2002 Ford F-150: An Old Workhorse

2002 Ford F-150 Lariat

My 2002 Ford F-150 is an old workhorse. I use it daily to commute to and from work every weekday. On the weekends, I use it to haul things such as large branches from my large backyard trees. With its current mileage of about 200K, I sometimes spend weekends with what I consider maintenance for an older vehicle (I've replaced the battery, alternator, signal flasher, spark plugs all within the past year). However, this truck has never left me stranded on the side of the road, which I consider to be the most important thing. It is also fully functional. My number one complaint about this vehicle is the fuel economy. I live in the city and it can get rough on the wallet. But, this is an older vehicle and was never meant to be fuel efficient. Overall, I really like this vehicle and doesn't have a higher rating because it's older, fuel economy, and it's got cosmetic wear and tear.

02 ford f-150 extended cab.

2002 Ford F-150 Lariat

Overall I am very happy with it. The only issue I have is I am 6'2' female and have really long legs and the steering wheel so far away it is uncomfortable to drive with the seat back far enough to get in and out without smacking my knee on the column. Also with the seat far enough forward to reach the wheel I have hit my head repeatedly on the hand hold that hang down below the top of the door jam. That being said once in the driver seat here is plenty of legroom to drive comfortably when the seat is far enough forward to reach steering wheel easily.

Great truck with plenty of power

2002 Ford F-150 Lariat

I have the 5.4 Triton V8 in my 2002 F150 Crew Cab Lariat. It has been and will continue to be the best engine produced by ford in my opinion. It has plenty of power to pull anything I have ever need it to pull. ( I haul heavy crane parts for work on a weekly basis) I have never had any major mechanical issues with the truck. With that being said maintenance is always your best friend. If you take care of your vehicles they will take care of you.

The pedals are adjustable.

2002 Ford F-150 Lariat

I haven't had any problems with my f150 just the normal maintenance like oil changes, breather. It's not as comfortable or roomy like my f250 super duty gas mileage isn't that great but I also pull a cargo trailer daily. The pedals do adjust for me that's the best feature of the truck considering I am only 4'11' tall.

Great size truck for someone with pets or children.

2002 Ford F-150 Lariat

My vehicle has over 200,000 miles and has only had some trouble in the past two years. At this point, the repairs have been worth keeping the vehicle rather than trading it in on a newer vehicle. Issues have included radiator replacement, all new spark plugs and coils, new intake manifold, and new thermostat.

The car that never leaves a stain

2002 Ford F-150 Lariat

It works good the features are good it drives really well but the doors always get stuck so it's hard to open them sometimes. The seats are really comfortable I wipe down the seats every day. It really is a good vehicle it doesn't leak it doesn't run out of gas easily and I have fun driving in general.

Good Truck overall, the motor will last forever if maintained

2002 Ford F-150 Lariat

Air conditioner doesn't work and its 108 degrees here. otherwise, it's a good truck. Engine is strong with proper maintenance. It could have deeper back seats like the Toyota Tundra. It has a tendency to not hold an alignment well. Also, the starter had to be replaced last year.

Great gas mileage, plenty of room, good radio and good speakers

2002 Ford F-150 Lariat

It's great and dependable. Has room for all 3 of my kids in the backseat. Can fit 3 people in front seat. Good gas mileage. Good horsepower. Good motor. Plenty of room in bed of truck to haul stuff. Good heat and good air conditioning. Great radio and speakers.

The headlights can be on automatic or you can turn them on or off manually

2002 Ford F-150 Lariat

The f150 is a good truck if you keep up on maintenance it will run for a long time mine has over three hundred thousand miles and still runs good. I have the pedals that can adjust height for shorter people which helps my wife when she drives the truck
