Just the right size: Ford Explorer does the job to carry 7 people in style.

At first I thought it might be too big since I have never had a SUV but once I took a test drive I saw that it is not as big off the ground as I thought; in other words, I thought SUVs were gigantic trucks. Two things I do not like about it is (1) the head rests on the 3rd row at first made it hard for me to see through back window; they shouldn't had made them so high; but now I am used to it and can see good; I do not like the headrest on passenger's seat that is in front with driver because sometimes it is uncomfortable to passengers and I have to tell them to incline the seat for more comfort. The next thing that is a problem is the lever that you must pull to flatten the second row so someone can get to the third row. It can be hard; it recently broke because it is too hard to pull so it broke off; now we have to either go through the other side which is not broken to get to third row or pull the strap that is located on the back of the 2nd row chair by reaching our hands back; and of course, that is not easy. Overall I am very pleased with our car and would buy it again.

Not my favorite vehicle I've ever owned. It is expendable

The blind spots in my vehicle are horrendous. The car on the outside is huge the inside is not very spacious. There is no space in the front to put anything a cell phone, purse, ect. The blinkers are super loud and annoying. it almost feels like you have to break off the handle in order to get the blinkers set. The bluetooth has never worked well. when you ask the phone to make a phone call it calls the wrong person most of the time. When you try to hang up the phone it does not hang up and you cannot cancel it. It just holds on the line for the longest time, sometimes longer than five minutes. The heated seats heap up fast but I wish it would heat my back aslo. When you use the remote start it does not turn on the heater, defrost, or the air, it only turns on the engine.

2013 ford explorer. 3rd row. Heather seats. Leather interior. Xlt.

I love my explorer! We have 4 kids and I wanted something big with 3rd row but not so huge it'd drink gas and be hard to drive. This was the best vehicle for the price! I love having the 3rd row and still having storage space in the back. The heated seats are a plus. It is amazing on gas and super low maintenance. We keep it in check every 3-4 months and have never had a problem with it in the 3 years of having it! I wanted leather seats due to having kids, other than a little hot in the summer, there are no complaints. Very spacious dependable ride. This is the longest I have ever kept a vehicle because it is just a great SUV and I haven't had any reason to trade out like with my last SUV's.

A mom's point of view for a Ford Explorer.

I love my Explorer except that when I read it was a limited I thought it meant it had all the bells and whistles, it does not. It's more of a base model limited edition, it does not have a sunroof but has leather seats, it does not have a heated steering wheel but has the touch screen and heated seats. There are a few other features it does not include so make sure you check yours out to be sure. It is great in the snow and on gas and you can easily get car seats in and out it as well. One other thing it does not have a light in the back hatch which is a bummer when you're looking for something at night. It drives extremely smooth as well.

Great in the snow, fast out of the gate and quite comfortable to drive

My explorer has hands down been the most up to date tech and performance SUV. We live in an area that requires 4WD or automatic AWD. I've have been quite impressed with how the Explorer navigates snow, slush and ice with a standard 22' tire, not an M+S snow tires. I've come to call the explorer my 'snow dog' and when the weather gets dicey I put my wife in it and I drive the expedition (also a die hard snow, towing and rough terrain work horse) I just rolled 70k on the explorer and it is as agile and fast performance as the day I pulled it off the dealers lot. As much as any performance costs I will not hesitate to buy another explorer.

Comfortable for both myself and my teenage children.

I have had this car for five year and have had absolutely no problems other than normal wear and tear. It currently has 126,000 miles on it, and it still drives good. It has the technology that my teens enjoy such as bluetooth and a backup camera. It has three rows of seating for when guests ride with us, and there's plenty of legroom for all. . We are also capable of laying the third seat down and having lots of storage for groceries, shopping bags, ball bags, and more. On a cold morning, I also enjoy the heated seats. This is my favorite of all the cars I have purchased. I plan to keep it for many years to come.

- April M

My car has so much spacious room for kids, friends or hauling things around.

My vehicle is the most reliable vehicle I have ever had. It does not make that loud roaring noise like my old cars use to. The air is super cold all the time. There are so many power ports to plug in cell phones and other items to always stay connected with family. I love the Bluetooth feature and the back up camera. I am really bad at backing up and this car makes it a breeze. The camera is so clear and accurate but I still check to make sure but it sees around cars when parked diagonally on a busy street, it is a lot of help. My car is so reliable and I think I will keep it for as long as I can.

Our Explorer runs and drives excellent.

It is comfortable, reliable and looks good! We have never had any problems. We got the full package and loved all the extras. We’re Ford buyers and will continue to be from now on. Ford seems to Focus on not only a good looking car but one that runs and drives well. Their customer service has been great! We know we can depend on this vehicle because the company has been around for a long time! From time to time we have thought about buying other brands but always come back to Ford. If we ever have a problem we know that it will be fixed and we can rely on that.

Ford Explorer Wonderful SUV with great features.

I have a 2013 Ford Explorer. It is a great SUV. It drives really well. I get decent gas mileage. I love that it has 3 rows. The 2nd row has TVs in headrest so my kids can keep busy on long trips. I do like that the 2nd row seats flip up so we can get access to the back seat. I also in enjoy the lights in the car near your feet. They change colors. A few weeks ago, my SUV started having problems. I have to replace the transmission which is going to set me back 5K. Very disappointing. I decided to fix the transmission instead of trading it in because I like my SUV.

Why I do not like my Ford Explorer, but would recommend to others.

I own a 2013 Ford Explorer. I really like the car features and the way it drives. It is my husband's old company car, so we didn't have to pay much for it which is the reason we got it. I do not like it for our family, because we have 3 kids. It is too cramped for three kids. One of my children always has to crawl over the middle row to buckle up. This usually results in a fight between children. This is the only reason I do not like the vehicle, however it is a major reason. I would definitely recommend this vehicle for a family with two kids or less.

- Emily B

2013 Ford Explorer is the perfect family car with lots of seats & lots of room.

I own a 2013 Ford Explorer, I purchased this vehicle because of our family expanding. This vehicle has a very large touch screen radio. Also, comes with SYNC activation so texting or changing the song on the radio is simple. The steering wheel is also equipped to change the radio or answer your phone. This vehicle seats 7 people, comfortably. I have actually placed 3 car seats in the center row and had a kid in the back and everyone was very comfortable. Also, placing the back seats down, it can easily hold a stroller, suitcase, diaper bag and purse.

- Lindsey D

This is a perfect car ideal for any situation.

The car rides smooth. I feel safe and protected while driving. Its spacious for my family and perfect for road trips. The seats can fold down and create a larger trunk space if needed to haul larger things. The back opening however is quite small and getting wide items can sometimes be difficult. The dashboard is neat and not overwhelming with buttons. The rear view camera is extremely helpful and accurate. Overall it's a great car and would definitely be interested in purchasing a new model once this one has given its all.

- Ruth H

This car is great for large families.

I love my Explorer, with three kids and two dogs it has enough room for everyone. We also have enough room to fit a huge car seat in the back seat. Runs great. Is not bad on gas. Is great for long trips. We take 4 hour trips often to see family and everyone is happy and comfortable. The only thing I do not like is the way the seats fold down to get to the third row. All the do is fold down and you have to climb on top of the seat. Most of the time the kids just crawl through the back.

- Julie K

Ford explorer is a great dependable vehicle

The explorer is comfortable and drives well. There are no blind spots which is nice. The features such as heated seats and a sunroof that stretches over the back seat is also nice. My vehicle has the third row seats which fold up and down easily. The auto lift gate is a convenient feature. I have had some issues with water leaking in through the sunroof and also had the sunroof malfunction and the motor had to be replaced. Other than that I have had no issues with the vehicle.

- Anna W

The 2013 Ford Explorer a good car for a family.

The 2013 Ford Explorer XLT is an attractive car. It is comfortable and roomy. Also, having the ability to make phone calls and change the radio or temp in the vehicle by voice command is pretty neat though as a shorter driver, I find that I need to speak pretty loudly for the speaker to hear what I am saying accurately. It is a pretty reliable car, but I find its performance to be about average, and over time, the cabin of the vehicle starts to show some obvious wear.

- Abby R

I Love my Ford Explorer XLT

Powerful vehicle with decent gas mileage (18-19 mpg mostly country driving). Has the normal maintenance issues with any 4wd/AWD vehicle. Ball joints/wheel bearings wear out quick and when 1 tire goes you often have to replace all 4 to keep from destroying your AWD system. Drives/rides like the Taurus as both have the same undercarriage as one another but you get the height of a truck. 2nd and 3rd rows drop down to give you similar space of a truck.

- Jim G

Enjoy the backup camera & love the unique programmable interior features.

It is been a great vehicle to have. However, the longer we have it, the more things are starting to go wrong with it, cosmetically wise mostly. The glove box has fallen off for no apparent reason, the Bluetooth radio does not always connect properly and we've been told it is a battery issue when it is very clear it is not, just little plastic cover pieces keep coming off of things on the inside. Other than that, it is been a very reliable vehicle.

- Jamie C

I love the size and comfort of the Ford Explorer.

Gives us plenty of room for extra people or luggage. We get decent gas mileage. I like that my phone hooks up to car so I can answer phone without having it in my hand. I love the leather seats and especially the seat warmers. We have not had any expensive issues with the car. I like being able to control the heat for the driver and passenger. I like that it tells me when my gas supply is low and it tells me how many miles to empty.

- Debra B

Great vehicle for families.

The 2013 ford explorer has a smooth ride and plenty of space to fit your family and all of their gear. 7 seats to hold everyone, rear plug for cell phone charging, rear climate control, 7 cup holders so everyone has a place for their drinks, many options up front for climate and radio controls. Also equipped with basics like cruise control and outside temperature reading. The only thing missing is a digital compass and heated seats.

- Chuck M

I had to learn to compensate for the low visibility by looking around more and depending heavily on the backup camera.

There are only 2 things I dislike about the vehicle. The limited visibility takes a lot of getting used to, and I have to reach up an over the door and then down to the tube at the bank. I love all the "bells and whistles" such as the adaptive cruise control, and the GPS that notifies me when there's a crash ahead; I just wish the notification was able to provide more detailed and accurate info, sometimes it's old information.

- Dawn B

It is a good car for a family of 5 or more.

I bought my Ford because we have a growing family and needed the third row to give everyone space while traveling. I really love the backup camera and the way I can connect my phone to the stereo to listen to Pandora. The only thing I dislike is that there is not much of a trunk if I use all 3 rows of seats and the windows are a little high up so it is hard for me to reach out of car at drive thru or bank window.

2013 Ford Explorer - Kodiak brown.

This SUV is amazing, I have a large family and we have a couple toddlers so there is plenty of room for everyone to fit and to have the car seats and it still be comfortable. My fiance' is 6 foot and he fits in it just fine without worry of hitting his head. It gets great gas mileage when taking long cross country drives and does very well in the city too. We usually only have to fill it up once every two weeks.

- Crystal L

It is a really good family car.

I like that it has a third row seat that can be used or it can be folded down so there is space for the stroller or groceries. I love having a backup camera as memory seats. I also love my heated seats option. I also like that I can connect my phone to the car to answer or call hands free by voice command. I do get a little frustrated sometimes when the voice commands don't work, but it's a good safety feature.

- Lena L

Nice features and spacing, but do not adjust the seats often.

Overall I like the quality and comfort of the car. It is spacious for both seating and storage. The third row of seats configures into a few positions allowing for convenient loading of various size items. It also has nice features such as built in satellite radio and rear view camera. The biggest negative is the seats can be difficult to return to a comfortable position after another driver has moved the seat.

- William F

Hands down, I love this SUV.

This car has been perfect for our family of four. I wanted an SUV that had the option of a third row seat without being huge like a suburban. It's the perfect size. Not too big, not too small. We have the sport trim which I like because it's a bit rugged and has that get up and go. Oh and we have the second row captains seats which are clutch in convenience to accessing the third row. Great car all around.

- Ashley M

The wonders of the Ford Explorer.

I love my Ford Explorer!! I have wonderful leather seats so that I can clean them easily. I have the third seat that allows for all 5 of the grandchildren to go with us. I also love the light in the side mirrors that let me know if a car or truck is in my blind spot. I also chose the cam for backing up and it lets me know if a vehicle is coming and when backing up how close I am to the curb or vehicle.

- Virginia R

For a big vehicle I still average 20 miles per gallon.

My vehicle is very easy to use. The setup for the 4x4 is geared towards women and is easy to distinguish. Leather interior makes it easy to clean up especially having children in the vehicle. The third row seating is very convenient and easy to adjust the seats up and down. Makes grocery shopping or hauling off things much easier when I can lay the back seats down. I highly recommend the ford explorer.

- Courtney W

Ford’s expanding Explorer.

The performance of this vehicle is extremely reliable. I have never had any problems with things like the engine or breaks. The ride is very comfortable and the gas mileage is outstanding for the size of this SUV. The car comes equipped with three rows in the base model, in more updated versions has backup cameras and it is GPS compatible. The vehicle also supports apple carplay in newer models.

- Bonnie G

As good as any luxury nameplate.

I love my Explorer more than I thought I would. I previously owned a 1997 model and wow have they changed. I love the technology Ford has put into this vehicle-sync is great for streaming music from my phone, the auto park is great for those unsure of their parallel parking skills, but my favorite is the adaptive cruise control. It will adjust speed to match a slower vehicle in front of you.

- Kent H

I love the heated leather seats. The large size of the navigation screen nice.

I love the heated seats. Large back up camera and navigation. Leather is better than cloth seats. Third row is nice, but I have only used it once. It stays folded down for cargo space. I also like the controls on the wheel. I like the fact what I can access all controls with my voice. I do need to update the navigation maps, not sure how but will google it or you tube it to figure it out.

- Danielle B

Tight fitting with two car seats

The car is nice for one car seat, but when you add a second one, it gets a little tight. It also makes it hard to access the third row. I wish that the access to the third row wasn't so hard to get to and that you didn't have to fold the second row seats over. I love the space of the trunk when the third row is folded down. It is nice that the third row is securely folded down flat.

- Jennifer G

The 3rd row and ecoboost engine are our favorite features.

The explorer sport is great for us and our kids. We have 3 who all do sports and it makes carpooling a breeze. The ecoboost engine is reliable, even when towing our camper. The vehicle is a good mix of sporty but luxurious and definitely comes with great features. The fuel mileage is comparable to other full size SUVs. We will be purchasing another explorer once this one is older.

- Jori N

Great features, space, and highly recommended for large families.

I love driving this vehicle really safe, and large to fit all my family members. I have very minor issues with it. Though they do not take away from the overall positive experience I have driving the vehicle. It has extendable back seat which is really useful depending on who I have in the vehicle. It has a backing up system that is useful being a bit larger of a vehicle to drive.

- Tiffany R

I love that the third row folds down into the floor.

Performance. When driving, it does not go as fast as I would like it to. Almost as if the drivers pedal has a few seconds delay before we can really take off. I purchased a full second row, which does not work with two car seats. The two car seats are too bulky to sit next to each other and it is a hassle to put flip the car side seat to get to the toddler seat in the third row.

- Tia W

light on side mirrors that comes on if you have a vehicle in your blind spot

Very impressed with the look of the vehicle especially since it's a 2013. It looks brand new. There is a recall out on the rear tow suspension that needs to be serviced. We recently had a wheel bearing replaced but the vehicle is 6 years old. Itbis sporty with a lot of pep. Mostly digital with a great sound system. The DVD entertainment system doesn't work which is a bummer

- Sarah K

Ford Explorer review-great reliable vehicle.

My Ford Explorer limited is very comfortable and has many modern features. I love the pushed button starter so I do not have to worry about digging for my keys all the time. The 2nd row bucket seats are comfortable for the kids and they have their own console. The Explorer is a reliable vehicle and has had very problems. Ford covered the problems under warranty.

- Tammy K

Great comfort but no power

The front end makes a lot of noise and so does the engine. There just isn't enough power in the motor for such a heavy vehicle. Mountains are terrible for the motor and transmission. The comfort of the car is great, I wouldn't get it for more than a family of four even though it has a third row. Once the third row is up, there's not much room for anything else.

- Nicole O

It is comfortable and rides great.

I would have backed into so many things without the backup camera. The hands free device is great. The ability to have dual controls for the climate control is priceless. There was an issue with one of the drain holes to the sunroof becoming clogged, which caused water to leak inside. There is also currently an issue with the windshield wipers not turning off.

- Theresa G

There is plenty of room for three car seats to fit in the middle row

I like that it has three rows of seating and the back seats can fold down for extra storage. I like that it had heated seats and easy to use dash system. It drives smooth also. My only complaint is that the sensor to shift my car into park doesn't always work and the key fob doesn't always lock the car when I press the button, even after changing the battery.

- Carrie L

Great technology features and spacious 3rd row option SUV.

The only complaint I have on my xts is the rear view. It is obstructed when the third row headrests are up and it's a bit wide. Let's just say I have hit a few curbs. I drove it from Maryland to New York with no issues. It has been very reliable and low maintenance. I love the technology features. It's comfortable for me and my 3 children, even on road trips.

- Kia J

With young children, make sure you get a pass through second row. Even if you do, keep in mind the cargo space is limited to a stroller and groceries will need to be packed in throughout the floorboards of the vehicle.

I love the way my car drove when I first bought it. It needs some maintenance right now which includes from struts which I'm not too happy about considering the age of the car. The check engine light randomly comes on and goes off. I don't like that it is not a pass through second row. I love the sync technology, and all the options of the limited series.

- Brittany R

Great vehicle for a reasonable price.

It is spacious, fits 7 easily. . . 8 in a pinch. The seating is pretty easy to manipulate for access or different configurations. The best part is the smooth overall ride. The transmission is extremely smooth through acceleration. The different traction control or terrain settings are cool. The gas mileage is not very good. But normal for a full size SUV.

- Steve G

The back seats fold down to make a completely flat surface.

I have had no problems with my 2013 ford explorer. It drives great in both the summer and winter months. I have been very impressed with how well it does on the snowy days and icy roads. For being an SUV, it gets great gas mileage. I typically get around 20-22 miles per gallon. I have had this car for over two years and am still very impressed with it.

- Emily M

The Ford explorer is the only way to go

It's not too big so that makes it good on gas. Also it has a third row seat which makes it good just in case we have others riding with us. It has really good gas mileage and doesn't cost a arm and a leg to fill up the gas tank. It also has a rear view camera which makes it easy to see if a small animal or small child may be behind you when backing up

- Ben L

For a compact SUV it has good control and handling.

My car was bought used from my father who got it new as a company car. It has over 200,000 miles on it so that makes me nervous. It's never had any issues until I got it which I assume is because of the mileage. 2 weeks in the catalytic converter broke and cost $1,000 to replace. Other than that it is just expensive in gas. $40 gets you 312 miles.

- Nathan W

Very sporty and stylish very roomy and comfy.

I love the sport package that this SUV offers I love the back bucket seats in the fall down fifth row makes getting in and out very easy the hatch back lifts up and closes with the push of a button which is also a great feature the back seats have so much legroom I love the interior looks of this vehicle probably my favorite vehicle of all times.

- Michelle Y

All around great car anyone should enjoy driving.

This car is very comfortable to drive and ride in. I have no complaints and have been very happy with it. The only issue at all that I have is with the second row seating. I babysit my grandchildren and sometimes I have two car seats in the second row. The middle seat on the second row is narrow and I cannot put two car seats beside each other.

- Teresa N

All purpose vehicle that meets your every need.

The Ford Explorer is a great SUV. It will hold up to seven people and it has a large cargo area. It has several different modes of driving in different kinds of weather. I feel safer in snow by being able to put it in four wheel drive. Most of the time I drive it in the regular driving mode. You just have to turn a knob to change driving modes.

- Carol D

Highly reliable and comfortable.

My Explorer is an ex-police vehicle. While it is high in mileage for a 2013 vehicle (170k) it still runs fantastically and I have had no major mechanical problems. The one annoyance is the lack of reliability in the tire pressure sensors. They break easily and give you a warning every time you drive. Other than this, fantastic reliable vehicle.

- Austin B

Love the remote start on my explorer

I've had my explorer for almost 2 years and I love it. I like the heated seats, the remote start and the back up sensor. My only issue is that just a few months after getting the vehicle the back up camera stopped working. Otherwise we love the space, the rack on top of the vehicle. We have 3 kids and two dogs so we definitely need space.

- Alyssa C

The fact that the mirrors are set up to accompany the more difficult blind spot.

The vehicle has no major problems. The Explorer is extremely reliable and is consistent on gas mileage. The comfort is great in the 2013 base model, but with the newest models coming out every year the car has gotten more and more comfortable. The only slight issue I have with this vehicle is that the blind spot is a bit larger than most.

- Bonnie G

Very spacious and comfortable ride.

I enjoy my car because it is spacious and comfortable. It is a very smooth ride and I have had very little problems since I purchased it. My car has been reliable and safe to drive on a daily basis. I use this car as my primary vehicle because it is dependable, comfortable to ride in and has plenty of space to meet my family's needs.

- Sara P

Luxury ride for modern families.

Great car! Decent gas mileage. Comfortable ride and very roomy. Pretty reliable, no serious issues, just maintenance. Love that it has two sunroofs. And love that it has a third row seat. Very safe. I feel secure knowing that the back seats have inflatable seat belts. Great sound system, Sony. I do not like the blind spots though.

- Karen S

Ford explorer poor quality.

Rpms are not in sync with speed and seems to take a while to kick into speed. The sunroof allows wind noise when it is closed. . Engine light is on all the time even after service. Engine is quite loud when driving on the highway compared to our other vehicles. The company brand not interested in assisting in the vehicles issues.

- Jennifer W

Explore wonderful for families

I love my car. It is very comfortable and very easy on gas. It has good gas mileage. Also I often have up to 6 grandkids with me. It is very easy to get them all in and out of the car. I love the backup camera. I also love that I can get satellite radio. It's really convenient to have a push button on the key to raise the hatch.

- Teresa D

It is a love hate thing, with a smooth ride.

The glove dept makes this clicking noise when I turn off the car. The rubber under grill unlatches like everyday. Had the have a lot of work done to the car. With all that said the car is still pretty good. As long as you make sure your car is in tip top shape and you it is a very reliable car. And good at tugging things around.

- Jasmine R

A Ford explorer is a safe vehicle.

I like that I feel safe driving my family in this vehicle and that it offers a smooth ride. My vehicle was wrecked once shortly after purchasing it, the damage was repaired and you cannot tell. I had a Toyota before and after it was wrecked you could definitely tell after driving it that it had previously been in an accident.

- Amy L

It has real control of the ac. Honestly a great feature.

Very reliable, doesn't waste much gas, big enough for the whole family, it has a lot of space and keyless entry. Everything could be opened through the key which makes it 10 times for convenient for everyone. Plenty of space in the trunk and the second row is able to be closed to make more space. Honestly it's a great car.

- Sol R

Not overly bulky like most SUVs. Compact but spacious.

I got my SUV from CarMax and they have been wonderful with repairs I need done. I have gotten the oil changed as required and only have had a few minor things need to do like cv axle and had to fix the glitch to the back up camera. But it is great for everything we've done, vacations, going back and forth to work in, etc.

- Brittany A

It is great size for me and my kiddos. Very spacey and love it.

My car is very reliable to get me to places. I love it. It is great for me since I have to kiddos. Lot of space. It is a great size for me also great for trips. We drive my car since it is a smooth drive. The only thing o do not like is the my key setting. It will not let me go over 70 and I cannot seem to fix it.

- Taylor L

The most important thing to know about the Ford Explorer is that it is an extremely safe, reliable and comfortable to drive.

Owning my Ford Explorer has been a pleasant experience. It is comfortable to drive and has been a very reliable vehicle. I have enjoyed the accessories such as GPS, backing camera and message centers. I do think the rear stow away seats could be designed better but that would be my only less than positive statement.

- Sam K

Bluetooth Base Model? No way!

The explorer is dependable, consistent, spacious, and relatively fuel efficient given its size. I've had no issues with the vehicle since purchase and would definitely recommend the car to anyone looking for an SUV. My favorite feature is the Bluetooth compatible stereo; even in the base model this comes pre installed.

- Anthony L

Ford Explorer is the one for you!

My vehicle had all of the features that I need. Bluetooth, remote start to name a few. The screen on the dash is easy to access and has all the quick controls I need at my fingertips. I like the option for a third row if needed but otherwise gives me a large trunk space to hold all things I need for my growing family.

- Mindy M

I love my Ford Explorer xlt, fully loaded and always ready to go!

I love my Ford Explorer xlt! It is roomy, comfortable, and extremely functional! I really do not have anything bad to say or report about my vehicle. It is fully loaded with fantastic features and I feel gas mileage is average for an SUV that size. The 3rd row seating moves easily allowing me to utilize lots of room.

- Jessica R

Why I love my ford explorer 2013.

I love my ford explorer. My favorite aspect is the comfortability. All of the seats are comfortable and the 2 seats in the front are heated. There is also climate control in the front and rear of the vehicle. Fords are built to last and my ford is almost to 200,000 miles but it is still running like I just bought it.

- Lexie S

White exterior, black interior, spacious and roomy. Smooth ride.

So far it is reliable and performance is great. Has a lot of room and gets me to and from where I need to go. I have not had any problem. I do not like how the headrests are for the front seats but so far that is the only issue I have. I have minimal features but it gets the job done and that is what matters to me.

- Kaitlyn L

Nice car and I love it Ford Explorer is the best.

I don't have any problem with my Ford Explorer 2013. It is really a nice car/ SUV to drive around the city. And you can save a lot on gas. Interior is really big and cozy I cannot even see myself driving a different car. It is really nice I love Ford if I am going to buy another car it's going to be Ford Explorer.

- Coco O

Great SUV. Love it so much that I will buy another

No problems with the car. I love Ford. The vehicle requires low maintenance, when their is so. Something wrong the dealership is right there to help me. I have numerous fords and I never had any major problems with the cars. I would highly recommend that you buy a ford, because of the reliability and durability

My 2013 Ford Explorer is awesome.

My vehicle has hands free phone and a navigation system that is awesome. It also has heated seats, back up camera and power windows. It gets great gas mileage and dual a/c controls. It also has third row seating and a back up camera. The only things it does not have is a moonroof and cameras in the head rests.

- Christine B

Reliable and great vacation vehicle.

It's very comfortable and reliable. This is the second one I've owned. The gas mileage is great and it still has power when I need it. It's easy to work on. I do all the maintenance myself. It's a very good design. I really like the cargo room it has in the back. Very good vehicle to take camping on the beach.

- Julian P

Great car for big family and excellent during winter weather.

I love my ford explorer. The size is perfect for my family. It is really good with the weather in ma. Ever since I bought the vehicle I haven't been scared to drive in the snow. Another great feature that the vehicle has is the reverse view camera which allows me to park and measure space. Great buy I love it.

- Maria A

A spacious and smooth vehicle.

I own the base model of my vehicle so there are not too many bells or whistles. The vehicle has max capacity seating able to hold 8 people to include driver. The third and second rows fold down flat creating an extremely spacious room that is great for my two larger dogs. It is overall a very comfortable ride.

- Sara M

Beautiful Blue Explorer - a car with having

Car is reliable, comfortable. Plenty of room for up to 7 people. I can put both of the back seats down and carry almost as much as a truck. Lots of space for everyone. Sirius radio available. Love my sync function. I have had no problems with my car in the 4 months that I've owned it, and bought it used.

- Amy B

Very reliable and comfortable vehicle

I don't have any problems with the Ford explorer. It fits 5 of us very comfortably. It is a very reliable vehicle. It's been a great vehicle for my family. I do wish it was slightly easier to get the kids in and out of the vehicle. The only issue Id ever had was with the battery but that was a very easy fix

- Betty S

New generation automation.

I like the comfort of my vehicle. I like the remote opening of the back tail gate along with the remote start. What I do not like is all the fancy automation that can be very distracting for the driver. When you have to take your eyes off the road to adjust the radio, ac, heat, etc. , That is very unsafe.

- Marilyn S

New cars over $30K should last longer.

It drove and rode nice when new. It slowly started having minor issues, electrical, sensor, simple minor quality issues. It now has about 80K miles and is starting to have transmission problems. Electrical issues slowly expand to gauges, warnings, etc. I personally would not purchase this vehicle again.

- Kirk D

Great vehicle to travel in.

This is a great car. I drive from Michigan to South Dakota several times a year and it is very comfortable to be in for long periods. It has plenty of space for everything you need. It is very reliable and an excellent car to own. It is the second explorer I have owned and would definitely buy a third.

- Elizabeth R

Love the third row seating that powers up or down by touch of a button.

Wish gas mileage was better but love the three row seating. Have an issue with the heat working on the front passenger side as there are two controls one for back and driver and passenger can choose own temperature which is very nice. Also love that I can flip the seats up or down by power stow button.

- Taylor T

Good vehicle with a pain of an issue.

Love everything except for the fact that this year model came with the no gas cap feature which means that now it throws a code that says vapor system leak and we cannot get it inspected. Been at the dealer for three days and they are going to charge me to repair an issue caused by a Ford design flaw.

- Charles M

Reliable SUV for the mom on the go

My car has been a real reliable vehicle. I have had a little bit of a problem with the rear hatch not staying up, so I need to take it in to have it looked at. I also have a problem with the back up camera. It has flipped the view so it needs to be looked at also. Other then that I really love my car.

- RHonda W

It is a decent sized third row suv for the price and holds its value well.

I like that it has a third row but it only works for kids due to leg room. I love its radio system. I wish it had navigation though. The on screen gps would be super helpful. The windows are nicely tinted but they are not very long. I am too short to reach out the window because the ledge is so tall.

- Christina C

Over all, My Explorer is spacious and reliable.

My explorer provides all the room my family of six needs while being still being nimble enough to drive partially off road. We were able to haul a trailer for camping. After all the years, it still runs great still other than our A/C system. That frequently has holes and needs to have lines replaced.

- Chris K

Perks of the ford explorer

Heated and air conditioned seats, 3rd row seating, 3rd row can be stowed away. I enjoy the vehicle, the only negative thing is absolutely everything is electric. It is a push to start. It includes a touchscreen for many features and settings, it also has Bluetooth connections, XM radio, navigation

- Heather W

Exploring and the Leather

The car has wonderful acceleration for one of its size. It has great durability and can drive well enough. It has Ford Touch so you can easily add your phone through Bluetooth. The interior is leather and is quite comfortable. I love the car for its power and overall the way it functions and drives.

- Ryan T

Explorer for families with young kids.

I love the storage capacity of the Explorer. One downside is that the seats are not very deep and it can be difficult to find car seats for youngsters to fit on the seats properly. The backup camera is also amazing! In conjunction with the sensors it has helped prevent several backing up accidents.

- Holly N

The eco boost is great, has plenty of get up and go and very roomy.

2013 Ford Explorer with the ecoboost is an amazing SUV. It has third row seating and plenty of room in the back for leg room storage just anything. I would highly recommend this six for a family car, the SUV gets great mileage on a long drive and even on a short drive to and from town it in a city.

- Cody A

Very roomy and reliable and great for Colorado with all the different terrains

Love the third row seating and is great for hauling my kids and dogs around. Has had some issues with the fuel sensor saying it's leaking and has about 5 recalls on it for that. Gets good gas mileage and drives great in all terrains. Love that it has the switch for which terrain you are driving in

- Megan T

Large enough for 4 car seats, needs a lot of maintenance.

We purchased it used and the vehicle was not properly cared for by the previous owner. With regular maintenance I am sure it is a great vehicle, ours has major issues with the brake system, suspension & 4 wheel drive. We do like that it is large enough for 4 full sized car seats and is versatile.

- Nicole S

My thoughts of my Ford Explorer

I love my Ford Explorer. Downfall is the screen does not work and that was a couple of months after we bought it from dealership. And parts of the car are rusting really bad. Especially the hatch door. It is very luxurious but also sporty. The electronic features are very nice but so expensive

- Haley C

Love the double moon roof!

It is roomy, perfect for road trips. Comfortable, user friendly controls. Voice commands and radio are fun. Seats are comfortable & durable. 7 seats are awesome! Lots of storage with rear, fold down seats. Quiet ride. Sound system is great! Steering wheel controls are simple and convenient.

- Christi W

And old Ford car. Got it 4 years ago at a car dealership

It is an overall ok car, but the engine often had problems. About a week ago, it costed me 200$ to find out nothing was wrong with my engine! Then of course the day after that, the engine starts sputtering. The reliability is ok. The comfort is great, I never really have any problems with that.

- John H

Good all around car for hauling cargo and people.

My Ford Explorer has nice acceleration, corners well and stops easily. It has plenty of room inside. The seats fold flat when you need to haul bigger things and for passengers has seven seat belts. The controls are all easy to understand and reach. It get good gas mileage even on city driving.

- Vicki A

2013 Ford Explorer sport, comfortable and quick.

The Ford Explorer is a wonderful vehicle for families. We love all the safety features and how comfortable and spacious it is. There is not a ton of leg room in the third row seating, but it works for us. My husband really loves how quickly it accelerates and the touch screen is nice looking.

- Nicole V

Ford explorer is a good alternative to a pickup truck and rides better than my f150 truck.

Explorer has plenty of room inside folding third row seat for carrying larger items. Explorer drives well and provides a great and comfortable ride, easy to drive nice for longer trips. Climate control works well and helps provide a pleasant ride in both winter and summertime driving.

- Gerald L

Auto has police equip installed to its features if police buy it in the future.

The only thing I dislike about my vehicle is that it has police equipment on it & it is pearl white so it is very expensive to have worked on. I love the double sunroof, it picks up speed quickly, comfortable, spacious, has a 3rd seat option with the vehicle not being too large itself.

- Lauren M

Ford Explorer: unexpected comfort

Easy to drive. Dependable. Comfortable for trips. Sync system is not great. May just need a software update. The blinkers loud! I love the sunroof and moonroof on the second row. Can easily seat 6 adults 7 if they are petite. I would consider buying another Ford. It is a dependable vehicle

- Pam T

Who wouldn't want to own an Explorer?

I went from a 2002 Explorer to a 2013 Explorer. I really like it. It's comfortable. I wish the seats sat a little higher because that makes it difficult to reach things out the window sometimes, like the teller drawer at the drive through window at the bank. We love our 3rd row seat too!

- Kelly W

I love my 2013 Ford Explorer.

I love my explorer. It's very roomy without being a huge SUV. I've never had a problem with anything on my explorer. It rides comfortably and smoothly. The backup camera is great. With the 3rd row seating up, there is still good room in the hatch. I would recommend the explorer to others!

- Amanda M

Ford Explorer is a great family car

Great family car! We've driven it from SoCal to NorCal without a problem and gas mileage is amazing too! Lots of space even when the third row seating is occupied. It also drives fairly smooth. We have two small kids so when we were looking for a family car, this was the best fit for us.

- Mary G

Good vehicle to own and drive.

Drives smoothly, comfortable and is quiet. Issue is it smells when you get on the gas but wasn't part of recalls a few years ago. Seats comfortable, radio system is good, love using sync for cell phone use when driving. Just recently had issues with the Navigation, USB plugs not working.

- Nancy H

Great vehicle for active lifestyle.

I have had no problems with my vehicle, and it is been extremely reliable. Very comfortable as a family vehicle and plenty of room for when we do outdoor activities. I have also used my car for work and it has proven to be beneficial to have enough room to transport materials for events.

- Anna H

The best thing about my car is the sound system.

My car is the best one I have had in a long while. I love it. It is great on gas. It only has 10,000 miles on it. I drove it from Texas to Maryland and had not 1 worry. If I was to sell I guarantee I could get every bit of 12,000. But I will not be selling it. At least not for a while.

- Andre W

Overall I really like my car and enjoy driving it.

It rides very well and has comfortable seating. I like that it sits up a little bit higher. Not sure if all explorers are like mine but it has a few problems. The armrest on drivers door has split seams and it seems like I've had to work on brakes multiple times since I've owned it.

- Rebekah B

Love my car. Great for a family.

My vehicle is very comfortable, looks good and handles great. My only complaints are that it could be a little better on gas mileage and the leather on the front seats didn't hold up as well as I would like. It is worn away in spots and seems thin. Would have liked them to last longer.

- Kris Z

Comfortable Family Vehicle-Ford Explorer

Great car. Very safe and reliable. I would suggest this car for anyone. It travels well on the highway and takes turns well. I always feel safe when riding and driving the vehicle. The car does well on gas especially when using E85. Easy to clean when having the dogs in the car.

- Dessa L

Very safe vehicle for your family

This vehicle Has a great stereo system along with a very user friendly GPS. I Also love the 3 rows. Would like to have easier access to the 3rd row. I was hit by another vehicle in a accident and had my two children with me. All the airbags deployed and kept myself and children safe.

- Anna M

I love my car and it is dependable.

Comfortable, can pull my camping trailer, and is big for a tall man like me. For long trips is very comfortable and surprisingly it gets good gas mileage for a big engine car. I have a lot of nice features in my car and would likely try to get the same car when it is time to replace.

- Mike G

Family oriented and compact

Easy to clean (leather and second row lifts up all the way), navigation system is great, rear view camera, ac for the front and back with controls available for the second row independently from the front, second row can slide forward a little bit cons: third row leg space is limited

- Hana G

The Ford Explorer with the ecoboost is great!

The car runs and drives great, the only issue is the front end seems to make noises here and there and the brakes as well. Cannot be anything major already had it serviced and everything was fine. Car has plenty of room with the third down seating plenty of legroom in the whole car.

- Cody J

LOVE IT: its the perfect mommy on the go vehicle

I absolutely love my explorer. The third row and technology are my favorite features. It rides comfortably and drives smoothly. I haven't had any mechanical issues out of it with regular maintenance. When the third row is not in use, the trunk space is HUGE which is very convenient.

- Kelly V

The best vehicle I ever owned

My vehicle is so useful, anything/everything I need/want to do is done. Very easy to fix when/if problems happen. I love the way it looks,it's so comfortable. Everyone else loves my explorer too, animals included. It's the best vehicle I have ever owned. I will buy another for sure.

- courtney E

Spacious second row with an additional third row.

Generally the car is nice, spacious and handles well. Has a third row that folds down for more storage. The downfall in the 2013 explorer is there has been a couple recalls in the vehicle. Also, the front of the hood is rusting out in many spots and will eventually need replacing .

- David P

The Ford Explorer is great.

It is a good car, gas mileage is alright, the tires go flat often, it drives smoothly, the seats are comfortable, it looks nice on the outside, lots of room on the inside, looks nice on the outside as well. Does not stand out too much but is still a nice car. Ac works really well.

- Tommy M

Ford Explorer best of the best.

It is reliable and provides a lot of comport and it gets miles to gallon with it being a SUV. It also had heated seats which helps in the cooler months. I have very little problems with all years I have owned a ford. Wireless answering is pivotal when needing to Focus on the road.

- John D

Nice Easy Drive, Lots of Room and Space

It's a smooth ride and very comfortable to ride on It has third row seating with the seats able to fold down has a lot of room if you have a family. Has lots of storage space to store things. The heated seats and ac seats are a great thing to have for the different times of year.

- Michelle O

Beautiful truck but low miles to have issues.

Cv axle went bad at 45,000 miles. Vehicle maintenance check doesn't work at 50,000 miles. Love the look and feel of the truck but for as little miles that are on it I wouldn't expect the maintenance issues that I'm currently having. Other than these things the truck is fantastic.

- Tina G

A comfy larger ride for growing families.

I love my vehicle for its comfort and looks. There is a third row which is handy since I have two kids and a large extended family. The one drawback of the third row is that the second row is not bucket seats, so it is difficult to access the third row easily with small children.

- Laura R

Great vehicle for a person with mobility issues

Very comfortable and reliable. I am handicapped and it is easy to get in and out of. I love the safety and automation features such as Park Assist and Lane Assist and the intelligent cruise control. There is plenty of cargo space and the sight lines are very helpful for me

- George M

Smooth ride, comfortable and roomy

Love my explorer. It rides so smooth and seats are comfortable. Lots of room in the back when the third row is folded down. The third row is pretty tight so not ideal for taller people or long rides. We rarely need it so not an issue for us. I like the e85 fuel option as well.

- Nicole W

I feel safe when I drive it.

Very reliable. Easy to drive/great handling. Easy to park. No mechanical issues. Very comfortable. Roomy. Great for carrying a large dog, groceries. Love it for hauling mulch, lumber (up to 10'!). Ok gas mileage. Averages 15-16 mpg. Good pickup/acceleration. Love this vehicle.

- Kris B

Excellent SUV to Own Gray All the Amenities you can Own, Nice ride.

This SUV sits high, has excellent interior and is comfortable to ride in. We have had it for 4 years and have only done routine maintenance. We are just now starting to do big stuff like struts. I feel fords are one the best cars and trucks to buy. I own two different styles.

- Mary B

I love that I can play music through my Bluetooth synch option.

Love the third row seating. Sync is a wonderful technology option. Drives well, quite inside. Great traction control options, weather terrain features. When third row is down there is lots of cargo space. I enjoy the keyless entry. I wish mine had the automatic tailgate lift.

- Beth B

The room my vehicle has and how the seats can adjust in different positions.

What can I say, this vehicle is good. I have not had any issues with the vehicle. The interior is durable and nice. The vehicle has navigation that is correct. You can pair so many phones to the vehicle. The speakers are great and can be adjusted. The vehicle drives smoothly.

- Teresa R

Perfect vehicle for an aid traveler.

I have loved this vehicle from the get go and am so happy that I finally own one. The ride is smooth and comfortable, the technology and safety features have been wonderful, and I haven't had any issues. I would recommend this car to anyone in the market for a mid size SUV.

- Nicole L

Great stylish family car!!

Get up and go. Spacious and roomy. Ability to haul large items. Sleek and clean looking. Drives smoothly. Great in all weather. Upkeep has been minimal. Quality leather. Feels safe and secure. A must bye. Great road tripper. This car has been great for my family and the kids.

- Jenna W

Great family vehicle with few minor issues

Very stylish and comfortable. Love the 3rd row which also folds away for larger trunk space. Great traction on different terrain and snow/ice. The software is not great and has difficulty working with Bluetooth. Very heavy vehicle and not great fuel economy but handles well.

- Liz K

2013 Ford Explorer review.

The car is a dream I get 20 miles a gallon. I am a big man 6 foot 1 inch and I fit comfortable. So far I have not had any problems to speak of. Just regular wear and tear. My girlfriend loves it also. The overall experience has been great I would suggest this car to anyone.

- Toby P

Spacious. A lot of room for transporting large items.

I love the fact that it is an SUV. I Needed more room because I had a second baby and the first child has lots of friends. So the third folding seat is handy. And now I have room for large purchases. It drives smooth and there's available satellite radio and wireless phone

- Shalonda W

2013 ford explorer review.

Has a lot of room for picking stuff up with the 3rd row seat. Handles great in the snow and rides like a car. Gets about 21 mpg on the highway which seems to be about the range of a SUV like this. Also I am taller and like the head and leg room in the newer model as well.

- Leah F

It runs smoothly, great turning radius and great stereo system.

This vehicle has been great since we bought it new... we do regular maintenance and it runs well! No major issues with any items... just routine maintenance. It has a great stereo system, has a great turning radius and runs well with the maintenance schedule we adhere to

- Julie W

Taking the good with the bad.

I think that it is really loud. It has nice seats and plenty of room, but due to its size it is not very efficient with fuel. The navigation system is not the best, but the screen itself and the sound system are great. It is good in the snow and an overall safe vehicle.

- Gabrielle H

The luxury of having this car with the safety features and the DVD players for the kids in the headrest!! Front and back control heat or air!

I love the safety features, I feel extremely comfortable putting my children in the SUV with a back-up camera, sensors that alert me if I'm to getting to close to a car, the cruise control has an automatic increase or decrease of your speed based on the flow of traffic!

- Kristen C

Great family car. Very reliable and extremely comfortable.

The ford explorer is amazing! There is so much room when traveling with several kids and luggage. It is easy to drive and very comfortable with many extras that come standard. I never have to worry about the reliability as I have never had any issues! Fantastic vehicle.

- Amanda B

The Ford Explorer is a comfortable safe ride.

My Ford Explorer is awesome. It's such a comfortable smooth ride. The inside is very comfortable, the seats are nice, electric, they are heated which is nice in the cold winter. It has a nice terrain management system that leaves me without worry driving in the winter.

- Kyle B

The exciting and sheec 2013 Ford Explorer

It is the most reliable and comfortness exceeds expectations. It sits about seven passengers comfortably and a quiet ride. No complaints the few years I have owned the vehicle. It really is a luxury vehicle including towing package. I would buy another at a later date.

- Pea M

Ford Explorer functional family automobile.

I would prefer the captain seats in the second row it makes for easier movement between rows. Also I highly doubt I would ever get leather again. Cloth is so much more comfortable and does not react to weather the way leather does. Overall love the truck very reliable.

- Chad R

Ford doesn't stand behind obvious design flaws. My car was barely out of warranty when I went to them and they gave me no help at all.

The gas cap won't stay shut. My driver door arm rest is splitting. Ford won't stand behind these issues. Everyone I know who has this year has at least one or both of these issues. Bad design. Handles horrible on water or ice. Maybe I should have given it 1 star.

- Debi T

Hockey mom carpool road trip vehicle

Comfortable, spacious! Fantastic vehicle for a hockey mom like myself, works well for carpooling, great for taking trips out of town. Has great features with touch screen and music options. There's a leak in back sunroof, has an active recall on it, otherwise love it!

- Natasha N

Excellent family car. Perfect for road trips.

It is getting a bit outdated in regards to the electronics and technology. With this, I'd have to say that this car is the best! I live the room in all three rows. The comfort of the seats make it perfect for long road trips. There is plenty of room for everything!

- Renee S

Love my Ford Explorer, limited!

The only problem I have had is the backup camera sometimes works and sometimes does not. I don't really want to invest money in it, as it is leased. It is very comfortable and reliable. Next vehicle, I would like captains chairs instead of a row for the second row.

- Lindsey G

fits family of six comfortably

We love our car. We have a family of six with all four children being in car seats/booster seats and this vehicle fits all of us comfortably. It also has space to fit all of our luggage for a weekend get away. It rides smooth. We have no issues with this vehicle!

- Mika M

Only 2 problems I currently have with my Ford Explorer

My only problems are the check engine light randomly comes on for no known reason and then will go off days or weeks later. Also the plastic piece along the drivers side front windshield has started to lift up. I have seen this happen on other explorers as well.

- Sherry I

My cool ride with everything I need

Love my vehicle I have room and space rides good and I have everything I need in comfort to ride, only thing I don't like is the technology part of vehicle it goes in and out a lot. Love my sunroof and love my third row seat and let's not forget my heated seats

- Christy P

Good vehicle - Poor touch screen.

Love this vehicle. It has been reliable. However the touch screen has gone out and it is very expensive to replace. Every control that is accessed from the touch screen, but the heated and cooled seats can be managed through another means. So this is a bummer.

- Kimbo C

Pros and cons of the Ford limited expedition.

Rubber from around windshield has come off. Navigation randomly says I am in Ohio and does not work. Side mirrors would auto default folded into the car. Keypad entry does not register but every 100-200 times. Very comfortable. Lots of features. Smooth ride.

- Danielle J

Double sunroof Ford Explorer with 3rd row.

I had to have my sunroof worked on but my car has been amazing. It drives very well. The 3rd row is nice and the trunk space is great too. When the 3rd row is up there is still decent trunk space and when you put the 3rd row down there is a lot of trunk space.

- Alicia F

It is reliable. In 5 years it has not given us any problems.

We really like the dependability of the car. We've had it for 5 years now with no problems. We've had some issues with the comfort of the seats. If we do not get the seats adjusted just right we sometimes get back aches on long drives. Could be our age though.

- Therese V

Great small SUV with third row.

I just bought this vehicle and so far I am very happy with it. I love that it has a third row of seats, so it can fit 7 people total. I feel like it sits up very high and I feel very safe in it. The technology and touch screen are pretty impressive for a 2013.

- Marge M

The things I like and dislike about my car.

I like the heated and air conditioned leather seats. I like the big screen on the dash for the radio, navigation, ECT. It's very spacious if you have a big family. I did have to get the transmission replace before 60,000 miles which was covered under warranty.

- Debra H

This car is sweet and simple.

It has given me no problems at all. Have had it for years and have only had a minor accident or two and it is still in perfect condition. It is very reliable and rarely needs repairs if any, the seats are comfortable and the features do what I need them to do.

- Robert P

To summarize, I love the vehicle.

I love how the car drives. It is very smooth and the handling is perfect. I like the spacious backseat and the leather interior is amazing. The seating is comfortable. The only problem I am currently having is the Bluetooth will mess up from time to time.

- Chad J

Even though it is not a tiny car it is easy to drive.

I like that it has plenty of seatbelts for taking my grandchildren places. I also like the controls on the steering wheel and that it will read my texts to me. I wish it was just a bit longer. The space between the front seats and second row is very limited.

- Victoria A

Great gas mileage. Love the flex fuel option and it is better for the environment.

My SUV is able to fit 6 adults comfortably and has room for storage. I like the smooth handling and added features such as adjustable pedals, seat warmers and rear view camera. The model has had a number of recalls and I am currently having computer issues.

- Rebekka K

It has plenty of room and drives smoothly.

I like that it rides higher up than cars I have had in the past. I like that it is sporty and has a lot of room for people and other things to carry like groceries. I like the overall look and feel of it. I do not like the gas mileage it gets but it is ok.

- James T

I only drive Fords, for good reason

The Ford Explorer is the perfect SUV for city or country life. All-wheel drive makes winter driving hassle free, and heated seats take the edge off the winter chill. If you're in the market for a mid-size SUV that offers big-time quality, look no further.

- JoAnn O

Great family car for all your adventures.

Really great family car. Love that it fits the kids with ease in car seats/booster and the trunk has plenty of room for groceries, a stroller if necessary and sports equipment. Heated seats and a sunroof are a great option too. Drives great in the snow.

- Meg C

Ford explorer overview, the good and the bad.

Love how reliable it is, luxury features at quality price. Beautiful interior design. Tons of room in back. Easy fold seats. Problems include paint breakdown due to oxidation and interior even though its leather is falling apart. Gets great gas mileage.

- Sara B

I like that the car is not that big, but still offers a third row of seating.

There are no problems, everything is great. The car performs perfectly and has features that make the experience better. In the past there was a few issues, but once fixed and taken care of, everything runs smoothly again, and I am very happy about it.

- Ashley A

Nice, bold and beautiful in color.

Love my vehicle, I travel a lot so it's very economical with mileage and gas. It's very reliable, I have had it for almost 3 years never have I had any problems with it. Very spacious, it has a third row sitting, and a deep trunk with plenty of space.

- Maria B

I am in love with this car!!

My car is comfortable and roomy. I like the features (double sunroof, navigation, etc.) and it handles and drives smoothly. The third row seat folds down easily to allow for more passengers or cargo. My car has been very reliable and easy to maintain.

- Tina V

Best SUV ever!! Drives like a luxury car but has the room of a truck!!

Love my Explorer! Second time I have owned one. Only traded the first one because I thought I wanted a car but I couldn't live without the Explorer so I found another one! Absolutely no problems! Plan to keep it forever or until the wheels fall off!!

- Dianne B

Great mom car especially for rear facing children.

Very comfortable. I have a 2 year still in a rear facing car seat and it still has plenty of room for someone to sit in middle seat also. Only thing I wish it had was to adjust middle row. Sometimes car seat makes person in front seat close to dash.

- Michelle R

Features of my Ford Explorer.

I love the comfort and ease of driving. It has plenty of room for transporting my luggage, groceries, and other cargo. I up to this point haven't had any major maintenance issues. It has the sync system which allows me to talk on my phone handsfree.

- Don T

It's a comfortable ride and gets good gas mileage

Not found any dislikes and really no complaints other than stuff I do myself .having 3 shall grandkids that I take on vacation often we live the 3rd row seating to extra storage when we travel for work with seats down and love the comfortable ride

- Sherry W

Definitely upgrade the seats because you will not regret it.

I like that I upgraded the inside of the vehicle. I have 3 kids and we have leather seats. I like how I have the option of a 3rd row and my kids can all fit in the car with their car seats. I do not like how it sounds when I start up my car.

- Janel L

Rugged but luxurious SUV with all the bells and whistles, you will not be disappointed

Rugged full size SUV with a luxurious upgraded interior. Looks stylish while providing a ton of room for hauling people and stuff. Only complaint about my model is that it is not four wheel drive - why make an SUV without four wheel drive??

- Maria F

My 2013 Ford Explorer xlt is a safe and comfortable car to drive.

I have no major issues with my 2013 Explorer. I love how much room it has and how comfortable it on long road trips. Love the heated seats, navigation and touch screen. Love that I can connect my phone and use hands free when receiving calls.

- Jaime H

Perfect road trip vehicle!

This Explorer is the best car, especially for road trips. Our limited has additional seats in the back or they can be stowed. A great option along with folding back seats that makes a huge area for traveling, packing, home depot trips, etc.,

- Di B

No problem running errands comfortably without feeling like I am driving a bus.

Likes are flat folding rear seats and self closing sunroof when turning off the vehicle. The list of dislikes are near to none the keyless entry on the door has quit working so improving the longevity of that could be an area of improvement.

The Ford explorer drive like a small car not a large suv

Spacious fits 7 people. This SUV drives very nicely. You don't know your in a large suv. It has lots of features like connecting you phone thru bluetooth. There is a traction control knob but it also engages automatically if the tires slip

- Jackie M

Heavy car and great in the snow with 4 wheel drive.

It is a heavy well built SUV. 25 mpg on the highway. Plenty of cargo room. Keeps its resale value. Has all the bells and whistles offered on this model. Comes with Michelin tires and now have 60, 000 miles and still have plenty of tread.

- Rick W

Reliable and comfortable. I recommend the Explorer

I enjoy driving my explorer. I like that I sit up higher. I have the seven seater which has been very helpful to go on vacation. My explorer also has the GPS, which is very nice. There really isn't anything i don't like about my vehicle

- Michelle H

It overheats because the radiator is cracked and needs to be replaced.

Needs radiator replacement, headlight reassembled, body damage fixed, oil changed, suspension fixed, brakes and brake pads need done, need new tires soon, overheats, catalytic converter needs replacement, fuse number 43 needs replaced.

- Jennifer D

It will last forever- very reliable.

I love how my explorer drives and it is very comfortable. It has so much room with having the 3rd row. Great on gas mileage as well. My only complaint is that the blinkers are so hard to press up or down but I have gotten used to them.

- Corey R

All in all the Explorer has been perfect for my everyday commute.

The 2013 Explorer is great! So far the only issues I have had are with the water pump and I have had it for over 2 years. The repairs were not that expensive and didn't take long at all to fix. The Explorer is spacious and comfortable.

- Tierra P

Careful with ford vehicles because most leak somewhere. Other then that I love ford.

I like everything actually but I love the color red. I love the backup camera. I love the ac as I live in Florida I need an awesome ac. I disliked it leaked at the hatch but was an easy fix once we found the exact location of the leak.

- Lisa L

A lot of space ! Great for families

I have two kids so I went from a small Camry to a explorer . It has very ample space and I'm able to take my big jogging stroller as well as soccer equipment for my son and still having ample space for us to travel comfortably

- Susy m

All the great features of the car is the most important thing others should know.

I like everything about it and dislike nothing. I love the cruise control, like the park assist although never use it. I like automatic cruise, warning lights, alerts - i like everything. I'll get another one in a year or so.

- Carol B

It has room for 7 people.

My car is a black Ford Explorer SUV. It has a third row of seats, rear temperature control, and several places to charge devices. I love my car because it is very roomy and has voice activated features. I have no complaints.

- Nicole K

I have the sport version and love the acceleration speed that is offered in an SUV

I love my explorer. It is the only model SUV that had a 3rd row AND cargo space. The seats fold completely flat when i need it and the cargo area dips down so my groceries don't roll. It has been perfect for my family of 6.

- Allison H

It's stylish, fast, and drives great with a whole lot of advanced safety features.

I love the advanced safety features such as adaptive cruise control and collision mitigation features. Plus having the twin turbo ecoboost engine really makes it a thrilling ride. It also gets really great gas mileage.

- Michael M

It is a smooth stick shift car.

I like the reliability and the smooth ride. For a large vehicle it also gets decent gas mileage. I do not like the fact my Bluetooth is not compatible with a samsung phone. I wish the vehicle was bigger and darker tint.

- Kyle B

I have yet to need to do one single repair on it!

There is nothing I dislike about my vehicle. I love it. Although my mom?s new Honda CR-V has cameras that come on when she turns on her blinkers that show her what's in her blind spot. It would be nice to have that!

- Amy S

Its features are amazing.

My 2013 Ford explorer limited is my best car yet. I have no issues with my SUV and it has 60k miles on it. It is a roomy vehicle comfortably seating 7 people. When you go for a drive it is an experience every time.

- Courtney M

It is a great value. And I love the gas mileage.

I really do not have any complaints. I do wish I would?ve purchased it with captains chairs instead of the middle row. It is plenty spacious for my family, and easily accommodates two car seats on the middle row.

- Stacie A

It handles well in all weather conditions, especially snow.

The Explorer is very roomy and comfortable. Handles very well. Only downfall is the mileage per gallon. Was hoping to get a little more than 20 miles per gallon. But for the size of the vehicle it's not bad.

- Faith C

Love my blue Ford Explorer !

4wd, remote hatch, rear camera (works once-in-while), video inside, auto seat adjustable, seat warmers, 7 passenger, I love the seats fold down and I can fit really large loads of groceries or small furniture.

- Rose B

It's reliable and economical, a good choice for an everyday vehicle.

It handles well, easy to manoeuvre and park. Good gas mileage, which is great because I drive from state to state often. Great storage area, easy to pack up from large shopping trips, or for longer road trips.

- Lei L

Its durable and has had no mechanical problems.

I like the way it drives and handles. I like the size and third row. I like the shape of the vehicle. I do not like the cloth seats and lack of upgrades inside. It also had a bad blind spot when backing up.

- Cassie H

My car gets along great in the snow and ice. I love that it has the option to change the traction so the car knows that it will be driving on ice or snow.

I love the look of my vehicle. It makes me feel good and happy to drive. I dislike that I do not have captains chairs in the back. The 3rd row seems impossible to get to when car seats are on the bench seat

- Rachel T

Usually dependable & pretty easy to drive.

The Ford Explorer is easy to drive & usually reliable. Their are some blind spots when trying to make left turns. There is lots of room for passengers & pets. Sometimes the air conditioning breaks down.

- Marge S

That i take pride on it, i am very proud of my car, it gives me security.

it has a camera so when i go back i can see what's behind, the seats are leather nad get heated on winter, 4 wheel drive, has a sunroof and it looks so beautiful, plus it was a gift from a dear friend

- Rocio O

The headlights are finicky. Sometimes when the lights turn on they don't go off and it's $1000 to have them fixed.

I got it used it's so reliable and has the right amount of room for my family I love the captain chairs in the middle row and the storage space is great. I only wish the headlights weren't as finicky.

- Brittany C

The gas could be better. .

This vehicle has an awful suspension problem. The suspensions have needed to be replaced more than once. My favorite part about this vehicle is that it makes me and my family feel safe on long trips.

- Nik S

2013 Ford Explorer, lots of space, runs great!

Overall we have had minimal issues with this vehicle. I like how much space there is inside, the seats are very comfortable as well. Only thing I'd change is getting captains seats in the second row.

- Kelsey D

It's a very comfortable reliable family suv. I have had our car for five years now and it has only been in the shop once.

The explorer is a great size suv for families. With three rows of seating it can accommodate many kids and still has space to keep the fur babies in the back too. Handles great. Decent gas mileage.

- Samantha N

It is very dependable and despite the size is great on gas.

I love the size and the 3rd row seat. It's very dependable and I like design. I dislike that it not keyless and doesn'T have Bluetooth. I also would like it better if were a different color.

- Crystal T

Great mileage on gas usage. Last you plenty of years.

It had a fuel line leak that took over 3 weeks to fix a month after we purchased it. The auto start does not work correctly. It smells like fuel or something like fuel when it is turned on.

- Tr L

It feels safe with the way the airbags are positioned.

I like the size of the vehicle. I also like that it includes the navigation, hands off phone system. I feel safe when traveling in my car. The gas mileage is great on this vehicle also.

- Sandy P

2013 Explorer Review from a mom

My car has been excellent I have had wiper issues but it was a 5 minute fix and like $10 the wipers would come on without being on. Besides that not many issues lots of room for my family

- Amanda W

It is a bigger SUV but the gas mileage is great for the size of the vehicle. Exceptional amount of room.

I love how much room it has. The 3rd row is great. Decent gas mileage. Perfect vehicle for traveling! My only complaint is that The leather on the door started pulling apart at the seams.

- Cassie S

It is built very tough on the exterior.

My vehicle is a very reliable vehicle. I love the space in my truck. I dislike the fact that certain parts in the vehicle come apart easily. The radio volume does not go up loud enough.

- Anita M

It can pick up speed as well as any sports or luxury car.

My vehicle is a SUV so I can load as much stuff in it as I want. It is a turbo so it has great speed. I like riding up high. The gas mileage is ok, but it is comfortable on long trips.

- Cheryl S

It has ample space for a large family.

Like it can fit 3 car seats across the middle row. Do not like that it doesn't have captains chairs as the middle row. No leather seats which make for difficulty in maintaining clean.

- Chris R

Good storage, very reliable.

We have owned our car for two years now. We bought it used and it has run perfectly. I love that it can accommodate up to 7 passengers while still maintains storage room in the trunk.

- Michelle D

It is the perfect family car, the option to fit 7 is perfect for a large family.

I love my explorer, i love the room, the third row seating. It makes it easy to take the family anywhere. When the third row is not up the cargo area is huge. I have zero complaints.

- Stephanie S

That it is white and often gets mistaken for a police vehicle

I love how it drives, smooth and tight. I like the compact design, not too big. Only thing is I wish I got a all wheel drive vehicle rather than front as it's not the best in snow

- Peggy D

Great car, plenty of room!

I love my explorer! For a four person family it had room for car seats. The third row is perfect for extra people and when it's not being used, the extra room in the trunk is great!

- Katie H

It has a lot of space and is great if you have children or large pets.

I love the space. Safety is good. The number pad doesn't work though. Not the best gas mileage either. But overall has been a great car and useful when traveling with my young son.

- Becca M

This car is great for everyday and for road trips with my family.

I like that it fits my family comfortably - especially when traveling. I like that it drives well in snow. I like the leather seats, the back-up camera. I wish It had front camera.

- Linda G

Toyota makes a great car and it is extremely cheap on gas.

I really do not have any complaints. I love the way it drives. I like the backup screen. The only thing I wish it had is a blind spot sensor. I believe the newer models have them.

- Jamie M

It's great as a family car because of all the space and durability that it has

No complaints. The car has three row seating and a ton of room for our family. There is also a beeping noise when you back up and get too close to something which is very helpful.

- Anna T

Key fob issue-won't start from outside the car.

The only thing I have noticed is the ignition Start on the key fob does not work. It worked a couple times after we purchased the vehicle a few months ago, but does not work now.

- Annie P

Twin Turbos are a blast - Fun to drive!

All leather interior, sunroof and moonroof, seats 7. Touch screen console with a great sound system. Sport edition so it has twin turbos. A ton of fun to drive and very reliable.

- Jacque C

It's convenient and has a lot of cargo space. It's also very comfortable.

I like the vehicle overall. It looks good, functions well, but we've had a few cosmetic issues as well as electronic and Ford refuses to cover the issues they have under warranty

- Joel O

The Explorer is built strong and the inside room is amazing

I love the size, the room in the back for transporting or purchasing large items. I love the look. I love the way it handles. I hate that the third row seat is not automatic.

- Kathy M

Ford Explorer Issues to think about.

I like my vehicle. The paint on the hood is chipping and Ford knows this is an issue and won't help fix it. It also leaks water in bad rain in the 3rd row. I do like it though.

- michelle G

It is a very dependable vehicle but it is not very good on gas mileage.

I like that it is 4 wheel drive but don't like that it is all time 4 wheel drive. I wish there was an option to shut off the 4 wheel drive. I like that it has a backup camera.

- David V

It's runs smoothly and is easy to drive. Also the front drivers seat can get into any position you want.

I love the amount of space I have for seating. The seats are comfy. It's easy to drive. I wish it was a little bit longer to have more trunk space when all seats are in use.

- Lisa S

I love my Ford Explorer! It's been the most reliable and comfortable vehicle I've even owned.

I love my Ford Explorer. The size is perfect for me and provides a comfortable space for my elderly parents. It rides smooth, and I could not be happier with the performance.

- Kimberly C

It's reliable and durable. It is trustworthy and well built. plenty of room for multiple passengers

This vehicle has a smooth ride and is very comfortable. It has plenty of great technology features, and comfort features. I have 90k miles and have not had any problems

- Nichole L

Plenty of room for a big family. Most car seats fit great.

I like the space inside. Plenty of room across each seat. Only dislike is that there is no backup camera. I thought all vehicles 2013 and up were required to have one.

- Cissy P

This car is the perfect size for a family of four, five, or six.

I really, really like my car. It is big enough to carry many children, but does not feel too big to drive. The seats are comfortable, and it is a good, reliable car.

- Alexis R

Spacious, comfy leather, and love the touch screen for radio.

I love how much space I have in my vehicle with 3 little ones I need that. Only complaint is my check engine light already came on after purchasing it only 1 year ago.

- Tiffany H

It fits my personality to a tea.

My Explorer is fun to drive. It handles great on all types of roads. I can use it for many different events. Plenty of room for people and stuff. It's very versatile.

- Sandra T

Limited-great except needs to have a pass through 2nd row.

Performance is great and it is very reliable. Comfort is on the lower side as far as having access and room to the third row of the vehicle. There is no pass through.

- Brittany H

Very roomy and spacious. Fits all your needs.

It is reliable and trustworthy. I get decent gas mileage and great performance. There is a lot of cabin space and lots of room for people or items you want to carry.

- Elysia G

It rides good and free hand phone.

It is hard to get something between the seats when something falls between them. I love the back up camera and navigation. I like the plug ins for my phone and iPad.

- Janet S

My vehicle is not as great as it used to be.

The car I drive does not function that well from when I first bought it. The brakes stop too quickly. The engine makes a screaming noise. The air conditioner stinks.

- Mia D

I would say the most important thing for people to know about my car is that it's reliable and safe.

I love my care. It has the third row that I was looking for when we bought a new car. It's sturdy reliable and safe! It has all the features that I was looking for!

- Hilary B

Technically advance Ford Explorer.

I love my cars heated seats. It warms me up on a cold winter day. I also like the fact it has a rear view camera that helps me when I try to put my car in reverse.

- David D

It's great vehicle, super ride.

Like the ride, the gas mileage and the systems. I dislike the seating, backseat not great for traveling and the insurance premium that goes along with the vehicle.

- Donna S

There are some issues with the radio.

Fantastic car. Great gas mileage for such a big vehicle. I really couldn't be happier. It toats the kids around well and has tons of room for sports equipment!

- Robert J

Great family car. The paint is chipping off on the hood though. There could be a little more space between the front seats and 2nd row. The features are great.

I like that it has three rows of seats. It has plenty of space. It drives well and has a great navigation system. The only downfall is it uses a lot of gas.

- Nicole C

It's a white SUV that is easy to drive.

Love the feel of the vehicle as it drives. What I don't like is all the computerized gadgets in the vehicle that make it hard to pay attention to the road.

- Marilyn F

The vehicle will parallel park itself which I find really neat.

I love the features my vehicle has. I haven't had any issues besides a air conditioning problem, but it was nice because it was covered under the warranty.

Issues. Transmission issues, compute ecu issues, Power takeoff unit replaced. Bad o2 sensors. Battery has been replaced every year. Sounds like a gem.

Water leakage coming from where?

Water leakage somewhere in the inside. I have had it to the garage shortly after it was bought and now again a year later. Other than that it is good.

The only problem other than a couple of recalls is the front panel below the bumper should be an inch or two shorter because it gets caught on curbs

I liked it when I first got it but things seem to be breaking down. I hate the nav and audio system. Gas mileage is ok. The size is a little small.
