The base engine is weak, the fuel economy may not meet the estimates in real-world driving and the dash has a lot of plastic buttons.

The room in the fusion is so awesome.
The ride is amazing it is very nice and quiet. Beautiful features and very spacious! Ford has really outdone themselves with this car and art an adorable rate. Options are available for. You too choose many different things. Audio system and ford app names it really way with the remote start.

All-around solid choice for young professionals.
I feel like this vehicle was a great value for the money spent. It is affordable, yet stylish and reliable. It is large enough for a tall person like myself, but not too big that it's inconvenient in an urban setting like Chicago. Gas mileage is pretty good too.

The ford fusion is definitely a good car choice!
The 2019 ford fusion is an incredible car. It drives so smooth, has great gas mileage, and is comfortable on long drives. The apple CarPlay and Bluetooth system are also very helpful. The car feels extremely safe and is a larger car considering it is 'small.' The seat warmers are also a plus side in the colder seasons.
accountCircle Nicole B
A car worth every penny spent on it.
A nice sized vehicle. The trunk is a nice size, great for grocery shopping. I love how the bright lights go off and on while driving at night. I love gas mileage and how smooth the care rides, especially on the freeways. This car is truly worth the price.

The 2019 fusion is a great midsize car.
My car, 2019 ford fusion, is my first car to ever buy on my own and it was a great first choice. It is very reliable and the interior and exterior are very detailed. The interior features of the vehicle are more modern and up to date with touch screen radio, cruise control, gear shift is not a handle, it is a knob that you turn. Something you wouldn't see on older vehicles. Great gas mileage. Great speed if you are needing to get somewhere in a hurry!

Ford fusion luxury car, buy it now!
This car rides so smooth. It also looks luxury in the inside and out. Spacious trunk too. The leather seats are very comfortable, and it comes with heated seats for the winter time!! Such a great car and great on gas! Drives good in nice weather, rainy weather, snowy weather and even on rocky roads. I would recommend you to buy this car! Overall great nice car.

2019 ford fusion solid choice.
Reliability is great, performance is solid, very comfortable seats, love the satellite radio, pairing my smartphone, receiving calls and text messages, love the dual climate control for when your passenger desires a different temperature, USB charging ports come in handy as well.

Great car for the price. Luxury look without the price tag.
It is a lightweight vehicle. Not great for extreme weather. Great fuel efficiency, getting almost 25 miles to the gallon. The technology is pretty advanced and has navigation system and internal control temp changes. The sleek design keeps up with most of the luxury cars.

It is the worst car ever!
It is not reliable. It does not meet the expectations of a normal car. It had a lot of technical issues over and over again. I have gotten the same response from the dealer. They even said the car is not a good car at all. However it is a company car.

Hybrid Driving Issues
First, there was nothing more exciting than leasing a brand-new Ford Fusion 2019 Energi March 2019! It was a Titanium Energi Plug-In and I waited a full year to get my very own, what an experience, quite exciting! Second, there was nothing more disappointing than owning a brand-new Ford Fusion 2019 Energi in March 2020! Only wish I had 2020 insight of the future; what was I thinking; Tesla, Toyota, I will see one of you in 22 months! After spending more than $400 dollars on a rental car (6 Days) for Auto Nation to determine why my 13-month-old brand new Ford Fusion 2019 Energi had suffered the Mileage By Death Syndrome (Horrible Gas Mileage); it actually drives like a regular Ford Fusion SE gasoline only car. In actuality, the brand-new Ford Fusion 2019 Energi mileage (Whooping 36 MPGE) and driving experience does not compete with a regular Ford Fusion Hybrid. I rented several Ford Fusion Hybrids and was quite satisfied prior to leasing my brand-new Ford Fusion 2019 Energi March 2019. In Auto Nation’s haste this past month, they were too quick to blame my driving habits as being part of the problem. I am quite sure my driving habits have nothing to do with insufficient MPGE mileage or standard Hybrid Mileage. I have owned and driven Hybrids for the past 13 years; I think I know how to drive a Hybrid or Plug-In Shame on you Auto Nation and Ford!!!

No remote control. No back window windshield/wiper. No seat heat.
No seat heater and the remote start requires at&t network and a smartphone. It takes too long to open the app and turn on the card so you would rather to walk in and turn it on manually. Also, it does not have windows wiper for back windows which makes it hard to see your back in rain and snow.

Sleek and savvy. High fashion for an economical price.
Stereo system to radio is terrible. Does not have the torque that my Honda had. Other than that the quality is great. The body structure is very sleek in design. It has all the updated technology with extra bells and whistles such as alerts, side view mirror blind spot blinkers, braking assistance, lane assist, chimes and alerts to take a break, rotary shift,

Great commuter car 4 highway and clean city living.
Overall the car is a solid commuter car. It gets decent gas mileage and rides fairly quietly and smooth. However I do not find it very stable on the snow and ice. I also find it to be quite underpowered when I need more acceleration. The features in the car are very intuitive and easy-to-use. From a maintenance standpoint there have been absolutely no problems with this vehicle. So the quality of the vehicle is strong. If I didn't live in a snow zone I would be much more satisfied with this vehicle.

Very cool and reliable vehicle.
I really do like my car. It is safe and reliable. The only complaint I have is the blind spot on the left and right side where the windshield ends. The area here is thick and sometimes makes oncoming traffic difficult to see. It would be better if the windshield was longer.

What Do Critics Say About the Ford Fusion?

  • Consumer Reports says the 2019 Ford Fusion offers fun styling and a nice driving experience with high owner satisfaction scores.
  • Edmunds rates the Fusion at 4.7/5, praising the responsive handling for a midsize sedan, but doesn’t like the weak base engine.
  • Kelley Blue Book users give the Fusion a 4.4/5, enjoying the advanced safety tech, but owners don’t like the relatively basic interior.

What Common Problems Does the 2019 Ford Fusion Have?

Common problems found on the 2019 Ford Fusion include chrome trim bubbling up, the backup camera freezing, along with some premature brake wear reported. Overall, these problems are relatively minor for a midsize sedan, leading to more affordable repair costs as they ages.

Chrome trim bubbling up is the most widespread complaint on the 2019 Ford Fusion. If the chrome finish gets a tear in it then water gets into the base metal, causing rust which will bubble. The only way to fix the problem is to replace the trim, which costs around $550.

The backup camera freezing is another issue mentioned by 2019 Fusion owners in the first 10,000 miles. There are software updates for the infotainment system which improve the reliability of the backup camera. Most dealerships will install software updates for free, while some charge around $50.

Premature brake wear has also been reported on some Fusion models from 2019. If you’re heavy on your brake then the pads and rotors will wear out quickly. Replacing the brake pads costs around $250, while a new set of rotors is an additional $400, depending on local labor rates.

There are no recalls on the 2019 Ford Fusion, which is better than many other midsize sedans. Having no recalls means that there are no issues which Ford and the US Government have determined to be serious enough to file for a recall.

How Long Will the 2019 Ford Fusion Last?

A well-maintained 2019 Ford Fusion can last around 250,000 miles, which is only slightly shorter than the long-lasting Toyota Camry. Regular annual maintenance costs are similar to other midsize sedans, according to data provided by Repair Pal, at $480 per year.

As a used 2019 Ford Fusion reaches 100,000 miles, and depending on the vehicle history owners should be prepared to replace the vehicle speed sensor for $400, a sunroof motor costing $455, along with the headlamp switch which costs around $185

What Are the Differences Between Years?

The second generation of the Ford Fusion was launched for the 2013 model year, and was discontinued after 2020 when Ford decided to reduce the number of sedans they made.

2014: New 1.5L 4-cylinder engine available, heated steering wheel & ventilated front seats.

2015: Rearview camera standard on all models, manual transmission discontinued.

2016: No major changes.

2017: New Sync 3 stereo system offered, Platinum and Sport models added, minor exterior styling changes.

2018: No major changes.

2019: New front & rear bumper designs, Co-Pilot 360 safety package offered.

2020: Final model year of the Ford Fusion before it was discontinued, Sport model not available.

How Does the Ford Fusion Compare to the Competition?

The 2019 Ford Fusion is a very nice midsize sedan compared to a lot of the other choices on the market. It may not be the most affordable to own long-term, although it’s a good choice for shoppers looking for a more responsive driving experience.

The Chevy Malibu is another midsize sedan available which costs around $2,000 less. Passenger room is a bit better in the Chevy Malibu, while the Ford Fusion offers a more engaging driving experience. We recommend the Ford Fusion since it will last longer while also having more safety features.

The Toyota Camry is a popular competitor, which is around $3,500 more. Reliability ratings and ownership costs are both better in the Toyota Camry, while the Ford Fusion is sportier and more fun to drive. We recommend the Toyota Camry since they last longer, making them one of the best midsize sedans on the market.

Love this Fusion!
Traded in a 2016 Fusion for the 2019 Ford Fusion Hybrid. Love it. It rides great, handles great, and gets incredible gas mileage. I take a lot of long trips, on the interstate driving the posted limits which are between 70 MPH and 80 MPH I always get at least 44 MPG! My old fusion did well, around 26/27 but nothing like this hybrid. I have put 116000 miles on it with no issues just regular services and a couple of sets of tires. Great car.

Overall very nice car. The tadpole have a glitch sometimes when hooking up to apple play. It will lock up and freeze and you have to reset it. The adaptive cruise is great. I can choose between 1-3 car length distance and my car will automatically slow down if too close to another vehicle. My car sometimes does not open using the automatic opener on the keychain and when I connect my phone to the Bluetooth the sound sometimes cuts in and out. Best affordable car I have ever driven.
No problems to speak of. The car performs extremely well, especially when you turn on sport mode. I had a 2017 for a few years and it was always very reliable, so I can assume the 2019 will be as well when the time comes. It is extremely comfortable with leather seats (heated of course), is extremely roomy, while it still does not feel like driving a tank. The blind spot detection is very helpful especially when the sun is shining in your eyes, the backup cam is a must, and I like the red lights in the front of the car that blinks when there is a danger ahead.

I settled. No “wow” factor.
We like the gas mileage and the car alert system but my biggest complaint about ford is that they tend to take features away from a mid-level vehicle when they add others. The car simply does not “wow” me like my flex did. I feel like I settled on this car.

Environmentally friendly without compromising style.
The ford fusion is a very smooth and comfortable drive. It also has apple CarPlay and android auto connectivity and cameras assisted parking. I love that it is a hybrid. I drive a lot especially to clear my head and I do not feel as guilty driving so much. It also saves a lot of money down the road. What I would spend on gas, especially the amount I drive, I am able to save instead. It is also a surprisingly spacious vehicle.

Ford fusion 2019 is the perfect sedan for long distance travel.
Personally, I love my car. I do not have any problems with it maybe because I bought it barely used. It is great on gas, I can drive a hour away and drive back and it is only on the 2nd highest line from full. It is very spacious, perfect if you love going on road trips as much as I do. The car last about 4,000 miles until it is next oil change which is perfect for a traveler. The car has an amazing air cooling system and the sound quality is probably my favorite part. The volume goes up to “30” but it is very loud and I love the apple car play. The radio has two USBs for easy charging for the passenger and driver. The seats are cloth which is how I prefer my vehicle seats to be. The seats are very comfortable, they lean all the way back, perfect for sleeping comfortably. The windshield is incredibly big and I can see everything. Cruise control is perfect and safe. The side view mirrors glow orange if there’s a car close to you in either lane which is very safe and also the car offers lane control which you can turn on and off at your will.

I have children and there is enough room for them in the back seat. Enough room in the trunk. I love my new car! My family enjoys it as well. The color from inside out.

It's got a large cab up to date technology, great feature for a base model car
The Fusion is very comfortable, it makes driving much easier and the cabin and trunk are huge!! I feel very safe and relaxed in this car. I feel good about my baby riding in this car, the technology in it is amazing! The SYNC program helps with navigation and media

Pros & cons of ford fusion.
The ford fusion is a decent car. It delivers a smooth ride and has poised handling. Its base engine feels a little underpowered, but there are three stronger options available. Inside, the cabin is generally upscale, the seats are roomy and comfortable, and there's ample trunk space. The ford fusion can have transmission shifting problems. You'll start to hear squeaks, creaks, and leaks. Issues with the ford fusion steering. The 2019 ford fusion a good predicted reliability rating of four out of five.

A car worth every penny spent on it.
A nice sized vehicle. The trunk is a nice size, great for grocery shopping. I love how the bright lights go off and on while driving at night. I love gas mileage and how smooth the care rides, especially on the freeways. This car is truly worth the price.

Spacious, safe, great gas mileage.
I love how spacious the car is. Great leg space, as well as trunk space. Also great on gas mileage and a very smooth ride. I have owned ford fusions for the last four years and have never had any major issues with the car. Very reliable and I feel very safe driving it.

Loving the safety features of your car.
Car rides smooth backup camera is awesome bluetooth features are awesome. But the only thing that is wrong is the gas saver when you come to a stop the car do not shut down anymore and the low tire indicator sometimes works. The dashboard light warning alarm is awesome that works you when getting closer to a car in front of you the switch lane light indicator warns you when a car is present next to you.

I have black rims on a grey body, which is a sharp look.
I really enjoy this vehicle. I have had it for 2 weeks. It has blind spot monitoring and a host of other valuable features. I drove a 2016 Titanium version of the Fusion, and this 2019 SE version has more bells and whistles than the 2016 Titanium. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone who wants a reliable, sporty looking sedan. There is plenty of room for a child seat. The display/electronics are very clean, and allow for ease of use.

Nice looking car, great mpg, great ride quality, and nicely equipped base model.
The 2019 ford fusion s is a great car. It is easy on the eyes, really good on gas, has comfortable seating, and great ride quality. It is the base model but this one is equipped with the sport package, which comes with premium black rims, spoiler, 2 tone interior touch screen, a pretty good radio and a host of other tasteful goodies. The only thing I am not so happy about is the power output. It's not fast at all, and is a slug getting going but great for commuting.

Gold ford fusion, bought used with low mileage.
I love that it is environmentally friendly! It saves me gas money and it saves the planet. The first thing I notice when I drive it is how smoothly it drives. I have no trouble making sharp turns or braking quickly when necessary. It feels spacious although I like that it is a sedan, it still feels luxurious. It also has helpful features like a back up camera and voice navigation.

Another satisfied customer.
Simple but reliable and fun to drive. Has some easy features to use, touchscreen and steering column. Has a sizable trunk and good legroom throughout cabin. Seats are comfortable and easy to operate and change. Good gas mileage and relative good power on inclines.

A great family car with lots of room.
This is a very quiet and comfortable car. The passenger and driver seat both are adjustable. They go forward/back, up/down and the seat back reclines. This is important because I am 5'2' and my husband is 6'2'. The trunk is huge. The back seat fold down with a 40/60 split, which is handy if you have to carry something that is long. The back seat has a lot of room and there is good visibility back there so you are less likely to feel car sick. It is sporty looking too. It gets great gas mileage.

We've loved this car. In Massachusetts and now in Florida!
Great driving vehicle, no maintenance problems, features all work, great mileage, high performance on the highway and good looking! This is our third ford vehicle in five years and we'll continue to buy ford products! Seriously? Well the seats are great, the radio and Sirius features create a great ride experience.. Dual climate controls for front seats really help!

Best value I have ever gotten from a new vehicle.
I really love this car. I opted not to get a lot of extra features, but this car is still really loaded. Tons of safety features, all the little extras I need. The only little quirk/oddity I have found in the last 2500 miles is the speech recognition gets a little challenging if you have the air vents pointed at the ceiling.

Sporty, classy, bad-assy, not your normal ‘’mom’ car.
Amazing car. Drives and rides great. Love the driver assist package. Only complaint is that the material used on the interior dash chips and cracks in spots. That same problem is also where the gear shift is placed. I am also not a fan of how there windshield wipers open.

The alarm that sound off when you get too close to a vehicle in front of you.
The car handles nice, it has a good sound system and it is comfortable for long rides. I do not like the blind spot in the front window on the sides or the heater system it takes long to heat up. The trunk space is spacious and it is nice that the back seat has a compartment that folds out for passengers to put their beverages.

Ford fusion: worth it or no? Worth it!
This is a great car. It is heavy on the road so it makes me feel extremely safe traveling the Atlanta highways and inner cities. The seats are extremely comfortable and mold to my body. The only thing I would say is “bad” about this vehicle is that it does not get amazing gas mileage. You average about 22 on the highway but that is because it is such a heavy vehicle. Other than that it is great. Sound system is clear and loud which is a must.

Great vehicle for the money.
I have had no problems with my vehicle since I purchased it (18 months. Performance is as expected. Reliability is great, never let me down or stranded. Medium comfort level, standard features (XM/Sirius, fabric seats, AWD). I have researched recently the trade in value and it is $10k, less than original purchase price in 18 months.

Great for teens safety is number 1.
I love my fusion. It gets great gas mileage it looks great. My kids love it they are comfortable riding in back seat. I have two teenagers both about to get their driver's licenses and the fusion is going to be theirs because its a safe reliable vehicle. Safety is most important when looking for a car for teens and they love it. I have no worries when they are in it. I will not buy anything but fords after having the fusion. No problems at all with anything on it. My husband loves it too and he used to only by gm cars and he also said nothing but ford vehicle in our driveway from this day forward.

Car features that I personally enjoy.
It is a very new car to say the least. You can connect your smartphone and talk to your friends through your car without having to tap on the phone screen. You can also Bluetooth play music through your smartphone to the car. The car also plays sirius XM radio which is very neat.

It is overall a very good and reliable car.
Android auto does not stay connected. Sometimes it disconnects without even moving the phone. After the software update, the climate button on the dash does not work. It should bring up the climate options on the screen, but it only brings up a blank screen.

Perfectly reliable vehicle. Perfect purchase!
I have had no issues with my vehicle mechanically. There is a slight issue in the carpeting inside the vehicle, however. Within a couple weeks of owning the car the passenger side carpeting was pulling from the floor. It has great gas mileage and has a lot of get up and go.

Amazing driving features, amazing car.
The only problems I faced with my vehicle was with the screen in the front. When it is the winter and extremely cold, there were a few times were the screen would stop working. Nonetheless, this has only happened three times. Other than that, I love it. The exterior and interior of the car are beautiful. The seats are extremely comfortable, the ride is very smooth, and the driving features are exquisite. For instance, if I am driving over a line, the steering wheel will actually vibrate, alerting me that I am not within the lane.
