Constant Battery Problems
I love my terrain as far as looks. But I have a 2018 Terrain and am on my 4th battery (counting the original) now. They keep replacing the battery and telling me the battery was faulty. Really? I think there is something seriously wrong with the electrical system. Not happy at all.

I do not have details. It is just your basic SUV.
Some of the thing I do not like that it does not remote start or have a lifted tailgate. Those make life easier with kids. I do love that it gets great gas mileage. There is enough room for my German shepherd and my two kids and my 6’2 husband. It is comfortable to drive long distances in.

9.5/10 because I love it, but it could be better on gas.
So far, I haven't had any issues with my vehicle at all! It drives very smoothly, the gas and break are not too touchy, the wheel moves effortlessly, and the fabric seats are so comfortable! I also absolutely love the remote start and backup camera! The only complaint I can come up with is it is not amazing on gas but it is not horrible either.

Overall it is a good SUV for traveling, gives you lots of room for cargo.
I personally do not have any issues with my 2018 GMC terrain. The push button gear shift in the 2018 was a little bit of a challenge to get used to however, I have gotten used to it and I actually like it. I highly recommend the nine speed turbo it really helps with the get up and go. It gets good gas mileage. I do wish my 2018 had the XM radio capability. I do sometimes have issues with my radio updating and it is not updating correctly which can be an issue.

Stylish vehicle with a smooth ride.
The performance on this vehicle is very nice. It has a very smooth ride. I also live the fact that it shuts off, when I stop at a light or stall for any reason to help conserve gas. Trunk space is important to me and this vehicle has nice space, and also the back seats fold forward to allow for moving large objects. The onstar system has been another big hit for me. I love that I can just press the button and be connected to a representative. Another feature that is nice with onstar service if your car is ever stolen, they are able to track it and shut down the engine. I chose cloth seats because I have never cared much for leather because of how hot the seats can become in the summer and cold in the winter. Also I love that my phone automatically connects to the Bluetooth once I am inside. It also reminds you that if you've opened either of the back doors, once you've parked and opened the driver's side door it reminds you to check your back seat- which is a child safety feature... Also for child safety it has the safety locks that does not allow them to open their door from inside. The navigation system is built into the system so that after you speak with on-star the send the directions straight to your vehicle's navigation, which comes up on your touch screen and also announces over your speakers the directions. The city mpg is not what I hoped for but that's the only negative thing that I can think of. But the overall performance of the vehicle is above my expectations.

Love my GMC Denali terrain. It is luxurious at an affordable price.
I love the features on my car including the backup camera, heated seats and steering wheel, touchscreen. It drives great, is very comfortable. The hands free opening feature for the trunk is very helpful when shopping. I also love the keyless lock and unlock feature on the doors. The gas mileage is very reasonable.

Its red and I love it. I really love it.
I really like the smoothness when driving on the roads. But a problem that I am concerned with is that whenever I stop for a long time, the car just stops, like it turns off then turns back on so I don't know if that is normal or not. But whatever I guess that is how it is right.

Great gas mileage! Perfect for an active family.
Very good on gas mileage. Average 30 mpg. Extra maintenance needed due to it being a diesel. Put on fuel additive to help keep pipes clean. Roomy interior. Large and spacious back seat. Only real complaint/annoyance is the auto stop to save on fuel. Car shuts off when you come to a stop and restarts when you release the brake pedal.

Pros & cons - trunk space, compatibility, look interior and exterior.
Disappointed with interior, outside shape recently changed, preferred old look of terrain. Pick up speed is good, apple carplay compatibility, and trunk space are all positive. Enough room in back, good small sized SUV, for a family. Would lease a GMC again.

Tire wear
I have the 2018 GMC Terrain, it currently has 28,000 miles on it. I live in New York so I have to bring my car in for a yearly inspection. When I brought my Terrain in to be inspected I was told that it failed due to the front tire. I was also told that the two rear tires would haveto be replaced soon also. The tires are the stock tires that came on the car which were Michealin. I was told by the mechanic that the tires are soft and they wear down quick. I ended up replacing all four tires. I’ve never had to replace tires on my car before 30,000 miles unless they were damaged. Is this a common problem with the 2018 GMC Terrain?

Great vehicle overall, recommend.
Great vehicle overall! Does not have all of the “gadgets” like sunroof, button controlled trunk, etc. But, this is really a great gas saver and it runs very smoothly! The gears take some getting used to, but nothing terrible. The biggest problem is the apple CarPlay cuts out often while driving. It is been many times I have been driving and my screen would go black.

I like the shape of the car and how much space I get inside the vehicle.
I do not like the push to start. I do not like the interior. I do not like the shape. I do not like how the vehicle has shift buttons I think that is a very dangerous thing. I do not like the seats. They are very easy to stain, and dog hair sticks on them. I think that there is a poor quality fabric.

Recommendation for the 2018 GMC terrain.
The 2018 GMC terrain was the first year of the new body style. I got used to not having a shifter and there is more cpu space. There were some minor electrical issues, but overall it provides a comfortable ride. I think many of the problems have been worked out in subsequent vehicles.

Comfortable on long trips, can pull seats back, camp in, drives great off road.
A couple of problems I have encountered are that there is not a lot of room in the front seat after putting an infant car seat in the back and moving front seat forward to have room, also sometimes the screen will go black and not work properly until the car is turned off and back on, another problem I've noticed is that when you roll the back windows down there is a terrible loud noise from the wind rushing against the window, also the back door trim does not completely match up to the rear side of the vehicle. Has always been a reliable vehicle, great turbo performance, seats are comfortable and interior is easy to clean, great features. This vehicle has never let us down or got us stuck. I feel very safe in this vehicle and love driving this car.

Love this vehicle, not to big or small and good on gas, plenty of space and kid friendly. It is also really safe and I love the style of the body, it is got heated seats and a review camera which I love. It also speeds up quickly which is not really an absolute necessity but it is still nice to have.

Battery will not stay charged
Bought new in Oct 2017 (2018 Denali). If not driven for 3 - 4 days, it will not start. This has occurred multiple times over the 2 years I've owned the vehicle and the dealership is unable to determine what is draining the battery. Now I am being told the many electronics on the Denali's draw on the battery even when the vehicle isn't running and there is no solution other than to keep a charger on the battery if the Terrain will not be driven for 3 or more days.

Love the terrain, except for the radio.
The fold-flat seats including the front passenger seat is very useful for cargo purposes. The car gets very good gas mileage. I use the back up and surround cameras regularly, they are very helpful in backing into our garage. The only bad feature is that the radio is not very stable. I have had intermittent issues with it since we brought it.

2018 Terrain - Don’t waste your $
Do not buy the 2018 terrain. Major transmission slipping and revving. When it eventually bangs into gear it jerks your car either left or right. This last time it happened I crashed into a parked car...$6000 worth of damage. Only 18,000 miles in 2.5 years and can not wait to get rid of this car!! I will not buy another GMC’nn

I absolutely love my vehicle from the day I purchased it. The coolest feature I find is the way you shift your vehicle. You push a button for park and natural and pull a lever for drive and reverse. The vehicle also includes a keyless entry so, meaning, it is a push to start vehicle. The seats are leather and feature a seat and back warming option, which is great.

GMC terrain: top class mini SUV.
The GMC terrain is by far one of the most reliable small SUVs that I have ever had in my life. Originally I had a Hyundai Tucson for about five years. I use to think that it was the best mini SUV but once I started driving the GMC terrain it changed my whole mindset on what I thought was a good SUV. For starters, it has a very sleek look in all black. The trim looks amazing and the GMC grill is one of my favorite designs. Performance is very good as well. The terrain has a very smooth ride and has a somewhat decent take on fuel. The only thing I do not like about the terrain is the fact that the layout or style that I have only takes on premium. I am not sure if any of the other ones do or do not but the one I have does. Premium cost way too much and knowing that my car only takes it can be a little frustrating. For the interior, the leather seats feel great and look great, dashboard has a nice display and the steering wheel has a nice design. The overall interior is just amazing in both style and comfort. The GMC terrain is just really an amazing car for me. Even with having kids and knowing that they enjoy being in the car just makes it even better in my eyes. I would definitely refer this car to anyone that has ever considered getting this car. There is not any other mini SUV that is out in the market that has the same effect on me than this one. You cannot go wrong with this vehicle.

I love my car because it is very easy to drive and is very comfortable. It is also the perfect size to fit my whole family including 2 boys. 2018 GMC terrain: quirks and cooling.
Overall it's a solid car. That being said, it feels solid. Meaning it feels heavy. Some cars (like Kia) for example feel light. Call it quality or just call it bulky, either way to me. I feel safer. The shifter being implemented in the lower dashboard take a little to get used to, but you'll get there. Other than that, I have never had an ac that blew colder than this car does. It'll freeze you out even in TX weather.

Not 100% happy with this GMC 2018 terrain Denali.
Not crazy about the seat covers in this SUV. This is a Denali. Our Chrysler we turned in had plush seats. This one does not. It drives good and performs well. The motor cuts off when we stop and comes back on when we take off. We wanted to cut that off but we were told we could not.

Good family started but not for a family bigger than 3.
I love it but honestly the interior is not that big it should be able to seat 5 but there is only space for 4 of us. This is a big downfall being that we want a larger family. The 2018 GMC Terrain; The Right Car For You!
I love my 2018 GMC Terrain. I have AWD and it really helped me out this past winter with the bad snow storms. Features that I love: easy to navigate computer system to control not only entertainment but also the system specs. The rear seat easily folds down to allow for maximum storage. Some things I don't like: It came with the 'auto-stop' feature (the car automatically turns off when you come to a complete stop) that I am not a fan of. In some other vehicles (and even the 2019 Terrain) you have the ability to turn this off, but not in the 2018 model. I would've also preferred different colored stitching/panels on the interior but I could've been pickier when shopping as well. All in all a great, reliable car!

The new terrain pulls off the impressive trick of shrinking.
The base engine lacks power, the transmission is slow-witted, and the powertrain focus on fuel economy all but eliminates snappy acceleration and quick pedal response. Elsewhere it is better. The brakes feel good, and though it is no sport SUV, the terrain handles curves and corner.

Had higher expectations for this car when we purchased it. Sadly, it fell short.
Smaller than we anticipated. With two car seats we feel like it is just not enough room. To be fair we came from a large highlander but if you have kids you understand the car seat struggle. Once those are clipped in the front seat occupants do not have much room left. We do not like that you change gears with the push buttons. Our smart screen will often go blank and require service. More than once, we actually couldn’t even turn the vehicle off. The radio blared for 10 plus minutes in our driveway for no apparent reason. The dealership could never tell us why it occurred. We have been hit two times since purchasing the vehicle and twice required new parts to be ordered to fix the damage. Twice, because of the GMC strikes, we waited months to have our car repaired. That being said, it is ok on gas. We do like the way the vehicle looks, and it is comfortable when a car seat is not jammed behind you.

Car has not provided any particular problems so far, but I do not like the fact that we do not have the option to remove the auto stop. Also, the car screen sometimes just freezes and will not be functional until you stop and restart car. Car does not spend a lot of gas.

It's very family friendly and your kids with love it and easy to clean .
I like that it is able to hold all my family. As well be comfortable when we go on little road trips. Also , the trunk has a lot of space

This is a great car. Would definitely recommend.
The car does not hold much gas in the tank. Barely $30 fills it up. The seats are comfortable, but I occasionally have issues putting the passenger seat back. Spacious back seat and trunk. I was able to pull the back seats down and fit a whole outdoor furniture set in the back.

That it is a good quality vehicle that is reliable
I like It's performance. I like the way that it handles. I like the interior and exterior design. I have no dislikes about it.

Great heated seats and steering wheel. Gets up and moves.
Horrible turning radius. Does not do well in the snow. Wonderful stereo system. Great leather seats. I love the turbo. Reliable and great gas mileage. Offers heat and cooling seats and steering wheel. Would be nice to have heated mirrors due to living in the snow.

GMC terrain good dependable vehicle.
No problems. It is a dependable vehicle. It has great gas mileage. Great cargo space. Comfortable to drive. Comfortable for passengers. Great features included. Wi-Fi enabled. Great sound system. I like the price and incentives that were included. I like that it is OnStar capable.

Terrain - Not Too Shabby!
It's a nice little car. I should have gotten leather but it's okay. It's nice for a family of 4 with small children. Decent trunk size. Good on gas. I love the apple screen feature so I can see my music and navigation. I HATE the feature where the car shuts off and restarts itself. Hate it. It's annoying and I don't understand the purpose. I like this car. I don't love it. But it's a decent car with a lot of modern features.

GMC terrain 2018 fantastic car!
Very comfortable! Perfect car to take on road trips. Never had any issues with the car. Smooth driving. It does not accelerate very easily, but not a dealbreaker. Lots of storage and compartments! Affordable price for a brand new vehicle and still feels brand new!

Great pick up, fast, drives smooth, buttons as the gear shift.
It is very comfortable, makes me feel safe, great pick up, fast breaks, safe air bags, great interior detail, stylish, Bluetooth is amazing, great radio stations, fabric seats, all wheel drive, snow mode, backup camera, good amount of storage, nice size trunk.

The 2018 GMC terrain is great on fuel economy. AWD, 6 speed transmission.
The car rides smoothly. Takes bumps well. The vehicle is a two row passenger SUV, that seats 5. It does have one odd feature that some people may or may not like. It has a push button gear selector in center of the dashboard. It takes a little getting used to especially when my truck has a column gear shift selector. It seats comfortably in the front and has heated cloth seats. Driver side has power seat and lumbar controls. The information screen has navigation and is apple CarPlay capabilities. Which means when you plug in your iPhone to the USB port it has the same app image settings on your phone. The vehicle has a small motor, but is not lacking in horsepower when in need. Very spacious cargo are behind 2nd row seating. So whether you have groceries or children’s bicycles. It is very convenient. It is also a nicely shaped vehicle not like some other boxy SUVs. The cost of the vehicle is also not too bad for the quality.

Heated steering wheel, heated seats and remote start are great for cold weather.
Perfect size, smooth ride, lots of safety features and very techy. The Denali trim package makes it a most enjoyable ride for driver and passengers. Apple & android car play lets you text hands free & listen to your own music on a high quality sound system. Love the power liftgate.

Great family starter car!
Overall it is a great vehicle. Computer system glitches when using android auto and apple car. Phone will be plugged in and it states it is not and cannot read it. Great on gas mileage for the size. Good car for a new family. I wish the trunk was bigger.

What I Like About The 2018 GMC Terrain
My 2018 GMC Terrain is a great SUV. Not too big, not too small. I love the new push button ignition and gear shift. The information center is awesome! Not only can you select radio stations, make phone calls, and see what's behind you when in reverse (even at night). Living in Michigan the weather can get pretty cold, but with bun warmers the seats are nice and toasty. We have dual exhaust, and use 93 premium. The gas is a little more but gets 25 mpg in the city. All in all I'm pretty satisfied with my car and would like to buy another one when the time comes.

The GMC terrain is sporty looking.
It is easy to drive and park yet has lots of room for groceries. Love the keyless entry, backup camera and the buttons for p, r, d. Lots of leg and head room for the driver and passenger. The turbo 4 cylinder is remarkably quick. The steering wheel controls are very handy and easy to use.

The car is stylish, reliable and affordable. It's a great family vehicle without the high end price tag.
I love all of the options it has, such as backup camera, lane departure warnings, and navigation. I also like the push button to automatically close the trunk. I like the bigger engine and it drives smoothly. One thing I wish it had was a heated steering wheel. I like the boxy style of the car also.

Extremely comfortable and easy to maneuver.
The car is very comfortable and a good size. I wish it was faster than a 4 cylinder. The windshield wipers are the opposite of the way typical ones are so that was somewhat difficult to figure out during the initial test drive. You can feel a lot of bumps in the road.

Overall the terrain is a great vehicle with a disappointing navigation screen.
I love everything about the terrain. The only thing I don't like is the navigation screen screws up sometimes when connected to an iPod. Also, the time is not accurate. The vehicle is great on gas for an SUV. I plan on leasing another terrain once this lease is up.

Great mid-size luxury car.
Great car! The interior is roomy and the features are easy to use. The panoramic sunroof feels like a sunroom without all of the wind. The one drawback is the turning radius is not the best. I have driven larger vehicles that were better in this area. There is ample storage and the gas mileage is great.
accountCircle Denise S on November 25, 2020
It's great for families on the go!
It's the perfect size. Big enough to comfortably have enough room for the fam. Small enough to have good gas mileage

Excellent fuel economy. Good safety features; including side and rear alarms.
This vehicle is an all wheel drive, with the ability to select front drive only. We get around 24 mpg in all of our driving. It holds 4 passengers comfortably and 5 if necessary. More than adequate storage space for luggage or shopping bags. Quiet and easy to handle.

White exterior with black leather interior. Extremely large sunroof.
Love my terrain. Interior is to quality. Did have one issue with sunroof breaking however was fixed and had no more issues. The trunk is very spacious with plenty of room. Sound system sounds awesome. I love the touch screen audio controls and have everything at my fingertips I may need while driving.

Apple play gives you navigation without the extra cost.
Very comfortable seats. Very smooth ride. Average amount of outside noise, it could block out noise better. Auto stop is annoying because it cannot be turned off. Transmission with auto stop stalls very often which makes for an uncomfortable ride at times. Electronic glitches happen frequently. Apple play is a great feature. Remote start is very convenient. I wish it sat higher off the ground. It seems to be a low rider of an SUV.

Keyless entry, push start and button shifts
I personally have not had an issues with my vehicle. It is very reliable has very good mileage takes about 20 to 25 dollars to fill up gas tank. It sits 5 people comfortably has a added storage compartment in the trunk area. A/C blows perfectly in the area of the driver, also keep everyone in the back nice and cool as well as the car has air vents directed to the back seat. Has a 6 inch display screen in which you can connect your phone via Bluetooth or USB to use android auto or apple play to use your car as your phone. Has navigation, OnStar equipped. Only real dislike I have is the auto stop function it has when you stop the car goes idle once you release the brake or after a few seconds or a minute the car comes back on.

Love the interior and great size.
I love the interior! It is dark with a wood finish look in some spots. Very roomy in the front and back seats! Fits 2 car seats comfortably. This car has button shifters which I've never seen before but I really like it! I haven't had any car issues, rides great and I love the black on black that I got. Truck is very big, fits a double stroller plus room to store things on top of it. Roof rack, I haven't used yet but it's nice to have. Love the heated seats when you adjust the heat it shows up on the screen. Radio works great and I love the size of the screen it's not too big and not too small. The SUV is perfect for our family of four.

Looks fancy, but it's made cheap
Functions in the car have stopped working properly. Radio freezes, sunroof gets stuck open, navigation system does not work, USB the front does not work, speedometer does not work. Air conditioning didn't work when I first received the car. Brake pads have already needed replaced.
