Ford escape: super reliable with a cool rearview mirror.

2010 Ford Escape XLT

I love my ford escape. It is very reliable in all weather, whether it is raining, snowing, super windy, anything! The brake system is also great, and I never have to worry if I will be able to stop in time. I am on my own, and occasionally take people out with me, and there is plenty of space in the car that allows everyone, including myself to be comfortable. One of my favorite features regarding my comfort is how quickly the a/c cools the vehicle down on hot days. Another feature I really love is the rear parking aid. The camera 'screen' is located on the rearview mirror, which makes it great, and safe, for me to use my mirror and my camera when I drive in reverse. The only issue that I really have with the vehicle is more of a preferential concern, and that is the lower gas mileage. But with all the other great features of my escape, I wouldn't trade it for better gas mileage if I lost all the good features.

Runs fine but overall a disappointment

2010 Ford Escape XLT

The car is very loud when driving especially when you are on the freeway. It seems as though there is little soundproofing or the seals around doors and windows are not that high quality. There are no mechanical or structural issues on our vehicle that would explain the noise when driving. The interior of the car seems very cheap and not of any high quality in any way. We have cloth seats and they have ripped and torn shortly after we purchased and it was not due to misuse just from getting in and out. The biggest issue is though is on the trunk/liftgate window has a seal around it for waterproofing however it allows water to slowly deep through and from there the water drips down the interior of the car and goes down to the switch mechanism that allows you to open the trunk. The water caused a short and broke the actuator motor. Then after replacing the actuator and seal the same thing happens again.

The Ford Escape will help you do just that, in the best way possible.

2010 Ford Escape XLT

I have never really had any problems with our Escape, just regular, expected, maintenance as the car gets into its 10th year on the road. Performance and reliability have been great as we have driven it from Arizona to Oregon and put on some hefty miles while in Oregon, all with no issues and feeling quite safe. Comfort-wise, I only wish the second row seats would recline, but other than that, there is plenty of legroom, the seats are properly padded for support and long drives, and they upholstery is functional for easy cleaning. We enjoy our Escape so much the latest model is on our top 3 for our next purchase.

Good car just issues with the ignition switch and sway bars.

2010 Ford Escape XLT

We have issues with the sway bars and them coming loose on multiple occasions. We have replaced the sway bar links about 6 times in 5 years. They will come loose and make a terrible knocking sound whenever you hit a bump. Also, there is an issue with the ignition switch, it has been replaced but still have to fight with key to get it to start. At this point the steering column cover is removed at the bottom and I have to push on the ignition switch and wiggle the key to start the car. This does seem to happen more in warmer temperatures, when it is cold out, like below freezing it is not as much of a problem.

Ford Escape: Great Features and Reliability, Not so Great Gas Mileage

2010 Ford Escape XLT

My vehicle has lower gas mileage than I originally thought/was advertised. My vehicle also revs REALLY loudly, people always stare when I'm accelerating. That being said, my car is extremely reliable, I have never had any worries about it getting me where I need to go. It is very comfortable to drive in for long drives. The entertainment center is amazing; I loved how easily I can pair my phone or use the USB charging port to connect to the stereo,

- Emily L

To take you from your 20s to your 30s - a reliable fun, family-friendly vehicle!

2010 Ford Escape XLT

The car is dependable, never had an serious issues with it. Even though I do not have 4wd, I have navigated it over and through rough, uneven terrain no problem. It gets great gas mileage for an SUV. It is comfortable, although with kids in the car and dogs, it gets a little cramped for family vacations. For the cost and longevity and dependability I have experienced over the past 9 years, I have zero regrets for purchasing this vehicle.

Blue 2010 Ford Escape. Everything goes wrong with this vehicle.

2010 Ford Escape XLT

Ford escapes are horrible! Every little thing that can go wrong with a vehicle, will go wrong with a Ford Escape. I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone. I've only had it for a little over a year, I've change the battery, alternator, my back window blew out due to rust on the brackets. I need a new ac pump. My heating and cooling is messed up, only works on high. My back wiper motor is out.

The ins and outs of a ford escape.

2010 Ford Escape XLT

This car has had very few problems. Sway bar links broke, exhaust fell off. The upholstery is impossible to clean, nothing I have tried has worked. The seats are complete junk. If the trip is more than five miles take something else! The seats are shaped wrong and do not have enough padding. And a constant source of annoyance are the floor mats that will not stay in place.

- Mark H

Its white but called pearl white it has a perfection kind of shine to it

2010 Ford Escape XLT

The car rides smooth haven't had any major issues, gets great gas mileage very quiet engine, has a lot of power behind it. The downside is its had several recalls which Ford has taken care of all. I purchased the car at an auction with 21,000 miles and it had been the best car that I have ever owned. When I do purchase a new one it will be another Ford

- Julie F

Seats. The seat stain when water is spilled on them and you cannot get them out.

2010 Ford Escape XLT

Drives great good size . Good mileage good space in back. Comfortable ride comfortable seats back seat is good size & comfortable . Engine light comes on frequently usually do to a sensor there is no gas cap on the car which always makes the check engine light come on. The only downside is when the seats get wet even if it is just water it stains.

- Becky B

It is the perfect small sized SUV

2010 Ford Escape XLT

I love my Ford Escape! I bought it used with less than 20,000 miles on it. I use this as a daily vehicle and keep up with regular maintenance. I have only had one issue with my SUV and that was a seal for the gas once that was fixed everything has been great! The cab is comfortable for my family of four and I would buy another Ford Escape!

- Casey M

My review of my 2010 ford escape.

2010 Ford Escape XLT

I love my ford escape. It is comfortable and roomy. It does have an option to sync your phone to it but I have yet to figure that out. It has a great stock stereo system and cruise control. I do wish that there was an option to have your lights come on and off automatically. Especially since that is a standard feature on older cars.

- Jamie W

The car is an SUV but it is nice and compact. It is a car that is nice to drive.

2010 Ford Escape XLT

The SUV is a very nice car. It drives well. It has heated seats, good air conditioners. The car drives well. It has good performance and it is reliable. It has great features. It has tinted back windows for privacy. The only thing I particular do not care for is that sometimes when we drive up a hill it does not have enough pull.

- Mill G

Gas prices and tune-ups..

2010 Ford Escape XLT

Steadily needs tuneup, rides great, suspension goes out in city, gas is awful, but very comfortable and nice car. Has Bluetooth, nice sound system, looks very nice, keyless entry, performance is great on highway but the city is hard on it. I love the car, just wish it wasn't as much of a finance as far as gas and tune ups.

- Maria C

Multiple recalls and problems on a 9 year old car

2010 Ford Escape XLT

I've had multiple recalls, my car has died everyday for a week due to my back windshield wiper going out, then my belt snapped. I had to replace the throttle body and then I had to replace the underbody due to rust. It takes a lot of gas out of the car. It's a nice looking vehicle but it has a lot of problems all the time.

- Sydney M

2010 Ford Escape, Slate Blue

2010 Ford Escape XLT

Mileage has not been majorly consistent. Has been very reliable, although slow to start at points. Performance-wise, the car has been very well. The car has been very comfortable and have enjoyed it since ownership. Uncertain as to why mine includes running boards while similar models do not but am happy for them.

- Chance D

Mine has leather seats, sunroof, Bluetooth. I love all of it

2010 Ford Escape XLT

Very reliable. I've only have to fix the back hatch latch, window motor on driver door, and the air conditioner. It has a sunroof and I haven't had any issues out of it at all. It's my favorite vehicle I have owned. I don't ever see myself getting rid of it unless something happens and I just absolutely have to.

- Brittany K

I like the fact that it has a sunroof

2010 Ford Escape XLT

Vehicle is in good working condition but I'm having trouble with the air in the tires. Also has rust spots by where the gas cap is but besides that I love it. If I were to change anything I would go back and buy a brand new one because the one I bought was used and had to pretty major damage to the front bumper.

- Nathan N

Ford Escape for a High school graduate

2010 Ford Escape XLT

The brand Ford is very reliable and I have had no problems with my vehicle yet, I bought it used. The gas mileage is good and everything is smooth. Breaks are good and don't squeak at all. Just got an inspection and everything is just dandy. Overall great car for a high school graduate going into college

- Julia F

Very reliable and was what we wanted.

2010 Ford Escape XLT

The escape is very reliable SUV it handles nice easy to get in and out of. It has a lot of get up and go for a 4 cyl. Car roomie and nice for long trips. Only bad that I have encounter is the gas flap leaks air causing the engine light to stay on, been tested on computer and the code is for gas flap.

- Bob M

Awesome car for everyone!

2010 Ford Escape XLT

This car is really good. It has Bluetooth capabilities that are easy to use. It also drives super smoothly and virtually have no problems with it. The gas mileage is really awesome as I only have to fill up every two weeks. If you're looking for a fun car for a small family this is the car for you.

- Peyton R

Overall wear of car over time.

2010 Ford Escape XLT

Problem with the transmission around 100,000 miles - totally went out. Also had to replace entire a/c system at about 150,000 miles. Other than that the vehicle has been great and is still running very well at 180,000. Fairly good gas mileage & safe vehicle. Great for kids/pets - lots of room.

- Nick T

Its a 2010 ford escape with red color and 4 tires.

2010 Ford Escape XLT

I like my car but i'd rather have a truck...I like trucks but this is the only one I could get at the time I don't want to sell my car but I've always wanted a truck single cab with tool box on back . ...I want it to be blue with camper on back it's not for sale but i'd rather have a truck.

- Sheila G

Solid SUV choice for those not looking to spend a lot.

2010 Ford Escape XLT

I enjoy my Escape. It is versatile and allows me to haul my kayak around. I have never had any major repairs to it and the gas mileage is decent for a SUV. I bought it used and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a decent, inexpensive vehicle that can hold a full family.

- Charlie Z

The all wheel drive is summarizing the best feature on the car.

2010 Ford Escape XLT

I have a problem with the power steering and it was under recall. I do like the all wheel drive and the extra slippery button when it's raining or snowing out. Other than regular wear and tear maintenance on the car it's been very reliable. I would definitely recommend it to other people.

- Mars S

Pretty much what you'd expect.

2010 Ford Escape XLT

The vehicle runs well. It has a decent amount of power. The four wheel drive works well when I need it. There has been a recurring issue with the tire pressure sensor, but nothing major. No mechanical problems. Nice amount of storage space. Interior and exterior are both holding up well.

- Josh F

Great SUV - love this body style.

2010 Ford Escape XLT

This car has been great. It gets me through the snow, rain, and ice. I have sync which has also been a nice feature. I purchased it brand new and have had minimal problems with it. There is an issue with the oil leaking behind the front engine cover that will be costly to replace.

- Niki M

Will never drive anything else

2010 Ford Escape XLT

I absolutely love my escape! It gets decent gas mileage, it is comfortable even for long trips, has plenty of storage space and hasn't given me any problems! Mine also accepts the E85 fuel which, if you can find it, is much cheaper. Does negatively impact the gas mileage though.

- Liz D

Ford escape XLT is a great family car.

2010 Ford Escape XLT

The performance of the ford escape is very good. It has a 6 cylinder and has a lot of get up and go. It is also good on fuel. It gets very high gas mileage on the highway. There are 2 recalls open on this vehicle right now for the fuel system that can cause the system to leak.

- Annette W

Sport utility vehicle very attractive but can utilize for more than just looks.

2010 Ford Escape XLT

Very reliable but seems to have problems that are echoed by other owners. The ac has messed up three times and only once under warranty. The liftgate will not open with the push button. Great for hauling stuff and people. Decent gas mileage as well for a mini SUV.

- Kelly C

2010 escape- black 2010..

2010 Ford Escape XLT

The transmission fails often with the older escapes. Otherwise runs well. The eco friendly gas tank is annoying and makes lights go off. Says emission issues. I prefer leather do not have leather my 2002!Escape had leather. Runs great good gas mileage comfy seats.

- J K

The ride is smooth for this SUV, and the interior is very comfortable as well,

2010 Ford Escape XLT

This car has been great, only problem seems to be with the gas tank and cover., check engine light comes off and often regarding those matters., once you giggle the fuel pump in the hole of the gas tank it seems to go off for a few weeks, Great A/C, blows great!

- Becky I

2010 ford escape black with power seats and sunroof.

2010 Ford Escape XLT

The escape was 6 years old when we bought it. We have had to fix the water pump, drivetrain sensor, alternator and power steering control. I like the way it handles and it has good acceleration. It has a nice sunroof and power features such a seats and mirrors.

- Crystal G

I like how it drove when I first bought it.

2010 Ford Escape XLT

My car had issues with the air conditioning and transmission. I had to replace the belt several times. Also had issues with the suspension due to the weather in my environment. It has been very expensive and they didn't live up to the warranty. That is all.

- Tyler C

Great little family car, Great on gas

2010 Ford Escape XLT

Great on gas, Seats 5 people, sits up high, but since its a 2010 the car seems to have minor issues that are breaking, 4 doors easy to get in and out of, great for 1 or 2 kids. Comfortable driving would like heated, cool seats, has a remote start, enjoy it

- Jennifer W

The Ford Escape... it really does let you escape

2010 Ford Escape XLT

It has been a very good reliable vehicle. No major problems of any kind with all minor issues being taken care of by the dealer. It has all the features that my wife wanted and has been very comfortable to ride in. Excellent power and gets good mileage

- Andy W

Small but spacious with smooth driving and dependable traction.

2010 Ford Escape XLT

The AWD feature is amazing because I live in the country. Smooth driving compared to other vehicles I have owned. Very spacious to be a small SUV, the gas mileage is another huge plus. I always recommend a ford SUV because of the amazing AWD feature.

- Sonya W
