Low maintenance, highly dependable vehicle.

2012 Ford Escape XLS

This car has been an absolute gem for me. I've had only a few minor repairs and they've all been sensors of one kind or another, which you would expect to go at some point with today's technology and the fact that I've had my car for 7 years. I've kept up with routine maintenance and have had zero repairs. This is the complete opposite of my previous car. The car still performs as it is brand new even after 7 years. At the time, I was in a different financial situation so I don't have many extra features, but the car is still very comfortable for my family of five. I have three child seats across the back row and all the children are comfortable in their seats; they don't feel too crowded. This experience with Ford has really locked me in with a future purchase. The ESCAPE will probably be a bit small as my family grows, but I still have a solid 3-4 years left, in my opinion, with this car. After that, I will definitely be looking at FORD to upgrade to a larger vehicle.

Ford Escape: safe, reliable, and simple

2012 Ford Escape XLS

My Ford Escape has been very reliable so far. It has a v4 engine and limited high tech add-ons, which makes for simple, uncomplicated repairs. The v4 engine does make it difficult to speed up quickly. The 2012 Ford Escape has stow-n-go seating allowing for more storage if needed. I have benefited from the automatic Bluetooth connection to my phone for hands free calls. There is access to a USB and Auxiliary cord jack for optimal music listening. I also feel safe driving during the winter months with the AWD function. Overall, I would recommend the Ford Escape if you're looking for a simple, reliable car that is big enough to haul small loads, but small enough to still have a car-driving feel.

It is a great road trip vehicle for all.

2012 Ford Escape XLS

We have loved owning this vehicle. It has been very reliable for us. It travels well and has a large trunk that leaves room for all of our gear as my daughter plays travels ball and my husband is a coach. The back provides drink holders in the middle that does not take up seating along with charging ports, making long road trips more relaxing for the back seat passengers. The seat folding down makes for an added bonus for those trips to pick large items as if we had a truck.

It has great interior flexibility with easy to adjust seats and a lot of room.

2012 Ford Escape XLS

I love the 2012 ford escape. The car was bought brand new and has been great the entire time. There has not been any mechanical problems. . I really enjoy the exterior of the 2012 model more than the newer versions. I also appreciate how company the SUV is while still being incredibly spacious. I put the back seats down easily and they turn into a flatbed, so I can move stuff or have enough room to bring my dog in the car with me. Overall, this is a great vehicle.

Large vehicle for safety, small vehicle for control

2012 Ford Escape XLS

It is a great small SUV where it feels large enough to feel safe on the road but it's not too big to handle driving. The drive and controls are very smooth for a quiet smooth ride. It's great having a rear windshield wiper and windshield fluid to keep rear visibility during rain. The sound system is very good for being a small SUV. If you enjoy hearing lots of bass in your music, it's fantastic, and if you don't it's still great.

Vehicle is practical, comfortable, and resilient.

2012 Ford Escape XLS

Vehicle performs well in all weather though engine power is mediocre due to only 4 cylinder engine. Vehicle is resilient; has been in more than one small accident, has been stolen, and now has a refurbished engine due to oil change technician forgetting to put oil back in vehicle. Do not recommend light colored interior but was the only option available. Vehicle has plenty of space without being difficult to maneuver/park.

My ford experience... Or so I think

2012 Ford Escape XLS

This vehicle at times can be a big gas guzzlers. I can maybe $10 and 2 days later my gas is gone. Although it does drive nicely it can make a lot of noise. If you go over too many bumps it can start to feel as wear and tear. My steering wheel feels loose, my tire pressure gauge is reading incorrectly. But in the positives it is a smooth & nice clean feel to it. Very nice features for the year. Easy to keep clean

I like the compact but roomy size

2012 Ford Escape XLS

At super reliable with little maintenance. Also it's fuel efficient and compact while still having lots of room for things in the trunk as well as passengers. By far my favorite car I've owned. Fuel efficiency is about 27 miles per gallon. The car also comes equipped with the ford sync system Which allows your smartphone to connect to the car. Very convenient, and I do feel safer having that all set up.

Reliable and comfortable!

2012 Ford Escape XLS

I love the reliability of my Escape. I have owned it for five years now and have had no problems! I love the look and feel of the interior as well. It is spacious enough for my husband and I plus our dog! I find it to be a roomy yet smaller SUV. I especially love how quickly my car heats and cools in comparison to cars I have owned in the past or my husband's car. It cools down and heats up very fast!

The endurance is awesome, The car can take on a lot and is a great travel vehicle.

2012 Ford Escape XLS

When I first purchased the vehicle, not even 3 months in the compressor went out and it was a 1500 fix. Other than that the car has been running really well besides the recurring AC problems with it. The buying process was smooth the engine has been fine just the normal car upkeep (oil change, tire rotation, tune up etc). The overall performance is very good on this vehicle and she is reliable.

Smooth ride and easy handling

2012 Ford Escape XLS

The 2012 Ford Escape is very easy to drive. It travels smoothly on the highway. It has a lot of pick up and go. The ride is very quiet. The split rear seat is very handy for passenger and cargo travel. It is a tight fit if three people are riding in the back. I feel it is a better vehicle for a couple or small family. The interior is comfortable. It is easy to handle and has a smooth ride.

2012 Ford Escape: Great size and lots of space without being too big

2012 Ford Escape XLS

I really love my Ford Escape. It is very roomy without being too large of a car for me to handle. I am short and petite so being easy to handle is important. It seats five and the back seats can go completely flat for lots of space if needed. My car is a 2012 and we bought it used and have not had any issues with it's performance. I also think it is very nice and clean looking.

Great for active families.

2012 Ford Escape XLS

It is a great car for an active family! It is roomy enough to fit all of our camping gear. It handles well in snow and mud. We bought it used so we've had to replace the muffler and starter. The gas mileage is decent for a SUV. We drove it from Illinois to Missouri and then to Door County comfortably and without any problems. Overall we are happy with this vehicle.

Best car I have ever had!

2012 Ford Escape XLS

Had a few mechanical problems right after warranty ended. Dealership was very good at working with me. Had some recalls but Ford was excellent at communicating the issue and resolution. It's a great family car, big enough for hauling some things and for the roads I drive on but not too big to make me feel uncomfortable. It was and is my perfect vehicle

- Sarah W

Good, reliable, safe, comfortable car

2012 Ford Escape XLS

The vehicle is comfortable and reliable. It's large enough to transport large supplies but small enough to still easily maneuver crowded and narrow downtown streets. The only problem I have come across is some minor rusting issues along the area surrounding the rear wheel. After some research, it appears that is a common issue seen with the vehicle.

Ford Escape Perfect For All

2012 Ford Escape XLS

I worked at Enterprise Rent A Car and loved whenever we got a Ford Escape. It was the best SUV that isn't too large. It rides high like a SUV but is compact and can fit into small parking spaces. I am not a fan of crossovers cause they ride more like a car. I like to sit high but be able to slide in and out. I don't have to climb into my Escape.

Ford Escape 2012 back wheel well rust from water collecting in the wheel wells

2012 Ford Escape XLS

We really like this vehicle other than one major problem. It has rusted very badly around the back wheel wells on both sides. Water collects in them as a fault of the design. We have noticed this on many other people's escapes as well. Car looks awful. Other than this we have been very happy with this vehicle. Just looks horrible.

- Vicki G

Love my car, it also drives surprisingly fast

2012 Ford Escape XLS

I really love my Ford Escape! It's been in my family for years, first my dad had it then sold it to my aunt and then she sold the car back to me. It's my first car, and I think it's a great first car for new drivers who are looking for a larger vehicle. There are 3 seats in the back and a very spacious trunk. Love my Ford Escape

Ford Escape - gets the job done

2012 Ford Escape XLS

The feature of the navigation/ sound system/ smart screen sucks. Half the time it does not connect to my phone. It also skips on its own. It is very comfy and I like the moon roof. It has good trunk space. My biggest complaint is the audio feature or whatever it is called. I think SYNC. It needs definite work.

My Ford vacation escape SUV

2012 Ford Escape XLS

I love the feel of my car. Everything time I drive it it's like I'm on vacation. My favorite thing to do when I drive my Ford Escape is going over sidewalks. The wheels are big, thick, and strong, it could handle any curb. I like that it drives nice on long roads. It higher than most cars so I have privacy.

- Veronica C

I love it and would buy this car over and over again!

2012 Ford Escape XLS

The only complaint is that it sucks gas up - however I have had for almost two years and it has not let me down once! I plan to have this car for 10 more years. I really love the backup camera that is in my rear view mirror. I would recommend this car to any young adult looking to purchase their first car.

- Lauren S

Very good gas mileage.I like the cargo area being able to carry a lot.

2012 Ford Escape XLS

Drives really well. No complaints. Myself and my wife is well please with its performance. We do perform regular preventive maintenance. Is getting oil change as I speak. Vehicles is very easy on gas. The gas mileage is very good. I would recommend this vehicle to any small family getting started.

2012 Ford Escape ft. Tranny Issues!

2012 Ford Escape XLS

The car is perfectly reliable and safe. The only issue I have had with the car is the random transmission slipping - which cannot be diagnosed by any dealership. I have taken it to multiple shops and nothing. I wait for the day it finally causes a huge issue for me. Otherwise, cute and fun car.

Good family vehicle for 4

2012 Ford Escape XLS

doesn't have AWD or 4WD..other than that, it's a good family vehicle with good gas mileage. The coolant has a leak which isn't good, so it gets really hot in the summer. It has traveled a lot and is always reliable however. It fits a family of 4, but too small to add another person

- Heather W

Ford Escape- an all around great vehicle, made just right

2012 Ford Escape XLS

Very reliable vehicle, low maintenance, great performance on the road, with my backseat was more spacious but I purchased this before having a child, if I upgrade I would choose a better version of the Ford Escape or Edge. I would like more bells and whistles since mine is a 2012

- Jenna A

I love that it is small but is spacious.

2012 Ford Escape XLS

There were a couple things that needed to be fixed like the air conditioning but that was on a few different escapes as well. There was also a part that got recalled. There is also a strange noise from the car but there isn't anything wrong with it. I haven't had any big issues.

- Abigail A

A nice compact four door, but lots of technical problems

2012 Ford Escape XLS

My AC has not worked for years, all of the car shops I bring it to can figure out what is happening and why it cannot be fixed. I also have recently been experiencing rattling and other strange unexplained sounds that are exacerbated by being in Drive with my foot on the break.

- Haley B

Ford escape My vehicle has a great feature where it climb hills while pedaling.

2012 Ford Escape XLS

My 2012 ford escape has amazing gas miles run it from New York to pa did not even take half a tank. Any other vehicles I have ever had could not take me where my ford escape can. This car is a great family car with a great tow package.I would suggest this car for everyone.

My Escape: no minivan for me

2012 Ford Escape XLS

I love my Ford Escape. It runs smoothly, has great features like Bluetooth, Sunroof, stain resistant seats, and keyless entry! The trunk has enough space for this camping loving family and looks cool for a mom on the go. No minivan for me! I only wish it came with TV's

- Stefanie T

Simply love it would buy another one if had to.

2012 Ford Escape XLS

Very reliable easy on gas n goes great in the snow. Had other SUV but I myself prefer the escapes. Never had a better car and the price was right well worth the asking price. Very nice car for somebody just starting to learn how to drive very simple.

- Mandy M

The ford escape is a good vehicle. It a sunroof, you can order satellite radio.

2012 Ford Escape XLS

My ford escape is to small for my family. What I like about my ford escape is it has a sunroof, and,Bluetooth. It runs good on $30 to fill it up. Let's you know how far driving ( mileage) and if you are low on gas it will tell you how far you can go.

- Vicky V

Not a big SUV

2012 Ford Escape XLS

I have the basic one, seats are nice not the best for long drives. Room is amazing without having to be huge. Only problem i have is it dies randomly when driving.
