It is dependable. It runs great. It is a big SUV.
It is dependable. I have no car payments. Rent a lot of cars, so get to try new vehicles. What do not like? May want something new because 2006 a long time ago.
accountCircle Jackie R
This car has everything a car owner could ever want in a vehicle.
I love this vehicle. Sure I have had some normal wear and tear issues over the years but all in all, I feel safe, confident being a little higher on the road than a 4 door car. Fortunately or unfortunately, I live in an area that has every store and restaurant or franchise in the world (or so it appear to be) so I never have to drive far. So now my car is 13 years old and the mileage is under 50k. Car still drives like a car much newer than the age it is.

Smooth ride on the inside.
The vehicle is great. It's a smooth ride and is very comfortable to sit in. It does seem to rust quicker than other vehicles I am aware of. But otherwise holds up really well to the elements. I have not had many, if any problems other than general maintenance with my vehicle.
accountCircle Wayne Y
Handles well, you sit high up with good visibility. Will hold 7 people.
Great SUV, has been a solid vehicle for us, good transportation with not to many problems. Been reliable and mostly trouble free.
accountCircle Melissa y
It's all mine and fun to drive
I love my car because it's paid for. I get great gas mileage. The only thing I dislike is for my daycare kids it's to small
accountCircle ali r
Does not feel like you are driving a big vehicle and I love that!!!
It's a great vehicle with TONS of room, we traveled across the country with all our camping gear for a month! Super comfortable! Great gas mileage, smooth ride
accountCircle Marr B
The 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix fast dependable reliable.
My vehicle has moderate space on the inside. The engine performance is exceptionally good, especially with acceleration. For me this car is wonderful to drive. And the power windows and locks are a bonus. The only issue I see is the placement of the fuel pump for maintenance.
accountCircle Christopher T
It does have the towing package I love taking this on longer trips.
Love the ride on this vehicle. Easy to maneuver and very comfortable. It had 133K on it when I purchased. Although, Upon initial inspection, it did have some well known issues that had to be resolved. Such as lighting in the gauge cluster, front end parts and needed a full brake job all the way around. Gas mileage is right in the zone at about 18 - 19 MPG.

The GMC envoy is good car to have!
I got the vehicle from car-mart, it runs smooth. The vehicle comes in handy for family trips, and or having road trips. This is my first vehicle and I like it a lot. It's pretty good on gas as well, I will say tires for the vehicle is pretty expensive. But I do love it, and it's a good car.

GMC Shocking Ups and Downs
There are some great features about this car - it has some get up and go and love how roomy it is. However we have had a lot of problems with this car. Currently getting ready to replace the shocks and struts because it is an air shock system and has a leak.
accountCircle Sara S
Leather so it does not get too hot but does get cold. Name brand radio by bose.
Bad on gas, takes a little bit to warm up, breaks go bad quick. $60 to fill up the tank. There's no horn, lights are always going out. There's not much room. Windows get stuck, doors creek. The radio speaker is blown, radio is out of date meaning no AUX or Bluetooth setting.
accountCircle Megan R
It has very poor gas mileage.
It is a good size for 3 of us. The electrical system is messed up. Poor gas mileage. Leather is a good fabric to keep clean and wipe up easily.
accountCircle Brittany D
A great smooth ride, but requires a lot of maintenance.
Everything has almost been replaced. I love how smooth it rides, third row seating is a plus, but not ideal with car seats in the second row.
accountCircle Michelle M
Love the truck but it's getting old and has some problems
Windshield wipers do not work you have to take the fuse out to get them to shut off. The stabilitrak has a problem. The check engine light is on with a code that no one can seem to figure out. I love the truck but it has had some issues. It has oil leak somewhere and the change oil comes on even after I do an oil change. I'm told it's a pressure sensor switch.
accountCircle Susanna D
Very reliable transportation.
Linkage slippage. The gas cap has been replaced 3 times due to check engine light coming on. Very reliable and smooth driving. Not to bad on gas mileage. Has never had any major repairs in the 8 years I have owned it.
accountCircle Felicia G
10 year old envoy.. Still running.
It has been a great car for the most part. Just needs routine maintenance. The biggest challenge was the sensors. Had to replace and the cooling system not working. It has a smooth ride and pretty comfortable. Has not given many problems that was very expensive.

The GMC Envoy is the best SUV out there.
The Envoy is a smooth ride. The four wheel drive is awesome for tough terrain. The front bucket seats have electric power and recline well. There is plenty of room on the inside for whatever you need to carry. The motor is a straight 6 and has lots of get up and go about it. No slow pokes here.
accountCircle doren g on March 16, 2021
It's great for all terrain driving and great for a family vehicle.
It has a good four wheel drive system in it. It gets decent gas mileage. I really don't have any complaints about it.

Pros from Owners

likeFilled Melissa H.

Good height, nice, comfortable ride, still looks good.Reliable. Decent gas mileage, heated seats are a real plus. Good visibility over smaller vehicles. Easy to maneuver. Back windshield wiper is a very nice addition.

likeFilled Tameka L.

Nice and very common truck that people are still driving. Strong American made V6 engine. Smooth ride. 20 Inch alloy chrome rims with cameras and touch screen radio. All leather seats with tinted windows.

likeFilled Jenny B.

3 Row seating. V8 motor. Fully loaded: leather, heated seats, power windows, power locks, entertainment package, sun/moonroof. Has nice power, gets up and goes. Easy to drive, smooth ride with airbag suspension.

likeFilled Stephanie L.

It is a good solid 4x4 so it gets through the snow and other elements very well. It also has a third row of seating for larger families so it is a good alternative for those who need the extra seating but do not want a minivan. The cargo space is fairly large as well. It is a reliable vehicle.

likeFilled Kayla C.

The car I drive most often is an envoy. I bought it used, but it is amazon. I really enjoy this vehicle because it has 4wd and a second row of seating. It is spacious in the back for traveling. The heat and ac also work great.

likeFilled Susan S.

The pros for my vehicle is the leather interior, the heated seats, the auto seats, the auto locks, sunroof, satellite radio, auto wipers, cruise control, the awesome stereo system. The color of the outside and inside coordinating perfectly.

likeFilled Casey C.

The air conditioning blows very cold. Pretty reliable vehicle. I researched the vehicle on carfax and a few other places to check on the dependents and performance. Everything seemed to be what I was looking for at the time. The only thing I really do not like about this vehicle is the gas mileage. I can use this vehicle as a family vehicle or for recreational use. ( I can use as a car or truck)) and I love that about it.

likeFilled Ash S.

It is very spacious and has plenty of room to haul groceries, items when seats fold down, and people. It has a great sound system by Bose and all kinds of additions such as a DVD player in the back. It drives well.

Cons from Owners

dislikeFilled Melissa H.

Inside cabin can be very noisy. As with all SUVs, it can be subject to high winds causing a bit of swaying. The paint job can blister in some places and the rims of the wheels are very hard to keep clean. Luggage rack can cause a bit of drag on the highway.

dislikeFilled Tameka L.

It's worn. Parts for SUV are extremely high. Electrical issues with AC. Need Tire Rods for the front tires. The SUV does not go over 40 mph. Some windows do not roll down. The SUV has seen better days I believe.

dislikeFilled Jenny B.

Does have some blind spots. Can be tricky for unskilled drivers. Maintenance can be a little higher as it is a GM product. As, I have only owned the vehicle for about 3 months I do not have many cons at this moment in time.

dislikeFilled Stephanie L.

The vehicle is a little narrow so it feels a little crowded in the front seat. One of the cup holders is also inconveniently located right above the shifter making it pretty useless. The leg space in the middle row is very small so not ideal for adults to sit in as it can become uncomfortable. It is a little difficult to get in and out of the third row.

dislikeFilled Kayla C.

The car works great overall. Sometimes while driving it sounds like a window is open, but it is not. There has not been a ton of extra work that has been needed to be put into the car maintenance wise. Just, regular upkeep.

dislikeFilled Susan S.

This has been my first GMC purchase and most definitely not my last. GMC makes an awesome automobile I have nothing bad to say about it. From the color combination to the heated seats, sunroof, auto lights, auto wipers, temperature control, awesome radio,

dislikeFilled Casey C.

Overall I really enjoy this vehicle. I do not like the gas mileage. It's horrible on gas. With this specific SUV I am now having problems with my UV joints. But, when I was looking to purchase the envoy the only true con was gas.

dislikeFilled Ash S.

It needs a lot of maintenance and upkeep. It is longer than the usual which makes it tougher backing out of places. In the back, the middle row is a bench seat which can be inconvenient at times, especially with getting people in and out.

Is The 2006 GMC Envoy A Good Car?

Yes. It is very dependable and I have many uses for it. Large enough interior to carry dogs, groceries, small trees, and other gardening supplies. Fairly good gas mileage too.

Yes. I love the way it drives and rides. Have not had any major problems with it other than regular maintenance.
Rachel S.
Yes ride's smooth. Loaded plenty of room. And it is not hard to maintain. Gas saver. Plenty of space. Front and back seating seats 5.

It's a good runner. Rear airbag suspension went out so I had it converted into springs and shocks for a reliable suspension. With general maintenance and upkeep the truck is a good runner.

Excellent vehicle never had any major problems but I also do preventive maintenance regular oil changes and tire rotation.
Natalie G.

I bought mine used for a reasonable price. I have not researched cost of a new one but feel like it would be reasonable.

It cost about 3,000. In great condition. It is value holds up pretty well. It is enough room for my family to ride comfortably in it.
Rachel S.
Never looked at the value book on the vehicle. Not sure what it is worth or the value of it. It's in mint condition.
