Although I have only owned this vehicle for a short time period, I am very impressed with it. The 8 speed transmission provides the vehicle with smooth and reassuring shifts. Additionally, the 3.6l 6 cylinder engine produces a punch-ey 308 horsepower. This source of power is ideal for the size of the truck and feels secure yet powerful. Surprisingly, one of the first things I noticed about the truck was the usefulness of the built in cargo lights. With the flip of a switch, the entire bed of my truck is illuminated. Overall, I am very impressed with the build quality and practicality of this vehicle.

The truck tracks every mile! You also have apple play! Which is a life saver!
I love my truck.. I wish it was a little bigger but other than that! No complaints! I come from a long line of people who own GMC trucks and they lost forever! I recommend this truck to any single parent or someone who does not want to have a huge truck!

My GMC truck experiences and flaws.
The truck is really good for looks and all but can have its problems too, but that's how all trucks are, they have there upsides and downsides. One issue I do sometimes have is that the truck can squeak along the road on long road trips. But I still do love the truck.

2018 new GMC canyon review.
I bought my vehicle brand new about 2 years ago, and so far I haven't had any problems with it. The ride is still as smooth as it was when I drove it off the lot. It came with apple carplay, which is really neat and I didn't realize what I was missing out on., I wouldn't say apple carplay is a must when looking at vehicles, but it sure is nice to have, especially when using the navigation through a large metroplex.

It gets great gas mileage for a truck!
The comfort of this car surpasses all of the other like size models made by the other big guys. It drives so smooth, which really helped with how often I drive. The technology inside of it is top of the line and really adds to the overall experience as well.

My favorite feature is the back up cam.
I have not had any problems with my truck thus far. I love it and enjoy driving it. It is comfortable and reliable. I have 3 kids and the back seat is spacious for them. It is more difficult to park because of the longer bed, so parking in tight spots can be an issue.

I like the size of my truck in regard to parking and driving in traffic. The main complaints I have involve the small inside. The 2 back seats are basically useless. An adult can squeeze in but not comfortable for any length of time. The back doors open up suicide style and front door has to be open first, this causes issues when putting items in backseat if someone is parked next to you. I have a very basic plain model and really miss heated seats but otherwise they are comfortable. As a female reviewer I do not like the fact I have to put my purse in the back seat if I have a passenger. Very inconvenient. I think this truck overall is good and best suited for a single person who rarely has passengers. It is great for someone who needs to haul stuff but does not want a full size truck.

It great to drive and is a nice ride.
It makes my life much easier. Dirt roads are no longer a problem because the truck handles them much easier than my other car. Drives really great. The only thing that might be better is that it is a little lite in the rear and tends to bounce more on rough roads.

If you need a truck for hauling bigger loads but compact this is for you.
My truck has been very reliable since owning. I have had it for 3 years now without many issues. The only thing that I could say negatively is that sometimes it seems as though the gears get stuck in between automatic shifting and that the passenger side front seat is not super comfortable but it does the job I guess.

2018 GMC canyon one niece truck!
No problems very reliable and comfortable. Performance is much better and than expected. This model has most of the options I wanted with leather interior power seats and climate control. The only thing I wish I had would be lane change warning and collision avoidance.

Interior Issues
The trim on the driver door arm rest is delaminating; looks like it is peeling or cracking. The passenger seat covering is coming loose in the front on the bottom.

Good vehicle, just needs a few tweaks.
I enjoy the look and performance of the vehicle. The reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is because it is not that roomy inside and it is a bit difficult to get in and out of the truck. The step bars that are installed are more of a hassle than anything. I suppose they would work fine if I was shorter. I am about 6' and have scraped my ankle multiple times when getting out of the vehicle.

Great truck. Runs on diesel, has a touch screen radio, had some issues with random rattling noises within vehicle when first bought but easy fix. Plenty of room inside, comfortable. Long bed fits anything and everything. Lots of accessories for vehicle as well.

Eliminate blind spot or add lane detector.
Overall awesome truck. Interior design needs work to make it functional. Door cup holders are at a 30 degree slant? The charging pad does not accept normal size phone maybe in 2010 but not 2018. Terrible blind spot on driver's side . Cannot understand why eyesight system is not designed in this truck. As the salesman said it is a truck?

4.5 Star Review, 2018 GMC 2.8L Diesel Canyon Denali Crew Cab Long Bed 4X4, 36,584 miles I am retired and don’t need a large truck to haul or tow heavy loads, however the long bed provides great utility and the Roll-N-Lock Tonneau cover keeps things dry and secure. The 7550 lb. Towing capacity gives an additional 550 lbs. Over the largest gas engine available in the Canyon/Colorado lines. Mileage on this truck is a bit high for two years of ownership, but we have traveled extensively from our Western Washington home to California, New Mexico, Oregon and Michigan in fantastic comfort with fuel mileage between 29 to 36 mpg depending on terrain at highway speeds. Towing a 2500 lb. Trailer and boat combination drops performance to around 19 to 21 mpg. It is one of the most reliable vehicles I’ve owned. I am impressed with this vehicle and recommend it to anyone, if you can live with my very persnickety cons listed below. Pros: Great Style and Color (The Red Quartz Tintcoat and Denali Chrome bring lots of compliments). Long bed capacity. Built in Electric Trailer Brake Comfortable but firm seating and legroom. Smooth ride and it handles nearly as nice as my Corvette Responsive engine and great auto transmission when driven like a stick shift. Great Mileage (for a pickup). Outstanding driver visibility Inside and outside mirrors auto-tint at night. The Tow/Haul Mode is fantastic on mountain roads. Cons: No factory towing mirrors available with the towing package. No Home Link system for your garage door (Hey, this is a Denali). The Wireless phone charging pad is to small for an iPnone. The Denali leather interior comes in any color, so long as its black. A replacement screw for the intake filter box lid costs more than $160.00 (The screws cannot be found anywhere, and replacements only come attached to the intake box lid). Always, always, always check the engine room after the dealership performs maintenance in there. Diesel Canyons/Colorados are rare so it is hard to find used replacement parts. The Forward Collision Alert — DOESN’T (Totally worthless and the owners manual says as much).

Build quality lacking
3 star. Nice looking truck, a few issues with fit and finish, which is concerning for a vehicle at this price. Tail lights cheap and flimsy. HID lights dull intensity. Hood metal is light and flexes while driving down the highway, apparently due to wind buffering due to dealer installed hood protector. Blew engine oil cooler line at 90000 Kms, due to corrosion. Reliable enough though i would suppose. Next vehicle will be a Toyota.

Very comfortable and smooth ride. The quality of the car makes me feel very safe and at ease while driving. The interior has an updated feel for a pickup. The speakers are clear and do not rattle. Lots of storage and the tailgate had a slow release which is great. Bed size is perfect for all household needs.

Very reliable car, good size, comfortable drive, good in snow, slips in rain (needs sandbags in the bed or weight to keep from fishtailing). Needs a bed liner but the size of the bed is perfect for my use. Back seat is spacious and seats are comfortable.

This is the first GMC I have owned and am absolutely pleased with it.
My 2018 GMC Canyon is a 6 speed manual 4 cylinder. It gets roughly 24-26 mpg. It rides smoothly for a truck and is easy to shift. My favorite feature is the hill assist.

Awesome Truck, Not Too Big or Small
The Canyon sits up high enough to see easily. Unlike with smaller cars, I don't have trouble getting in and out of the truck. Super comfortable, no issues so far. No blind spot issues, good visibility. I love the blue color that it came in. Would definitely recommend.

Pulls large boat very well!
We have not ever had any problems with our GMC canyon. It has good gas mileage. It really gets up and goes like when entering the highway. We also use the GMC canyon to pull our tracker deep v boat. The canyon had never had any problem pulling the boat.

2018 GMC canyon Denali overview.
My 2018 GMC canyon is overall a great truck. It is very comfortable for me (I am 5'7'). I take road trips in it all the time and the ride is not only smooth, but also very quiet due to the triple door seals. The 8 speed transmission is nice, but it does lack the 'get-up' you need when needing to downshift and go quickly like merging on the highway or passing someone. The Bose sound system is a great addition to the truck and never disappoints. I wish they had better stock tires on the vehicle, but they have been using them for a while now. I really like the truck, but due to the torque converter problems with the 8 speed transmission I will not be keeping this truck over the powertrain warranty due to the fear of it not working properly with the recall issued earlier this yr.

Good for the price but a waste of time.
Constantly having issues with the truck. Check engine light turns on often. I have to bring it to the dealership almost every 2 months because of car issues. A struggle to get in and out of. Spacious and comfortable but not worth it with the constant visits to the dealership to have it fixed.

This truck fits in my garage easily.The tremendous horsepower is amazing with a world class performance exhaust system with a 4x4 all wheel drive auto feature. The only problem is a torque converter shudder at constant speeds which causes the transmission to drag the engine with a heavy load on start up it backfires occasionally. GM installed the wrong transmission oil. The dealership put synthetic oil at 35.00 a quart which took 20 quarts after a transmission flushed out lines an trans cooler. The engine now starts and runs load free, what amazing difference when driving now, very smooth and no hard jumps on take off with a very quiet engine exhaust noise. The backup camera has a bright led light that i cannot adjust to dim at night so i just cover it with a towel so i can see when backing up. This truck is a dream to drive, it handles the road well i just hope i can get better gas mileage of 13 since the transmission drag is gone.

This is a great mid size truck!
Truck tows well, rides well is very stylish, very comfortable and has great features. Gets great gas mileage for a truck. Wish the dealer would've had a diesel in stock but the gas model is great. Only issue is a shudder when driving at a steady speed.

I love my GMC it has a very smooth ride. It is very comfortable for taking a long vacation trip. You can easily take phone calls with this new feature that connects to your phone without having to get your device on your hand. This GMC also turns into standard mode and it is motor is v-6. It is also very fuel efficient, it is white color keeps the inside of vehicle very cool in the hot summer days. The inside of this vehicle is super spacious, you can place your belongings on the back seats so you can have all the front space for yourself. This vehicle is very affordable would not trade it for any other.

My truck has a bed cover.
It is great. The vehicle it reliable, looks great, drives well. The ability to pull things or put stuff in the back is valuable. I also appreciate it is size it is almost as easy to park as a car not as difficult as the full size. Pretty decent amount of room! Leather seat are comfortable with great climate control for the front, the back however is more difficult to cool off.

2018 GMC canyon, 4 door, 4wd, v6.
I have not had any problems! I love my truck. It is very roomy and comfortable for the family. It does great on gas both in town and also when we go on trips out of town! Some highlighted features for me are the mirror screen and how the engine will switch from a v6 to a v4 on the highway to save gas.

Looks nice but does not drive well.
I do not like the bumpy ride with the current shocks. I do not like the hesitation as it stalls during shift to first gear from a stop. I do not like the radio set up. Overall it is a nice looking truck but does not drive very well. After market items on this truck were very hard to locate.

Canyon good running truck. Needs transmission issues addressed in future models.
Had transmission problems early on. Had to flush transmission before 15,000 miles. That is a major problem a new vehicle shouldn have transmission problems before 20,000 miles. Otherwise I like the fuel mileage I get with the truck. The truck runs smooth on the interstate and handles well in bad weather.

This vehicle is perfect if you are looking for economical truck. It is perfect for small loads. Great if you have small kids. Though it does not have enough leg room in the back for adults. We use our truck for hunting so there’s enough room for ice chests. I just wish I had went with a better trim package.

Great truck for adventures.
Runs and drives great. It has 60,000 miles, driven cross country, through mountains, and desert with no issues. 4wd works amazing in the snow and mud. Love having cruise control and being able to adjust the speed with just my thumb. One thing that would make this truck even better is being able to just the radio on the steering wheel because voice control through Bluetooth doesn't always work the best.
