2006 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer.
My vehicle has great features like navigation, DVD player, quad seating, etc. However the engine has a lag in it when taking off. Gas mileage is similar to a truck so it is costly. There's no trunk space if the two rear seats are being used. On a positive note, it is a sturdy vehicle. I hit a deer with it and still drive it as my daily driver without any work being done to it.

People should be well aware of the issues regarding the transmission slipping.
All of the door handles are having issues pulling open. The transmission is slowly going out as well. When I researched this issue I found out it is common with the fords.

2006 ford explorer Eddie Bauer edition.
Best SUV I have ever owned. The Eddie Bauer edition is awesome. Sunroof, heated seats, 6 CD changer, automatic seat adjuster, 3Rd row seat so it seats 7. It is a 2006 but everything is still working fine. I think if it ever dies it will be like losing a best friend for me.

My car is a true blessing for me and my family. I am so thankful for this car.
The main thing that is wrong with my car is that it is high on miles, but other than that it's a great car for me and my family. I have to get more tires and get my oil changed. It runs like a champ. I wouldn't trade my car for nothing in the world. It took me and my family all the way to Utah and back.

It is a great, reliable, vehicle. It is perfect for a family and seats seven people. It is awesome during a snowy winter.

Ford Explorer great vehicle with few repair costs.
The only issue I have had with this vehicle is the lighted display on the radio has gone out. If you press on the radio display the light comes on and will stay on for a short while. Repair is costly as the entire dash has to be removed. Other than this issue I have had no other repair costs other than regular maintenance.

That it do not have very good gas mileage.
The vehicle I own is a 2006 Ford explorer. It's actually been a really good vehicle. I do not really hate the make or model of the vehicle. It has actually been pretty reliable over the years. I just hate it because its getting old and I need a new vehicle. It's just old and beginning to have problems, I have had to replace the alternator twice in the last 3 yrs. And it's starting to have a oil leak. Not sure what is all wrong with it other than its old. My boyfriend has been driving it to work for the last five yrs. A hour there and a hour back home. So I thinks its been a pretty good vehicle and reliable. So I would have to say I would own a newer model of one. The only reason I hate it is that its getting old and even though it still drives, I do not feel that it is all that reliable anymore I would just like to upgrade.

Great car. Bought it for the fwd. It's great in the snow. It does over heat from time to time. We bought the car used but it's lasted us over 2 years so far.

Ford Explorer- Can get through anything
Ford Explorer is a great family vehicle! It seats up to 7 with a lot of space. The seats in the back can stay up or fold down for more room and storage. Drives really smooth and can get through anything. If you live in the Midwest, or where it snows, it is a great car to get through the snow. It has 4WD and is invisible.

I never had a Ford before, but I'm glad I bought this one.
I like my Ford explorer. It rides smoothly, runs really well. It has over 200,000 miles, but still is in very good condition. I have had no problems with it. I bought it used. Gas mileage is good I think. Let's me know when my tires are low or when I need to change the oil. I enjoy going on trips, the ride is very comfortable.

The review of the Ford Explorer
It's very reliable, comfortable, and roomy. I wish it had a true 3rd row. We never use the 3rd row, because there isn't a real comfortable way to get back there, and it's cramped back there.

The car is in really good condition. The car is six cylinders so I do need to get gas very often but other than that the car is fantastic. The car is very comfortable and have a very good radio. The seats are really nice to sit in and is very nice to relax in while on a road trip

Old Blue the reliable explorer which loves back
I love that my Ford Explorer has been so reliable throughout the past 13 years I have owned this vehicles. I have never doubted the vehicle and I have over 223,000 miles on the vehicles as of today and have a goal of getting to 300,000 if possible. Just keep the oil clean and new tires when needed and everything has been awesome.

2006 Ford Explorer with V8
Vehicle is generally reliable, but has heat sensor issue if push engine hard before warmed up. It is comfortable to drive and to ride, and has good handling in snow and ice. V8 and tow package allow for towing medium size/weight camping trailer. Gets about 18 MPG driving 8 miles to work and back 5 days a week.

Uses twice as much gas as my Expedition! If you can afford to put gas in an Explorer then you can easily afford an Expedition!!!
I traded my Expedition for an Explorer thinking I would save on gas! OMG, this Explorer uses gas like an 18 wheeler!!! I have to fill it up 2-3 times a week!!! My Expedition was so much better on gas! I love a Ford and that is all I would buy forever! But, never an Explorer again!!! Gas is at a good price and I paid cash however I may as well have a monthly payment because of the gas! I have had it one month and I want my Expedition back! Expedition is the best vehicle all the way around!!! I am almost 70 years old and retired not like I am driving to to work 5 days a week. I would get rid of it if I had to use it every day!!! But!!! Ford is the best and wouldn’t buy anything else! Anyone else have problems with rust? Speakers? Screaming Sensors? It still looks new and drives like it’s brand new! I do love it but I could buy another car with what I spend on gas!!! Love your Ford and it will love you back but just go for it and get an Expedition because it never needed anything but an oil change and regular tuneups! Good tires!

The Only Vehicle For Me!!
I absolutely love my Ford Explorer. It's an incredibly reliable vehicle that's both attractive and practical for everyday life. It's easy to drive and maintain also, though I wish some of the parts weren't so expensive. I bought my Explorer used in 2011, (it's a 2006) but it has taken good care of me and come in very handy for several long distance moves. If I ever get another vehicle it will definitely be another Explorer!

It is very roomy and has been a great family car. People need to know that the computer is the best I've seen in a long time, on other vehicles. The way this thing is running I think it's going to last us a long time.
I got my vehicle about 8 years ago and since we have been keeping up on the maintenance the vehicle now has 200,000 miles. It still runs like it did when I bought it in 2011. I like that the computer is always right. There are many vehicles that have computers that are not accurate with the gas to empty, tire pressure, etc. I also LOVE, the third row seats.

The middle row where you gain access to the third row lift up and out of the way.
A big thing for me is that it doesn't have a CD player. I have a lot of kids so I love how middle row allows great access to the third row. Truck could be a bit bigger. After the kids bags are in my suitcase has to squeeze between to kids. Love the door cup holders. Not a big fan of only being able to unlock the truck on the driver side.

I have had hardly any problems with my ford. This car has been in my family for going on 13 years. It runs great and is so comfortable. The four wheel drive is awesome and it drives like a dream in icy conditions. It will keep you safe in the event of an accident. I have been (minorly) rear-ended twice and it kept me safe both times. Ford Explorer Sport Trac adrenalin edition 2006.
Ford Explorer Sport Trac adrenalin edition 2006- sunroof, automatic back window, heated seats in the front. Performs great, has been a family vehicle for 6/10 years we've owned it. Has had one transmission replaced due to a coolant leak but is taken care of very well besides that. Very little amount of rust. Slightly loud, just needs muffler replaced.

If you plan to keep an explorer over 5 years, plan on having to deal with a faulty transmission.
I love my Ford Explorer, this is my 3rd one, however, with every one we have had transmission problems. The years we have owned are 1995, 2000, and 2006. Wish Ford would do something about their transmissions on this vehicle.

Don't expect repairs to be easy to do yourself.
I like the silver color and that it is a 4x4 which is needed because we get lots of snow. I don't like that when something goes wrong, the manufacturer made it almost impossible to fix things yourself. GRRRR! The heater element went out, fix would require removing half of the engine to repair. Does not make the consumer happy.

Great. Value, durable and dependable vehicle.
Very reliable vehicle. I have had very few problems with it and it has held up very well over the years. The trim package was adequate for my needs and it has been fun to drive. It now has over 204000 miles on it and it is still going strong. It is starting to show its age but for over 11 years it really looked good. I have had it for over 13 years now and will keep it until it completely breaks down which may be a while yet with how well it is running. I have been completely happy with my 2006 ford explorer. The interior is light beige and through a light color, it has not stained or blotched over the years. The cloth has held up well as has the carpet on the floorboards. The sound system has functioned well and continues to operate as it should. The suspension has held up well too. I have never had to have the shocks or struts replaced though it would probably improve the ride a bit after so many years. The engine is still running strong and it seems like it will for a while yet. Aside from regular maintenance, my explorer has needed few repairs. I have had to replace the windshield due to a rock hit that caused the glass to crack. All the electronics., lights, electric windows and door locks have held up well and continue to work. Some of the exterior trim pieces are starting to work loose but are still attached. It has been a great purchase and a vehicle I would consider again.

2006 Ford Explorer highlights.
I love that the vehicle is an SUV but it is not too big. It is perfect for myself, my husband and two boys. Plenty of room for luggage and essentials when travelling. It is a comfortable ride and since it is the Eddie Bauer package, there are many upgraded features, including the exterior appearance. My ford explorer is a really nice and comfortable family vehicle, smooth driving, and comfortable riding. The sun roof is awesome, and really like the kid locks on the windows and doors. However, we've had issues with the wheel bearings, and electronic gauge indicator and radiator lately, the gauges went haywire on us, blinking and dinging out of control, just out of the blue, all of this started immediately when we replaced the tires. Had to replace radiator, and wheel bearings, also later on. But other than this, we love the vehicle.

Coolant leaking, but even mechanic says they cannot find where the leak is coming from. It is comfortable, but wish the third row had a little more floor space it is pretty cramped back there. It is a long lasting car, great durability. It has not failed me in the reliability department, even on its last legs it still has a lot of kick, but after some repairs that were not as pricey as similar repairs on different vehicles that I have had, it is runs like a new car.

Great gas mileage for an suv
I like the 4 wheel drive. It has enough room for my whole family, including animals. It's a perfect size and has good gas mileage.

Ford Explorer--I love my SUV!
It has a smooth ride. It has always had synthetic oil and it has never had an engine problem. Could be a little more fuel efficient (17 mpg city). It is a big vehicle, but it does not have extended blind spots because it has more windows than my last car did. I get pretty much a 360 degree view when I need to.

It is perfect for families its safe for kids.
It has all the bells and whistles that I wanted in a car.. My kids love the DVD player.. I love that I can choose the different terrain.

I like the space available in the car, allowing me to transport family and pets. I don't like the mpg because it seems low. It has been very reliable
My dog loves riding in it and it gives him enough space to lie down comfortably.

The headrests are comfortably situated.
My vehicle is comfortable but you can feel each speed bump. I like the height of the vehicle and it is not noisy. The vehicle picks up quickly but it is not good on gas mileage. The door handles are a very attractive feature of the vehicle and make it look very modern.

That it has lasted a long time without fail and will last a lot more time before i get a new one.
I like the roomy interior and how the second row of seats folds over. The only thing i dislike is that it can be a little tough or heavy to handle. I like being up and over everything or more simply riding high which you can't do in a car.

It's great, family friendly, and long lasting
It's been working for several years and it's still going strong. So it's been highly reliable in that standard. Comfort is mixed, seats are terrible for hot days as they'll be burning you while your sitting. But other than that there's no problems. Performance is great, we took it to the snow once (of course with the necessary chains needed) and it worked great

Ford explorer, four wheel drive selection preferred to all wheel drive.
The biggest problem I had with my explorer so far was leaking transmission hoses going to the radiator. I live out in a rural area (farm) and the explorer is essential in the winter. The part I like is that I can choose between the 4x4 I like instead of all wheel drive.

When my back pain starts up I'll go sit outside in the seat and it feels great.
The Ford Explorer is a really nice car in my opinion. The stock car seats are firm and comfortable made with a cotton like material. It also has a good amount of space in it. Even sitting in the back seats are comfortable because of the width of the seats.

I love that it is 4 wheel drive and still fit well in most parking spots.
I love my Eddie Bauer Explorer. It is comfortable, dependable and stylish. This is the 3rd Explorer I have owned. A common problem between the three are bearing problems. For some reason, the bearings seem to start going bad about 125, 000 miles. The other problem I have encountered is the transmission but that does not start until about 180, 000 miles. It starts shifting rough. I usually trade them in close to 300, 000 miles but they still look and perform great!

I feel safe when driving it, because it allows me to see around me.
I love it mostly. It sits higher than a car. Fun to drive. Great in snow. Over all great vehicle. Hard to make repairs yourself.

Attractive and keeps its body and interior easy to maintain.
Easy to service, safe and comfortable. I love the ability to make short and long trips. Gas mileage is good on the open road. Lots of storage. CD player always seems to have problems and gas mileage is not great in the city. It transports up to 8 people safely.

My mom bought it and it is still in good condition.
It was a vehicle passed on from my mom before she died. It was very dependable.

It is the perfect all around vehicle for moving stuff, packing the family and pets into and all around amazing driving experience
I like it because it's big and roomy for my family and pets. It is the funnest vehicles that I've ever owned, I love driving it in. It is also a safer vehicle so I'm not as worried about accidents especially since I have a new born, which again space space space

It's very reliable and maintenance costs are reasonable.
Great car. Good view, decent gas mileage. Dislikes, it's old now.
accountCircle Brittany M on March 16, 2020
It has a 6 CD changer. Drives pretty smooth.
It been great. Currently cannot drive it because the timing chains broke. And for some reason we have to constantly change our tires because the rims pop holes. It does do great on miles. Kind of wish the back seats were back just a few inches because fitting car seats in it is not the best.
