Better Safe than Warranty free

2011 Ford Escape XLS

For the most part it is a really good car. My only daily concern with the car is I wish the car had better gas mileage. Looking at major problems with this vehicle I have had some issues with the engine. Fortunately, it has been under warranty, so the costs have not been too significant. I would definitely recommend buying the warranty because it has been so worth it for me. This would be the third engine I have had in this car. This all started because one day when I was driving my car had a piece under the hood come off while I was driving. This piece went through the engine and destroyed it. After that the vehicle was in repair for nearly two months at a Ford dealership. They put a new engine in and again it was not firing right. After this they put the third engine in and after that I made sure to get an extended warranty on the engine. It is a good thing I did because after a few years my check engine light came on. I went to have it repaired and this would have cost me potentially over $5,000 without the warranty to fix a small piece of the engine. Luckily, I was able to get it fixed for a very low cost, and I was able to use a rental during the time it was being fixed. Although I have had my fair share of issues with the car, I still enjoy the vehicle. In addition, Ford has been pretty helpful making sure that everything is up to date and running smoothly with the car.

2011 Ford Escape was a great purchase for me.

2011 Ford Escape XLS

I drive a lot. My escape currently has almost 180,000 miles on it. There have been very few problems. We keep up with the regular maintenance on it. The dealership where we bought it takes care of the maintenance. When driven properly I get good gas mileage with it. Gas mileage averages from 24 to 30 mpg. Between town and highway driving I normally get 25 to 26 mpg. I have gotten up to 31 mpg on the highway. My escape is off white with black interior. The only thing I would change is the black interior. The black interior shows all the dust. We live in the country with a driveway that is gravel and 2/10 mile long. This has been a very reliable car with very few problems. Have replaced battery, tires and wipers but no major issues. This past week the check engine light came on and they replaced the seal on the gas lid. There is not a gas cap, just a seal on the lid that keeps dust and water out. I like the convenience of not having to keep up with a gas cap. My car handles very well on the road. And it is comfortable. The ac works great and I love the seat warmers. The radio has a good sound and I love that I was able to load my music into the jukebox. I have a sunroof but don't use it much due to problems with skin cancer. I would recommend the escape to anyone.

White, 2011, Ford, Escape

2011 Ford Escape XLS

I bought me vehicle used when it was 5 years old. There were about 80k miles on it. At the time of purchase there were no issues. A few years after I had be Escape, I started to get a notification that there was a problem with the engine. I've had the car diagnosed servers times but there didn't seem to be any issues that the mechanic could identify. The digit screen started to show a 'check fuel tank inlet' message. I'm still not sure why as my SUV does not have a gas cap. The problem doesn't display any longer but now a indication, after driving about 20 miles, says 'check tire pressure gauge' but I have brand new tires and there is not an actual problem with the tire pressure.'

Ford Escape still reliable after 200,000 miles

2011 Ford Escape XLS

I have owned this car since 2013. While I did have to pay to get work done on the transmission shortly after I bought it, I would still consider it a reliable car. I have put over 200,000 miles on it and with regular maintenance it still runs well. The navigation system and reverse camera are nice features that I have used every day with no frustration. All in all I think for a midsize SUV it was a great car for a reasonable price.

No problems after 130,000 miles

2011 Ford Escape XLS

I've had the Escape for 2 years. It has ~130,000 miles. It doesn't ride rough at all. I love the color (blue) and the style. It also has a moon roof which is great. A couple of weeks ago it sounded like the muffler had come off - very loud. Had it fixed, the connection on the exhaust pipe had come apart - they welded it back together for $40. I really like this vehicle.

My little SUV is great. The floorboard lighting and heated seats are cool.

2011 Ford Escape XLS

I really like my SUV even though it has a few recalled parts on it. I am planning on having those issues take care of soon. This vehicle handles well and has plenty of room for what I need. I have never had any mechanical issues with it. Never have been broke down. Only have had standard maintenance on it. Very reliable. I like the heated seats in the winter.

- Denise Q

High end for the year it was made. Only real issue with it is an weak battery.

2011 Ford Escape XLS

The vehicle generally runs very well. The only issue is the battery, which is weaker than I would prefer it to be and occasionally does not start the car and requires a jump. It is a very comfortable car to ride in however and comes with a variety of features. It has heated seats, backup camera, aux cord input. Charging ports and Bluetooth sync for phones.

Easy driving Ford Escape!

2011 Ford Escape XLS

Super comfortable car and easy drive. Bigger car than a sedan but doesn't feel like you are driving a large car. Love the ability to put the back seats down flat to easily move boxes or even furniture. Doesn't have any flashy features like Bluetooth but does have an auxiliary jack to connect your phone. Perfect car to get you where you need to go.

Review of my 2011 Ford Escape

2011 Ford Escape XLS

Love my vehicle. It drives smooth and has very low miles. I haven't had many issues with it. I did have to replace the air conditioning system a few month ago, but it's an eight year old vehicle so I expect to have to do some maintenance for the upkeep of the vehicle. It gets really good gas mileage for an SUV (roughly 25 miles per gallon).

- Arlene J

There is no gas cap. This makes for easy and new eco friendly ways.

2011 Ford Escape XLS

There have been a few recalls on the car and the car battery has died while I was driving it but other than that I really enjoy the car. It is very spacious while still being a good sized car. It has Sirius radio which I have enjoyed using. It gets good gas for its mileage. It is a smooth ride and the look of the car itself is nice.

Has great gas mileage and extremely comfortable

2011 Ford Escape XLS

I absolutely love my Ford Escape. It is terrific on gas mileage and the most comfortable thing I have ever driven. I haven't had a single problem with it. The thing I like most about it I think is that it's an SUV but also a 4 cylinder. I also have a tiny Ford Focus and it almost has the exact same gas mileage.

- Erika B

I enjoy the Ford Escape. I have had my car since 2013.

2011 Ford Escape XLS

Transmission slipping. It started to do this after 100,000 miles. The Bluetooth in the vehicle doesn't work half the time so it can be frustrating, especially since Georgia has the hands free law. I am not able to answer any phone calls on the road anymore so it can be difficult to go on long distance trips

- Morgan P

Love my ford escape. It is safe and great on winter roads!!

2011 Ford Escape XLS

It is very reliable. I haven't had any issues. I have changed the tires and brakes. I keep up with oil changes. It is very good in winter weather!! It is very comfortable and roomy inside. I think it will be the last vehicle I ever buy. It is an SUV, but has a 4 cylinder engine. The gas mileage is good.

- Sandy R

Ford escape: a very reliable vehicle.

2011 Ford Escape XLS

Very reliable vehicle. No real problems with it except driver's side mirror was cracked when purchased. Great to drive in the winter. Able to pull a boat or other vehicle with a hitch on it. Great gas mileage, roomy back seat. As long as you keep up with the maintaining it, this will last a long time.

- Megan K

It is good on gas and great for traveling! It has a lot of charging outlets

2011 Ford Escape XLS

My ford was leased and used. It has 4 cylinders and has been great for long car rides. We drive to Maine and Florida form New York each year and it has been wonderful. It runs better on gas than my Jeep compass. The trunk is very open and roomy enough to fit a lot. The sunroof is my favorite part.

- Angelina C

Good, reliable vehicle for our family

2011 Ford Escape XLS

Had a power steering recall that was fixed quickly, have had air conditioner problems almost since we bought it, seems to overcharge, we like the back seats that we can fold down or only fold half down, good room for our legs in the front and back, has been a good vehicle since we bought it.

- Michelle G

It's a great family small SUV

2011 Ford Escape XLS

It's reliable, comfortable, drives great in any weather, is AWD so great in the snow, has Sirius radio. Power doors power locks power seats heated seats great heater and air conditioning plenty of room great gas mileage plenty of space in cargo area and a full size spare Love my Escape!

- Nancy G

Ford escape: small but sturdy.

2011 Ford Escape XLS

My 2011 ford escape is fun to drive and easy to handle. Flex fuel really helps you save money on gas and is better for the environment. The seat warmers are really nice during those cold Midwestern winters. Perfect sized truck for a small family. Ford is the best in Texas!

- Gaby S

Very spacious, great family car and very reliable.

2011 Ford Escape XLS

I love it! Been having some tire issues though it always needs air and sometimes it acts funny when it starts but other than that it is a great car. I didn't purchase it brand new so that could have something to do with it or just bad tires. But definitely recommend.

- Haven B

Love the vehicle - concerned about the transmission!

2011 Ford Escape XLS

The vehicle rides well - nice and smooth - and has decent mileage - around 20 mpg. The only issue we've had is with the transmission. We had to replace it at 90,000 miles and I'm not very confident that the new transmission is going to last for a long period of time.

- Marian M

Roomy and with versatility you'd expect.

2011 Ford Escape XLS

Gas mileage is decent for an SUV. I range about 28 mpg. City driving lowers mpg. Comfortable and roomy. Fold down back seats make it easy to haul just about anything. Also does very well in snow with on demand 4x4. I've had no issues with my vehicle, very reliable.

- Jennifer G

More good than bad about the

2011 Ford Escape XLS

The clean fuel outlet light comes on every time, I put gas in the vehicle. Otherwise it is perfect. It is just the right size for an older person and it's great on gas. It is easy to park, and the visibility is great while driving. No real blind spots.

- Georgie G

The ford escape is a great car.

2011 Ford Escape XLS

My car is great. It runs good. Very reliable to commute from work and school. Very good on gas. A lot of room for kids who play many sports. Runs like a champ. I do not think have any complaints. I would love to upgrade to a newer model in the near future.

- Victoria V

Best vehicle I have ever owned.

2011 Ford Escape XLS

I have not had any problems with my vehicle since I have bought it. I have had this vehicle for three years, and put over 60,000 miles on it. Aside from regular maintenance and replacement of part, there has been no major mechanical issues to report.
