Pros and cons to owning a larger truck

2002 Ford F-150 XL

I have had a few problems with my truck. One, I had trouble fixing my ac but was finally able to find someone to fix it. I took it in several times and the mechanics had trouble figuring out where the problem was. So most of the time they would just charge the ac and send me on my way. It would help but only for a short time. I also have trouble with getting my truck into first gear. I have always had a problem with that. I have taken it in a couple of times but the mechanic couldn't find the problem so I just gave up and left it as is. Other than that I love my truck. I feel like it's reliable and it's pretty good on gas. No back seat so if you have small kids this isn't the vehicle for you. I love that the truck has a xl bed it comes in handy. The truck has a bench seat so that can be frustrating if the driver has short legs and the passenger has long legs. It can be a bit uncomfortable for the passenger. One of the cup holders isn't very deep so if you aren't carefully it will fall out and still everywhere. It would be nice if there were a few extra cup holders. Or if the one was deeper. One thing the back is very light so it is easy to fishtail if you apply too much gas or if the road is wet.

Big Powerhouse Truck that fits Even the smallest driver.

2002 Ford F-150 XL

The thing that I love the most about our F-150 is that being a woman with short legs, I will never have a problem reaching the pedals comfortably. This vehicle comes with a moving pedal feature that allows me to move the gas pedal and brake pedal closer to me for easy access. I also have long hair and love having fresh air so instead of having my window down, blowing my hair around, I can open the sunroof instead. The truck has the power I need when I want to pass and need to do it in a hurry. We live on a gravel road and I'm so glad that our truck drive great on these roads. I've driven trucks in the past that didn't handle well on gravel and its an uneasy feeling. The space in our F-150 is great. I can invite friends to ride with us when we are attending a function as a group.

Ford 150 pu truck. It is the best vehicle I have for my use and interests.

2002 Ford F-150 XL

Stable in all weather, rarely gets stuck. Sufficiently comfortable for me, not so much for my wife. Cabin roomy. Gets decent gas mileage. I have minimal problems with tire slippage. Ability to carry emergency equipment and supplies under the front seat. I keep a small backpack accessible between the front seats and in a rubbermaid box in the back containing a heavy rope. Chain with tow hooks, and a fire extinguisher. I go off road a lot, as owner of rural land and residing close to the outskirts of the city line where I have access to unimproved roads. Among my interests are hunting and fishing and the vehicle serves admirably for these purposes. The vehicle is a ford 150 pu.

Never disappointed amazing reliability

2002 Ford F-150 XL

I am extremely happy with my vehicle. I've owned my truck for 13 years and have only had minor repairs made to it. Examples of the repairs I've made are alternator, starter, front wheel bearing and ball joints. I consider that to be pretty good for a 17 year old vehicle that I bought used. I have kept it maintained with tune ups and oil changes. Other expenses I've had are tires and brake pads. I daily drive my vehicle currently at around 500 miles a week. It runs the same today as it did when I bought it. I would suggest to anyone looking for a truck to go look at a ford you won't regret it.

Pros and cons on le truck.

2002 Ford F-150 XL

It's great for hauling heavy items and a trailer. Does great with a 1200 lb horse + king ranch trailer attached on windy and straight roads. No rollbacks on incline. Seats are okay. It's a good basic truck. Downfalls: when first purchased there was a key for on/off airbags-- it was turned off and had the dealer turn it back on. Slight glitches such as the e brake gets stuck but that was within first 6 months of purchase -- years ago!!. Seatbelts wear fast, the seat bench knobs fall off after a while and it's a pain to pull forward. Steering position cannot be adjusted. Mass gas guzzler!

Personal opinion of an F-150

2002 Ford F-150 XL

My vehicle doesn't have any problems other than being expensive when it comes to gas, It is a 4 door truck though. My husband and I own a Construction company so it was best to have a big truck. Other than gas mileage we absolutely love our F-150. There's plenty of room for the family and the businesses. It has 4wd which definitely comes in handy on some jobs. When it comes to performance, reliability, and comfort I'd definitely give it a 5 star rating.

F 150 has been a quality truck.

2002 Ford F-150 XL

Overall my ford f150 has been a solid and dependable truck. I am second owner and it was passed down to me by my father. It has 224,000 miles on it and still runs strong. It has needed general service work over the years but no major problems. The interior is nice however the seats are not that comfortable. True to typical ford fashion, the seats are a little too firm for my liking.

Perfect truck for your family.

2002 Ford F-150 XL

This truck is comfortable to drive and ride in. It has a back seat that is comfortable as well. The air conditioner is perfect to keep everyone cool. With the V8 it has a lot of get up and go for passing or on the highway. We are able to haul whatever we need or want by taking off the cover. When the cover is on it keeps the bed nice and dry. I highly recommend this truck.

It is a versatile vehicle that can do many tasks.

2002 Ford F-150 XL

I have the extended cab and it requires a lot of space to turn around. The truck seems to have more than average blind spots. It has been very reliable truck and has not given me any major problems. It is a six cylinder but has more than enough power for my needs. I wish it got better gas mileage but 20 mpg is good considering it is a full sized pickup.

Great vehicle for many years. Never let me down.

2002 Ford F-150 XL

I love driving a truck compared to a car. It's got great pick-up power. It easily pulls a trailer. It has plenty of room in the cab and in the back bed. Drives smooth on most terrain. Being an older vehicle gives it some issues but with all qualities it has, I'm sure I will by a new version of the same truck. It's durable and tough, very reliable.

- Christine K

My vehicle suits the needs I am satisfied with in the ways previously mentioned.

2002 Ford F-150 XL

I love my ford f150 because it is reliable, comfortable gas mileage is admiral also I can rest at ease in a flood with 3-5 inches water no problem there for me last to say the least I have space for moving stuff or relocate also my cab is comfortable and roomy I feel an advantage over other cars when in traffic in height I am loving it.

This truck is a powerhouse.

2002 Ford F-150 XL

I have had this truck for many years. It is reliable, dependable. I have had just minor problems with it (wear and tear) it has treated me very well. I just change the oil every 3,000 miles. The truck is very strong. I got rear ended by a driver, his car was heavily damaged, my truck was fine.

- Frank D

Comfortable riding and good on gas.

2002 Ford F-150 XL

I love the way it drives and rides. It is good on gas. It fills all my needs as far as dependable and comfort. I love that I am higher up than a car. I do not think I will ever go to a car again. It is very handy for hauling things big or small. It is comfortable to ride on a long trip.

- Netty J

The ford f-150 is a reliable and stylish vehicle for those who need a truck.

2002 Ford F-150 XL

The vehicle runs smoothly and has been reliable. The front seat belt in the passenger side comes undone sometimes, which is a problem, other than that it has been a good vehicle. The seats are comfortable and adjust to my needs. It has automatic windows and an aux cord input as well.

- Kristina W

This truck has always been a reliable vehicle.

2002 Ford F-150 XL

I've never had a problem with my vehicle. If you maintain your vehicles normal conditions, such as oil changes, spark plugs, air filters, you won't have a problem. It drives very well and all the features it has have always been great. I love this truck even if it is an older truck.

- Michelle G

It's old but still runs well

2002 Ford F-150 XL

It has over 240,000 miles. Runs well but not the best. Shakes when idling. Doesn't have the same power it once had. It only seats 3 which limits leg room. Limits pretty much everything I can do. Changing the spark plugs is major pain in the butt. Not the easiest access to them.

- Erik M

My Guardian Angel. It is red w/ beefed up shocks, able go off road, on highways.

2002 Ford F-150 XL

It don't have any problems, it is very reliable and comfortable. It has a CD player, overdrive and bench seat plus a bed cover. Before I started working from home I drove it everyday to work and back now I mainly use it around our little country town and to go get groceries.
