Fantastic off-road performance from the Raptor model, the upgraded EcoBoost V6 provides a good mix of power and efficiency, and handling while towing is better than other full size trucks.
dislikeFilled The Bad
Interior materials are cheaper than competitors, the infotainment system is outdated, and the base V6 engine is underpowered.

Nope, LOVE MY TRUCK, it gets 600 miles to the tankful of gas. It drives like a dream and is 4 wheel drive. Loves the snow and rain, good handling!
Go get one, they are super great. Looks very stylish and is useful for any type of job.

The most important thing about the f-150 is that is drives really well.
I like the roominess of the cab. I like the gas mileage on the hwy but could do with better mileage with in town driving.

Best auto I ever owned and love it.
Best and most useful auto I ever owned. Big cab is roomy and I sit up high. 4wd is useful in Michigan winters. No out of the ordinary repairs/maintenance items. Not many over the top bells and whistles but standard comfort items and all work well. The only issue I note is in really cold temps my washer solvent lines freeze. Dealer unable to resolve.

Great for everyday use or pulling loads. Lots of power.
Car is great except it's too smart for its own good. The computer senses problems but is much too sensitive.

Just love the way it drives. Great on gas and miles. Fabulous price at time of purchase yes we would recommend this truck to all our friends and family. We have been a Ford family for over 30 years great family cars and trucks.

Great purchase, finding a use for everyday life.
Have owned my current ford f-150 now for the past 6 years. Within those last 6 years there have been some factory recalls. That being said, they have all been very manageable, quick and easy fixes. I currently own a super crew with ample seating, regular 6’5” bed, which works very well with carrying and hauling items. Drives very smoothly, and have not (besides factory recalls) had any problems with my current vehicle.

Timing Chain
Have a 2014 f150 EB, had the timing chain changed at 98,000km by ford as recommended. It has now broke at 141,000km. A timing chain to go in 43,000 km, unheard of! All Ford Canada can say is sorry this happened. Unacceptable !

The dealer and the manufacturer looking after the customer
I would not recommend a 2014 ford or any other ford. Ford does not not stand behind the truck , even when you know and they know it is a factory design problem. My truck is rusting on top of the roof right above the inside mirror . There is no rust any where else. A country driven truck. When you talk to the dealer, they try to avoid the subject because they know its a problem. So disappointing when rust makes your vehicle basically worth less. Ford and the dealer dont care. No more new fords will be on my yard. I have a 1998 chevy that does not have rust on the roof. Good bye ford

Very good truck for a work truck.
It is not a bad truck but Seth Wadley has made it terrible. But the truck has the 5.0 with four wheel drive. Has posi track rear end. Have had issues with alignment but not too bad. Does pull good and has very good fuel economy for a full size truck. Overall I give it a 3 out of 5.

The EcoBoost motor is fantastic with the 3.5 liter engine. I have the max tow package of 12,200 lbs in a short bed and pull a 12,000 lb 5th wheel and on open ground. It is effortless for it to pull. I would highly recommend this truck over a Dodge or Chevrolet as it is far ahead of both in new technology.
N early 2016 had 95000 km on truck (2014 F150 3.5 L EcoBoost). Complained to dealership service rep at that time about no pick up in the truck. Had the extended warranty up to Aug 2016. Service rep started to get irate and stated, "This EcoBoost engine is great and there have never been problems." Now 2018 with only 119,000 km on the truck and the timing chain needs to be replaced. Ford will not pay but dealership is paying for some of the cost to replace timing chain. Had a Ford Focus station wagon with 120,000km from 2012 to 2014 with no problems. I traded it in for the EcoBoost F150

Forever on the road dead!
My vehicle is unreliable. There are many oil leaks and loose trim that makes rattling noises. It is not good on gas

Cheaper gas, runs smooth and overall I love it.
I love my car, I have had it for quite some time now and it is perfect. I haven't had any mechanical issues as of yet and gas is cheap. Mileage is good though I have been driving it for usually long distance trips. Overall I will say that it is a perfect car for anyone.

Raptor SVT 6.2l all terrain truck w/ a luxury car feel.
It is muncher larger and roomier than it appears. The comfort levels of the seats could be compared to an Italian leather piece of furniture or a 3k and upward mattress. I have had many premium vehicles and was always told that the 2003 Chevrolet avalanche was the best ride that anyone who has went on road trips in it has ridden in before. This truck is actually a better ride for a long distance truck in comparison and the Chevy would leave your passengers getting out after a 15 hour trip and feeling rested. I would definitely recommend the comfort of an airtight, well made seats and the interior in general. I find the raptor to be a lot more airtight (no noise inside when in motion) than a Mercedes Benz. It has amazing power of which I never use and I never have to worry about getting stuck anywhere no matter how bad the weather or how deep you may accidentally drive in wet grass or dirt and begin to get stuck. There is a metal plate that covers the entire underbelly of the truck that would allow you to get through any weather or terrain. The stainless plate also protects every aspect and component of the truck. Overall it is a truck of many great features that I have not seen before on other vehicles of any kind.

Great tech, lack of luxury materials.
The lariat package is nice but overpriced for what was included. It does have the fancy navigation system, Bluetooth stereo, heated seats, back up camera, etc. A lot of technology, which is fine, but I wish the lariat would have paid more attention to using more upscale materials, ie: real wood dash, better quality leather and less plastic parts. It seems to be just expensive junky materials that were used.

What Problems Does the 2014 Ford F-150 Have?

The 2014 Ford F-150 has fewer complaints and is a better choice than other half-ton trucks. There are also a lower number of issues with the 2014 model compared to the redesigned 2015.

Engine problems, including shutting off while driving, are the most common issue. Some owners report replacing the throttle body fixes the problem, but others need to scan the engine with an OBD-II scan tool to check for codes.

Vibrations while braking are another common problem. There are several causes including worn rotors, pads, and tires. Replacing the rotors and pads usually costs about $400.

Stereo system problems are also mentioned by owners. Strange noises coming from the speakers are usually a sign of a loose connection, and re-tightening or replacing the connections usually solves the issue.

There are 6 recalls affecting the truck, which is better than other full size trucks from 2014. The recalls include loss of steering control, brake lights, airbags, master cylinder, and seat belt bolts. All are serious since they affect the safety of the vehicle.

Had the vehicle only a few months. Have had no problems. Went on short road and it was so smooth it felt like I was in a luxury car.

accountCircle Alex W

For the most part it is a reliable car. In the past there have been small issues with the battery and the driver side window not working properly.

accountCircle Jared M

The undercoating on the truck rusts quite easily. My truck is fairly new but it does have some considerable rusting underneath.

accountCircle Michael G

I have never had a problem with it. I keep it serviced as factory suggests and at the dealer. It had several recalls but nothing major.

accountCircle Mona S

No problems so far. It's very reliable as it has a really strong engine. Has good gas mileage. Is very useful for our catering event's.

accountCircle Sharon L

I haven't had any problems so far. I would like for it to have step down tailgate. I would like to have a pull handle on the driver side, there is one on the passenger side.

accountCircle tara h

It is very reliable and I can travel with ease and no worries far with the comfort of knowing I will be fine and not get stranded.

accountCircle Allison H

It is the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. Our previous f150 saved our lives in an accident we were in. . The only problems I have come across is the fact that you have to have 2 keys to program the sync program in the truck so that you can use your radio and controls.

What Technology & Safety Features Are Included?

Very Reliable Truck
I own a 2014 f150 xl regular cab, 2 wheel drive, with a coyote v8 engine and 8' bed. I currently have 100,000 + miles on this truck. It has been a great vehicle. I have made sure all the regular required maintenances on this truck were completed. I have replaced the brake rooters and water pump. I have also replaced all the basic items like window wipes, light bulbs, air filter, battery, belts, plugs and tires as needed. I get 15-18 miles per gallon in town and 21-23 on the highway. I have changed the oil every 5,000 miles. It is a very quiet running truck and the cab has lots of room. I am amazed how quiet the cab is when driving. I have been on numerous cross country trip and enjoy driving this vehicle. The truck has been through numerous sever weather events with this truck and I was kept safe because of its reliability. The only draw back I have found is that the turning ratios is not that tight and parking tends to be a challenge due to the size. I have determined that if you will keep up with maintaining your vehicle, it will be reliable , dependable and probable out last you.

Anyone else have severe speed drops?
I have absolutely loved my Ford F150 EcoBoost, XLT truck. A problem has recently started, I’ve had it in 3 times in 2 weeks, the last time to the local Ford dealership. No answers, driving away the symptom appeared again between 30-40mph. The problem had been just at around 71 mph. The problem: very quick speed drops, the truck can jerk, the speedometer goes up and down. Once on the expressway this happened and it slowed so fast the tires squealed. Very concerning obviously. No codes, all service up to date, has 133,000 miles. No Technician has had happen while test driving, although without codes I would think description would be enough. By $ process of elimination diagnosing has been attempted. No answers although in 3 times, still happening. Wondering if anyone has any ideas? I did write a clear and assertive text to the rep, the service tech will “get back to” me. Thank you, Joe Tierney.

Truck reliability
My 2014 F150 STX w/5.0L Coyote outperformed my expectations. I traveled from Pooler Ga to Palm Beach Fl, (417 miles to my final destination) with a 26-gallon tank full was more than enough to make the trip without stopping for gas. I refueled at arrival with 1/8 fuel remaining (roughly about 50 miles to empty) on 4th of July 22. I was in awe. I could not believe this V8 could get that kind of gas mileage very impressed. Since new, I have replaced the front rotors and pads with Fleet type parts, which are more robust and longer-lasting parts directly from my local dealer. I also replaced the tires with quality Light truck Michelin tires. No powertrain issues. Very happy with my truck.

Love this truck. The 3.5 ecoboost is absolutely amazing. Performs well, tows well and gets around 20 mpg on average. Nothing can touch this truck in its class. Not the hemi. Not the Toyota 5.7 and not the Chevy 5.3 or 6.0. Not the smoothest ride, a lot of cabin noise but other than that this truck is a work horse. Would highly recommend

Truck drives good, gets good mileage, it's not top of the line but has enough comforts for audio, on board systems and plenty of room in front and back. I have never had an issues out of any major mechanical systems. It is reliable, and has enough power to pull a boat, pull others out of a ditch, go to the beach and not get stuck. So comfortable it is hard to believe you are in a pick up truck.
This vehicle is now six years old and other than normal maintenance and consumables, it has been extremely reliable. The ride is comfortable and does not feel as if you are driving a pickup truck. I am most impressed with the power the eco-six produces and the ability to haul reasonably heavy homeowner household loads.

I love my 2014 ford f150 platinum.
I really enjoy my ford f-150 XLT (4 door with standard cabin/bed). The car drives very smoothly and is extremely stable. The seats are very comfortable, and there is an enormous amount of leg room (especially for the back seats), which allows me to go on long road trips without feeling cramped and uncomfortable. Along with that, the 'bells and whistles' (like the sound system, ambient lighting, and led display), makes the truck look luxurious. My only qualm with the truck, however, is that the mpg is not as great as my last car (Chevy camaro),all but that is to be expected given that the truck is way bigger and requires way more gas. On the plus side of that, though, I rarely have to refill my gas tank because the tank is huge. All in all, I love my truck and I highly recommend.

Living in Texas having the ford is great because the air conditioning is great no matter if you need supper cold or extremely warm.

All you really need in a truck!
Vehicle has been reliable with minimal issues or repairs needed since I have owned it. Installed a roof rack for hauling extra items. Towing capabilities are good for most typical loads for the average user. Rides smooth and handles well. Good size interior with plenty of room for driver and passengers.

That it is wide so be cautious when making turns.
It is one of the best trucks you can own. And there is a lot of space inside to the whole family can go for a ride.

F-150 is a solid truck for the every man or woman.
Ford makes a great truck. It is large enough for a family and roughed enough for a contractor's job. The room in the front is excellent and the back seat feels like a sofa seat. The truck bed is plenty long for any kind of hauling necessary. The Bluetooth is an added bonus that makes phone calls and listening to music a breeze.

It can haul my atv to wherever I want to go.
Love my truck it has lots of room for me and can haul my atv anytime. It is a smooth ride, it has 4x4, can with ease get around in the winter snow. It is white it gets good gas mileage. It has a back set so there is always room for extra people or to haul or move whatever needs to be moved or hauled around. This is not my first ford truck have had several of them. Love 4x4 trucks and ford is the best truck made love it.

Comfortable and very functional no matter where you take it!
I have always driven a ford-150 and it is the only vehicle I'll ever drive. I absolutely love this truck, especially with the king ranch style interior. I have not had any problems with my truck and the ride is smooth and quiet. After broken in, the seats are very comfortable and easy to sit in for long road trips. I have taken this truck on a 12 hour straight road trip across Texas and had zero problem and got there safe and comfortably! Not only is this truck great for country driving and maneuvering land with no roads, it is also easy to drive in big cities. One feature I love is how smart the technology is! It runs its own diagnostics through the computer and the gas mileage information is always very accurate.

Great truck for work and family.
Great truck no mechanical problems and gets good gas mileage. Comfortable and roomy enough for a family and all they're sports gear. The truck bed has plenty of room to carry everything from sheets of plywood to kayaks. I have only towed small boats with it but no loss of power even on the highway.

Dependable and trustworthy.
Vehicle has few problems, performs well, is reliable, and is comfortable. I use the truck for running around town for errands and for hauling stuff. It is the second truck I have owned. The first truck I owned, I kept for 30 years and the truck had 300,000 miles on. I do not expect to put that many miles on my current truck, but I probably could.

My reliable ford f-150 for the win.
My 2014 ford f-150 is amazing. Not only does it have astonishing looks but it also has an abundance of interior space which is great for the whole family. It is perfect for carrying trailers for moving needs and more. I have been having my truck for 4 years and it has not given me any problems as I have had all it is maintenance done.

Reliable pickup especially for hard working individuals.
Reliable truck. Use it for home improvement as well as all other work and outdoor related activities. Berliner holds up well with coarse materials. Suspension holds well under severe load. I'd definitely purchase another ford pickup. They are excellent for blue collar work. Highly recommend.

There are likely better options for the money but the ride and comfort is good.
Love how it rides. Gas mileage is decent. Comfortable and spacious. Dislike the fact that the electric system is bad. Windows go up and down hitting small bumps. Radio hasn't worked for a year and the local ford store can't fix it. Suggests I go to a 3rd party.

Space and dependability that is the truck has plus towing.
I love my truck for all that it does. I know I have put it through hell but I wouldn't trade it for any other vehicle in the whole world. I will forever keep my truck.

Ford Truck FX2 has amazing attention to detail.
It's an amazing truck that has all the bells and whistles. Navigation, Bose sound system, and pull package. It has Bluetooth connectivity, A/C and heated leather seats, and it came with lifetime Sirius XM. The 5.0L V8 engine makes it so nothing can stop it. Only downfall is the mileage.
accountCircle Justin F on March 22, 2021
The truck handles very well and does really well with towing
The only problem that I have is the back up camera does not work all the time. I have taken the truck in to get looked at but apparently it only happens when it's really hot outside. The console does not go up to the dash. That room could have been made for more cup holders.
accountCircle Russell S on March 22, 2021
The vehicle drives smooth with little to no chatter on the tires at higher speeds.
I like that I can haul accessories for my home. The one thing I dislike are the suicide doors. It is not fun using them when grocery shopping.

2014 blue lifted f150 fx4.
I have a 2014 f-150. It is a great vehicle. I love the sync technology by Microsoft that allows the radio to sync with my phone. The four wheel drive works great and will go up any hill in the snow. The traction control is a great feature but I usually turn it off when it is not raining and seems to help my gas mileage.
accountCircle Diana D on March 17, 2021
Best car ever! It is a must have car for the family.
It is a very reliable car and less maintenance. It has a powerful engine, four wheel drive and big compartment to load things like groceries and other stuff. I am overall satisfied with this car and I think it is a must to have. Highly recommended. Five stars!

Great off road vehicle. Very smooth riding lots of power.
Really great. Use for work and play. Has roush supercharger runs very well. I drive 80 percent off highway it rides wonderfully. I really love it. Fuel mileage is not good if your looking for fuel mileage do not buy it. Have had some issues with it had new motor at 40000 miles covered by warranty. Since that no issues to speak of just normal service breaks etc.

Very economical and practical.
The f150 is extremely spacious and fun to drive. It handles very well and provides smooth driving for comfort. To date there have been no problems with the vehicle. The back up camera is nice too! We love the computerized dash and the folding rear seats really help when transporting our dogs or groceries when it is raining outside.

The ford f-150 is a good heavy duty truck that can lift anything you put on it.
It is a bit used, and I had a bit of small accidents pertaining to the vehicle. Other than that, I think the f 150 is a great pickup, and it can sure lift stuff. Very heavy duty truck, but just remember to keep it in good condition (oil, cleanliness, gas type, etc.).

How dependable and comfortable it is.
I love how safe I feel in it. I think the ride is very comfortable. Its handles well in bad weather. It handles really good on snowy roads. It has not required any repairs since owning. It is the best vehicle for traveling.
