the vehicle.

Ford Escape, my favorite vehicle.

2009 Ford Escape XLT

My vehicle has been very dependable. Only minimal repair has needed. I have put on 250,000 it still runs like new. Great gas mileage for an SUV as well. Its spacious enough for my tall 14 year old to sit in the back seat. It's not too high off the ground that you have to climb into it. I would purchase one multiple times over again.

I love how I am able to connect my phone through Bluetooth to talk on the phone

2009 Ford Escape XLT

no problems with it at all! everything works great it was my dad's car and he passed it along to me when it was all paid off and there is never any problems with it. The gas mileage is the only thing that could be a problem as it runs low pretty quickly and sometimes the gas tank leaks but other than that it's great!

2009 Ford Escape XLT- Everything in Newer vehicle but Used

2009 Ford Escape XLT

Sturdy, no serious mechanical issues, great for hauling and travel, gas mileage is decent, roughly 15 gallon gas tank, easy clean cloth seats, sunroof is a nice added feature, auto locks and windows, remote start, travels smooth, trunk has lift gate and window latch, am/FM stereo and CD player, Bluetooth enabled

Throttle issue, wrench light comes on and it slows down then dies.

2009 Ford Escape XLT

Honestly, the only real problem I have had is the little wrench comes on and the car slows way down then dies. You wait a minute and restart it. You have to replace the throttle when that starts happening and it seems common after about 10 years. Other than that this car has been the best I have ever had!

- April R

Holds up well, even after hitting a deer at 45 MPH!

2009 Ford Escape XLT

The only problem right now is that the check engine light is on for the gas cap but my model doesn't have a gas cap so the technicians think it's a small leak. Drives and functions well! I love the layout of everything. Super easy to adjust volume and AC/Heat without having to take your eyes off of the road.

My 2009 Ford Escape is Rusty but Trusty

2009 Ford Escape XLT

I've had this car for 7 years and had minimal issues. It's very comfortable and easy to see out of. It sits up high enough that I don't have many blind spots. As an older car, it doesn't have the most up to date features and that is the only downside for me. For now, it is worth the reliability and comfort.

- Erin H

It's very good on gas and has enough room for my family and I.

2009 Ford Escape XLT

My 2009 Ford escape is a great vehicle. I've owned it since new. I've never had any major problems from it. It's been a very reliable and dependable vehicle. The ride is smooth and comfortable. It's been all that I've expected. I would definitely recommend it to others looking for a new car.

2009 Ford Escape- excellent condition and purrs like a little !

2009 Ford Escape XLT

This truck has never let me down. I bought it used, but it was in excellent shape and condition. I've had a few minor issues but nothing that couldn't be fixed. I feel safe in this vehicle. I plan on keeping it until it stops working. It's great on gas and is just overall a wonderful truck.

- Stacy H

I want to highlight is the hands free component of sync, it's such a safety bonus

2009 Ford Escape XLT

I love my SUV it is reliable and typically has no maintenance problems. It's comfortable, rides well, and very spacious. I have dogs and they ride comfortably, as well as moving furniture. It's a great family car. I have sync for hands free with my phone so it makes driving much safer.

- Jackie K

The Ford Escape is a great car for small families or individuals.

2009 Ford Escape XLT

I love my escape. It's the perfect size for my needs. It gets great gas mileage. It's 10 years old and I've kept up with the maintenance so no serious problems. The fan blade broke off last year but was able to get that fixed with no problems. It performs well for its age and mileage.

- Tammy S

Reliable, decent acceleration, comfortable and easy maintenance

2009 Ford Escape XLT

Great car, I have never had issues with it. As long as you regularly maintain the vehicle, it works very well, I've clocked mine over 200k miles and it's working perfectly fine. If you're looking for a cheaper small SUV it's perfect. Good on gas too. I'd recommend getting one

- Ben B

Long life on ford escape and it is been the best vehicle I have ever owned.

2009 Ford Escape XLT

I have had it ten years and have had zero issues. No lie, it is been fantastic. The ride is not perfect, but it is an SUV. I've never gotten stuck in the snow, the gas mileage is pretty decent, it is roomy enough for my dog, and I would gladly buy another one eventually.

- Matt W

Good and Bad features of a Ford Escape.

2009 Ford Escape XLT

Great vehicle, however the electric power steering goes out at time, and the transmission is slipping, also having problems with the throttle body. However, I do love this vehicle, I just wish I had gotten it in four wheel drive. Good family car, with lots of truck space.

- Amy S

2009 ford escape. Its an SUV, that is really safe and great for kids.

2009 Ford Escape XLT

I love my ford escape. It's the safest vehicle I have ever had. There's a moon roof, you can adjust your seat height, an aux cord to play your own music and it tells you how many miles until e. It is really comfy and extremely reliable. My next car will be a newer escape.

- Lisa M

It's a nice SUV that is the small version of ford's SUV line.

2009 Ford Escape XLT

The 2009 ford escape is a nice SUV it's the small version of ford's SUV line. It handles well in snow and rain. It is a great vehicle for the price. Mine has plenty of perks, heated leather seats, tinted windows and more. I just prefer the bigger version of any SUV.

- Michelle L

Ford escape 2009 owned for about nine years now.

2009 Ford Escape XLT

It is reliable, easy to maintain, and very few issues since i've had it. Good mileage per gallon, only had one issue since I bought it used and back window wiper is not pressed against glass all the way. Other than that it is a nice easy car and good looking too.

- Raymond L

Vinyl sheeting nice and small income tax

2009 Ford Escape XLT

My vehicle hasn't had too many problems I really loved it since I've gotten it I totally recommend it to anybody. It's nice and easy to get around with pretty small but not too small. I got it sell my used car dealership very compacted. The color of it is red.

- Erica P

My Ford Escape is the perfect size SUV

2009 Ford Escape XLT

The only problem I have with my vehicle is how quickly it's rusting. The rear wheel wells have busted out in rust and the underside of the rear hatch is rusty as well. This is really disappointing because the car is a 2009 and I've only had it for 4 years.

- Rachel Y

I totally love my 2009 Escape!!

2009 Ford Escape XLT

Had my Escape for over 7 years now and I LOVE IT! No major issues and it has 170,000 miles on it now. New tires every 60,000 and oil change every 5000... no issues. A little surface rust on the rear quarters, otherwise the truck is in fantastic shape!

- James C

My favorite car the ford escape.

2009 Ford Escape XLT

The ford escape XLT is the most reliable car I've ever owned it's great for long trips the gas mileage is awesome for an SUV of its size. Mine is slate grey and it's so amazing. I have never owned a better vehicle than this SUV. This concludes my input.
