The 2019 Ford F-150 lasts around 250,000 miles with some minor transmission and engine software issues reported. At $29,222 to $70,440, it’s expensive, but worth the money for one of the best full size trucks on the market.

likeFilled The Good
There’s a lot of safety technology available, the engines all offer good power and it’s excellent off-road.
dislikeFilled The Bad
It’s less luxurious than other large trucks, the suspension is a bit firm and the real world V6 fuel economy is lower than the estimates.

Black pick up truck leather interior.
Very comfortable, nice interior, and exterior. Great for work or long road trips. Tow boat, drive through floods, everyday vehicle as well. Great on gas for being a pick up truck. Wouldn't be happy with any other truck. When I think of a truck I think of ford.

7th F150. Another winner.
I am driving my latest (2019) F150 and it is a great truck. Chose the XLT, super crew, 4x4, 3.5, Max Tow. Has lots of features and tows our camper extremely well. Would recommend this truck to everyone. Give up Chevy and Dodge, Ford continues to raise the bar!

Great truck. Ford f-150 limited. You'll never drive anything else.
No problems at all. Drives perfectly pretty good on gas. Also has massage seats. Live in the city and work in the country so weather sometimes is an issue. But not for my ford. It always gets me where I need to go. I just had the spray liner put in. A must to complete the package.

Great truck, always reliable!
I have had zero problems with the truck thus far. It has all of the features that one could imagine, minus leather seats (which I am not a fan of). Ford always produces a reliable truck, and this f-150 is no different. Gas mileage is great (18 mpg) for the payload, and it being a 2.7l v6. I have the Texas package so there is chrome all over, with upsized 20' rims. Aftermarket I did a leveling kit, 35' tires, bed cover and neoprene seat covers. Nothing has affected the trucks performance at all.

I am very pleased with my 2019 ford f-150 lariat.
I have not experienced any problems with the vehicle to date. My only issue would be having to purchase the step side and it not being included with the vehicle. The vehicle interior is very comfortable and roomy. One issue is the rear seat will not stay in the upright position for transportation of cargo. I intend to take this in for service and do not anticipate a problem with getting it repaired.

An interesting detail about my car is how smooth it runs.
I really love my vehicle there no problems, the performance is really great I would suggest you to get one. I really rely on my car. My car is comfortable and the features are really great. So from my review I suggest you to get one so you can have the best performance in life.

Ford f150 is both comfortable and reliable.
Truck is super comfortable. Crew cab is spacious. Bed is decently sized. Truck overall is pretty quiet which is a huge plus if you have kids. For a truck it is also surprisingly good on gas. There is also plenty of room underneath the second row for you to place any items you might not necessarily want sitting on the seats themselves or in the back of the truck.

Dusty Interior
Bought a new 2019 in Jan and have only 2000 km on it, but the interior dust is the worst we have ever seen. We drive on grid roads and highway, but the door seals look fine. It is a fine static like dust everywhere!!!! The dealership says it is an issue with a filter/vent behind the rear seat that is an engineering problem that Ford is well aware of. Changing the filter involves removing the back seat, and does not fix the problem. They claim they have helped many by almost completely sealing off the vent, but Ford will not cover the cost of this repair. There is so much dust you cannot stand it. Have talked to some people who just traded off their almost new vehicles because they did not want to deal with this BS. I get that...

3 sets of Braks 300 miles
Ford "claims" they cant explain the brakes burning up ever hundred miles or so. They cant Explain the Collision Avoidance system Locking the BRakes up on the highway with nor other cars around. They Cant explain the Transmission slamming up and down in certain gears or it Slamming into gear after its in park! TOTAL disappointment of a truck. NOTE: I have been a FORD owner form over 30 years and they have convinced me they don't want our business just our money! Would NOT recommend ANYONE Purchase these Trucks they are UNSAFE! Burning oil
My 2018 was much better had no problems with it . All kinds of problems with my 2019 been in the shop four times for burning through oil and noises from Engine . I have had 4 F1 50s in a row and can’t say I will be getting another one after this

CarPlay and transmission issues.
Been in the shot 4 times already. Problems with the transmission not shifting correctly. Also, issues with CarPlay not working or the radio freezing up and resetting on its own. This happens often enough where I cannot rely on just using the mapping, I have to look at it first before driving, in case it resets on me again. Comfort in the vehicle is fine.

Unsafe transmission and horrible gas mileage
When temp outside is below 40 degrees and go out and start truck and put it in gear the truck will jump about a foot backwards even if you select drive and brake will not hold it. I struggle to get 17 mpg with a v6 that is rated to get 24 mpg on the highway.

What Do Critics Say About the Ford F-150?

  • Consumer Reports says the 2019 Ford F-150 offers a nice mix of comfort and performance with high owner satisfaction scores.
  • Edmunds rates the F-150 at 3.9/5, praising the very comfortable interior, but doesn’t like the rough suspension.
  • Kelley Blue Book users give the 2019 F-150 a 4.6/5, enjoying the very strong engine choices, but don’t like the low fuel economy.

What Common Problems Does the 2019 Ford F-150 Have?

Common problems found on the 2019 Ford F-150 include excessive oil consumption, the transmission not changing gears properly, as well as a frozen stereo system. Overall, these problems are similar to other full size trucks, leading to average repair costs as well.

Excessive oil consumption is the most widespread complaint from 2019 Ford F-150 owners at around 8,000 miles. There is a new software update for the engines which reduces the intake vacuum, leading to less oil being consumed. Most dealerships install this software update for free, while some charge around $100.

The transmission not changing gears properly with the ten-speed automatic has also shown up on some F-150 models in the first 5,000 miles. Updating the transmission software improves the shift patterns, making it more reliable. Nearly all dealerships install the update for free when the truck is being serviced, although some may charge roughly $100.

A frozen stereo system has also been reported with the Sync 3 infotainment system. Simply restarting the truck usually fixes the problem if it locks up. This problem can also be fixed by software updates if the stereo system is freezing repeatedly, which usually are installed for free.

There are six recalls on the 2019 Ford F-150, which is fewer than some other large trucks on the market. The most serious recall covers the block heater connector, which may short out. Ford will replace the engine block heater connector for free on affected trucks. Other recalls cover the rearview camera, and daytime running lights, which Ford will also fix for free.

How Long Will the 2019 Ford F-150 Last?

A well-maintained 2019 Ford F-150 can last around 250,000 miles, which is slightly less than the ultra-long-lasting Toyota Tundra. Regular annual maintenance costs are lower than many other trucks, according to data provided by Repair Pal, at $398 per year.

As a used 2019 Ford F-150 reaches 100,000 miles, and depending on the vehicle history, owners should be prepared to replace the brake hose for $200, the thermostat costing $580, as well as the transmission oil cooler line, which costs $300.

accountCircle Arlene C

The only problems besides the 2 recalls is the sunroof leaked. Recall is for the tailgate can open while you are driving. The other one is for replacing the battery cable.

accountCircle Anthony H

So far so good. I have only had it for a few months but haven't had any issues with it so far. Performs excellent.

accountCircle Victor B

Yes! It is my daily driver and so far there have been no problems presented to me with my 2019 ford f-150 xl model.

accountCircle Mark W

I have been driving my f150 for a little over a year and have I yet to encounter one problem so I would rate this vehicle very high on reliability. It performs well in all weather as I live in Ohio so this truck has seen it all and has passed with flying colors.

accountCircle Tyler F

No problems whatsoever. It is the best truck on the market. I have purchase one for the last 15 years.

accountCircle Vanessa R

It is very reliable, I feel very safe driving this vehicle. It has a front and back camera so you can see all around you.

accountCircle Faye K

In general, the truck is very reliable. However, the cost of maintenance at the dealership is very steep compared to a non-ford shop.

accountCircle Zack W

The vehicle is very reliable and no problems have been noted to date. Engine runs smooth and all technology works well.

How Is the Technology?

Entertainment technology is good in the 2019 Ford F-150 with a standard 4.2-inch display on the fleet-focused XL model. The XLT and higher models have an 8-inch touchscreen with Sync 3 which features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Safety technology is also very good since it has a standard rearview camera with dynamic hitch assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, as well as automatic high-beam headlights. Optional advanced safety features include a surround-view parking camera system, rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, active park assist, lane keep assist, Ford MyKey, as well as stop-and-go adaptive cruise control.

Is the 2019 Ford F-150 a Good Value?

Yes, the 2019 Ford F-150 is a good value since it’s a dependable truck, which also offers good performance for the money. The blue book fair purchase price ranges from $29,222 to $70,440, making it more than a GMC Sierra or Ram 1500. When new, the price range was $28,155 to $70,560. What Are the Differences Between Years?

The 13th generation of the Ford F-150 came out in 2015, and was replaced by the 14th generation in 2021.

2015: Fully redesigned for the 13th generation with new styling, engines, and technology.

2016: Pro Trailer Backup Assist system added, Sync 3 infotainment system offered.

2017: Raptor model introduced, more powerful turbocharged 3.5L V6 engine.

2018: Minor exterior styling changes, updated 10-speed automatic transmission, and new engine choices.

2019: New diesel engine available, larger 36 gallon tank on Limited and Raptor models, forward collision warning with emergency braking also added.

How Does the Ford F-150 Compare to the Competition?

The 2019 Ford F-150 is one of the best trucks available for the 2019 model year since it offers a lot of technology, and the highest towing capacity of any half-ton pickup truck.

The Toyota Tundra is another truck available which costs about $5,000 more. Where the Toyota Tundra stands out is with better long-term reliability ratings, while the Ford F-150 has a higher towing capacity and better off-road capabilities. We recommend the Toyota Tundra for many shoppers, although both are among the best trucks worth checking out.

The Ram 1500 is a competitor, which is about $4,000 cheaper. Interior materials are more luxurious in the Ram 1500, while the Ford F-150 has some stronger engine choices available. We recommend the Ford F-150 since it’s a more reliable choice with lower ownership costs as it ages.

Yes there are so many things to love about this vehicle. In my opinion this vehicle passes all the tests. I love the sleek exterior look and the roominess the cab offers. Comfort is really at a premium. For being a larger truck, the f150 handles very smooth much like a smaller vehicle. The technology of this vehicle is also very impressive. Comfortable and spacious
First off, I have the XLT Sport with a 5.0 8 cylinder. The good: very quiet inside of cab while driving, spacious roomy interior, gauge layout/design, nice sound system, has tons of towing power, very quick and gets up to a high speed quickly and I love the Race Red color (very sharp). The bad: AC evaporator leaks (installed a rubber elbow on drain line to fix), doors seem like they aren't aligned properly, radio unit locks up periodically, and I do not like the auto shut off when the truck stops and having to press the button every time to turn it off. Overall, I like my Ford but seems like the quality control should have been better. I get compliments on my truck all the time but of course, I keep it showroom new. One big reason I bought a Ford truck is due to the coyote 302 ci engine.

2019 F150 4x4 IWE Issues & TSB 20-2307 (controversial fix)
Ford TSB 20-2307 / Grinding/Clicking/Ratcheting Noise From Front Wheel Area & Ford's latest answer to fixing this problem which is considered unacceptable by many Ford 4x4 owners, as well as being described as merely a bandaid fix. This is a problem that has plagued many of the 4x4 F150's as far back as 2006. Search the web for Ford IWE issues and you will find an abundance of info/complaints about this ongoing problem, especially in the many Ford forums that discuss this issue. Link for description and pictures of Ford's (TSB) fix - https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10181917-0001.pdf Our 2019 (Lariat) is very nice and enjoyed driving it for 3 + years until this recently started happening to it!! Thing of beauty
I purchased my F150 in June of 2019. I had it lifted and went with 10-ply mud/highway tires. It rides smooth, it's quiet, gorgeous inside and out. It's loaded with many extras and my gas mileage is 20 on the highway and 17 to 18 in the city. The power from the 450 HP 3.5 high output engine is strong and smooth, although I sometimes catch a little lag when accelerating but the new Peddle Commander took care of that. Out at the ranch it handles the soft sugar sand, clay and hills like a champ. I'm still waiting for the new 2022 Limited but the way things are I'll be waiting a long time so for now I'm enjoying the heck out of my F150 Limited.

Things I love about my truck.
It has all safety features such as it will stop if I get to close and it adjust to the car speed in front of me. The reason I love these functions is because of my age and it is like the truck has a mind of its own. I also love the 26 gallon tank that means I can drive 423 miles before I have to get fuel.

There is nothing wrong with my vehicle. I love it, drive it everyday. Has plenty of power for the engine option I have (2.7 ecoboost) the 10 speed transmission shifts smoothly. The interior of the truck is very spacious and roomy. Highly recommend the f150.

Cheapest f150 available and I love it.
I have had no issues with my truck. I purchased the lowest trim level with a naturally aspirated v6. I get 23 mpg around town with plenty of power. It is comfortable. I wish that I opted for power windows because I can't reach the passenger side window from the driver's seat. This is not an issue with the truck. I also wish that I would have gotten cruise control as well. Other than that, this low trim level gives me everything that I need. I have 16,000 trouble free miles on it. I have only done oil changes. The 3.3 has almost 300 horsepower. This may not compare to an eco boost, but it is plenty. I do my own oil changes and this truck is easy to maintain. The aluminum body will not rust. The aluminum tailgate is extremely light and easy to lift. Zero complaints.

Loved it at first but not so much anymore
It runs like a sports car, loved it at first but the little things that I can’t do anything about are annoying. I work in oilfield so It’s also my office and part time home. Dome lights goes off and won’t come back on without keys, can’t leave keys in ignition because the dinger doesn’t unhook. It dings and beeps every time I do something. Blue tooth goes back and forth to phone or speakers on its own, it clatters like a diesel when idling, valve chatter when I take off now, defroster has a mind of its own, both front door speakers blown and sound crackly, and the cargo lamp and tail gate lock aren’t made for work truck. Headlights are Terrible and no power to anything like phone charger or power point after a few minutes not running. FORD please give us drivers back the control over these very expensive vehicles that we did purchase so we should make the decision about it not you....

Roomy, comfortable and reliable.
There have been some minor electrical glitches with the windshield wipers but otherwise the truck rides nice- it is very comfortable and roomy inside, it has a lot of power and is reliable. We are easily able to pull our 25 foot trailer camper with it.

Great for long trips, plenty of leg room and rides smoothly.
My vehicle is reliable, comfortable, and drives smoothly. There is plenty of room in the cab, both front and back seat. I love all the features that are included with carplay and I appreciate how simple navigating through it is. The camera system is clear and accurate. One feature I do wish the vehicle came with is a sound alert that would alarm when you are backing up the vehicle and get too close to an object.

Tons of fun, in love with this truck!
I haven't had any issues since purchase of my truck. It is super comfortable and fun to drive. It is very reliable and always gets me where I need to go. It tows everything I need to haul and still has a comfortable ride. Sport mode is a blast and really opens up the experience on long drives.

Great truck, would recommend.
It is amazing. Comfortable, easy to drive. It is easy to tow trailers, boats, etc with. Would totally recommend this truck to anyone who is looking for a vehicle. Great gas mileage especially for long trips. Apple car play is awesome. Wouldn’t trade this truck for any other vehicle.

Favorite part of the truck is definitely the sports mode.
This vehicle is easy to get around in and has a reasonable price when it comes to filling up. Very roomy and suitable. Has a great ac. I personally have never experienced any problems with this truck so far. Highly recommended as a family vehicle due to how spacious it is.

Looks tough, durable. But together well.
The comfort in my ford is great. There is lots of legroom and cup holders. I really like how it doesn't take long to get warm or have the ac to kick on. Cold fast. Decent on gas if you live and work in town. I like how I can plug in my phone and I can use my GPS. Very confident.

F150 limited best vehicle ever!
F150 limited is the most awesome vehicle on the road comfort like a luxury car and performance of corvette. It has the double turbocharged engine that responds like a supercar always makes me grin. Get one if you can they are rare as well. Never a moment's trouble.

Smooth ride, massage seats, great gas miles, comfortable. Best truck I have ever owned. Safe car. Plenty of air bags, great surround sound. Plenty of space for 2 car seats. Customer services is great. Radio is nice. Seats are very comfortable. We take car on long road trips and have been very pleased.

I love the back window that opens.
When plugging phone into vehicle it's difficult to go back to the normal screen. Drives great, spacious, overall great vehicle. Updates me on what services is needed. Easy to follow instructions on dashboard. Very comfortable and enough room for child seats.

Super awesome raptor! Buy one!
It is super comfortable and is very responsive for a truck. Although we have had it for a short time we have not had any reliability issues. This truck is super awesome to look at and is top of the line. It is comfortable for our family of 4 and the dog.

Full size truck that maneuvers easily.
This review is for the 2019 ford f-150. This model is the three door model. I like that the back door folds all the way to the side giving you plenty of access to the back seat so you can load stuff there with ease. Also I like the turning radius on this truck model. Makes it super easy to maneuver and park even though it is a full size truck.

This truck is the best of the best.
This is truly an amazing vehicle. It is dependable and safe. Whether it is an everyday driver or used a work truck. Comfortable and modern styling. This vehicle is roomy and the ride is smooth no complaints whatsoever. I have owned 5 - f150s and this is by far my favorite.

Ford f-150 2019 best truck.
Superb performance, good on gas, drives like a care, extremely reliable, safety features, one of the most reliable trucks in the market. The moment you drive it, you can appreciate how smooth is the ride. The cabin is very roomy and comfortable. Very happy with my ford-f150.

Bed has lights! Nice truck interior!
With the 5.0 engine, you’d expect it to have more power, but that seems to lag a bit. It is a nice truck, leather, remote start, but no push button start. That said, there’s a lot of room in the back for things you might need to load up or what not. The spray in Berliner is nice too. Plus, there’s a button the push located in the bed of the truck to turn the bed lights on.

Overall, I definitely recommend this vehicle and it is very safe.
My vehicle is amazing! It is very spacious, and has very high class technology. Very easy to use and navigate! If you have young children, the vehicle automatically locks on its own once you start the car, and is overall extremely safe. I have never really encountered any severe problems yet!

Very spacious! So much room!
I absolutely love my 2019 ford f-150. There is so much room that we actually use it for a family vehicle. Very reliable! No problems at all. Drives like a dream! My favorite feature about this vehicle is the space and comfort that it creates. I wouldn't trade it for anything else.

Get noticed driving by in a ford f-150 stx.
No problems at all. I purchased the truck late November of 2019. I only have 900 miles on it. Truck is very comfortable and the twin turbo engine has lots of power. I have the stx sport version that looks very sharp with the bumpers and grille painted the same as the truck. The rear seating area is huge.

Towing capacity of the f-150.
The 2019 f-150 with a 5.0l coyote performs great. With a towing capacity of 11,000 lbs I can tow my 16 ft trailer and boat with no problem. The interior of my crew cab is extremely spacious and has ample room for storage. I have the base model xl but with the fx4 package which will come with trailer backup assist. Personally, I have never used it though. I have 8000 miles on the odometer and hear good things about the reliability of the 5.0l.

Great truck strong engine large cab.
Vehicle is great not a fan of the cloth armrest on the XLT model. Seats are very comfortable, and there is plenty of room in the cab of the truck. Engine is very strong. I have had no issues with the 3.5 ecoboost. This is my 3rd f150 with the ecoboost.

Awesome interior! Huge, plenty of legroom!
I love the interior of my truck. The back seat is huge! And my most favorite part is the double glass sunroof. The center council is set up nice with almost all touch screen controls which I also like. Another great feature is the automatic start. It is a life saver in the winter!

EATS BRAKES
I have owned Fords since 1986! THis truck is a piece of JUNK 3 sets of BRakes and Rotors in 350 yes Three hunder and fifty MILES and the dealer cant explain it.
I love my race red ford f-150.
I love my 2019 race red ford f-150! I leased my first ford f-150 back in 2015 and do not plan to ever go back to any vehicle other than a ford f-150 truck. This vehicle is so convenient and comfortable, and rides so smoothly. I feel like I can haul anything in the truck bed or towed behind!

Performance is well, should have more space in carrier, features is good.
Mileage should be more so that we can afford it easily. There should be more space for carrier. Performance is good, easily controlled. Good in reliability. Its highly comfortable with space. F-150 offers not only available best-in-class payload, but also a pickup bed that can be equipped to make work easier and maximize productivity.

2019 ford f-150 is a great truck and has many features that make life easier.
I have enjoyed my ford f-150 xl stx 4x4. The 10 speed transmission has done extremely well while pulling my 16' Car hauler. With a mustang being pulled, the 2.7 liter turbo motor equipped with the 10 speed transmission got 16-17 mpg @70 mph. Going uphill in tow mode it had no issues maintaining speed while pulling the trailer. The seats are very comfortable on short and long drives. The rear seats are very spacious and lift up out of the way when needed. The auto start feature is one of the few features I wish I could disable permanently. Having to turn it off every time I start the vehicle is not enjoyable. The sync android interface is decent but offers to use the google maps which is very helpful. In the winter the vehicle did well in snow and ice. The ford app needs some improvement and unfortunately does not offer remote start from the phone app. Overall the performance of the turbo engine has exceeded my expectations. It accelerates well in traffic and on the highway. The shift on fly 4x4 mode is very nice to have when severe weather hits and also works well on dirt roads. Remote tailgate locking is a great feature and helps when you need to unlock the tailgate quickly. Overall I the truck has been a great investment, it still needs to go in for a recall, but I haven't had any issues that the recall was issued for.

My vehicle is amazing and I absolutely love it and recommend it.
It is very safe and is a super nice car. Does not feel like you are driving a truck. Only problem is skidding when trying to accelerate quickly. This will only happen when you are in a rush and pulling out on to a freeway or main road. It is not an issue very much but has happened before.
accountCircle Justin M on March 13, 2021
10/10 recommend this truck to anyone who needs a truck or 4x4.
This truck has the right about of towing and hauling power. Lots of useful tech, not a lot of overblown tech that I never use. The snow mode mixed with 4 auto was amazing on a snowy highway. Rides smooth for a truck. Best of all, no issues to report.
accountCircle Tracy J on March 8, 2021
The ford f-150 offers the best ride ever!
Leg room for my growing family was a must, and this truck has it. There is more than enough room for everyone and it is a comfortable ride! The adjustable driver side seat makes it easy for me to get the perfect position to drive from. The control panel screen is bigger than vehicles I have owned in the past and allows for easy GPS routing- no more trying to use my phone and drive at the same time! The user friendly touch screen makes it easy to just input the destination and follow the directions from there. The hauling capacity also comes in handy. We are planning a move to a new state, and I will be pulling a trailer which will be done easily with this truck! Love it!

Ford f-150 xl review on specs and body.
The seats are very comfortable, and it comes with a great stock sound system. The 3.3l v6 engine is very reliable and the 205bhp can easily get you wherever you need to go. The only downside to this vehicle would be the single cab due to the fact that you can only carry yourself and two other people.
accountCircle Kelsey H on March 5, 2021
Ford f-150 lariat package.
Only problem I have encountered is with the automatic side mirrors, they do not click into place well. Super comfortable with the heated and a/c seats, rides extremely smooth. Air conditioning works great. Back up camera is very helpful along with how high the truck sits, you can see a lot on the road.

Great overall vehicle. 2nd f-150 with ecoboost motor that I have owned!
Great power. Love different transmission modes especially for towing/hauling. Love the tow capacity. Wish I would have gotten dual climate control and will need to add tow mirrors for pulling a pontoon boat. Very happy with 6.5 ft bed with crew cab. All interior has held up very well especially with a 3 year old in the back seat. 3.5l twin turbo motor gives more than enough power and has great pick up speed.

F-150 does anything and everything!
I love my f-150. It rides very smoothly, the back seat is roomy. I was able to carry three dogs and a newborn in the backseat without having any issues. I feel really safe in the truck. It has a pre collision alert that goes off if you are approaching a vehicle too close and too fast. I would definitely recommend someone getting and f-150 for an all around vehicle.
