Unicorn Truck
My 2017 GMC Canyon Denali 4x4 2.8 Duramax has exceeded my expectations in towing, mpg, comfort and gadgets. We pull our 5000 pound travel trailer with ease in various terrains and the diesel braking system safely keeps you off the brakes. The tow rating is over 7000 pounds unmatched by any midsize pickup. The extra $ upgrade to diesel is worth it for towing and mpg at 30 on highway. Due to supply chain issues GMC is going to discontinue the diesel option making these trucks availability very limited with a price premium if you can find one.

Canyon Denali trucks are not just for men.
I have had no issues with this vehicle. This truck performs great, it handles nicely in all kinds of weather and road conditions. It has a nice comfortable ride with a quiet cabin and adjustable heat/cool seats. I have found it to be quite gas efficient and has all the creature comforts including a wonderful sound system. I have so many options for listening.

It is super spacious and comfortable interior very reliable and easy to maintain.
I have owned my GMC canyon for 2 years and I haven't had any issues with the engine the drive train or cosmetic. I have only ever had to sue routine maintenance. It is reliable and great on gas. I have owned several new GMCs and I have always had nothing but a positive experience and will continue to drive GMC.

GMC canyon is still not a Tacoma!
Cup holders too small. Rear window is not powered. You would think a Denali package in a vehicle like this would have a powered rear window and cup holders big enough to fit a water bottle! It also has odd shifting points that seem to make the engine have higher rpms than it should.

I love my care but I just wanted a truck to feel the difference between a sedan.
Its a basic truck but great to go out to the river, and traveling over the country, there is no problem with handling the parking, safe and you can do modifications I also use this as a daily car and it's perfect. You will feel the different from a sedan to a trick in compare to high.

Enough truck for what I need.
My 2017 GMC canyon is the 2.8l duramax diesel. It is an amazing truck. Fuel mileage between 20-30 mph. This truck will tow anything you need. Crew cab is large enough to fit my family of 4 plus the dog. I have the all terrain package which is great on the camp roads too. I will absolutely buy another GMC canyon duramax in the future.

Gorgeous truck inside and out!
I love my GMC Canyon, it drives really well and not like a truck at all. The cab is spacious and meets my needs for hauling people and things. I've had it for two years and never had any issues with reliability. The features on the Denali trim will keep this truck in my driveway for years. Classy and functional truck. It looks amazing and performs really well. It also includes heated seats, apple carplay, several USB ports for charging and syncing. The leather interior is also gorgeous.

It is black on black. Lifted with new black wheels.
The vehicle is great.. It is a four wheel drive. Interior is nice just like the exterior is. It drives smooth. I would highly recommend it..Features are. Heated seats, leather seats, sunroof, four wheel drive, child safety lock, navigation, GPS, sound system, tinted windows.

2017 GMC canyon, trailer hauling and kid transport.
Like the safety and design. Do not like that it takes a moment to kick into gear when I first pull out of the driveway. Good for pulling our camp trailer and hauling stuff around.

The GMC canyon, is a great everyday vehicle.
Love my truck, roomy with 4 doors but plenty of room for things in the back. Plus the bed has a cover so in any weather I can put things back there. The only problem we might have had was a new battery because we only have 20000 miles on the truck but then the battery was under warranty so there was no cost. So far the dealerships we have taken it to have been great. Probably will think about the larger GMC SUV for a future vehicle but for now the truck is exactly what we need to get around town. Long trips are also great in this truck.

Problems with this truck
Truck shifts bad bangs into gear like I hit something does not do it all the time but scares me everytime it does it. Hard to keep tires balanced in 49 I had to rebalance all tires 9 times. Good fuel mileage 24 to 30 highway if I burn shell Premium can get 600 miles or more a tank. It's hard to get in and out of to high up and top of door to low so can hit your head even if your 5 foot inches tall.

It is capable of performing what slightly larger vehicles in its class can perform.
I bought this vehicle because I need a vehicle that would allow me to tow small items like small boats or small camper. It provides better than average gas mileage for me and contains all the equipment like navigation, backup camera, etc. That I wanted. No dislikes of this vehicle.

It is very important to me to keep it in one piece important thing so be careful when you're driving

The quality of the truck sucks
The front leather seat covers have been replaced twice now the keep coming loose. And there is a rattle or something lose that the dealer hasn't been able to fix

GM Canada sucks
My 2017 canyon has been at the dealership for 5 months, it stops running when powering or passing on a hill (UNDER POWER) GM is going to buy it back from me & only willing to pay 1/2 of the price I paid for it. It only has 30000 kms. On it. If you have to deal with GM you are in for a wake up call........One very unhappy customer

2017 GMC canyon: great truck.
Considering my previous truck a 2004 dodge Dakota, my canyon has everything I want. Four wheel drive, side runners, Sirius satellite radio, it is an automatic drive. I has power windows, and remote locks. I can start it while I am in the house. It has seat warmers that can be adjusted for each person in the front seats. I can shift into four wheel drive very easily. OnStar services were included. I can also create my own Wifi hotspot in the truck if I chose.

It has a smooth ride. The steering is also smooth. Very little road noise
2017 GMC Canyon. Overall I'm really happy with. The only problem is the fuel mileage isn't as high as I expected

Great truck!! Must buy for any size trip!!
No problems love my truck. Ride extremely smooth. Gas mileage is great. My wife and I drove it from Oklahoma to California with no problems and had plenty of room. I normally drive it to and from work with no problems I love having the remote start and backup camera.
accountCircle DAVID C on March 14, 2020
It has good ride quality and plenty of power.
I like the MPG's. I like the ride quality. I wish it had a shorter turn radius. I wish it was easier to check the trans fluid level.

This truck sure comes with comfort class and power.
The vehicle itself is a comfortable ride. Handles more like a car than a truck. I enjoy the power I get from the v6 making the highway drive a bit better and also the engine going into v4 at certain speeds most definitely helps save gas. I do wish I had the heated steering wheel but the heated seats are still great for the winter. Also I enjoy the Bose speakers this came with. I enjoy the bass and everything. Helps make the drive the much better with the apple CarPlay.

King of the mid-sized trucks!
Smooth riding and quiet for a truck. V6 is quite powerful, however, the 8 speed automatic is fussy at times. The size is just right, not cumbersome to drive or park.

Denali with the 2.8 Duramax
Purchased the hard to find 2.8 Duramax with the Denali trim package. We are also lucky to find one in Mineral Metallic. Since we plan on towing a travel trailer we decided not to settle for the gas engine. Very impressed with the truck so far. Lots of torque and power. Avg. 23 to 27 mpg in mixed driving. Now we are looking for the perfect travel trailer to complete the package.

Silver light truck with running boards.
The truck has running boards. It is still kind of difficult to get in and out. The seat belt on the passenger side does not retract properly, but the dealership is going to fix it, as it is under warranty. It is silver, which we like. It is equipped with automatic start.

Take care of it and it will take care of you. It handles well in inclement weather (michigan) and has not let me down.
My truck is comfortable to drive and handles very well. The response of the transmission is good and it has not left me stranded anywhere. The only thing that could be better is gas mileage, but for a truck 21 is pretty good. The fan for the air conditioner/heater could be quieter but with the radio on it isn't a big deal

Basic GMC canyon truck with upgrades.
I bought a 4 cylinder canyon truck. It is great on gas mileage. The truck bed is shorter, however it still works well for loading small things. I have a tow package in case I need to haul more than the truck is capable of in the bed. I wish I have voice command and heated seats but I got the basic package.
accountCircle Stephanie C on November 11, 2019
Excellent smooth drive, definitely recommend.
The drive and ride are very smooth. No complaints whatsoever about my truck. Excellent decision was made when I purchased this vehicle.

Go Anywhere, Do Anything!
Our GMC Canyon is a diesel. It has the comfort and durability of a full size truck. We haven't had any problems with it and plan to keep it for several years. We have pulled trailers and RVs with ease. It's easy to drive in rainy or snowy conditions and the GPS is usually very y accurate.
accountCircle Catherine Y on July 17, 2019
The back up camera is wonderful!.
I find it easy to handle, it is Wi-Fi enabled. I do wish it had dual temperature controls and leather seats with heated and cooling features.

High up to see all around me.
Love my truck, high up so I can see all around me. Has all the necessary perks and still fits in my garage. Will allow me to tow almost anything.

GMC Canyon peels and insights
This truck is perfect for a first time truck owner. The bed is just long enough that you can carry items that you will need. The technology inside of the truck is not where other trucks are at but still give it the technology that you need. Truck runs great and very smooth. Has some power behind it but not that much but for the basic model it is just perfect. Does have some shifting problems that can jerk the truck and sometimes wants to stall when starting and going right away.

Little too no road noise.
Small with good gas mileage. Beautiful with great lines. Quite ride with very little road noise. Simple love the way it looks and rides.

Denali is top of the line!
Love it. Denali is loaded, has nav. Heated seats & steering wheel. Cool seats, Sirius XM radio & 4-4. Drives so smooth!

It is reliable. Picks up and drives great.
It is a great truck for the money. No mechanical issues other than a bulletin notice that required the transmission fluid to be flushed. It is reliable. The 6 foot truck bed is sufficient for most loads. Great sound system. Can haul a small trailer and can handle terrain.
accountCircle Mikka P on April 6, 2019
It's like a truck body on a car engine. The gas mileage is awesome
I love the size and that I can carry a lot of stuff. It just takes forever to speed up which makes it harder to drive in traffic. It feels like a truck body on a car motor. Gas mileage is great though
accountCircle Barbara S on February 14, 2019
It has a v6 engine in it.
My GMC truck has Wi-Fi capabilities and I can listen to my phone's music through the infotainment center. The seat belt on the passenger side does not retract right so the company is going to fix it since it is a new vehicle. The truck is very comfortable.
accountCircle Randy G on February 11, 2019

Understanding the transmission on a canyon.
Love the truck but I have to think about how the transmission works. I think it feels like it is missing but the information on the transmission is it supposed to react differently with the person who drives it. But I notice the issue when driving on the freeway not on surface streets. I have tried to do research on the issue but have not come up with similar complaints. Will try to look through independent reviews. But other than the transmission, I feel the truck is perfect for me. The size fits into my garage and with the four doors it is like a car but with the locking covered bed it has plenty of room for all kinds of stuff.
