The size is great and I like the electric back seats
I like the size. I wish it had better gas mileage and the DVD player broke quickly and is too hard to fix. It drives great
accountCircle Sabrina S
Offers decent durability as far as car shape that is tuff. Can get good gas mileage on highway
I like the space for 8 people to sit, has trunk lift that has a window to also open, sunroof. Downfall it does is a ton of gas Oe
accountCircle Sharon T
Can be used as a work truck, toy hauler, or family vehicle. 6 seats.
I love it because I feel safe when I am driving it.. It is very nice and I love the 3rd row of seating.. It is very dependable and not bad to look at either..
accountCircle Shannon K
When you fold the seats down, you seriously have the capacity of moving things like you would in a truck.
I love how much room it has inside. I love how well it handles, drives very smooth. I love how safe it would be in an accident. I dislike the gas mileage. I dislike parking it in small spaces. I dislike that an SUV costs more on insurance.
accountCircle Nicole W
I like the color it is black. I like the way it drive. I like the seat. I don't really dislike nothing about.
It's good on road trip and the seating. You have leg room.
accountCircle Cass O
Great vehicle for being older.
I love my expedition. It has so much room and very comfortable. I Have the option of six passengers with the three row seating. I usually only use the two rows and have the rest for storage. The vehicle seems to have a lot of legroom, and headroom. My vehicle is pretty basic but that is ok. It is drives very nice and haven't had any sort of problems with it.
accountCircle Alvaro P
Car runs as long as you service it right. Will almost hit 200 thousand miles.
My 2006 has a 5.4 engine which i believe has 300 horsepower in the engine. Love the third row sit. Has a powerful double a/c.
accountCircle Sue M
Reliable and Dependable vehicle.
I absolutely love my Ford Expedition. I have it since 2005 and intend to purchase another when the time comes for a new vehicle. I have had the normal issues with a vehicle and it has always been reliable.

Negative Owner Reviews

I am disappointed in my beast of a vehicle.
When we bought the vehicle we thought we were going to replace the horn the running boards and windshield.-no biggie. Bought it and the brakes need replaced a ball bearing needs replaced a few other minor fixes under the hood as well. We have replaced the alternator. And there is no vent to the third row of seats for heat or air conditioning. Least of all there is no speakers in the rear for my kids to hear the music or audio books I turn on for long distance trips.

Do not be confused it's a Ford.
I like that it gets me to my destinations and back. Also its very sturdy. And I can depend on this car.
accountCircle Sam B
The Ford Explorer features a plethora of room, great for big families.
This car does enough to fit most of the needs we have. It does break down once in a while, but it is overall a good car. The price is what the car is worth, because any problems are easy fixes. The car drives smoothly, and it gets me where I need to go. The gas that it uses up is sort of a disadvantage as it is a six cylinder car. The exterior is pretty clean, and good looking as well.
accountCircle Emily N
The body is going to rust faster than another brand of vehicle.
I like that it can fit my whole family. I do not like that the trunk space is small and it rusts easily.
accountCircle Georgia B
Low mileage expedition but very comfortable.
There are no problems besides the fact that the car only gets 6 miles per gallon because it is so old. It has almost 200,000 miles on it but is still running well. The mileage is the only real problem. The vehicle is comfortable to be in as it has heated seats for when it is cold out.
accountCircle Shana H
Has a great third row seat than can either be used or folded down for extra space.
I haven't had any problems. It drives more like a pickup than a car. Has a lot of space and third row seat.
accountCircle Lenorz L
Great for those who want some extra room for transporting large items
It has separate controls for front and back air control. The heated seats really come in handy during the winter.

While there is lots of room for passengers and items it doesn't get great gas mileage.
I love that there is plenty of room for my two kids and husband and if we have additional people/stuff with us. We travel frequently.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled David L.

It has nearly every option. It also has plenty of power. But, it does like to consume gasoline; about 13 MPG. It has 4-wheel drive, heated and cooled seats, heated rear window and mirrors, CD/AM/FM radio. 3Rd row seating with power roll down seats, Climate control, Saddle leather seats, DVD player for passengers, Power front seating, etc.

likeFilled Destiny M.

This vehicle is very spacious! Great for storage or used as a family vehicle. If you are into systems and loud music this is a great car for you. My favorite part about this the sunroof. Perfect for a sunny day!

likeFilled Adolph A.

It is roomy and comfortable and fits 8. It has a V8 engine which makes it easy to haul a trailer.. It runs great. There are side steps to help you get into the vehicle. The backrests on the rear seats in the third row fold down flat and so there is a potential large trunk space if needed.

likeFilled Reagan E.

The pros are that the car is very spacious, it has lots of cool features, there are movie screens. On the seats, the radio has lots of stations to listen to, and there are seat warmers on almost all the seats.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled David L.

It consumes a lot of gasoline (13 MPG), has a long wheel base, 17 inch tires are expensive, an oil change requires 7 quarts, and the fonts seats are hard to adjust to get that 'just right feel'. And, it is hard to parallel park.

dislikeFilled Destiny M.

I have had a few electrical issues is the vehicle. Gas is an absolute killer! Basically plan on spending half the amount of miles you go in gas! Because the truck is very big and wide there's a lot of blind spots in while driving it, making driving hard.

dislikeFilled Adolph A.

It is a large vehicle and so you can not fit into any tight parking spots. It runs on a V8 engine which means that the miles per gallon are not that great, but I expect that it is similar to other vehicles with a V8 engine. There are few cons for this vehicle - since it is built well and looks and runs well.

dislikeFilled Reagan E.

Some cons of the vehicle are that you cannot pull into small parking spaces because the car is a little large, it does not get great gas mileage, it is expensive to fill up with gas, and lastly, there is not a whole lot of storage space in the very back.

Absolutely. We bought this used in 2011 and have replaced the transmission. Overall not many issues considering it was used.
Faith C.

How Reliable Is The 2006 Ford Expedition?

Yes it is a reliable vehicle. I use it 5 or 6 days per week and it is great. I had to replace the catalytic converters, but is ok since then.
Adolph A.
Yes it is very reliable since we are the first private owners we just now had to do maintenance repairs and it never ever broke down on us just out of the blue. Very sturdy car.
Cassandra G.
Up until the transmission went out, yes it was reliable. Once we had that replaced which was about 7 years ago the alternator just went but that was it.
Danae B.

Is The 2006 Ford Expedition A Good Value?

When I bought it as a used vehicle in 2015 it cost $7000.00 which in my opinion was a good value, since most of the others I saw were older years for around the same price.
Adolph A.
Yes very good value since we purchased it in 2014 at a cost of $10 k for a 8 year old car I say that is a very good value especially with the low mileage it had on it as well.
Cassandra G.
We financed right about $20k. I have no idea what the book value is right now but I'd imagine right around 8k.
