Dependability and reliability
I love this truck! I have had almost no issues with it. I got 50,000 miles on the factory original brakes and rotors. I got 60,000 Miles on the factory original tires. I had to replace a few light bulbs at 60,000 miles and the air conditioning condenser needed to be replaced.

It does an amazing job off road.
Its black with silver trimming. I have under 90,000 miles on it. I've had to replace my tires 3 times since I've bought it. My a/c is having a few problems. I go off roading as often as u can. I use it as my daily driver. I've had to replace the cv boots on it in the past year.

GMC is awesome get one right now.
Has great acceleration, fair gas mileage. Great looks, the interior is elegant, matches my style. Smooth riding. Quiet on the road. Muffler and exhaust pipe tend to rust prematurely. Great radio and navigation system. You really get what you pay for. I am a happy owner.

Gmc all terrain for the win.
I really love the space this truck offers for passengers and cargo in the 6.5 ft bed. The ride is smooth and has overall been very reliable. For a long truck it has been great on gas mileage compared to my old truck. I would recommend upgrading to the slt or denali because of all the creature comforts that standard once you reach these levels.
accountCircle Brian V
It has both heated and cooling seats.
Does not show if you are in 4 wheel drive or not. The Sirius XM antenna does not work. The truck is good on gas and has an electronic system to use less cylinders when it does not need as much power, which really helps. The bells and whistles are really nice.

2014 GMC sierra - ride in style.
I really love the quiet ride you get. The crew cab is very roomy and comfortable, even on long trips. It get close to 20 miles per gallon on the road. I also like the standard size bed. I can place a full 4x8 sheet of plywood in the back with the tailgate down with no overhang. The tailgate drops slowly and not hard. In addition, the rear bumper has side step inserts so you do not have to step all the way up on the bumper, but rather place your foot halfway up and the step into the bed of the truck. I am 61 and this makes getting in and out of the bed of the truck very easy.

Everything I need, more than I knew I wanted!
I really enjoy my GMC sierra 1500. I purchased it used with the nicest package of upgrades that I have ever had in a vehicle. Hands free, Bluetooth, leather heated seats, individual thermostats a Bose stereo and more make the cab of this truck a pleasant place to be. I have yet to drive a full winter in this trunk but look forward to the inside controlled 4wd. Being in the construction business the 6 ft bed with lots of tie offs has been a great advantage. It has 120,000 and runs like a champ. I love my truck!

Do not have anything good to say about my truck.
It has been a lots of recalls on my truck and some did not work when I was in a accident and I am glad I did not get hurt, I thank god, I paid cash for this truck if I had to do it all over again I would not buy this GMC I call the company and they did not do anything.

Good truck, but has annoyances
Overall a very reliable truck. It's the small things that bother me. When you first turn the truck on, there's 5 very loud chimes, unless you have your seatbelt on before even starting the vehicle. No way to turn that off. When you have the key turned on for accessories, but the engine not running, the bell goes off continuous if you open the driver's door. It's obnoxious, and there's no bell if the back doors are open, which would be more useful. That being said, it's a good reliable truck that hasn't had any problems in the 2 years I've owned it.
accountCircle Tony M
2014 GMC sierra questioning there reliability.
Always like GMC products had a little bad little bad luck with this one, transmission went out at 120000 miles. Other than that good truck comfortable ride. Bought the truck used so do not know what previous owner did. Could of just been poorly maintained, either way do not feel like transmission should have failed.

Too many recalls
Great gas milage and comfortable ride. Has has a lot of recalls. Info center has gone out 4 times now. Was replaced after one year. Found a loose wire less than a year later. Went out again and they tried to fix it with an update that cost ne $150. Two weeks later its gone again. Gm will not admit there is a problem with the key fob being too close to the truck such as when you are camping. The info center dies not completely shut down and will eventually burn out.

Not impressed with the electric break system
Great truck but I’m disappointed in the trailer electric breaks package, bought a new tandem axel boat and trailer last year to only find out the electric hydraulic breaks don’t function at all. A lot of extra money for something that doesn’t work and 6 years later I need trailer breaks and now I half to pay to get them to work. Very disappointed on GMC not putting in a better and more reliable system.

What Problems Does the 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 Have?

The 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 series has more problems than any other model year, and major improvements show up on the 2016 model. Owners register more complaints than other half-ton trucks.

Headlight problems are the most common issue reported by owners. A flaw in the design of the light makes it significantly dimmer than the lights used in other model years. Most owners replace them with a 2016 or newer headlight assembly.

A/C problems are also brought up by owners. The condenser leaks and loses the ability to cool the cabin. Replacement for about $1,100 is the only way to solve the problem.

Electrical problems, including the engine shutting down while driving also happen on the 2014 Sierra. One owner reports replacing the fuse box fixes the problem, but others say they have not found a solution to the problem yet.

There are 21 recalls affecting the 2014 GMC Sierra, much worse than other trucks. Recalls include airbags, transmission position indicator, exhaust components, overheating, transmission oil cooler line, tie rods, warning chimes, transfer case, ignition lock, electronic power steering, and brake faults. All the recalls on the truck are very serious and can lead to mechanical failures.

What are the Prices, Models & Specs?

Totally reliable. They only thing I have had to replace/repair at this point is a battery! The ride is quiet, it does well in rain and snow, it has plenty of towing power. It is a great vehicle.

accountCircle Darby K

Yes reliable, no problems. There have been a couple recalls, but nothing major. Am considering purchasing another.

The only thing we do not love about the truck is the lack of heater vents in the back seat, and if you use the air conditioned seats in the front, hot air blows into the back seat.

Great truck, very reliable, great ride.
Great truck. Very reliable. Excellent features (navigation, reverse camera, OnStar, Sirius XM) to name a few. Good gas mileage for 4 door crew cab. Smooth ride and quiet as well. Have had some recalls but nothing major. Had two repairs to air conditioner, both of which are pretty common to this type of vehicle. Several upgrades and aftermarket accessories available for this type of vehicle. Engines in these vehicles are very reliable.

2014 GMC sierra w/ air conditioned / heated seats.
We have absolutely loved this pickup. The air conditioned seats/heated seats were such a nice feature that we did not know that we wanted! It is a quiet truck while it drives. Gets great fuel mileage for a truck as well! It hauls things smoothly. We have not had any problems with it in the year and a half that we have owned it. The only thing we wish we would have done was gotten a little bit longer of a box instead of just the standard size. We have three kids all in car seats so the cab is a bit snug but that is to be expected. My husband changes the oil regularly, but other than that it has not needed any repairs.

The GMC brand is a step above the others. The cabin is quiet, instrument panel detailed and ride is smoother than the others I test drove. The slt model I purchased is perfect for the money. I would recommend anyone interested in a solid, dependable and long-lasting truck to consider the GMC sierra slt.

The vehicle in my opinion is very reliable and sturdy. The whole time owning the car haven't had many problems with the vehicle well nothing I could not fix myself at home. Great buy with all I need in power looks and capability.
The only problem I am having is with my brakes at low speed like while backing into a parking spot in a parking lot. Other than that I get great gas mileage with luxury yet rugged capability. More than enough room for my family, or the dog and fishing gear.

I've had to already replace tie rod, brakes, the air doesn't work and traction control keeps sticking. Won't purchase this make again. The computer isn't smart. I have a 2014 GMC sierra 1500 base model extended cab. It has a v6 engine. Gas mileage and ride quality are great, but it lacks power. Pretty sports truck for work or play.
All the bells and whistles, lots of power, attractive design, comfortable to drive. Do not know that I would change much in terms of design. Like this truck but the repairs just keep on happening.
My 2014 GMC Sierra crew cab has had some issues. 60,000 k presently. Heated seats failed, $1300, engine oil cooler located within radiator failed and oil leaked into antifreeze so radiator and all hoses had to be replaced along with 3 flushes which cost $3300. Dealer reported now that oil cooler lines are starting to leak so will be $450 to replace. Uses 1litre of oil every 1300 k or so. Considering selling it and going into a Dodge Ram Hemi. My friend owns one with 170k on it and has had zero issues. I take very good care of my vehicles so didnt expect these issues.

These trucks are very nice looking and generally have no issues. I liked adding a cover on the back (I have a soft cover but the hard ones are nice too). The GMC sierra is a great vehicle for any newly families.
The reason my wife and I chose this vehicle is because it was a very good price and the back seat was a good size to fit the car seats in and not feel like our kids were not safe. It has been a truck to suit all my needs. I love doing woodwork and I have no problems pulling a trailer across states with everything running smooth. Gas is a lot more expensive than our last vehicle but it is still worth it because of the versatility of having a truck.

My last truck was a 2005 and had 205k miles on it and the only thing I ever needed to replace on was the oil on it is scheduled maintenance. This newer truck being a 2014 model has really outdone itself with all the features it offers but at the end of the day it is still a truck mentioned for hauling. I'll be buying again soon.

2014 GMC sierra 1500 sle double cab.
This is a great pick-up truck! The gas mileage is great. There's plenty of cargo room, even with a full-size truck-bed tool-box installed. It is the first vehicle I have had with power locks and windows which is definitely a plus! Having a vehicle equipped with Bluetooth and XM radio capabilities has been a game-changer. I rarely listen to what I call 'terrestrial' radio anymore. Drivability is very good with great suspension, steering, and virtually no blind spots. Really my only complaint is the transmission. When I am stopping it seems as if the vehicle downshifts very rough.

Very nice truck, but no nav
Truck rides like a Cadillac. Love the interior. There is plenty of room inside and in bed. The only problem I have with it is that there is no navigation unless you want to pay$35/month for on star nav.

The benefits of owning a full size truck.
So far the truck has been great. Has plenty of room for passengers as well as good cargo room in the bed. I mainly use it for towing my at which it does well at. The only issue I have had is the actuator for the 4 wheel drive malfunctioned and was not cheap to fix.

I love the touch screen and how the truck drives.
The ac stopped working a month ago I am not sure why. If it is pretty new. Also the headlights we seem to replace them to often. And last thing this the second time we have to replace the buttons one side because the windows do not go down. Other than that I love my truck.

Great vehicle. Fully loaded slt model with four wheel drive.
No problems so far. Comfort is great. Blind spots are apparent from the driver's seat and the view from over the hood is diminished. The back up camera is a huge plus and the leather heated and cooled seats are a benefit. Performance is great. Power is good. I do not pull trailers regularly with it but it would have enough power to do that.

Do not have one. It is overall a great truck.
Very good when taken off road. Rides extremely smooth like I am floating on a cloud. Tires are not loud while driving on the highway. Stock sound system is absolutely phenomenal. The tailgate has a lot of space for when I really like to go camping in the mountains just me and a few of my friends.

A GMC with air conditioned seats.
Comfortable leather seats. Love that the seats are heated but also air conditioned. Built in navigation on a decent size screen. It would be nice if it would update automatically but have to update with a DVD or USB drive and it costs every time. Has Sirius XM radio built in with OnStar also.

Best farm truck we've ever owned.
Love the quality of my interior. It has withstanded life on a farm (horses and livestock) without looking beat up. My biggest complaint is that even with low mileage (66k on a 6 year old truck) and routine maintenance we’ve had fuel lines replaced, power steering failed, and several recalls. Otherwise the truck still looks and runs like it did the day we drove it off the lot.
