Alex Showalter
Sep 12, 2023

The 2019 Ford Fiesta lasts around 200,000 miles with some minor transmission software and A/C system issues reported. At $10,250 to $18,950, it’s a great value for a small car built to get you from point A to B without a lot of drama.

likeFilled The Good
Steering is sporty and fun for a small car, the available touchscreen is easy to use and the ST model is quick.

The base engine is very weak even for a small car, the trunk in the sedan is small and there’s not a lot of safety features available.

Is the 2019 Ford Fiesta a Good Used Car?

  • Value 8/10 – The 2019 Ford Fiesta is a good value since it’s cheaper than many other competitors while still offering average depreciation rates as it ages.

The ford fiesta is a very reliable car and perfect for college students.
It is a very reliable car. It is perfect for college students who are leaving home. The car has spacious front seating. It also possesses quality air conditioning with a touch screen built in Bluetooth stereo. The car does not require a gas cap, so there is no stress of finding a cap that fits if it were to break.

My little car is very affordable.
I absolutely love my little car. It is compact, but just the perfect size for me. I go everywhere in my little car. I can get in and out of tight places easily. I love the color of my car. I really love the fact that I can listen to music while I am riding down the road. I also love the fact that it has a hatchback, I am able to carry lots of small items inside the hatchback. I think the hatchback makes my little car look kind of sporty. It has a really good ac, and it is good on gas. I also like the fact that it has a rear windshield wiper, when it rains, the rear wiper really comes in handy. I plan to keep my little car for a really long time. I would rather have my little car, than any other kind of car in the world.

The 2019 ford fiesta is an affordable option for an everyday car.
The 2019 ford fiesta is a great little car. It is a basic car without all the bells and whistles, but this makes the car very affordable. I am very comfortable in this car there is roomy. I have had the car for a year and it hasn't had any problems yet. Nice little car.

After 10 years, this car is a breath of fresh air.
I have only had the car for four days, but I have not found anything that I do not like about the car. I love the backup camera because it is really clear. I appreciate the blind spot mirrors. Filling up the gas tank is easier with nothing to unscrew. The trunk is a great size and the back seats fold down in case you need more room. The high beams are great. The ride is smooth. I like the safety features of child and window locks and the auto door lock when you are in drive. The center console is oddly shaped. I have not found a way to organize it yet. I think it might be too deep. The sound system is great. I love being able to connect my music and audio books. The sound is so good I do not mind sitting in holiday traffic. There are an awesome number of cup holders. The cruise control is a lot easier to use than my older car. I am a teacher and my students and kids think that the car is cute. It is comfortable and I love the head room. It is very easy to park and it turns nicely.

I like that there’s upgraded features, while it is still an affordable car.
It has great gas mileage and it is super comfortable. It does have a backup camera, which I really like, but I wish the screen was larger. It also has Bluetooth which I love to use for hands-free driving. My main issue is that there’s less legroom in the back because it is such a compact car.

My ford fiesta is very reliable. I loved the size and amazing gas mileage on it.
Overall I love my ford fiesta, it is a great first car because it is so easy to drive. It is on the smaller side but, it is still a great simple car. If your buying a ford fiesta for a new driver it has this awesome feature called mykey which allows you to set boundaries, speed control, volume control and more. The Bluetooth system is great, it is very clear when your talking on the phone and sounds amazing. In some models there is ambient lighting which is very nice and the car is small but spacious at the same time.

Comfortable 2019 ford fiesta.
I haven't had any problems with my 2019 ford fiesta. It is very comfortable and the extra features like the back up camera and the heated seats make up for the lack of extra space. Despite the small size, it still feels roomy enough for at least 4 people.

The interior looks sporty.
It is a very good car, great on gas mileage. Looks sporty and is a comfortable car in the driver and passenger seat, but it is very small in the back. Pretty average on reliability had a few problems the horn does not work anymore, and the blinker went out at 15,000 miles.

My ford fiesta is a compact, easily maneuverable vehicle with good gas mileage.
It is easy to drive, comfortable, good mileage, easy to see out of, love the heated seats and mirrors, like that it is a hatchback. I do not like the cloth seats, the black interior, the fact that to lock my car the button is on the radio, lack of storage, and that is has a non touch screen radio.
accountCircle Natalie G
It has problems in the highway.
I do not like how it develops on the road, the performance could be better but the problem is that the tires can be a little slippery sometimes which is dangerous especially in an emergency situation when you have to change direction in a really fast way, but in a normal situation it runs just fine.
accountCircle Mckenzie M
Great car but a little lacking in space.
I have a 2019 ford fiesta. It gets great gas mileage, I have had no mechanical issues, and has a very spacious trunk. One of the drawbacks that I would list is that the interior is very small. This is not usually an issue except for when trying to fit a car seat in the middle rear seat. The car seat hits both of the two seats when rear facing and does not allow either of the front seats to be pushed back to allow for more leg room.
accountCircle Wendy C
There is a feature called “my key” that is beneficial for teenagers.
It is has issues with the latch and catch on the door. It is smaller than it looks. The “my key” feature cannot be turned off. It is good for the city and helps where parking spots are small. There is no GPS. I have had issues with the sync feature.

Fiesta for a work car is a good purchase.
I bought this car to travel around 20 miles to work each day. The car had a great low price for a new vehicle which was the most important thing for me the other statistic for the car I needed was great mpg and the fiesta provided that for me. I am sad the car will not be produced anymore because it is a nice little car with a larger trunk than expected.

Ford fiesta 2019 car review.
Good on gas mileage, not good in the snow but was expected, haven't had any mechanical issues with it so far. It has hand cranked windows but it was the cheapest newest car I could've bought. It will fight a hill if you are driving up a steep enough one.

Everything for the fiesta.
I love the excellent gas mileage I get. It's easy on the pockets at the gas pump. However, when the air is on the horsepower is not good. It takes it back. It is a little small so it's probably best for a teenager or older person. I like it though. The price I paid is expensive.

What Do Critics Say About the Ford Fiesta?

  • Consumer Reports says the 2019 Ford Fiesta is a rare example of a subcompact car that feels solid and substantial, with good owner satisfaction scores.
  • Edmunds rates the Fiesta at 4.2/5, enjoying the well-appointed interior, but doesn’t like the limited cargo room in the trunk.
  • Kelley Blue Book users give the Fiesta a 3.9/5, praising the sporty ride for a compact car, but owners don’t like that it doesn’t have the latest safety features.

What Common Problems Does the 2019 Ford Fiesta Have?

Common problems found on the 2019 Ford Fiesta include delayed gear changes, ticking noises from the A/C system, along with chipping paint. Overall, these problems are similar to some other small cars on the market, leading to average repair costs as the Fiesta ages.

Delayed gear changes are the most widespread complaint on the 2019 Ford Fiesta, showing up within the first 2,500 miles. Usually, the problem is caused by the transmission software which controls the gear changes. There are software updates available for the transmission control module which improve the speed of gear changes from the automatic transmission. Most dealerships will install this update for free as part of normal servicing, while others charge around $100 for the labor.

Ticking noises from the A/C system have also been reported by some 2019 Fiesta owners, showing up at around 5,000 miles. The noises are typically caused by the blend door actuator. Replacing the blend door actuator costs around $350, depending on local labor rates if the car is out of warranty.

Chipping paint is another issue mentioned on the 2019 Fiesta within the first 20,000 miles. Paint on the hood and front bumpers may chip when hit by stones and debris on the road. The only way to properly fix chipped paint is by repainting the entire panel, at a cost of around $1,000 per panel.

There’s only one recall on the 2019 Ford Fiesta, which is better than many other small cars. The recall covers the front brake seals which can make the brakes drag. Ford will flush the brake lines and replace the calipers and hoses on affected models for free.

How Long Will the 2019 Ford Fiesta Last?

A well-maintained 2019 Ford Fiesta can last around 200,000 miles, which is shorter than some other small cars, including the Toyota Corolla. Regular annual maintenance costs are similar to many competitors, according to data provided by Repair Pal, at $411 per year.

As a used 2019 Fiesta reaches 100,000 miles, and depending on the vehicle history, owners should be prepared to replace the drive belt tensioner for $150, stabilizer bushings costing $245, along with the suspension shocks which cost around $600.

How Is the Technology?

Standard entertainment technology is basic with a relatively small 4.2-inch center display. On the SE and higher models, there’s an available 6.5-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as the Sync 3 stereo system.

The standard safety technology is worse than some competitors, only offering a rearview camera. Optional advanced safety features include Ford’s MyKey system, which lets you set speed and volume limits for secondary drivers.

Is the 2019 Ford Fiesta a Good Value?

Yes, the 2019 Ford Fiesta is a good value if you’re in the market for a small car and also want decent passenger room. The blue book fair purchase price ranges from $10,250 to $18,950, making it less than a Honda Civic or Mazda3. When new, the price range was $14,260 to $21,340. Depreciation is similar to other small cars, losing about 10% of its current value per year.

What Colors Does the Ford Fiesta Come In?

How Comfortable Is the Ford Fiesta?

The 2019 Ford Fiesta is generally regarded as a practical subcompact car with certain elements that contribute to its overall comfort, but with some limitations typical for its class. Inside, the front seats offer decent support, making them suitable for shorter commutes and city drives. However, on long trips, some occupants might find them a bit firm. The rear seats, typical of many subcompacts, can be a bit cramped for taller passengers.

The car’s suspension is tuned more for agility than for cushioning, so while it handles bumps and potholes decently, it’s not the most plush ride in its segment. Additionally, the Fiesta’s cabin is relatively straightforward with user-friendly controls, but its use of some hard plastics and basic materials doesn’t exude luxury. On the plus side, the quietness of the cabin at highway speeds is a notable strength. In summary, while the 2019 Fiesta offers a certain level of comfort suitable for its class, those looking for a more cushioned and spacious interior might want to explore other options.

How Much Storage Space Does the Ford Fiesta Have?

The 2019 Ford Fiesta is a subcompact car that, despite its smaller size, offers a reasonable amount of storage space for everyday items. In its sedan form, the trunk offers around 12.8 cubic feet of space, which is suitable for daily errands like grocery shopping or stowing away a couple of suitcases for a weekend trip.

If you opt for the hatchback model, you’ll get slightly more versatility with a cargo space of 14.9 cubic feet behind the rear seat. This can accommodate bulkier items, such as a folded stroller or larger duffel bags. The rear seats fold down, expanding the car’s carrying capacity. Regardless of the model, the Fiesta provides practical storage solutions for those who prioritize efficiency and maneuverability.

VehicleHistory Image

What Are the Differences Between Years?

The first generation of the Ford Fiesta was launched for the 2011 model year.

2015: Small shuffling of packages, new Performance Blue color introduced.

2016: Updated SYNC 3 stereo system available, SE model features Black package, S model has remote keyless entry.

2017: Various options packages removed.

2018: Rearview camera is now standard on all models, larger stereo screen added, and the 1.0L engine was discontinued.

2019: Hatchback S and Titanium models removed from the lineup, new ST Line models introduced, and it was the final model year for the Fiesta before it was retired.

How Does the Ford Fiesta Compare to the Competition?

The 2019 Ford Fiesta is a very good small car, offering decent practicality ratings along with reasonable ownership costs as it ages, making it a good choice for shoppers on a budget.

The Kia Forte is another compact car which can be found for around $2,000 more. Standard safety technology is better in the Kia Forte, while the Ford Fiesta offers more cargo space in the hatchback model. We recommend the Kia Forte since it’s a more up-to-date car, but both are good choices worth test driving.

The Honda Fit is a popular small hatchback which is available for roughly $2,500 more. Long-term reliability ratings are better on the Honda Fit, while the Ford Fiesta offers a sportier driving experience. We recommend the Honda Fit for most buyers, although it’s worth test driving both to see which you prefer since they are very similar.

So far it seems to be a pretty good vehicle however it could use more leg room. The paint seems to be easily scratched and it should have a built in change holder like older cars did, as well as I don't like that you can't charge your phone while the car is off.

Reliable and comfortable, 2019 ford fiesta.

Reliable gas saving vehicle.
My ford fiesta is a stick shift, its eco friendly. It can hook up with your iPhone or android cell phone. I have manual windows and prefer it that way due to if there are electrical problems or if car stalls for some reason windows can always roll down till help arrives. It is great on gas! 33 gallons per mile! It is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned in my life and I wouldn't trade this car for the world. I was never a fan of fords but this is a really great and reliable car. I am able to even travel with my kayak on my roof no problem.

My car is a 2019 ford fiesta. I bought it new and really love it. It is black in color and drives beautifully. It is just right in size for me and my husband. I bought it for the gas mileage because I drove 100 miles a day to and from work. I get 42 miles to a gallon. I bought the car in Grayson Kentucky. It drives beautifully and sticks to the road really well. I am now retired and not driving so much. I do however drive to my dads and shopping. I like the car because it is small and easy to park. All my family has large cars so they do not think it is big enough. I really think it is not expensive enough for their test but that do not matter to me I drive it for me not them.

A small car with a big plus.
The first fiesta is a small but spacious car: it is comfortable on the front seats as well as in the back seats. I like the fact that you can lower the back seats and make the trunk more spacious to fit from a grocery shopping to big boxes. Another important fact is the gas tank performance, since it fuels with around $18 and it gives you 270 miles before the tank empties. It is a money saver.

Affordable, convenient, and surprisingly fun to drive.
Overall a very solid small car. It is perfect for getting around town and reliable for distance travel. Very easy on gas, super handling, and generally fun to drive. Sufficient space front and back for passengers and bags. Only downside is a fairly limited and kind of clunky av system.

A small, efficient ride great for a first car.
Me and my partner have really enjoyed our fiesta. It is small, but has plenty of room in the truck for groceries. My partner likes how zippy it is and its efficient. The major downside to it is that we are already starting to grow out of it and have only had it for a year. It is a little too small for more than three people even though it technically seats 5. We haven't needed any repairs on it and it stays moderately clean, plus ford has been amazing at helping out whenever we need it for oil changes and detailing.

Impressive compact, technologically advanced car at an affordable price.
My ford fiesta handles exceptionally well and has far more pickup than I thought such a small car would have. The gas pedal and brakes are very responsive. The seats are quite comfortable and the interior ambient lights are adjustable, which is a nice feature. There is a center display that shows video feed from behind the car when it is in reverse gear. The media center console also has Bluetooth, a CD player, am/FM, and Sirius XM radio.

Tail light went out twice. Check engine light came on. Sometimes radio has problems syncing to phone. Other than that great on miles and gas. 20$ to fill tank the tank up. Also has sport mode which is semi manual shift. It's a small car so tall people don't expect tall people to sit in the back.

I love the excellent gas mileage I get. It's easy on the pockets at the gas pump. However, when the air is on the horsepower is not good. It takes it back. It is a little small so it's probably best for a teenager or older person. I like it though. The price I paid is expensive.

Perfect car for cities and small families.
I love the size of this car the most! I can fit into any parking spot without worrying about hitting a neighbor. Because of this I am able to also get really good gas mileage. The trunk is large enough to hold everything I need. And the seats are comfortable in the front. The back seats are a little small for passengers though.

2019 ford fiesta St-line review. Reliable; fast; small.
I own a 2019 ford fiesta St line. I decided to buy it as my first car, and I can say it was a pretty good investment. The controls of this car are very easy, and it has great speed and acceleration. The only downside I can give it, is the overall space inside of the car, as it feels pretty cramped with more than two people. Not too much luggage space in the back, so I would not recommend dropping off aunt betty in this bad boy.

Great except for radio compatibility!
My vehicle is quite comfortable and the features all work quite well, there is plenty of space for people and luggage and the car runs smoothly. My only qualm is that this model cannot run Sirius XM radio and so I can no longer enjoy my favorite DJs and stations.

How my car makes me feel as my very first car ever.
I have no problems with my car.The performance is good and I feel it is very reliable. The ride and interior are comfortable.I enjoy the small car as I am a small person. The seat adjustment are a great feature.I also enjoy having a back windshield wiper.

Its a 2019 fiesta that's red. Its a good car.
Performance is good, it is good. I like the interior and the trim with wheels. Very good for traveling or what not. I like the color red so we got it in the color red. It has good control with brakes and the steering wheel is pretty good. Seats are comfy and cool.

I really like how easy it is to drive and maneuver.
I do not have any problems with the car. I feel like the blind spot is a little bit bigger in smaller cars, but that is for all small cars. This car has a decent sized blind spot for it is size. It is also easy to drive. The symbols for how to turn on the back windshield wiper on and off are confusing and hard to understand.

Convenient. Compact. Reliable.
Seats are comfortable but can stress my back after a long ride. Very convenient size for parking. Great on gas mileage. Easy to use radio and Bluetooth. Trunk is spacious for a small car. Back seats go down to fit bigger things through the trunk. Convenient for me and my outdoor hobbies.

Great little hatchback for commuting!
It has been a great little car so far. I love the hatchback style, I love the apple play and the backup camera. So far no mechanical issues have occurred. Sometimes when taking off from a dead standstill the car is a little jumpy when you press on the gas pedal.

A small, white car for easy driving.
The has cruise control which is very helpful when driving long distances on the freeway with wide open areas and not a lot of traffic. It is also a small enough car that it is easy to get in and out of spaces without being worried about hitting other cars. It is also big enough so that people in the front of back seat do not feel cramped. The backup camera also helps avoid hitting cars that are passing really quickly out of nowhere, for seeing people who are not very tall, or for people in really crowded areas or parking lots. It performs really well, and I have not had any kind of trouble with the car. I also enjoy the speed at which it breaks. Some cars, you need to press on the brake extremely hard to get them to stop, but this car is a happy medium between having to press really hard and not hard enough.

The hatchback is very nice, my favorite feature.
Nice roomy interior for a smaller model of car, very reliable. I am never afraid it will not start, ford offers good services on all their vehicles, the hatch spaces offers hide space so others cannot see what you have in your trunk space. A nice sporty looking little car.

The voice commands are more accurate than expected and easy to use.
This car is just the right size for me and my dog. The interior is nice and easy to clean, and it gets great gas mileage. The trunk is much larger than expected and it is surprisingly roomy for a small sedan. There are four cup holders in the front, two in front of the console and one on each door.

The car I drive is a ford fiesta 2019 s type it's got the sports package 4 cyl engine with auto/manual transmission 4 door I drive this car every day I love it. The handling is perfect especially in the rain I hit puddles of water like it's a dry road.Traction control is off the chain.

The ford fiesta is very reliable and comfortable while saving you tons on gas!
The vehicle gets 35.5 miles to the gallon, cheap on gas, tank lasts forever, no issues with the way it drives! Very nice reliable car for someone just starting out! Huge trunk too! The seats are comfortable, but sturdy and give great support. The Bluetooth and radio are my favorite features and they have a lot of options to play with.

Comfortable 2019 ford fiesta.
I haven't had any problems with my 2019 ford fiesta. It is very comfortable and the extra features like the back up camera and the heated seats make up for the lack of extra space. Despite the small size, it still feels roomy enough for at least 4 people.

Fiesta made me love ford again!
I have not had any issues with my vehicle, and it always provides a nice, comfortable drive. The seats are comfortable, it handles very well, and I have no problem making 8+ hour trips with my family! The trunk is spacious and provides plenty of space for luggage, groceries, etc.

Compact, smooth, and reliable.
I absolutely love the ford fiesta all around. You couldn't ask for a better all around model when it comes to super efficient gas mileage, exceptionally smooth handling, and loads of other perks that come with it. Personally I love turning up the music and cruising the town and enjoying a nice long evening drive. The stock sound system in the fiesta is second to none as I have experienced in all ford models as recent as these past few years. It is a nice little compact ride so turning sharp corners and roads is not a problem at all, as it handles better than any car I have ever drove. Lastly, if I absolutely had to have a complaint it would be the leg room up front for the taller than average person. I myself stand at 6’2 and it is not the most comfortable when it comes to leg space but the reliability and clean ride make up for any complaint I could ever throw at the car.

Spacious room. Compact. Nice speaker.
I love it because it is very compact with a great design. I also like how spacious it is. Even when you are seating at the back seat. Another reason I love about it is, they have a lot of compartment so it is easier to store things. Great design, spacious and big trunk.

My 2019 ford fiesta is great!
I really like it! It is small, great on gas & very economical. I do not like to spend a lot of money on vehicles & this one was definitely worth every penny! I would recommend it to anyone. It really does not have a lot of room but for what I paid, it works.
accountCircle Kevin A on October 21, 2020
I like the backup cam. I also like the MPG it gets.
I like interior and the rear backup cam. It rides very smooth and you don't feel too many bumps in the road. The motor is very quiet all you hear is the AC when it is on. It is very good on gas. It is very reliable. The issue I would say is it has slow acceleration.

Ford fiesta: the color of a witch!
It performs well. It is longer than my previous fiesta, with more room but a smaller trunk (I previously owned a fiesta hatchback). I do not have special features for this fiesta, and it is very reliable, at the moment. I am concerned that, like my previous fiesta, it’ll have significant mechanical problems at the same time after the five year mark. I worry that, like my previous car, I will not hit 100,000 miles before multiple issues come up at the same time. It was the only car I could afford at the time.

Simple, but ideal. Love the Bluetooth and backup camera.
The car drives smoothly, gets good gas mileage, was not too expensive, and has a nice sized trunk which were the biggest things for me. The windows are crank which are kind of funny, but I do not have to worry about a motor going out. I love the Bluetooth and backup camera too! The car is very simple, but has everything I need.

This vehicle gets amazing gas mileage.
The ford fiesta is a very good daily driver, coming from a gas guzzler this vehicle has great gas mileage and has been very reliable! I have gone on multiple road trips with this vehicle and had zero problems. I would highly recommend this vehicle for anyone looking for a reliable daily driver and any other commutes!

Ford fiesta 2019! Review.
Good gas mileage. Seats are comfortable maintenance has been minimal. Good pickup. Good storage room. Rear camera is great. Adequate cup holders. Radio and speakers are good. Highway travel is very comfortable. City travel is good too. Great!
