Great first car. Runs amazingly. Just body problems.

2004 Ford Taurus SE

I have had very few problems with this car the engine still runs great, there is a slight leak from the oil pan, but regular checks of the oil make it so that the problem is minor. The body has rusted out long before the engine plans to quit. I find it reliable, it has started in -50 degree temps. The car fits everything that I need to live in a dorm room meaning it has plenty of space with room still in the front to fit comfortably without feeling squished in. Has automatic windows, door locks, great heat. Currently does not have AC didn't have the working parts when car was bought and I have no issues with that. It does have what we are pretty sure is an aftermarket CD changer in the trunk. Great car. I love it. Just wish the body would've lasted a bit longer.

Taurus always dependable.

2004 Ford Taurus SE

This car has the Vulcan OHV engine, it requires a higher amp alternator because of the electrical system, it has never given me problems, minor issues such as the gas cap light coming on, the rubber seal for the gas cap dries out causing a vacuum code to come on, it is an easy fix just get a new gas cap, this car has always handled well the biggest thing I have had to change are the outer tie rods after ten years, gas mileage has always been between 25 to 30 miles per gallon, overall a good car to own

Great gas mileage and still decent sized.

2004 Ford Taurus SE

Goes through starters and tires fast. Front end unbalanced and needs realignment often. Great on gas and nice size for family of 4. I've really gotten my money's worth. I have been looking at newer models and I really can't decide. It's very easy and affordable to maintain. I love the huge trunk and nice roomy backseat. Just wish it wasn't so hard on tires.

Option to check number of things in the driver seat.

2004 Ford Taurus SE

I purchased my car used, however I do not believe that affects too much other than being newer. I haven't had any major issues with my car I check everything regularly though( oil, fluids, all around maintenance) I have never had any major problems and I drive my car daily. It is easy on gas as well. I would recommend the ford Taurus any day!

the rear brakes squeak really loudly. But it does not affect the actual breaks.

2004 Ford Taurus SE

It's a good car but there have been a lot of problems with it in the past. After fixing those it is a reliable car. There is a problem with the vacuum tube so the air conditioner vents don't work in the front but that can be fixed. So overall it's reliable, but a lot of money has been put into the car just to repair minor things.

Ford Taurus is an excellent car!

2004 Ford Taurus SE

It is very comfortable to drive and ride in. It does have some problems with the idle and the engine is lean, but those things can be fixed. It would be nice if there were a CD player in the dashboard, not just the CD changer in the trunk. That makes it difficult to listen to music. Other than that, I really like the car!

I love my 2004 Ford Taurus, wouldn't change it for the world

2004 Ford Taurus SE

My car is a trooper, I bought it from auction for $81 with a crushed rear end, put about $300 worth of used parts into it and it has been my only vehicle with nothing but changing brakes and oil for the past 4 years, it's pretty big as well, so it's ideal for a small family, amazing on gas, I love this car

I like the cup holder feature and that it can seat six legally.

2004 Ford Taurus SE

Mine was purchased at an auction, at 108000 miles on it and it was really taken care of. No real engine problems until year later when the ac/ compressor went out and the ac is connected to a lot with this car or the battery will start acting up and the serpentine belt broke had to get all of it replaced.

- Roxanne N

I was very satisfied and relieved that everything was good.

2004 Ford Taurus SE

When I bought it I had replace the starter. And the previous owner really didn't really do any tune ups. When I brought it home I had to change the oil and drain some transmission fluid, it was way over the mark. There were 2 spark plugs that were loose. So after I did all that it runs pretty good.

Family car, reliable and sporty.

2004 Ford Taurus SE

The ford Taurus is a very reliable and sturdy car. It is comfortable and has great performance. Brakes are very good, some issues with acceleration/engine but overall it is a very good car considering it is from 2004. It has childproof locks on windows in backseat. It is a family friendly car.

Can't go wrong with this full size sedan! Lots of room in a dependable vehicle

2004 Ford Taurus SE

This car is an all around dependable vehicle. It drives very smooth. Has tons of room for the comfort of the driver and passengers, front and back. Besides the look of the car, that's starting to outdate, you couldn't ask for a better vehicle! Long drives are no problem for this vehicle!!

Ford Taurus issues and reviews.

2004 Ford Taurus SE

Brakes need to be changed frequently, bad battery always dying and transmission goes out. Driving in the vehicle is smooth, nice weighted car. Don't car for the upkeep costs which can be anywhere from $50-$1000 due to the transmission which affects the way the battery stays charged.

It's okay, but expensive to maintain

2004 Ford Taurus SE

In the 4 years we've had it we have put more into the car than it is worth. I would not buy again. When all parts are working it is a good car, but overall expensive to upkeep. It is decently fuel efficient which is good if you commute to work and it picks up speed pretty well

General 2004 Ford Taurus Review: 15 years later

2004 Ford Taurus SE

Very comfortable interior with good but outdated amenities such as CD player in trunk. Typically a smooth running vehicle that has performed well in all weather conditions. Have had issues with fuel pump, alternator, and other engine troubles causing repairs/replacements.

My perfect little family car.

2004 Ford Taurus SE

It runs great and it's the perfect size for my family. I drive it every single day. I never had a problem with it and it's great for my first car. Everything inside is clean and perfect so my family loves it just like me. It's a perfect family car. Thank you.
