The 2015 Ford Mustang lasts around 250,000 miles with only some minor paint and stalling issues reported. At $14,975 to $27,375, it’s a great value for a fun coupe which holds up well over time.

likeFilled The Good
Steering is more responsive than other muscle cars, the V8 engine offers excellent power and interior materials are nice for the price.
dislikeFilled The Bad
Rear seat legroom is worse than other coupes, the MyFord Touch stereo system is outdated and the 4-cylinder engine is too quiet for a Mustang.

Very fun convertible and quite reliable.
The ac is not very cold and I had to replace the ac condenser to the tune of seven hundred fifty dollars. The car is black on black on black so it is very hot. The performance is awesome and it get ups and goes. My car is very reliable and always starts right up. The car sits very low and is very comfortable, easy to drive, and gives me the confidence I need in traffic. My car is very fun to drive. My car has many features such as Bluetooth and Sirius radio.

Ford's greatest ride - the 2015 is the anniversary car and it truly shows.
Only problem is a shortage that happens with the computer system every few months; the computer system will short out and the only way to repair it is to totally unhook the battery from the car for ten minutes. Way to permanently correct this.

2015 50th anniversary mustang gt 5.0.
It is a beast. I love the power. It rides smooth and has a lot of features for customization on steering & on braking. Awesome customization on interior lighting. It looks sleek slashing through the lanes. It has Bluetooth and GPS which are definitely a must in today's world. Been super happy with my car. The only negative is the audio system! It definitely could be better for a car of this price value.

Loving my Ford mustang convertible!
Have no problems with vehicle. Convertible with leather heated and cooled seating, Bluetooth, auto night view, drive settings, fully equipped vehicle. Love the power of fuel injection. Smooth driving vehicle that does well on gas. Get 36 mph on highway. Pick up is remarkable. I would buy another mustang in a heartbeat.

I love how smooth it drives compared to previous models. The interior leather seats are my favorite. I wish it came with a glass roof option.

Solid and reliable performer.
A fun to drive and reliable vehicle. It is beautiful and solid. This model is a huge improvement on the flimsier previous Mustangs. I bought it used and have had it 2 full years with no problems. Gas mileage is not the best, but again a huge improvement over the previous generations.

Don't Buy!!!!!
DO NOT BUY!!!!! A/C went out very early covered by warranty. 2 left front windows went bad. Paint bubbling on hood. Little plastic button on brake pedal lever breaks, had to purchase little button from Toyota to fix. Ford doesn't service separately. When it breaks car will not run properly, safety issue! Now getting "hill assist no available" told maybe a ABS sensor needs replaced. Nothing covered under warranty!!!!! 36000 miles

Corroding ford aluminum hoods
My 2015 mustang GT ALUMINUM HOOD IS CORRODING AND BLISTERING PAINT. There are multiple reports of this problem due to contamination of the aluminum prior to painting . Also occurring in F 150 Trucks Ford refusing to replace hood if car is out of warranty even though they know the hoods were contaminated at the assembly plant.

Ford mustangs are not reliable cars. They are an expensive headache.
Multiple recalls, a lot of maintenance, lots of defects. This vehicle has not been reliable compare to what I previously owned, dodge challenger. This vehicle was cheaply made. Water pump broke within months of driving it off the lot. It was a factory problem and resolved but I was left without a vehicle for a month. Center console has had significant wear and tear for 5 years with 1 owner. Very cheap material.

Mustang owners time to review your pride.
Does well on gas for a mustang but smallest inside of all mustangs. Has a real get up and go for a v4 turbo and does well on long road trips. My ford sync available and push to start make life way easier on cold mornings. Lot of hidden features on vehicle like being able to roll down windows with remote key.

The car itself, interior and exterior, is very nice.
I love my car for the most part. I have issues where the car does not detect my key fob, thus I cannot start or lock / unlock my car.

It is not comfortable to ride in especially for long distance.
My car performs great. It is good on gas and has a lot of features. It is not comfortable to ride in for long distance and is horrible in snow. I do not like that it is low to the ground. It has a very small backseat and there is no headroom in the back. It does have a very roomy trunk.

My 2015 Ford Mustang experience
The car has held up well over the past four years. Keeping up with regular maintenance, fluid changes and new tires. Problems I have had are bushings going out. Starter failure, and battery replacement. The terminals were getting buildup and it was time for a new battery. The spark thing has been replaced but kind of expensive for this type of car. Despite these things, it has been reliable. I believe some part may have been recalled but it was a minor issue. These are just the things that go along with a car. As for comfort its great, but the A/C has diminished so maybe it's time to check for leaks or replace the gas in the system. The passenger seat has held up well, but the drivers seat has sagged a bit in some areas. The seat belt gets stuck unless pull high and over so the lock mechanism doesn't engage. The sound system still rocks hard as when I took it off the lot. The paint has held up well here in Sunny California. Overall this car has kept me happy, I just wish some of the failures happened during the warranty period. Just outside of it so it was out of pocket. Overall I give this car a solid 3. I can't remember when the generation change was but new ones tend to have quarks so that's what I get. So to conclude Problems, just a few. Performance is really good, but can easily be really great with a few upgrades. Reliability is where it should be given the mileage and years of use. Comfortable enough for a sports car. As for the features they have held up well, but the infotainment system kind of sucks and was dated within the first 6 months. This should have been future proofed. All in all again a solid 3 as of date of writing this review.

What Do Critics Say About the Ford Mustang?

  • Consumer Reports says the Mustang drives much better and is more planted with high owner satisfaction scores.
  • Edmunds rates the Mustang 4.4/5, praising the improved suspension over older years, although they don’t like the very cramped rear seats.
  • Kelley Blue Book users give the Mustang a 4.7/5 enjoying the new refined interior, but owners don’t like that it offers less power than other muscle cars.

What Common Problems Does the 2015 Ford Mustang Have?

Common problems found on the 2015 Ford Mustang include paint peeling off, the engine shaking and stalling, as well as excessive brake noise. Overall, these problems are less severe than in other sports cars. Repair costs are average as well.

Paint peeling off is a frequent problem reported by owners in the first 30,000 miles. Paint on flat surfaces including the hood and roof peels easily when it’s exposed to direct sunlight for a long time. Repainting the affected areas is the only way to fix the problem, costing about $1,000 per panel.

The engine shaking and stalling is mentioned by some owners with the EcoBoost motor. Usually the engine stalling is caused by a problem with the crankcase ventilation valve, or PCV. Changing out the PCV fixes the problem, usually, costing around $400 depending on local labor rates.

Squealing brakes also show up on some Mustang models at around 10,000 miles. If you brake hard, the brakes will wear out faster. Replacing the brake pads costs about $250, while a set of new rotors is around $600. Some aftermarket pads, which are about $100 more, last longer while also providing better braking performance.

There are 9 recalls on the 2015 Mustang, which is more than many other sports cars. The most serious recall is for fuel vapor lines, which may break down from heat. Ford will replace the lines to prevent fuel vapors from leaking. Many other recalls cover seat belts as well as airbags, which are common on a lot of cars.

How Long Will the 2015 Ford Mustang Last?

A well-maintained 2015 Ford Mustang should last around 250,000 miles, which is longer than the highly-rated Dodge Challenger. Regular annual maintenance costs are similar to other sports cars based on information provided by Repair Pal, at $766 per year.

Since nearly all 2015 Mustang models will have over 100,000 miles buyers should be prepared to replace the intake manifold gasket for $500, evaporative canister costing $450, as well as the crankshaft position sensor, which costs $175.

Haven't had any problems so I highly recommend this car if your into sports cars. I plan on keeping it until the car dies on me literally.

accountCircle John G

Yes it is reliable, the only issue I have had with mine is the backup camera, if you slam the trunk hard all the time it will damage the wire going to it.

accountCircle Gardy N

Yes the ford 2015 ford mustang ecoboost is very reliable. It requires a little less amount of service you would need on other vehicles and receives great mileage by the gallon.

accountCircle Stacy F

Yes, this is a very reliable car. I have yet to have any issues since I have owned this car. However, with my year there was a known issue but it wasn't serious

accountCircle Nicolas B

The 2015 Ford Mustang is very reliable. I have not had any problems with this vehicle. Excellent investment. I would buy this car again.

accountCircle Jane S

It is very reliable. In the winter it is great in the snow it has traction control and I had no issues. It did not slide around on the ice at all and always started even when it was below zero outside.

accountCircle Nathan G

No problems it drives beautifully and is well maintained and drives excellently and also has low mileage

accountCircle Flor S

I would say it is reliable. So far, I have not had any problems. The only thing I can think of was a recall that it had on one of the latches, but I took it to the dealer and it go fixed. I've had my car for almost 5 years (purchased in 2014) and it hasn't given me any problems.

How Is the Technology?

Entertainment technology is good in the 2015 Ford Mustang compared to other sports cars with a standard 4.2-inch screen in the dash. Optional upgrades include a larger 8-inch screen along with upgraded speakers. Safety technology is better than average with a standard rearview camera along with an optional blind spot monitoring system.

Is the 2015 Ford Mustang a Good Value?

Yes, the 2015 Ford Mustang is a great value for a dependable sports car. Blue book prices range from $14,975 to $27,375, making it similar in price to the Dodge Charger and Chevrolet Camaro. When new, the price range was $23,800 to $46,170. Depreciation is similar to average, losing about 10% of its current value per year.

Passenger space is good in the front seats while legroom is limited in the back seats, making them best suited to small children.

How Much Storage Space Does the Ford Mustang Have?

What Are the Differences Between Years?

The sixth generation of the Ford Mustang was introduced in 2015, and will be replaced by the seventh generation in 2024.

2013: Minor exterior styling changes, optional Recaro seats, more powerful V8 engine.

2014: No major changes, Boss 302 model discontinued.

2015: Fully redesigned for the sixth generation with all-new interior, exterior, and engines.

2016: SYNC 3 stereo system added, black painted roof on GT Coupe.

2017: No major changes.

2018: Minor exterior styling changes, V6 engine discontinued, new suspension dampeners.

2019: Bullet model added back, California Special package available on the GT Premium model.

How Does the Ford Mustang Compare to the Competition?

The Ford Mustang is one of the best affordable sports coupes available from 2015 since it’s more reliable than the competition, even if it doesn’t have the same amount of power.

The Chevy Camaro is another sports coupe which costs about $350 more. Performance is better in the Chevy Camaro since it has stronger engines, while the Ford Mustang offers more responsive handling. We recommend the Ford Mustang for most buyers, although both are reliable sports cars.

The Dodge Challenger is a competitor which is available for around $1,500 more. Straight line performance is better in the Dodge Challenger, especially the Hellcat model, while technology is more up-to-date in the Ford Mustang. We recommend the Ford Mustang since they last longer with fewer mechanical complaints from owners.

Advantage of smoothness and control.
Always loved the design of the mustang. The colors are always nice and deep. The handling and smoothness around corners is tight and controlled. Never short any power to pass another car when needed. I am sort of a taller guy and there is plenty of comfortable room for me to move in and there is good enough headroom for myself and all the people who ride with me.

This is a very reliable car. The only issues I have had are technological. I have had a problem with the Bluetooth, it basically stopped working but with my warranty it was covered and I got it fixed easily. Another issue I had was with the key fob. Pros of the mustang gt s550.
The 2015+ mustang is one of the best bang for your buck performance cars. The gt package makes 430+ hp from factory, and capable of way more! The mustang handles like a dream all thanks to the independent suspension in front and rear! That is something you would see on a higher model sports car. You can pick up a brand new mustang for just under 40k (depending on the package). That makes the mustang one of the cheapest muscle/sports car on the market.

2015 mustang: it was great until it wasn't.
My mustang has been such a great car up until this year (2020). The ac stopped becoming cold on it is own and needs coolant but in it every two months. Both my boyfriend and cousin also have 2015 mustangs whose ac started doing the same thing. Also, my 'stang recently died on me and locked me out as a result. The emergency key hidden inside the electronic key is missing so I am going to have to call a locksmith. I guess that is something to deal with in this new age of no physical keys, everything is electronic nowadays.

Cars great even for its age so it feels built to last. Almost have 100,000 miles and there is still no issues with it. A lot of standard features but not hard to add more overall great car. Miles per gallon are something to be wanted but it is a sports car and it drives like one so it is okay.

The body style is great & still very stylish.
Problems with the transmission in year 2 or 3 & had to have it replaced. Other than that, the performance is great - it is fast & yet b/c of the ecoboost, it gets really good mileage. The reliability is fine, the comfort for me is great (but not for my husband b/c he's tall). The model I bought is still stylish & classy.

Handles great and the engine has never given me a problem.
The only complaint I have is with the tires. I have had many flats air loss. The dealer recommended I change them after only 8,000 miles.

When stressed, this car will bring you relaxation by simple driving a few miles.
My mustang has turbo boost. This gives me great gas mileage plus I have all the power need when I need to move quickly. It is a convertible and is extremely easy to move the roof up and down. Sometimes I put it down while waiting at a traffic light. It stays warm in the winter and the top down in the spring, summer, and fall is wonderful.

My car has a 420 horsepower engine, and sounds beautifully throaty.
I have a 2015 competition orange Mustang GT. It's interior is a cream-colored leather. I love everything about my car, except that right now it is making a whistling noise when I accelerate in lower gears with the air conditioning turned on. I've ordered new belts in the hope of resolving the issue.

Great car - for teens & young adults.
My car is great, but I do not use the convertible that much. Also, I have had quite a few issues with the ac but it was under warranty. The sync system will sometimes not work and make me reset it. It is a very reliable vehicle, but for older people it is not going to be very easy to get in and out of.

The best I can say is that it looks great, runs perfectly, best car ever.
It is a 2015 mustang gt, black and shiny. It has leather seats, manual transmission, crazy fun to drive. It is sporty, reliable, extremely comfortable. It has great ac, which has helped a lot on these hot summer days. I have had no problems with it, accelerates quickly, very dependable.

Amazing sound system, fun to ride, small cargo space.
It is a really good car that has lasted me a long time without very many problems. The cargo space and passenger room are rather small but it's a great car for a single person or a couple. Its decent on gas and the sound system is premium. The only problems I've had so far was a burnt out fuse in the car charger and that was both an easy and cheap fix. Not many complaints.

Super fun. Super fast, super reliable. And easy fix problems.
The 2015 mustang is a super reliable car. The car is really fun and pretty fast if you are into that car type stuff, other than if having minor problems the car is super good on gas and if there is ever problems then they will be easy fixes and it works just super amazing.

It feels a lot more luxurious than you would expect
I wish I could have leather seats but overall I love my car! Nicest Mustang I've ever owned

Luxury car but wastes so much gas.
Luxury vehicle with great comfort. Limited edition, always turning heads when I drive anywhere. Great performance and super reliable. Downside is the amount of gas it spends weekly. Be prepared to put gas every 2-3 days. Takes about $40 to fill up tank and uses it up quickly. Not for frequent long drives.

Ecoboost Turbocharged specs
The Ford EcoBoost has an engine that is turbocharged. Turbocharged engines forces in more air than a normal engine. More air and more fuel makes an engine more powerful.

My experience with the 2015 ford mustang (ecoboost premium).
Overall my vehicle has been really great. I have taken it on many road trips as it has decent gas mileage and it is very quiet. It was nice driving it along the Blue Ridge parkway. Overall the only main issues) I have had is the o2 sensor messing up. Once fixing that the car was perfect.

It is a great buy and most definitely worth every penny.
I love the extra features and body style! I dislike the gas mileage, but that is my own fault for opting to get the 5. 0.

Great car if you like the wind in your hair.
The long front makes it hard to see when pulling into parking spots. Paint faded in Florida sun and the roof(convertible) fades as well. There are lines where the creases are. The paint on the door handles on the inside of the car had to be replaced. However love the way the car drives.

It is comfortable to sit in special seats.
I like the ride. I like it is a convertible. I like the extra features for the seats. It is easy to parallel park. It is nice looking.
