I like the size of the Acadia, it has plenty of room for a family of 5. The seats fold down if I need more storage space. Also, the Acadia handles well in a variety of road conditions such as snow, sleet or rain.
It has a lot of space. AWD. DVD system is nice. Interior is nice. Body style is attractive. I like the push button lift gate. The seats are comfortable. The seats set up and fold down with ease for hauling. Dials on the steering wheel are easy to access radio.
Our vehicle has Heated seats, 3rd row, back up cameras. All of these things we love and come in really handy since we have such a big family. The maintenance on the vehicle is not expensive either which is a plus.
This is the last year of the bigger size. Drives smooth. I love the three rows of seats, and it can fit my 4 teenagers very comfortably. The back cargo area is probably the biggest of its class. I can fit the whole family and plenty of bags, sports equipment and whatever else.
It is big, and spacious. The car has a great engine, and brakes. The brakes and engine last for a long time before needing a change, or repair. The car is comfortable meaning that it is smooth. There are a lot of seats.
Room for 7, very low maintenance costs, no major engine or transmission problems; has option for leather interior; sunroof is nice touch for kids in back seats; I have only had to change oil and purchase new tires for this car.
Love the third row in order to fit more people. The bucket seats make it easy to climb into the back seat without having to fold down and climb over the seats. The size is not too large to make it difficult to park like some larger SUVs.
Very roomy, smooth ride, good looking, decent gas mileage, captains chairs, seats fold down for more space, nice speakers, rear controlled heating, side step bars, great pearl color, large tires, four doors.
The Acadia is sometimes difficult to see out of. The could be because I am vertically challenged (shirt). Also, the Acadia has had some engine issues but this only occurred once I reached 200,000 miles. Prior to this, I did not have issues.
This vehicle runs awful. I constantly have problems with it running. It does not get good gas mileage. It is not easy to work on. I would never buy this car again. It seems to have a lot of fuel issues that are impossible to figure out and fix. It runs rough and blows black smoke out the back and at times you can smell fuel in the cab. It is junk.
We have found that many places do not work on our vehicle because of its make and year. The headlights for this SUV do have a tendency to go out. Which can be expensive to fix. After having it for a while the inside interiors will begin to fall off.
The mechanics of the engine and a/c are horrible. I have already had to have $6000 worth of a/c work done. So, thank god for the warranty. The engine mounts are constantly breaking. The Bluetooth has a mind of its own and you cannot play music and accepts calls at the same time. A big thing is not being able to change a headlight yourself. The whole front has to be removed to do so. This has to be done either at the dealership or a mechanic shop, costing anywhere between $150-$250.
The vehicle's lights such as the front lights burn out or do not work even after a fix after going to the GMC dealership. The cars back sunroof does not work. The car starts shaking at around the speed of 70 mph.
The storage space is small when the rear seats are upright; the DVD player stopped working; window controls are sticking which causes one of the rear windows to not roll up; the blower fan in the rear has stopped working causing the heat/air to not blow in the back of the vehicle.
The back trunk space is small when the third row is up. It is hard to clean out the tracks from the middle bucket seats without a good vacuum that has a small tip. There is nothing else I do not care for with this vehicle.
Smaller than a you Tahoe, a bit old, ridiculous bound spot front right and in the sides of the car, kind of like a van on steroids, getting old, headlights are hard to change, captains chairs do not lay completely flat.
The 2012 GMC Acadia has an average owner rating of 4.19 out of 5 which ranks it #17 of 22 other Midsize SUVs.
