It's been very low maintenance! I have only ever had to take it to the shop for problems maybe once or twice in the almost 10 years I've owned it.

It's been a great car and it has comfortably driven me and my family through life for the last several years. The moonroof is fun and stylish while the creature comforts are lovely such as the heated seats and customizable footwell lighting. The audiophile speaker and 6-disk CD changer are amazing. The faults I find it however are that it's pretty cramped, without a lot of legroom for backseat passengers and a short bench so most people have to squeeze. One other hugely annoying thing is there are no lights in the backseat. If it's dark and you need to find something, you need a flashlight or you're out of luck. That certainly makes it difficult getting an infant or toddler fastened in or taken out of the vehicle. The backseat also dips back instead of laying flat, which also makes installing a child's car seat very challenging. Overall I'd say it's a good car for people without young children but it's not a family friendly vehicle.

2008 Ford Focus - great mileage but poor shock system.

While I love the gas mileage for this Ford Focus sedan (averages about 33 mpg, which is pretty darn good) the one thing I detest is that the shocks are pathetic. We have gone through SO many tires, it's not even funny. Granted, we have put a TON of miles on the vehicle, and the roads in our area are full of potholes, but after purchasing the car (it was an emergency purchase, no time to research, which is entirely our fault) we realized that this model was notorious for this issue. Would I buy another Ford Focus? Yes, PROVIDED that it was a more recent model and one that this issue had been resolved!

It's good value for the price and can really rack up the miles.

The main reason I picked a Ford Focus is because I'm familiar with Ford vehicles and I wanted fuel efficiency. I like that I can get to and from work for an entire week before having to refuel. I also like that it has a good amount of head room for someone of my height (6'+). The main thing I dislike is that it seems like some of the engine parts are cheap plastic and tend to fail over the life of the car. A plastic coolant line failed, and the replacement part was made of metal. I wish they had just started out with a metal part so I would have had to replace it. Otherwise I'm pretty happy with it.
